1 Samuel 23

1 Then they tolde Dauid, saying, Beholde, the Philistims fight against Keilah, and spoyle the barnes.

Pastaj i thanë Davidit: “Ja, Filistejtë janë duke luftuar kundër Kejlahut dhe po plaçkisnin lëmenjtë”.

2 Therfore Dauid asked counsel of the Lord, saying, Shal I goe and smite these Philistims? And the Lord answered Dauid, Go and smite the Philistims, and saue Keilah.

Kështu Davidi u këshillua me Zotin, duke thënë: “Të shkoj unë t’i mund këta Filistej?”. Zoti iu përgjegj me këto fjalë Davidit: “Shko, mundi Filistejtë dhe shpëto Kejlahun”.

3 And Dauids men said vnto him, See, we be afrayde here in Iudah, howe much more if we come to Keilah against the hoste of ye Philistims?

Por njerëzit e Davidit i thanë: “Ja, ne na ka zënë frika që këtu në Jude, si do të bëhet pastaj në rast se shkojmë në Kejlah kundër trupave të Filistejve?”.

4 Then Dauid asked counsell of the Lord againe. And the Lord answered him, and sayd, Arise, go downe to Keilah: for I wil deliuer the Philistims into thine hand.

Davidi u këshillua përsëri me Zotin dhe Zoti iu përgjegj dhe i tha: “Çohu, zbrit në Kejlah, sepse unë do t’i jap Filistejtë në duart e tua”.

5 So Dauid and his men went to Keilah, and fought with the Philistims, and brought away their cattel, and smote them with a great slaughter: thus Dauid saued the inhabitants of Keilah.

Atëherë Davidi shkoi me njerëzit e tij në Kejlah, luftoi kundër Filistejve, ua mori bagëtinë dhe bëri kërdi të madhe në radhët e tyre. Kështu Davidi çliroi banorët e Kejlahut.

6 (And when Abiathar the sonne of Ahimelech fled to Dauid to Keilah, he brought an Ephod with him)

Kur Abiathari, bir i Ahimelekut, u strehua pranë Davidit në Kejlah, solli me vete edhe efodin.

7 And it was tolde Saul that Dauid was come to Keilah, and Saul sayd, God hath deliuered him into mine hand: for he is shut in, seeing he is come into a citie that hath gates and barres.

Saulin e njoftuan që Davidi kishte arritur në Kejlah. Atëherë Sauli tha: “Perëndia e ka dorëzuar në duart e mia, sepse vajti të mbyllet në një qytet që ka porta dhe shule”.

8 Then Saul called all the people together to warre, for to go downe to Keilah, and to besiege Dauid and his men.

Sauli mblodhi tërë popullin për luftë, për të zbritur në Kejlah dhe për të rrethuar Davidin dhe njerëzit e tij.

9 And Dauid hauing knowledge that Saul imagined mischiefe against him, saide to Abiathar the Priest, Bring the Ephod.

Kur Davidi mësoi që Sauli po kurdiste të keqen kundër tij, i tha priftit Abiathar: “Sille këtu efodin”.

10 Then sayde Dauid, O Lord God of Israel, thy seruat hath heard, that Saul is about to come to Keilah to destroy the citie for my sake.

Pastaj Davidi tha: “O Zot, Perëndi i Izraelit, shërbëtori yt e ka kuptuar qartë që Sauli kërkon të vijë në Kejlah për ta shkatërruar qytetin për shkakun tim.

11 Wil the lordes of Keilah deliuer me vp into his hand? and will Saul come downe, as thy seruant hath heard? O Lord God of Israel, I beseech thee, tell thy seruant. And the Lord sayde, He will come downe.

Krerët e Kejlahut a do të më dorëzojnë në duart e tij? A do të zbresë Sauli si ka dëgjuar shërbëtori yt? O Zot, Perëndi i Izraelit, bëja të ditur shërbëtorit tënd!”. Zoti u përgjegj: “Ka për të zbritur”.

12 Then said Dauid, Will the lords of Keilah deliuer me vp, and the men that are with me, into the hand of Saul? And the Lord sayde, They will deliuer thee vp.

Davidi pyeti akoma: “Krerët e Kejlahut a do të më dorëzojnë mua dhe njerëzit e mi në duart e Saulit?”. Zoti u përgjegj: “Do t’ju dorëzojnë”.

13 Then Dauid and his men, which were about sixe hundreth, arose, and departed out of Keilah, and went whither they coulde. And it was tolde Saul, that Dauid was fled from Keilah, and he left off his iourney.

Atëherë Davidi dhe njerëzit e tij, rreth gjashtëqind veta, dolën nga Kejlahu dhe brodhën sa andej e këtej. Kur Sauli u njoftua që Davidi kishte ikur nga Kejlahu, ai hoqi dorë nga fushata e tij.

14 And Dauid abode in the wildernesse in holdes, and remayned in a mountaine in the wildernes of Ziph. And Saul sought him euery day, but God deliuered him not into his hand.

Davidi banoi në fortesa të shkretëtirës dhe qëndroi në krahinën malore të shkretëtirës së Zifit. Sauli e kërkonte vazhdimisht, por Perëndia nuk ia dorëzoi në dorë.

15 And Dauid sawe that Saul was come out for to seeke his life: and Dauid was in the wildernes of Ziph in the wood.

Davidi, duke ditur që Sauli ishte nisur për ta vrarë, mbeti në shkretëtirën e Zifit, në pyll.

16 And Ionathan Sauls sonne arose and went to Dauid into the wood, and comforted him in God,

Atëherë Jonathani, bir i Saulit, u ngrit dhe shkoi te Davidi në pyll; dhe e ndihmoi të gjejë forcë te Perëndia.

17 And said vnto him, Feare not: for the hand of Saul my father shall not finde thee, and thou shalt be King ouer Israel, and I shalbe next vnto thee: and also Saul my father knoweth it.

Pastaj i tha: “Mos ki frikë, sepse Sauli, ati im, nuk do të arrijë të të shtjerë në dorë; ti do të mbretërosh mbi Izraelin dhe unë do të jem i dyti pas teje. Vetë Sauli, ati im, e di këtë”.

18 So they twaine made a couenant before ye Lord: and Dauid did remaine in the wood: but Ionathan went to his house.

Kështu të dy bënë një besëlidhje para Zotit; pas kësaj Davidi mbeti në pyll, kurse Jonathani shkoi në shtëpinë e tij.

19 Then came vp the Ziphims to Saul to Gibeah, saying, Doeth not Dauid hide himselfe by vs in holdes, in the wood in the hill of Hachilah, which is on the right side of Ieshimon?

Pastaj Zifejtë shkuan te Sauli në Gibeah dhe i thanë: “A nuk rri Davidi i fshehur në fortesa në pyll, mbi kodrën e Hakilahut që ndodhet në jug të shkretëtirës?

20 Nowe therefore, O King, come downe according to all that thine heart can desire, and our part shall be to deliuer him into the Kinges handes.

Prandaj, o mbret, zbrit, sepse gjithë dëshira e shpirtit tënd është të zbresësh; do të mendojmë ne ta dorëzojmë në duart e mbretit”.

21 Then Saul said, Be ye blessed of the Lord: for ye haue had compassion on mee.

Sauli tha: “Qofshi të bekuar nga Zoti, sepse ju ka ardhur keq për mua!

22 Goe, I pray you, and prepare ye yet better: know and see his place where he haunteth, and who hath seene him there: for it is sayd to me, He is subtile, and craftie.

Shkoni, ju lutem, dhe sigurohuni më mirë për të njohur dhe për të parë vendin ku strehohet, dhe kush e ka parë atje, sepse më thonë që ai është shumë dinak.

23 See therefore and know all the secret places where he hideth himselfe, and come ye againe to me with the certaintie, and I will goe with you: and if he be in the lande, I will searche him out throughout all the thousands of Iudah.

Përpiquni të njihni të gjitha vendet e fshehta ku strehohet; pastaj kthehuni tek unë me lajme të sigurta dhe unë do të vij me ju. Kështu, në qoftë se ai është në atë vend, unë do ta kërkoj midis të gjithë mijërave të Judës”.

24 Then they arose and went to Ziph before Saul, but Dauid and his men were in the wildernesse of Maon, in the playne on the right hande of Ieshimon.

Atëherë ata u ngritën dhe shkuan në Zif, përpara Saulit: por Davidi dhe njerëzit e tij ishin në shkretëtirën e Maonit, në Arabah, në jug të shkretëtirës.

25 Saul also and his men went to seeke him, and they told Dauid: wherefore he came downe vnto a rocke, and abode in the wildernesse of Maon. And when Saul heard that, he folowed after Dauid in the wildernes of Maon.

Kur Sauli dhe njerëzit e tij shkuan ta kërkojnë, Davidin e kishin lajmëruar; prandaj ai zbriti te shkëmbi dhe mbeti në shkretëtirën e Maonit. Kur e mori vesh Sauli, e ndoqi Davidin në shkretëtirën e Maonit.

26 And Saul and his men went on the one side of the mountaine, and Dauid and his men on the other side of the mountaine: and Dauid made haste to get from the presence of Saul: for Saul and his men compassed Dauid and his men round about, to take them.

Sauli ecte mbi një anë të malit, ndërsa Davidi me gjithë njerëzit e tij ecnin në anën tjetër. Kur Davidi po shpejtonte marshimin e tij për t’i shpëtuar Saulit, ndërsa Sauli dhe njerëzit e tij ishin duke rrethuar Davidin dhe njerëzit e tij për t’i kapur,

27 But there came a messenger to Saul, saying, Haste thee, and come: for the Philistims haue inuaded the land.

arriti te Sauli një lajmëtar që tha: “Shpejtohu të vish, sepse Filistejtë kanë pushtuar vendin”.

28 Wherefore Saul returned from pursuing Dauid, and went against the Philistims. Therefore they called that place, Sela-hammahlekoth.

Kështu Sauli nuk e ndoqi më Davidin dhe shkoi të përballojë Filistejtë; prandaj ky vend u quajt “shkëmbi i ndarjes”.

29 And Dauid went thence, and dwelt in holdes at En-gedi.

Pastaj që andej Davidi shkoi për t’u vendosur në fortesat e En-Gedit.
