1 Samuel 23
1 Then they tolde Dauid, saying, Beholde, the Philistims fight against Keilah, and spoyle the barnes.
Und man berichtete David und sprach: Siehe, die Philister streiten wider Kehila, und sie plündern die Tennen.
2 Therfore Dauid asked counsel of the Lord, saying, Shal I goe and smite these Philistims? And the Lord answered Dauid, Go and smite the Philistims, and saue Keilah.
Und David befragte Jehova und sprach: Soll ich hinziehen und diese Philister schlagen? Und Jehova sprach zu David: Ziehe hin, und schlage die Philister und rette Kehila.
3 And Dauids men said vnto him, See, we be afrayde here in Iudah, howe much more if we come to Keilah against the hoste of ye Philistims?
Aber die Männer Davids sprachen zu ihm: Siehe, wir fürchten uns hier in Juda, und wie sollten wir gar nach Kehila wider die Schlachtreihen der Philister ziehen?
4 Then Dauid asked counsell of the Lord againe. And the Lord answered him, and sayd, Arise, go downe to Keilah: for I wil deliuer the Philistims into thine hand.
Da befragte David wiederum Jehova, und Jehova antwortete ihm und sprach: Mache dich auf, ziehe nach Kehila hinab; denn ich werde die Philister in deine Hand geben.
5 So Dauid and his men went to Keilah, and fought with the Philistims, and brought away their cattel, and smote them with a great slaughter: thus Dauid saued the inhabitants of Keilah.
Und David zog mit seinen Männern nach Kehila und stritt wider die Philister, und er trieb ihr Vieh weg und richtete eine große Niederlage unter ihnen an. Und so rettete David die Bewohner von Kehila. -
6 (And when Abiathar the sonne of Ahimelech fled to Dauid to Keilah, he brought an Ephod with him)
Es geschah aber, als Abjathar, der Sohn Ahimelechs, zu David nach Kehila floh, da kam er hinab mit einem Ephod in seiner Hand.
7 And it was tolde Saul that Dauid was come to Keilah, and Saul sayd, God hath deliuered him into mine hand: for he is shut in, seeing he is come into a citie that hath gates and barres.
Und es wurde Saul berichtet, daß David nach Kehila gekommen wäre. Da sprach Saul: Gott hat ihn verworfen und in meine Hand überliefert; denn er hat sich eingeschlossen, indem er in eine Stadt mit Toren und Riegeln gekommen ist.
8 Then Saul called all the people together to warre, for to go downe to Keilah, and to besiege Dauid and his men.
Und Saul rief alles Volk, zum Streit auf, um nach Kehila hinabzuziehen, David und seine Männer zu belagern.
9 And Dauid hauing knowledge that Saul imagined mischiefe against him, saide to Abiathar the Priest, Bring the Ephod.
Und als David erfuhr, daß Saul Böses wider ihn schmiedete, da sprach er zu Abjathar, dem Priester: Bringe das Ephod her!
10 Then sayde Dauid, O Lord God of Israel, thy seruat hath heard, that Saul is about to come to Keilah to destroy the citie for my sake.
Und David sprach: Jehova, Gott Israels! dein Knecht hat für gewiß gehört, daß Saul danach trachtet, nach Kehila zu kommen, um die Stadt zu verderben um meinetwillen.
11 Wil the lordes of Keilah deliuer me vp into his hand? and will Saul come downe, as thy seruant hath heard? O Lord God of Israel, I beseech thee, tell thy seruant. And the Lord sayde, He will come downe.
Werden die Bürger von Kehila mich seiner Hand ausliefern? wird Saul herabziehen, wie dein Knecht gehört hat? Jehova, Gott Israels, tue es doch deinem Knechte kund! Und Jehova sprach: Er wird herabziehen.
12 Then said Dauid, Will the lords of Keilah deliuer me vp, and the men that are with me, into the hand of Saul? And the Lord sayde, They will deliuer thee vp.
Und David sprach: Werden die Bürger von Kehila mich und meine Männer der Hand Sauls ausliefern? Und Jehova sprach: Sie werden dich ausliefern.
13 Then Dauid and his men, which were about sixe hundreth, arose, and departed out of Keilah, and went whither they coulde. And it was tolde Saul, that Dauid was fled from Keilah, and he left off his iourney.
Da machten David und seine Männer sich auf, bei sechshundert Mann, und sie zogen von Kehila aus und gingen, wohin sie gehen konnten. Und es wurde Saul berichtet, daß David aus Kehila entronnen wäre; da stand er davon ab auszuziehen.
14 And Dauid abode in the wildernesse in holdes, and remayned in a mountaine in the wildernes of Ziph. And Saul sought him euery day, but God deliuered him not into his hand.
Und David blieb in der Wüste auf den Bergfesten, und er blieb auf dem Gebirge in der Wüste Siph. Und Saul suchte ihn alle Tage, aber Gott gab ihn nicht in seine Hand.
15 And Dauid sawe that Saul was come out for to seeke his life: and Dauid was in the wildernes of Ziph in the wood.
Und David sah, daß Saul ausgezogen war, um nach seinem Leben zu trachten; und David war in der Wüste Siph, im Walde. [O. in Choresch, so auch v 18. und 19]
16 And Ionathan Sauls sonne arose and went to Dauid into the wood, and comforted him in God,
Da machte sich Jonathan, der Sohn Sauls, auf und ging zu David in den Wald [O. nach Choresch] und stärkte seine Hand in Gott.
17 And said vnto him, Feare not: for the hand of Saul my father shall not finde thee, and thou shalt be King ouer Israel, and I shalbe next vnto thee: and also Saul my father knoweth it.
Und er sprach zu ihm: Fürchte dich nicht! denn die Hand meines Vaters Saul wird dich nicht finden; und du wirst König werden über Israel, und ich werde der zweite nach dir sein; und auch mein Vater Saul weiß es so.
18 So they twaine made a couenant before ye Lord: and Dauid did remaine in the wood: but Ionathan went to his house.
Und sie schlossen beide einen Bund vor Jehova. Und David blieb im Walde, und Jonathan ging nach seinem Hause.
19 Then came vp the Ziphims to Saul to Gibeah, saying, Doeth not Dauid hide himselfe by vs in holdes, in the wood in the hill of Hachilah, which is on the right side of Ieshimon?
Da zogen die Siphiter zu Saul hinauf, nach Gibea, und sprachen: Hält sich David nicht bei uns verborgen auf den Bergfesten im Walde, auf dem Hügel Hakila, der zur Rechten [d. h. südlich; so auch v 24] der Wildnis ist?
20 Nowe therefore, O King, come downe according to all that thine heart can desire, and our part shall be to deliuer him into the Kinges handes.
Und nun, o König, wenn irgend deine Seele es begehrt, herabzukommen, so komm herab; und an uns ist es, ihn der Hand des Königs auszuliefern.
21 Then Saul said, Be ye blessed of the Lord: for ye haue had compassion on mee.
Und Saul sprach: Gesegnet seiet ihr von Jehova, daß ihr euch meiner erbarmt habt!
22 Goe, I pray you, and prepare ye yet better: know and see his place where he haunteth, and who hath seene him there: for it is sayd to me, He is subtile, and craftie.
Gehet doch hin, vergewissert euch noch mehr, und erkundet und sehet seinen Ort, wo sein Fuß weilt, und wer ihn daselbst gesehen hat; denn man hat mir gesagt, er sei sehr listig.
23 See therefore and know all the secret places where he hideth himselfe, and come ye againe to me with the certaintie, and I will goe with you: and if he be in the lande, I will searche him out throughout all the thousands of Iudah.
Und besehet und kundet alle Schlupfwinkel aus, wo er sich versteckt hält, und kommet wieder zu mir mit sicherer Kunde; und ich werde mit euch gehen. Und es soll geschehen, wenn er im Lande ist, so will ich ihn aufspüren unter allen Tausenden Judas!
24 Then they arose and went to Ziph before Saul, but Dauid and his men were in the wildernesse of Maon, in the playne on the right hande of Ieshimon.
Und sie machten sich auf und gingen nach Siph, vor Saul her. David und seine Männer waren aber in der Wüste Maon, in der Ebene, [H. Araba; vergl. 5. Mose 1,1] zur Rechten der Wildnis.
25 Saul also and his men went to seeke him, and they told Dauid: wherefore he came downe vnto a rocke, and abode in the wildernesse of Maon. And when Saul heard that, he folowed after Dauid in the wildernes of Maon.
Und Saul und seine Männer zogen hin, um ihn zu suchen; und man berichtete es David, und er ging den Felsen hinab und blieb in der Wüste Maon. Und als Saul es hörte, jagte er David nach in die Wüste Maon.
26 And Saul and his men went on the one side of the mountaine, and Dauid and his men on the other side of the mountaine: and Dauid made haste to get from the presence of Saul: for Saul and his men compassed Dauid and his men round about, to take them.
Und Saul ging auf dieser Seite des Berges, David aber und seine Männer auf jener Seite des Berges. Und es geschah, als David eilte, [O. ängstlich bemüht war] Saul zu entgehen, und Saul und seine Männer David und seine Männer umringten, um sie zu fangen,
27 But there came a messenger to Saul, saying, Haste thee, and come: for the Philistims haue inuaded the land.
da kam ein Bote zu Saul und sprach: Eile und komm, denn die Philister sind ins Land eingefallen!
28 Wherefore Saul returned from pursuing Dauid, and went against the Philistims. Therefore they called that place, Sela-hammahlekoth.
Da kehrte Saul um von der Verfolgung Davids und zog den Philistern entgegen. Daher nannte man jenen Ort: Selach-Hammachlekoth. [Fels der Trennung [and.: des Entschlüpfens]]
29 And Dauid went thence, and dwelt in holdes at En-gedi.
Und David zog von dannen hinauf und blieb auf den Bergfesten von Engedi.
