1 Samuel 23
1 Then they tolde Dauid, saying, Beholde, the Philistims fight against Keilah, and spoyle the barnes.
E deram aviso a Davi, dizendo: Eis que os filisteus combatem a Queila, e roubam as eiras.
2 Therfore Dauid asked counsel of the Lord, saying, Shal I goe and smite these Philistims? And the Lord answered Dauid, Go and smite the Philistims, and saue Keilah.
E Davi consultou ao SENHOR, dizendo: Irei a ferir a estes filisteus? E o SENHOR respondeu a Davi: Vai, fere aos filisteus, e livra a Queila.
3 And Dauids men said vnto him, See, we be afrayde here in Iudah, howe much more if we come to Keilah against the hoste of ye Philistims?
Mas os que estavam com Davi lhe disseram: Eis que nós aqui em Judá estamos com medo; quanto mais se formos a Queila contra o exército dos filisteus?
4 Then Dauid asked counsell of the Lord againe. And the Lord answered him, and sayd, Arise, go downe to Keilah: for I wil deliuer the Philistims into thine hand.
Então Davi voltou a consultar ao SENHOR. E o SENHOR lhe respondeu, e disse: Levanta-te, desce a Queila, que eu entregarei em tuas mãos aos filisteus.
5 So Dauid and his men went to Keilah, and fought with the Philistims, and brought away their cattel, and smote them with a great slaughter: thus Dauid saued the inhabitants of Keilah.
Partiu-se, pois Davi com seus homens a Queila, e lutou contra os filisteus, e tomou seus gados, e feriu-os com grande estrago: e livrou Davi aos de Queila.
6 (And when Abiathar the sonne of Ahimelech fled to Dauid to Keilah, he brought an Ephod with him)
E aconteceu que, fugindo Abiatar filho de Aimeleque a Davi a Queila, veio também com ele o éfode.
7 And it was tolde Saul that Dauid was come to Keilah, and Saul sayd, God hath deliuered him into mine hand: for he is shut in, seeing he is come into a citie that hath gates and barres.
E foi dito a Saul que Davi havia vindo a Queila. Então disse Saul: Deus o trouxe a minhas mãos; porque ele está escondido, havendo-se posto em cidade com portas e fechaduras.
8 Then Saul called all the people together to warre, for to go downe to Keilah, and to besiege Dauid and his men.
E convocou Saul todo aquele povo à batalha, para descer a Queila, e pôr cerco a Davi e aos seus.
9 And Dauid hauing knowledge that Saul imagined mischiefe against him, saide to Abiathar the Priest, Bring the Ephod.
Mas entendendo Davi que Saul planejava o mal contra ele, disse a Abiatar sacerdote: Traze o éfode.
10 Then sayde Dauid, O Lord God of Israel, thy seruat hath heard, that Saul is about to come to Keilah to destroy the citie for my sake.
E disse Davi: o SENHOR Deus de Israel, teu servo tem entendido que Saul trata de vir contra Queila, a destruir a cidade por causa minha.
11 Wil the lordes of Keilah deliuer me vp into his hand? and will Saul come downe, as thy seruant hath heard? O Lord God of Israel, I beseech thee, tell thy seruant. And the Lord sayde, He will come downe.
Os vizinhos de Queila me entregarão em suas mãos? Descerá Saul, como teu servo tem ouvido? O SENHOR Deus de Israel, rogo-te que o declares a teu servo. E o SENHOR disse: Sim, descerá.
12 Then said Dauid, Will the lords of Keilah deliuer me vp, and the men that are with me, into the hand of Saul? And the Lord sayde, They will deliuer thee vp.
Disse logo Davi: Os vizinhos de Queila entregarão a mim e a meus homens em mãos de Saul? E o SENHOR respondeu: Eles te entregarão.
13 Then Dauid and his men, which were about sixe hundreth, arose, and departed out of Keilah, and went whither they coulde. And it was tolde Saul, that Dauid was fled from Keilah, and he left off his iourney.
Davi então se levantou com seus homens, que eram como seiscentos, e sairam de Queila, e foram-se de uma parte à outra. E veio a nova a Saul de como Davi se havia escapado de Queila; e deixou de sair.
14 And Dauid abode in the wildernesse in holdes, and remayned in a mountaine in the wildernes of Ziph. And Saul sought him euery day, but God deliuered him not into his hand.
E Davi se estava no deserto em penhas, e habitava em um monte no deserto de Zife; e Saul o buscava todos os dias, mas Deus não o entregou em suas mãos.
15 And Dauid sawe that Saul was come out for to seeke his life: and Dauid was in the wildernes of Ziph in the wood.
Vendo, pois, Davi que Saul havia saído em busca de sua alma, estava-se ele no bosque no deserto de Zife.
16 And Ionathan Sauls sonne arose and went to Dauid into the wood, and comforted him in God,
Então se levantou Jônatas filho de Saul, e veio a Davi no bosque, e confortou sua mão em Deus.
17 And said vnto him, Feare not: for the hand of Saul my father shall not finde thee, and thou shalt be King ouer Israel, and I shalbe next vnto thee: and also Saul my father knoweth it.
E disse-lhe: Não temas, porque a mão de meu pai Saul não te achará, e tu reinarás sobre Israel, e eu serei segundo depois de ti; e ainda Saul meu pai assim o sabe.
18 So they twaine made a couenant before ye Lord: and Dauid did remaine in the wood: but Ionathan went to his house.
E entre ambos fizeram aliança diante do SENHOR: e Davi se ficou no bosque, e Jônatas se voltou à sua casa.
19 Then came vp the Ziphims to Saul to Gibeah, saying, Doeth not Dauid hide himselfe by vs in holdes, in the wood in the hill of Hachilah, which is on the right side of Ieshimon?
E subiram os de Zife a dizer a Saul em Gibeá: Não está Davi escondido em nossa terra nas penhas do bosque, no morro de Haquilá que está à direita do deserto?
20 Nowe therefore, O King, come downe according to all that thine heart can desire, and our part shall be to deliuer him into the Kinges handes.
Portanto, rei, desce agora logo, segundo todo aquele desejo de tua alma, e nós o entregaremos na mão do rei.
21 Then Saul said, Be ye blessed of the Lord: for ye haue had compassion on mee.
E Saul disse: Benditos sejais vós do SENHOR, que haveis tido compaixão de mim:
22 Goe, I pray you, and prepare ye yet better: know and see his place where he haunteth, and who hath seene him there: for it is sayd to me, He is subtile, and craftie.
Ide, pois, agora, preparai ainda, considerai e vede seu lugar por onde ele passa, e quem o tenha visto ali; porque se me disse que ele é em grande maneira astuto.
23 See therefore and know all the secret places where he hideth himselfe, and come ye againe to me with the certaintie, and I will goe with you: and if he be in the lande, I will searche him out throughout all the thousands of Iudah.
Considerai, pois, e vede todos os esconderijos de onde se oculta, e voltai a mim com a certeza, e eu irei convosco: que se ele estiver na terra, eu lhe buscarei entre todos os milhares de Judá.
24 Then they arose and went to Ziph before Saul, but Dauid and his men were in the wildernesse of Maon, in the playne on the right hande of Ieshimon.
E eles se levantaram, e se foram a Zife diante de Saul. Mas Davi e sua gente estavam no deserto de Maom, na planície que está à direita do deserto.
25 Saul also and his men went to seeke him, and they told Dauid: wherefore he came downe vnto a rocke, and abode in the wildernesse of Maon. And when Saul heard that, he folowed after Dauid in the wildernes of Maon.
E partiu-se Saul com sua gente a buscá-lo; mas foi dado aviso a Davi, e desceu à penha, e ficou no deserto de Maom. O qual quando Saul ouviu, seguiu a Davi ao deserto de Maom.
26 And Saul and his men went on the one side of the mountaine, and Dauid and his men on the other side of the mountaine: and Dauid made haste to get from the presence of Saul: for Saul and his men compassed Dauid and his men round about, to take them.
E Saul ia pelo um lado do monte, e Davi com os seus pelo outro lado do monte: e apressava-se Davi para ir adiante de Saul; mas Saul e os seus haviam cercado a Davi e à sua gente para tomá-los.
27 But there came a messenger to Saul, saying, Haste thee, and come: for the Philistims haue inuaded the land.
Então veio um mensageiro a Saul, dizendo: Vem logo, porque os filisteus fizeram uma invasão na terra.
28 Wherefore Saul returned from pursuing Dauid, and went against the Philistims. Therefore they called that place, Sela-hammahlekoth.
Voltou-se, portanto, Saul de perseguir a Davi, e partiu contra os filisteus. Por esta causa puseram a aquele lugar por nome Selá-Hamalecote.
29 And Dauid went thence, and dwelt in holdes at En-gedi.
Então Davi subiu dali, e habitou nos lugares fortes em En-Gedi.
