1 Samuel 27

1 And Dauid said in his heart, I shall now perish one day by the hand of Saul: is it not better for me that I saue my selfe in the lande of the Philistims, and that Saul may haue no hope of me to seeke me any more in all the coastes of Israel, and so escape out of his hand?

Pero David se dijo: Algún día voy a perecer por mano de Saúl. Nada me será mejor que escapar a la tierra de los filisteos. Así Saúl perderá toda esperanza de buscarme por todo el territorio de Israel, y escaparé de su mano.

2 Dauid therefore arose, and he, and the sixe hundreth men that were with him, went vnto Achish the sonne of Maoch King of Gath.

David se levantó con los 600 hombres que tenía consigo, y pasó a Aquís, hijo de Maoc, rey de Gat.

3 And Dauid dwelt with Achish at Gath, he, and his men, euery man with his housholde, Dauid with his two wiues, Ahinoam the Izreelite, and Abigail Nabals wife the Carmelite.

Él y sus hombres vivieron con Aquís en Gat, cada uno con su familia, David con sus dos esposas, Ahinoam, la jezreelita, y Abigail, la que fue esposa de Nabal, el de la montaña Carmelo.

4 And it was tolde Saul that Dauid was fled to Gath: so he sought no more for him.

Le informaron a Saúl que David huyó a Gat, y no lo buscó más.

5 And Dauid saide vnto Achish, If I haue nowe founde peace in thine eyes, let them giue me a place in some other citie of the countrey, that I may dwell there: for why should thy seruant dwel in ye head citie of the kingdome with thee?

David dijo a Aquís: Si ahora hallé gracia ante ti, que me den un lugar en una de las poblaciones del campo para que yo viva allí. ¿Por qué debe vivir tu esclavo contigo en la ciudad real?

6 Then Achish gaue him Ziklag that same day: therefore Ziklag pertaineth vnto the kings of Iudah vnto this day.

Aquel día Aquís le entregó Siclag. Por eso Siclag es de los reyes de Judá hasta hoy.

7 And the time that Dauid dwelt in the countrey of the Philistims, was foure moneths and certaine dayes.

El tiempo que David vivió en la tierra de los filisteos fue un año y cuatro meses.

8 Then Dauid and his men went vp, and inuaded the Geshurites, and the Girzites, and the Amalekites: for they inhabited the lande from the beginning, from the way, as thou goest to Shur, euen vnto the lande of Egypt.

David subía con sus hombres y despojaban a los gesuritas, gercitas y amalecitas, pues hacía tiempo que éstos vivían en aquella tierra, en dirección a Shur, hasta la tierra de Egipto.

9 And Dauid smote the lande, and left neither man nor woman aliue, and tooke sheepe, and oxen, and asses, and camels, and apparell, and returned and came to Achish.

David atacaba aquella tierra y no dejaba vivo hombre ni mujer. Se llevaba las ovejas, bueyes, asnos, camellos y equipos. Luego se volvía y regresaba a Aquís.

10 And Achish said, Where haue ye bene a rouing this day? And Dauid answered, Against the South of Iudah, and against the South of the Ierahmeelites, and against the South of ye Kenites.

Y Aquís preguntaba: ¿Dónde tomaron el despojo hoy? David respondía: Hacia el sur de Judá, hacia el sur de los jerameelitas o hacia el sur de los ceneos.

11 And Dauid saued neither man nor woman aliue, to bring them to Gath, saying, Lest they should tel on vs, and say, So did Dauid, and so will be his maner all the while that he dwelleth in the countrey of the Philistims.

David no dejaba con vida hombre ni mujer que fuera a Gat, pues decía: No sea que ellos declaren contra nosotros y digan: ¡Esto hizo David! Y esa fue su costumbre todo el tiempo que vivió en la tierra de los filisteos.

12 And Achish beleeued Dauid, saying, He hath made his people of Israel vtterly to abhorre him: therefore he shalbe my seruant for euer.

Aquís tenía confianza en David, pues se decía: Se hizo aborrecible a su pueblo Israel, por lo cual será siempre mi esclavo.
