1 Samuel 10
1 Then Samuel tooke a viole of oyle and powred it vpon his head, and kissed him, and saide, Hath not the Lord anointed thee to be gouernour ouer his inheritance?
Då tog Samuel ett oljoglas, och göt uppå hans hufvud, och kysste honom, och sade: Ser du, att Herren hafver smort dig till en Första öfver hans arfvedel?
2 When thou shalt depart from me this day, thou shalt finde two men by Rahels sepulchre in the border of Beniamin, euen at Zelzah, and they will say vnto thee, The asses which thou wentest to seeke, are founde: and lo, thy father hath left the care of the asses, and soroweth for you, saying, What shall I doe for my sonne?
När du nu går ifrå mig, så finner du två män vid Rachels graf i BenJamins gränso i Zelzah; de skola säga till dig: Åsninnorna äro funna, der du efter gången äst, dem att söka; och si, din fader hafver öfvergifvit tänka på åsnarna, och sörjer om eder, och säger: Hvad skall jag göra om min son?
3 Then shalt thou go forth from thence and shalt come to the plaine of Tabor, and there shall meete thee three men going vp to God to Bethel: one carying three kiddes, and an other carying three loaues of bread, and another carying a bottle of wine:
Och när du går dädan fram bätter, så kommer du till den eken Thabor; der skola tre män råka dig, som gå upp till Gud i BethEl, den ene bär tre kid, den andre tre bröd, den tredje en flasko med vin.
4 And they will aske thee if all be well, and will giue thee the two loaues of bread, which thou shalt receiue of their handes.
Och de skola helsa dig vänliga, och gifva dig tu bröd, det skall du taga af deras händer.
5 After that shalt thou come to the hill of God, where is the garisons of the Philistims: and when thou art come thither to the citie, thou shalt meete a companie of Prophets comming downe from the hie place with a viole, and a tymbrell, and a pipe, and an harpe before them, and they shall prophecie.
Sedan kommer du på Guds hög, der de Philisteers lägre är; och när du kommer derin i staden, möta dig en hop med Propheter, som komne äro af höjdene, och för dem en psaltare, och trumma, och pipa, och harpa, och de prophetera.
6 Then the Spirit of the Lord will come vpon thee, and thou shalt prophecie with them, and shalt be turned into another man.
Och Herrans Ande skall komma öfver dig, att du propheterar med dem; och då skall du varda en annar man.
7 Therefore when these signes shall come vnto to thee, doe as occasion shall serue: for God is with thee.
När nu dessa tecknen komma dig, så gör allt det dig för handen kommer; ty Gud är med dig.
8 And thou shalt goe downe before me to Gilgal: and I also will come downe vnto thee to offer burnt offerings, and to sacrifice sacrifices of peace. Tary for me seuen dayes, till I come to thee and shewe thee what thou shalt doe.
Men du skall gå neder för mig till Gilgal; si, der vill jag komma neder till dig, till att offra bränneoffer och tackoffer. I sju dagar skall du bida, tilldess jag kommer till dig, och undervisar dig hvad du göra skall.
9 And when he had turned his backe to goe from Samuel, God gaue him another heart: and all those tokens came to passe that same day.
Och som han vände ryggen åt Samuel, och gick ifrå honom, gaf honom Gud ett annat hjerta; och all dessa tecknen kommo på den dagen.
10 And when they came thither to the hill, beholde, the companie of Prophets meete him, and the Spirit of God came vpon him, and he prophecied among them.
Och då de kommo till högen, si, då mötte honom en hop Propheter; och Guds Ande kom öfver honom, så att han propheterade med dem.
11 Therefore all the people that knewe him before, when they saw that he prophecied among the Prophets, saide eche to other, What is come vnto the sonne of Kish? is Saul also among the Prophets?
Då de nu alle sågo honom, som tillförene hade känt honom, att han propheterade med Propheterna, sade de till hvarannan: Hvad är Kis son tillkommet? Är ock Saul ibland Propheterna?
12 And one of the same place answered, and said, But who is their father? Therefore it was a prouerbe, Is Saul also among the Prophets?
Och en svarade der, och sade: Ho är deras fader? Dädan är det ordspråket kommet: Är ock Saul ibland Propheterna?
13 And when he had made an ende of prophecying, he came to the hie place.
Och då han utpropheterat hade, kom han upp till höjdena.
14 And Sauls vncle saide vnto him, and to his seruant, Whither went ye? And he saide, To seeke the asses: and when we sawe that they were no where, we came to Samuel.
Men Sauls faderbroder sade till honom, och till hans dräng: Hvart voren I gånge? De svarade: Till att uppsöka åsnar; och då vi såge att vi funne dem icke, komme vi till Samuel.
15 And Sauls vncle saide, Tell me, I pray thee, what Samuel said vnto you.
Då sade Sauls faderbroder: Säg mig, hvad sade eder Samuel?
16 Then Saul saide to his vncle, He tolde vs plainely that the asses were founde: but concerning the kingdome whereof Samuel spake, tolde he him not.
Saul svarade sinom faderbroder: Han sade oss, att åsninnorna funna voro; men om Konungariket sade han honom intet, hvad Samuel sagt hade.
17 And Samuel assembled the people vnto the Lord in Mizpeh,
Samuel kallade folket in till Herran i Mizpa;
18 And he saide vnto the children of Israel, Thus saith ye Lord God of Israel, I haue brought Israel out of Egypt, and deliuered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the handes of all kingdomes that troubled you.
Och sade till Israels barn: Så säger Herren Israels Gud: Jag förde eder utur Egypten, och frälste eder utu de Egyptiers hand, och utur all Konungarikes hand som eder tvingade.
19 But ye haue this day cast away your God, who onely deliuereth you out of all your aduersities and tribulations: and ye said vnto him, No, but appoint a King ouer vs. Nowe therefore stand ye before the Lord according to your tribes, and according to your thousands.
Och I hafven i dag förkastat edar Gud, som eder utur all edor olycko och bedröfvelse hulpit hafver, och sägen till honom: Sätt en Konung öfver oss. Nu väl, så går nu fram för Herran efter edor slägter och hus.
20 And when Samuel had gathered together all the tribes of Israel, the tribe of Beniamin was taken.
Som nu Samuel framhade alla Israels slägter, vardt råkadt inpå BenJamins slägt.
21 Afterwarde he assembled the tribe of Beniamin according to their families, and the familie of Matri was taken. So Saul the sonne of Kish was taken, and when they sought him, he coulde not be found.
Och som han hade BenJamins slägt fram med hennes ätter, vardt råkadt inpå Matri ätt, och råkade inpå Saul, Kis son; och de sökte efter honom, men de funno honom intet.
22 Therefore they asked the Lord againe, if that man should yet come thither. And the Lord answered, Beholde, he hath hid himselfe among the stuffe.
Då frågade de åter Herran, om han ännu skulle ditkomma? Herren svarade: Si, han hafver undstungit sig under ett fat.
23 And they ranne, and brought him thence: and when he stoode among the people, he was hier then any of the people from the shoulders vpwarde.
Då lupo de dit, och hemtade honom. Och då han gick fram ibland folket, var han hufvudet högre än allt folket.
24 And Samuel saide to all the people, See ye not him, whom the Lord hath chosen, that there is none like him among all the people? and all the people shouted and saide, God saue the King.
Och Samuel sade till allt folket: Här sen I, hvem Herren utvalt hafver; ty hans like är icke ibland allt folket. Då gladdes allt folket, och sade: Lycka ske Konungenom.
25 Then Samuel tolde the people the duetie of the kingdome, and wrote it in a booke, and laied it vp before the Lord, and Samuel sent all the people away euery man to his house.
Och Samuel sade folkena all riksens rätt, och skref det uti ena bok, och ladet inför Herran. Och Samuel lät allt folket gå, hvar och en i sitt hus.
26 Saul also went home to Gibeah, and there followed him a bande of men, whose heart God had touched,
Och Saul gick ock hem till Gibea, och en del af hären gick med honom, hvilkes hjerta Gud rörde.
27 But the wicked men saide, Howe shall hee saue vs? So they despised him, and brought him no presents: but he held his tongue.
Men somlige Belials barn sade: Hvad skulle denne hjelpa oss? Och föraktade honom, och båro honom inga gåfvor; men han låts som han intet hörde det.
