1 Chronicles 29
1 Moreouer Dauid the King sayde vnto all the Congregation, God hath chosen Salomon mine onely sonne yong and tender, and the worke is great: for this house is not for man, but for the Lord God.
Le roi David dit à toute l’assemblée: « Mon fils Salomon, le seul que Dieu ait choisi, est jeune et faible, et l’ouvrage est considérable; car ce palais n’est pas pour un homme, mais pour Yahweh Dieu.
2 Now I haue prepared with all my power for the house of my God, golde for vessels of golde, and siluer for them of siluer, and brasse for things of brasse, yron for things of yron, and wood for things of wood, and onix stones, and stones to be set, and carbuncle stones and of diuers colours, and all precious stones, and marble stones in aboundance.
J’ai mis tous mes efforts à préparer pour la maison de mon Dieu de l’or pour les objets d’or, de l’argent pour les objets d’argent, de l’airain pour les objets d’airain, du fer pour les objets de fer, du bois pour les objets de bois, des pierres d’onyx et des pierres à enchâsser, des pierres d’ornement et de diverses couleurs, toutes sortes de pierres précieuses et des pierres de marbre en abondance.
3 Moreouer, because I haue delite in the house of my God, I haue of mine owne golde and siluer, which I haue giuen to the house of my God, beside all that I haue prepared for the house of the Sanctuarie,
De plus, dans mon affection pour la maison de Dieu, l’or et l’argent que je possède en propre, je le donne à la maison de mon Dieu, outre tout ce que j’ai préparé pour la maison du sanctuaire:
4 Euen three thousand talents of gold of the golde of Ophir, and seuen thousand talents of fined siluer to ouerlay the walles of the houses.
trois mille talents d’or, d’or d’Ophir, et sept mille talents d’argent épuré, pour en revêtir les parois des chambres,
5 The golde for the things of golde, and the siluer for things of siluer, and for all the worke by the handes of artificers: and who is willing to fill his hand to day vnto the Lord?
l’or pour les objets d’or, l’argent pour les objets d’argent, et pour tous les travaux de la main des ouvriers. Qui veut aujourd’hui remplir spontanément sa main d’offrandes pour Yahweh? »
6 So the princes of the families, and the princes of the tribes of Israel, and the captaines of thousands and of hundreths, with the rulers of the Kings worke, offred willingly,
Les chefs des familles, les princes des tribus d’Israël, les chefs de milliers et de centaines, ainsi que les intendants du roi, firent volontairement des offrandes.
7 And they gaue for the seruice of the house of God fiue thousande talents of golde, and ten thousand pieces, and ten thousand talents of siluer, and eighteene thousand talents of brasse, and one hundreth thousand talents of yron.
Ils donnèrent pour le travail de la maison de Dieu cinq mille talents d’or, dix mille dariques, dix mille talents d’argent, dix-huit mille talents d’airain et cent mille talents de fer.
8 And they with whom precious stones were found, gaue them to the treasure of ye house of the Lord, by the hand of Iehiel the Gershunnite.
Ceux qui possédaient des pierres précieuses les donnèrent, pour le trésor de la maison de Yahweh, entre les mains de Jahiel, le Gersonite.
9 And the people reioyced when they offred willingly: for they offred willingly vnto ye Lord, with a perfite heart. And Dauid the King also reioyced with great ioy.
Le peuple se réjouit de leurs offrandes volontaires, car c’était d’un cœur parfait qu’ils faisaient ces offrandes volontaires à Yahweh; le roi David en eut aussi une grande joie.
10 Therefore Dauid blessed the Lord before all the Congregation, and Dauid sayde, Blessed be thou, O Lord God, of Israel our father, for euer and euer.
David bénit Yahweh aux yeux de toute l’assemblée; et David dit: « Béni soyez-vous, d’éternité en éternité, Yahweh, Dieu de notre père d’Israël!
11 Thine, O Lord, is greatnesse and power, and glory, and victorie and praise: for all that is in heauen and in earth is thine: thine is the kingdome, O Lord, and thou excellest as head ouer all.
A vous, Yahweh, la grandeur, la puissance, la magnificence, la splendeur et la gloire, car tout, au ciel et sur la terre, vous appartient; à vous, Yahweh, la royauté; à vous de vous élever souverainement au-dessus de tout.
12 Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest ouer all, and in thine hand is power and strength, and in thine hande it is to make great, and to giue strength vnto all.
De vous dérivent la richesse et la gloire; vous dominez sur tout; dans votre main est la force et la puissance, et à votre main il appartient de donner à toutes choses grandeur et solidité.
13 Now therefore our God, we thanke thee, and prayse thy glorious Name.
Maintenant donc, ô notre Dieu, nous vous louons et nous célébrons votre nom glorieux.
14 But who am I, and what is my people, that we shoulde be able to offer willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee: and of thine owne hand we haue giuen thee.
Car qui suis-je et qui est mon peuple, que nous ayons le pouvoir et la force de faire volontairement de pareilles offrandes? Tout vient de vous, et nous vous donnons ce que nous avons reçu de votre main.
15 For we are stragers before thee, and soiourners, like all our fathers: our dayes are like ye shadowe vpon the earth, and there is none abiding.
Car nous sommes devant vous des étrangers et des colons, comme l’étaient tous nos pères; nos jours sur la terre sont comme l’ombre, et il n’y a pas d’espoir.
16 O Lord our God, all this abundance that we haue prepared to buylde thee an house for thine holy Name, is of thine hand and all is thine.
Yahweh, notre Dieu, toutes ces richesses que nous avons préparées pour vous bâtir une maison pour votre saint nom, c’est de votre main qu’elles viennent, et c’est à vous que tout appartient.
17 I knowe also, my God, that thou tryest the heart, and hast pleasure in righteousnesse: I haue offred willingly in the vprightnesse of mine heart all these things: now also haue I seene thy people which are found here, to offer vnto thee willingly with ioy.
Je sais, ô mon Dieu, que vous sondez les cœurs et que vous aimez la droiture; aussi j’ai fait volontairement toutes ces offrandes dans la droiture de mon cœur, et je vois maintenant avec joie votre peuple qui se trouve ici vous faire volontairement ses offrandes.
18 O Lord God of Abraham, Izhak and Israel our fathers, keepe this for euer in the purpose, and the thoughts of the heart of thy people, and prepare their hearts vnto thee.
Yahweh, Dieu d’Abraham, d’Isaac et d’Israël, nos pères, gardez à jamais cette disposition comme la forme des sentiments du cœur de votre peuple, et tenez leur cœur tourné vers vous.
19 And giue vnto Salomon my sonne a perfit heart to keepe thy commandements, thy testimonies, and thy statutes, and to doe all things, and to builde the house which I haue prepared.
Et à mon fils Salomon donnez un cœur parfait pour observer vos commandements, vos préceptes et vos lois, pour les mettre tous en pratique et pour bâtir le palais pour lequel j’ai fait des préparatifs. »
20 And Dauid said to all the Congregation, Now blesse the Lord your God. And all the Congregation blessed the Lord God of their fathers, and bowed downe their heads, and worshipped the Lord and the King.
David dit à toute l’assemblée: « Bénissez donc Yahweh, votre Dieu. » Et toute l’assemblée bénit Yahweh, le Dieu de leurs pères; ils s’inclinèrent et se prosternèrent devant Yahweh et devant le roi.
21 And they offred sacrifices vnto the Lord, and on the morowe after that day, they offered burnt offrings vnto the Lord, euen a thousande yong bullocks, a thousand rammes and a thousand sheepe, with their drinke offrings, and sacrifices in abundance for all Israel.
Le lendemain de ce jour, ils immolèrent des victimes à Yahweh, et offrirent en holocauste à Yahweh mille taureaux, mille béliers et mille agneaux, avec les libations ordinaires, et d’autres sacrifices en grand nombre pour tout Israël;
22 And they did eate and drinke before the Lord the same day with great ioy, and they made Salomon the sonne of Dauid King the seconde time, and anoynted him prince before the Lord, and Zadok for the hie Priest.
ils mangèrent et burent ce jour-là devant Yahweh avec une grande joie. Pour la seconde fois, ils proclamèrent roi Salomon, fils de David, et l’oignirent comme chef devant Yahweh; et ils oignirent Sadoc comme grand prêtre.
23 So Salomon sate on the throne of the Lord, as King in steade of Dauid his father, and prospered: and all Israel obeyed him.
Salomon s’assit sur le trône de Yahweh comme roi, à la place de David, son père; il prospéra, et tout Israël lui obéit.
24 And all the princes and men of power, and all the sonnes of King Dauid submitted them selues vnder King Salomon.
Tous les chefs et les vaillants, même tous les fils du roi David, se soumirent au roi Salomon.
25 And the Lord magnified Salomon in dignitie, in the sight of all Israel, and gaue him so glorious a kingdome, as no King had before him in Israel.
Yahweh éleva au plus haut degré la grandeur de Salomon sous les yeux de tout Israël, et il donna à son règne une gloire que n’eut jamais avant lui aucun roi en Israël.
26 Thus Dauid the sonne of Ishai reigned ouer all Israel.
David, fils d’Isaï, régna sur tout Israël.
27 And the space that he reigned ouer Israel, was fourtie yeere: seuen yeere reigned he in Hebron, and three and thirtie yeere reigned he in Ierusalem:
Le temps qu’il régna sur Israël fut de quarante ans; il régna sept ans à Hébron, et il régna trente-trois ans à Jérusalem.
28 And he dyed in a good age, full of dayes, riches and honour, and Salomon his sonne reigned in his steade.
Il mourut dans une heureuse vieillesse, rassasié de jours, de richesse et de gloire; et Salomon, son fils, régna à sa place.
29 Concerning the actes of Dauid the King first and last, behold, they are written in the booke of Samuel the Seer, and in the booke of Nathan the Prophet, and in the booke of Gad the Seer,
Les actions du roi David, les premières et les dernières, voici qu’elles sont écrites dans l’histoire de Samuel le voyant, dans l’histoire de Nathan le prophète et dans l’histoire de Gad le voyant,
30 With all his reigne and his power, and times that went ouer him, and ouer Israel and ouer all the kingdomes of the earth.
avec tout son règne et tous ses exploits et les vicissitudes qui lui sont survenues, ainsi qu’à Israël, et à tous les royaumes des autres pays.
