1 Chronicles 29
1 Moreouer Dauid the King sayde vnto all the Congregation, God hath chosen Salomon mine onely sonne yong and tender, and the worke is great: for this house is not for man, but for the Lord God.
Puis, le roi David dit à toute l’assemblée: "Mon fils Salomon, qui a été seul choisi par Dieu, est jeune et faible; or, grande est l’entreprise, car ce n’est pas à un homme, c’est à l’Eternel-Dieu qu’est destiné le palais.
2 Now I haue prepared with all my power for the house of my God, golde for vessels of golde, and siluer for them of siluer, and brasse for things of brasse, yron for things of yron, and wood for things of wood, and onix stones, and stones to be set, and carbuncle stones and of diuers colours, and all precious stones, and marble stones in aboundance.
Quant à moi, j’ai mis tous mes soins à préparer en vue de la maison de mon Dieu l’or pour les objets en or, l’argent pour les objets en argent, le cuivre pour les objets en cuivre, le fer pour les objets en fer, le bois pour les objets en bois; des pierres de Choham et des pierres à enchâsser, des matériaux de stuc et des pierres bigarrées, toute espèce de pierres précieuses et des blocs de marbre en quantité.
3 Moreouer, because I haue delite in the house of my God, I haue of mine owne golde and siluer, which I haue giuen to the house of my God, beside all that I haue prepared for the house of the Sanctuarie,
Bien plus, dans mon amour pour la maison de mon Dieu, les trésors d’or et d’argent que je possède, je les ai affectés à la maison de mon Dieu, et ils dépassent tout ce que j’ai préparé pour le saint édifice.
4 Euen three thousand talents of gold of the golde of Ophir, and seuen thousand talents of fined siluer to ouerlay the walles of the houses.
Ce sont trois mille kikkar d’or, de l’or d’Ophir, et sept mille kikkar d’argent affiné destinés à revêtir les parois des salles,
5 The golde for the things of golde, and the siluer for things of siluer, and for all the worke by the handes of artificers: and who is willing to fill his hand to day vnto the Lord?
à fournir l’or pour les objets en or, l’argent pour les objets en argent, ainsi que pour tout ce que les artisans auront à confectionner. Qui d’entre vous est prêt à consacrer aujourd’hui son offrande volontaire à l’Eternel?"
6 So the princes of the families, and the princes of the tribes of Israel, and the captaines of thousands and of hundreths, with the rulers of the Kings worke, offred willingly,
Les chefs des familles, les chefs des tribus d’Israël, les chiliarques, les centurions et les chefs des travaux du roi firent des dons,
7 And they gaue for the seruice of the house of God fiue thousande talents of golde, and ten thousand pieces, and ten thousand talents of siluer, and eighteene thousand talents of brasse, and one hundreth thousand talents of yron.
et versèrent pour le service de la maison de Dieu cinq mille kikkar d’or et dix mille dariques, dix mille kikkar d’argent, dix-huit mille kikkar de cuivre et cent mille kikkar de fer.
8 And they with whom precious stones were found, gaue them to the treasure of ye house of the Lord, by the hand of Iehiel the Gershunnite.
Et ceux qui possédaient des pierres précieuses les remirent, pour le trésor du temple de l’Eternel, entre les mains de Yehiël, le Gersonite.
9 And the people reioyced when they offred willingly: for they offred willingly vnto ye Lord, with a perfite heart. And Dauid the King also reioyced with great ioy.
Le peuple se réjouit de ces libéralités, car c’est de bon cœur qu’elles étaient faites à l’Eternel. Le roi David également en éprouva une grande joie.
10 Therefore Dauid blessed the Lord before all the Congregation, and Dauid sayde, Blessed be thou, O Lord God, of Israel our father, for euer and euer.
Alors David, en présence de toute l’assemblée, loua le Seigneur, en s’exprimant ainsi: "Loué sois-tu, Eternel, Dieu d’Israël, notre Père; d’éternité en éternité!
11 Thine, O Lord, is greatnesse and power, and glory, and victorie and praise: for all that is in heauen and in earth is thine: thine is the kingdome, O Lord, and thou excellest as head ouer all.
A toi, Seigneur, appartiennent la grandeur, la puissance, la gloire, l’autorité et la majesté; car tout, au ciel et sur la terre, est tien. A toi, Eternel, la royauté et la domination suprême sur toutes choses.
12 Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest ouer all, and in thine hand is power and strength, and in thine hande it is to make great, and to giue strength vnto all.
De toi émanent richesses et honneurs: tu es le souverain maître de tout. C’Est en ta main que se trouvent force et puissance, c’est ta main qui peut tout grandir et tout affermir.
13 Now therefore our God, we thanke thee, and prayse thy glorious Name.
Aussi, à cette heure, te rendons-nous grâces et célébrons-nous ton nom glorieux.
14 But who am I, and what is my people, that we shoulde be able to offer willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee: and of thine owne hand we haue giuen thee.
En effet, que suis-je, moi, et qu’est mon peuple, pour avoir les moyens de te consacrer de telles libéralités? Certes, tout vient de toi, et c’est de ta main que nous tenons ce que nous t’avons donné.
15 For we are stragers before thee, and soiourners, like all our fathers: our dayes are like ye shadowe vpon the earth, and there is none abiding.
Comme tous nos ancêtres, nous sommes devant toi des étrangers, de simples hôtes; nos jours, sur la terre, ne sont qu’une ombre, sans nul espoir de durée.
16 O Lord our God, all this abundance that we haue prepared to buylde thee an house for thine holy Name, is of thine hand and all is thine.
Eternel, notre Dieu, toutes ces nombreuses richesses que nous avons réunies pour édifier une maison en l’honneur de ton saint nom, elles viennent de ta main, et tout t’appartient.
17 I knowe also, my God, that thou tryest the heart, and hast pleasure in righteousnesse: I haue offred willingly in the vprightnesse of mine heart all these things: now also haue I seene thy people which are found here, to offer vnto thee willingly with ioy.
Je sais, mon Dieu, que tu sondes les cœurs et aimes ce qui est équitable: or moi, c’est dans la droiture de mon cœur que je t’ai consacré tous ces dons; et de même, ton peuple ici réuni, je l’ai vu avec joie t’offrir ses dons.
18 O Lord God of Abraham, Izhak and Israel our fathers, keepe this for euer in the purpose, and the thoughts of the heart of thy people, and prepare their hearts vnto thee.
O Eternel, Dieu d’Abraham, d’Isaac et d’Israël, nos ancêtres, maintiens ainsi à jamais ces tendances, ces inspirations du cœur de ton peuple et dirige ce cœur vers toi.
19 And giue vnto Salomon my sonne a perfit heart to keepe thy commandements, thy testimonies, and thy statutes, and to doe all things, and to builde the house which I haue prepared.
Et à mon fils Salomon accorde un cœur intègre, afin qu’il respecte tes préceptes, tes lois et tes statuts et les exécute tous, et qu’il construise l’édifice dont j’ai fait les préparatifs."
20 And Dauid said to all the Congregation, Now blesse the Lord your God. And all the Congregation blessed the Lord God of their fathers, and bowed downe their heads, and worshipped the Lord and the King.
Ensuite David dit à toute l’assemblée: "Louez, je vous prie, l’Eternel, votre Dieu!" Et tous les membres de l’assemblée louèrent l’Eternel, le Dieu de leurs ancêtres; ils s’inclinèrent et se prosternèrent devant l’Eternel et devant le roi.
21 And they offred sacrifices vnto the Lord, and on the morowe after that day, they offered burnt offrings vnto the Lord, euen a thousande yong bullocks, a thousand rammes and a thousand sheepe, with their drinke offrings, and sacrifices in abundance for all Israel.
Le lendemain de ce même jour, on immola à l’Eternel des sacrifices et on lui offrit des holocaustes: mille taureaux, mille béliers, mille brebis, avec leurs libations, et d’autres sacrifices en quantité, à l’intention de tout Israël.
22 And they did eate and drinke before the Lord the same day with great ioy, and they made Salomon the sonne of Dauid King the seconde time, and anoynted him prince before the Lord, and Zadok for the hie Priest.
Ils mangèrent et burent, ce jour-là, devant l’Eternel, au milieu d’une grande joie: pour la seconde fois, on proclama roi Salomon, fils de David, on le consacra à l’Eternel comme chef ainsi que Çadok comme pontife.
23 So Salomon sate on the throne of the Lord, as King in steade of Dauid his father, and prospered: and all Israel obeyed him.
Salomon s’assit donc sur le trône de l’Eternel, pour être roi à la place de son père David; il prospéra et tout Israël lui prêta obéissance.
24 And all the princes and men of power, and all the sonnes of King Dauid submitted them selues vnder King Salomon.
Tous les chefs, tous les vaillants guerriers et aussi tous les fils du roi David se soumirent à l’autorité du roi Salomon.
25 And the Lord magnified Salomon in dignitie, in the sight of all Israel, and gaue him so glorious a kingdome, as no King had before him in Israel.
L’Eternel porta à un haut degré la grandeur de Salomon aux yeux de tout Israël, et il le couvrit d’un éclat royal tel que n’en avait possédé avant lui aucun roi en Israël.
26 Thus Dauid the sonne of Ishai reigned ouer all Israel.
David, fils de Jessé, avait régné sur tout Israël.
27 And the space that he reigned ouer Israel, was fourtie yeere: seuen yeere reigned he in Hebron, and three and thirtie yeere reigned he in Ierusalem:
Le temps qu’il avait régné sur Israël fut de quarante années: il régna à Hébron sept années, et trente-trois à Jérusalem.
28 And he dyed in a good age, full of dayes, riches and honour, and Salomon his sonne reigned in his steade.
Il mourut dans une heureuse vieillesse, rassasié d’années, de richesses et de gloire, et son fils Salomon régna à sa place.
29 Concerning the actes of Dauid the King first and last, behold, they are written in the booke of Samuel the Seer, and in the booke of Nathan the Prophet, and in the booke of Gad the Seer,
Les faits et gestes du roi David, du début à la fin, se trouvent consignés dans les récits de Samuel, le Voyant, dans ceux du prophète Nathan et dans ceux du Voyant Gad,
30 With all his reigne and his power, and times that went ouer him, and ouer Israel and ouer all the kingdomes of the earth.
avec tous les détails de son règne et de sa puissance, ainsi que des événements qui passèrent sur lui, sur Israël et sur tous les gouvernements des différents pays.
