1 John 1
1 That which was from the beginning, which wee haue heard, which wee haue seene with these our eyes, which wee haue looked vpon, and these handes of ours haue handled of that Word of life,
Esta carta é sobre a Palavra da Vida, que existia desde o princípio. Nós ouvimos sobre ela, a vimos e a contemplamos com os nossos próprios olhos e também a tocamos com as nossas mãos.
2 (For that life was made manifest, and wee haue seene it, and beare witnes, and shewe vnto you that eternall life, which was with the Father, and was made manifest vnto vs) (aiōnios g166)
Essa Vida nos foi revelada; nós a vimos e damos o nosso testemunho a respeito dela. Estamos lhes escrevendo a respeito daquele que é a Vida Eterna, que estava com o Pai e que nos foi revelado. (aiōnios g166)
3 That, I say, which wee haue seene and heard, declare wee vnto you, that yee may also haue fellowship with vs, and that our fellowship also may be with the Father, and with his Sonne Iesvs Christ.
Agora, explicaremos a vocês o que vimos e ouvimos, para que, assim, vocês também possam fazer parte desse laço de amizade juntamente conosco; da amizade que temos com o Pai e também com o seu Filho, Jesus Cristo.
4 And these thinges write we vnto you, that that your ioy may be full.
Nós escrevemos para lhes contar a respeito disso, para que a nossa felicidade fique completa.
5 This then is the message which wee haue heard of him, and declare vnto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkenes.
Esta é a mensagem que recebemos dele e que anunciamos a vocês: Deus é luz, e não há nele nenhuma escuridão.
6 If wee say that wee haue fellowship with him, and walke in darkenesse, we lie, and doe not truely:
Se nós afirmamos que temos amizade com ele e, ainda assim, vivermos nas trevas, estaremos mentindo, e não vivendo na verdade.
7 But if we walke in the light as he is in the light, we haue fellowship one with another, and the blood of Iesus Christ his Sonne clenseth vs from all sinne.
Porém, se estivermos vivendo na luz, como Deus está na luz, então, teremos amizade uns com os outros, e o sangue de Jesus, seu Filho, nos limpa de todo pecado.
8 If we say that we haue no sinne, we deceiue our selues, and trueth is not in vs.
Se afirmamos que não temos pecados estamos apenas nos enganando, e a verdade não está em nós.
9 If we acknowledge our sinnes, he is faithfull and iust, to forgiue vs our sinnes, and to clense vs from all vnrighteousnes.
Mas, se confessarmos os nossos pecados a Deus, ele é confiável e justo para nos perdoar os nossos pecados e nos livrar de tudo o que não é justo.
10 If wee say we haue not sinned, wee make him a liar, and his word is not in vs.
Se afirmamos que não pecamos, nós fazemos de Deus um mentiroso, e a sua palavra não está em nós.
