1 Samuel 2
1 And Hannah prayed, and said, Mine heart reioyceth in the Lord, mine horne is exalted in the Lord: my mouth is enlarged ouer mine enemies, because I reioyce in thy saluation.
Wtedy Anna modliła się i powiedziała: Moje serce raduje się w PANU, mój róg jest wywyższony w PANU. Moje usta szeroko otworzyły się przeciwko moim wrogom, gdyż raduję się z twego zbawienia.
2 There is none holy as the Lord: yea, there is none besides thee, and there is no god like our God.
Nikt nie jest tak święty jak PAN. Nie ma bowiem nikogo oprócz ciebie i nikt nie jest taką skałą jak nasz Bóg.
3 Speake no more presumptuously: let not arrogancie come out of your mouth: for the Lord is a God of knowledge, and by him enterprises are established.
Nie mówcie już pysznych słów i niech z waszych ust nie wychodzą słowa wyniosłe. PAN bowiem [jest] Bogiem wiedzy, on waży czyny.
4 The bow and the mightie men are broken, and the weake haue girded themselues with strength.
Łuki mocarzy [zostały] złamane, a słabi są przepasani mocą.
5 They that were full, are hired foorth for bread, and the hungrie are no more hired, so that the barren hath borne seuen: and shee that had many children, is feeble.
Syci najmują się za chleb, a głodni przestali [głodować]. Nawet niepłodna urodziła siedmioro, a wielodzietna więdnie.
PAN zabija i ożywia, wprowadza do grobu i wyprowadza. (Sheol h7585)
7 The Lord maketh poore and maketh rich: bringeth lowe, and exalteth.
PAN czyni ubogim i bogatym, poniża i wywyższa.
8 He raiseth vp ye poore out of the dust, and lifteth vp the begger from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherite the seate of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the Lordes, and he hath set the world vpon them.
Podnosi z prochu ubogiego, a z gnoju podnosi żebraka, by posadzić ich z książętami i pozwolić im odziedziczyć tron chwały. Do PANA bowiem należą filary ziemi, na nich osadził świat.
9 Hee will keepe the feete of his Saintes, and the wicked shall keepe silence in darkenes: for in his owne might shall no man be strong.
Strzeże stóp swych świętych, a bezbożni zamilkną w ciemności, bo nie swoją siłą zwycięży człowiek.
10 The Lordes aduersaries shall be destroyed, and out of heauen shall he thunder vpon them: the Lord shall iudge the endes of the worlde, and shall giue power vnto his King, and exalt the horne of his Anoynted.
PAN pokruszy swoich przeciwników i zagrzmi przeciwko nim z nieba. PAN będzie sądził krańce ziemi, udzieli siły swemu królowi i wywyższy róg swego pomazańca.
11 And Elkanah went to Ramah to his house, and the childe did minister vnto the Lord before Eli the Priest.
Potem Elkana wrócił do Rama, do swego domu, a dziecko służyło PANU przy kapłanie Helim.
12 Now the sonnes of Eli were wicked men, and knewe not the Lord.
Lecz synowie Heliego byli synami Beliala i nie znali PANA.
13 For the Priestes custome towarde the people was this: when any man offered sacrifice, the Priestes boy came, while the flesh was seething, and a fleshhooke with three teeth, in his hand,
Był bowiem taki zwyczaj kapłanów wobec ludu: kiedy ktoś składał ofiarę, sługa kapłana przychodził, gdy mięso się gotowało, z trójzębnymi widelcami w ręce.
14 And thrust it into the kettle, or into the caldron, or into the panne, or into the potte: all that the fleshhooke brought vp, the Priest tooke for himselfe: thus they did vnto all the Israelites, that came thither to Shiloh.
I wkładał je do garnka, kotła, rondla lub misy i to, co wyjął widełkami, kapłan zabierał dla siebie. Tak czynili w Szilo wszystkim Izraelitom, którzy tam przychodzili.
15 Yea, before they burnt the fat, the priests boy came and saide to the man that offered, Giue me flesh to rost for the priest: for he wil not haue sodden flesh of thee, but rawe.
Ponadto, zanim jeszcze spalono tłuszcz, przychodził sługa kapłana i mówił do człowieka składającego ofiary: Daj mięso na pieczeń dla kapłana, bo nie weźmie on od ciebie mięsa gotowanego, tylko surowe.
16 And if any man saide vnto him, Let them burne the fatte according to the custome, then take as much as thine heart desireth: then hee would answere, No, but thou shalt giue it nowe: and if thou wilt not, I will take it by force.
A jeśli taki człowiek mu odpowiedział: Niech najpierw spalą tłuszcz, a potem weź sobie, czego pragnie twoja dusza, wtedy on mówił: Nic z tego! Daj teraz! A jeśli nie dasz, zabiorę siłą.
17 Therefore the sinne of the yong men was very great before the Lord: for men abhorred the offering of the Lord.
Tak więc grzech tych sług był bardzo wielki przed PANEM, gdyż ludzie lekceważyli ofiary PANA.
18 Now Samuel being a yong childe ministred before the Lord, girded with a linen Ephod.
Samuel zaś służył przed PANEM jako chłopiec, przepasany lnianym efodem.
19 And his mother made him a litle coat, and brought it to him from yeere to yeere, when she came vp with her husband, to offer the yerely sacrifice.
A jego matka robiła mu mały płaszcz i przynosiła mu [go] co roku, gdy chodziła z mężem składać doroczną ofiarę.
20 And Eli blessed Elkanah and his wife, and said, The Lord giue thee seede of this woman, for the petition that she asked of the Lord: and they departed vnto their place.
I Heli błogosławił Elkanie i jego żonie, mówiąc: Niech PAN da ci potomstwo z tej kobiety za uproszonego, którego oddała PANU. I wracali do swojego domu.
21 And the Lord visited Hannah, so that she conceiued, and bare three sonnes, and two daughters. And the childe Samuel grewe before the Lord.
I PAN nawiedził Annę, a ona poczęła i urodziła trzech synów i dwie córki. A chłopiec Samuel dorastał przed PANEM.
22 So Eli was very olde, and heard all that his sonnes did vnto all Israel, and howe they laye with the women that assembled at the doore of the tabernacle of the Congregation.
Heli zaś bardzo się zestarzał i usłyszał o wszystkim, co jego synowie czynili wobec całego Izraela, oraz o tym, że obcowali z kobietami, które się zbierały przy wejściu do Namiotu Zgromadzenia.
23 And hee saide vnto them, Why doe ye such things? for of all this people I heare euill reportes of you.
I powiedział do nich: Dlaczego czynicie takie rzeczy? Słyszę o waszych złych czynach od całego ludu.
24 Do no more, my sonnes, for it is no good report that I heare, which is, that ye make the Lords people to trespasse.
Nie, moi synowie, gdyż niedobra to wieść, którą słyszę. Doprowadzacie lud PANA do przestępstwa.
25 If one man sinne against another, the Iudge shall iudge it: but if a man sinne against the Lord, who will pleade for him? Notwithstanding they obeyed not the voyce of their father, because the Lord would slay them.
Jeśli człowiek zgrzeszy przeciw człowiekowi, będzie go sądzić sędzia, ale jeśli człowiek zgrzeszy przeciw PANU, któż się za nim wstawi? Oni jednak nie posłuchali głosu swego ojca, bo PAN chciał ich zabić.
26 (Nowe the childe Samuel profited and grewe, and was in fauour both with the Lord and also with men)
A chłopiec Samuel rósł i podobał się zarówno PANU, jak i ludziom.
27 And there came a man of God vnto Eli, and said vnto him, Thus saith the Lord, Did not I plainely appeare vnto the house of thy father, when they were in Egypt in Pharaohs house?
Potem przyszedł mąż Boży do Heliego i powiedział mu: Tak mówi PAN: Czy nie objawiłem się wyraźnie domowi twego ojca, gdy byli w Egipcie w domu faraona?
28 And I chose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be my Priest, to offer vpon mine altar, and to burne incense, and to weare an Ephod before me, and I gaue vnto the house of thy father all the offrings made by fire of the children of Israel.
I wybrałem go sobie spośród wszystkich pokoleń Izraela na kapłana, aby składał ofiary na moim ołtarzu, palił kadzidło i nosił efod przede mną. Dałem też domowi twego ojca wszystkie ofiary ogniowe od synów Izraela.
29 Wherefore haue you kicked against my sacrifice and mine offering, which I commanded in my Tabernacle, and honourest thy children aboue mee, to make your selues fatte of the first fruites of all the offerings of Israel my people?
Dlaczego podeptaliście moją ofiarę krwawą i pokarmową, które rozkazałem [składać] w przybytku? Dlaczego [bardziej] uczciłeś swoich synów ode mnie, abyście utuczyli się z pierwocin wszystkich ofiar pokarmowych Izraela, mojego ludu?
30 Wherefore the Lord God of Israel saith, I saide, that thine house and the house of thy father should walke before mee for euer: but nowe the Lord saith, It shall not be so: for them that honour me, I will honour, and they that despise me, shall be despised.
Dlatego PAN, Bóg Izraela, mówi: Wprawdzie powiedziałem: Twój dom i dom twego ojca będzie chodzić przede mną na wieki, ale teraz PAN mówi: Nie będzie tak! Tych bowiem, którzy mnie czczą, ja będę czcić, a ci, którzy mną gardzą, będą wzgardzeni.
31 Beholde, the dayes come, that I will cut off thine arme, and the arme of thy fathers house, that there shall not be an olde man in thine house.
Oto nadchodzą dni, gdy odetnę twe ramię i ramię domu twego ojca, aby już nie było starca w twoim domu;
32 And thou shalt see thine enemie in the habitation of the Lord in all thinges wherewith God shall blesse Israel, and there shall not be an olde man in thine house for euer.
I zobaczysz przeciwnika w przybytku, wśród całego szczęścia, którego Bóg udzieli Izraelowi, i nie będzie starca w twoim domu po wszystkie dni.
33 Neuerthelesse, I will not destroy euery one of thine from mine altar, to make thine eyes to faile, and to make thine heart sorowfull: and all ye multitude of thine house shall die when they be men.
Lecz nie wytracę od swego ołtarza każdego człowieka spośród ciebie, aby trapić twe oczy i ścisnąć boleścią twoją duszę. Cały przyrost twego domu umrze w sile wieku.
34 And this shalbe a signe vnto thee, that shall come vpon thy two sonnes Hophni and Phinehas: in one day they shall die both.
A to będzie znakiem, który przyjdzie na twoich dwóch synów, Chofniego i Pinchasa: obydwaj umrą tego samego dnia.
35 And I will stirre me vp a faithfull Priest, that shall do according to mine heart and according to my minde: and I wil build him a sure house, and he shall walke before mine Anointed for euer.
I wzbudzę sobie kapłana wiernego, [który] będzie postępował według mego serca i mojej myśli. Zbuduję mu trwały dom, a on będzie chodził przed moim pomazańcem po wszystkie dni.
36 And all that are left in thine house, shall come and bowe downe to him for a piece of siluer and a morsell of bread, and shall say, Appoint me, I pray thee, to one of the priestes offices, that I may eate a morsell of bread.
I stanie się tak, że ktokolwiek pozostanie w twoim domu, ten przyjdzie i pokłoni mu się za srebrną monetę i za kawałek chleba, mówiąc: Dopuść mnie, proszę, do jednego z [urzędów] kapłańskich, abym mógł jeść kawałek chleba.
