1 Samuel 27
1 And Dauid said in his heart, I shall now perish one day by the hand of Saul: is it not better for me that I saue my selfe in the lande of the Philistims, and that Saul may haue no hope of me to seeke me any more in all the coastes of Israel, and so escape out of his hand?
David aber sagte sich selbst: Nun werde ich eines Tages durch Sauls Hand hingerafft werden: es nützt mir nichts, als daß ich thatsächlich ins Philisterland entrinne; dann giebt Saul es auf, noch länger im ganzen Gebiet Israels auf mich zu fahnden, und ich bin aus seinen Händen entronnen.
2 Dauid therefore arose, and he, and the sixe hundreth men that were with him, went vnto Achish the sonne of Maoch King of Gath.
So machte sich David auf und ging mit den 600 Mann, die er um sich hatte, zu Achis, dem Sohne Maochs, dem Könige von Gath, über.
3 And Dauid dwelt with Achish at Gath, he, and his men, euery man with his housholde, Dauid with his two wiues, Ahinoam the Izreelite, and Abigail Nabals wife the Carmelite.
Und David blieb samt seinen Leutenbei Achis in Gath, jeder mit seiner Familie; David mit seinen beiden Frauen: Ahinoam aus Jesreel und Abigail, dem Weibe des Karmeliters Nabal.
4 And it was tolde Saul that Dauid was fled to Gath: so he sought no more for him.
Als nun Saul die Meldung empfing, David sei nach Gath geflohen, gab er es auf, noch länger auf ihn zu fahnden.
5 And Dauid saide vnto Achish, If I haue nowe founde peace in thine eyes, let them giue me a place in some other citie of the countrey, that I may dwell there: for why should thy seruant dwel in ye head citie of the kingdome with thee?
David aber bat Achis: Wenn du mir irgend gewogen bist, so würdest du mir vielleicht einen Platz in einer der Landstädte zum Aufenthalt anweisen lassen; wozu doch soll dein Sklave bei dir in der Hauptstadt wohnen?
6 Then Achish gaue him Ziklag that same day: therefore Ziklag pertaineth vnto the kings of Iudah vnto this day.
Da wies ihm Achis noch an demselben Tage Ziklag an; infolgedessen gehört Ziklag den Königen von Juda bis auf den heutigen Tag.
7 And the time that Dauid dwelt in the countrey of the Philistims, was foure moneths and certaine dayes.
Die Zeit, welche David im Landgebiete der Philister zubrachte, betrug ein Jahr und vier Monate.
8 Then Dauid and his men went vp, and inuaded the Geshurites, and the Girzites, and the Amalekites: for they inhabited the lande from the beginning, from the way, as thou goest to Shur, euen vnto the lande of Egypt.
Und David zog mit seinen Leuten hinauf, und sie brachen bei den Gesuritern, den Gisritern und den Amalekitern ein; denn das sind die Bewohnerschaften des Landes, welches sich von Telam bis nach Sur und bis nach Ägypten erstreckt.
9 And Dauid smote the lande, and left neither man nor woman aliue, and tooke sheepe, and oxen, and asses, and camels, and apparell, and returned and came to Achish.
Und wenn David ein solches Gebiet überfiel, ließ er weder Mann noch Weib am Leben, nahm Schafe, Rinder, Esel, Kamele und gewänder weg und kehrte so zu Achis zurück.
10 And Achish said, Where haue ye bene a rouing this day? And Dauid answered, Against the South of Iudah, and against the South of the Ierahmeelites, and against the South of ye Kenites.
Fragte dann Achis: Wo seid ihr heute eingebrochen? so antwortete David: Im Südlande von Juda, oder: Im Südlande der Jerahmeeliter, oder: Im Südlande der Keniter!
11 And Dauid saued neither man nor woman aliue, to bring them to Gath, saying, Lest they should tel on vs, and say, So did Dauid, and so will be his maner all the while that he dwelleth in the countrey of the Philistims.
David ließ aber weder Mann noch Weib leben und nach Gath kommen, in der Erwägung: Sie könnten gegen uns zeugen und berichten: So hat david gehandelt! Dieses Verfahren übte er so lange er sich im Landgebiete der Philister aufhielt.
12 And Achish beleeued Dauid, saying, He hath made his people of Israel vtterly to abhorre him: therefore he shalbe my seruant for euer.
So schenkte Achis David Vertrauen in der Überzeugung: Er ist bei seinen Landsleuten in Israel in Verruf gekommen und so wird er für immer in meinem Dienst bleiben.
