1 Chronicles 22
1 And Dauid saide, This is the house of the Lord God, and this is the altar for the burnt offring of Israel.
Og David sagde: «Her skal huset åt Herren Gud standa, og her skal altaret for Israels brennoffer vera.»
2 And Dauid commanded to gather together the strangers that were in the lande of Israel, and he set masons to hewe and polish stones to builde the house of God.
Og David sende bod at dei skulde samla dei framande som var i Israels land, og han sette steinhoggarar til å hogga steinar til byggjevyrke åt Guds hus.
3 Dauid also prepared much yron for the nayles of the doores and of the gates, and for the ioynings, and abundance of brasse passing weight,
Og David rådde seg nøgdi av jarn til spikar i portdørerne og til kjengar, og ei slik ovmengd med kopar at han var uvegande,
4 And cedar trees without nomber: for the Zidonians and they of Tyrus brought much cedar wood to Dauid.
og cedertre i uteljande mengd; for Sidon- og Tyrus-buarne førde nøgdi av cedertre til David.
5 And Dauid saide, Salomon my sonne is yong and tender, and we must builde an house for the Lord, magnificall, excellent and of great fame and dignitie throughout all countreyes. I will therefore nowe prepare for him. So Dauid prepared very much before his death.
For David tenkte: «Salomo, son min, er ung og kløkk; men huset som skal byggjast åt Herren, bør vera ovstort, so det kann verta til gjetord og æra i alle land. Difor vil eg få til vegar vyrke åt honom.» So rådde David seg ei nøgd med vyrke fyrr han døydde.
6 Then he called Salomon his sonne, and charged him to builde an house for the Lord God of Israel.
So kalla han til seg Salomo, son sin, og bad honom byggja eit hus åt Herren, Israels Gud.
7 And Dauid said to Salomon, My sonne, I purposed with my selfe to builde an house to the Name of the Lord my God,
Og David sagde til Salomo, son sin: «Eg hadde sjølv tenkt meg til å byggja eit hus for namnet åt Herren, min Gud.
8 But the worde of the Lord came to me, saying, Thou hast shed much blood, and hast made great battels: thou shalt not builde an house vnto my Name: for thou hast shead much blood vpon the earth in my sight.
Men Herrens ord kom til meg soleis: «Du hev rent ut mykje blod og gjort store herferder; du skal ikkje byggja eit hus åt namnet mitt; for du hev rent ut so mykje blod på jordi for mi åsyn.
9 Beholde, a sonne is borne to thee, which shalbe a man of rest, for I will giue him rest from all his enemies rounde about: therefore his name is Salomon: and I will sende peace and quietnes vpon Israel in his dayes.
Men du skal få ein son; han skal verta ein fredsæl mann; og eg skal lata honom få fred for alle fiendarne sine rundt ikring; for Salomo skal vera namnet hans, og eg skal lata fred og ro liggja yver Israel i hans dagar.
10 Hee shall builde an house for my Name, and he shalbe my sonne, and I will be his father, and I will establish the throne of his kingdome vpon Israel for euer.
Han skal byggja eit hus åt namnet mitt. Han skal vera son min, og eg skal vera far hans. Og eg skal grunnfesta kongsstolen hans yver Israel i all æva.»
11 Nowe therefore my sonne, the Lord shalbe with thee, and thou shalt prosper, and thou shalt builde an house to the Lord thy God, as he hath spoken of thee.
Herren vere no med deg, son min! Du have lukka med deg, so du fær byggja huset åt Herren din Gud, soleis som han hev tala um deg.
12 Onely the Lord giue thee wisedome and vnderstanding, and giue thee charge ouer Israel, euen to keepe the Lawe of the Lord thy God.
Berre Herren vil gjeva deg visdom og skyndsemd, når han set deg yver Israel, og hjelpa deg til å halda lovi frå Herren, din Gud,
13 Then thou shalt prosper, if thou take heede to obserue the statutes and the iudgements which the Lord commanded Moses for Israel: be strong and of good courage: feare not, neither bee afraide.
so skal du hava lukka med deg, um du kjem i hug å liva etter dei bodi og loverne som Herren hev bode Moses leggja på Israel. Ver sterk og stød; du skal ikkje ræddast og ikkje fæla.
14 For beholde, according to my pouertie haue I prepared for the house of the Lord an hundreth thousand talents of golde, and a thousand thousande talents of siluer, and of brasse and of yron passing weight: for there was abundance: I haue also prepared timber and stone, and thou mayest prouide more thereto.
Og trass i all mi naud hev eg no fenge fram til Herrens hus eit hundrad tusund talent gull og tusund gonger tusund talent sylv, og dertil meir kopar og jarn enn ein kann vega; so mykje er det; trevyrke og stein hev eg og rådt meg, og meir må du sjølv leggja attåt.
15 Moreouer thou hast workmen with thee enough, hewers of stone, and workemen for timber, and all men expert in euery worke.
Arbeidsfolk hev du og nøgdi av, håndverkarar, steinhoggarar og timbremenner, og dertil allslags folk som er hage til alt anna arbeid.
16 Of golde, of siluer, and of brasse, and of yron there is no nomber: Vp therefore, and be doing, and the Lord wilbe with thee.
Gullet, sylvet, koparen og jarnet kann ein ikkje halda rekning på. Upp då og tak fatt på verket, og Herren vere med deg!»
17 Dauid also commanded all the princes of Israel to helpe Salomon his sonne, saying,
Deretter baud David alle hovdingarne i Israel hjelpa Salomo, son hans, og sagde:
18 Is not the Lord your God with you, and hath giuen you rest on euerie side? for hee hath giuen the inhabitants of the land into mine hand, and the land is subdued before the Lord and before his people.
«Herren, dykkar Gud, er då med dykk og hev gjeve dykk ro på alle sidor; for han hev gjeve i mi hand deim som fyrr budde i landet, og det er lagt under Herren og hans folk.
19 Nowe set your hearts and your soules to seeke the Lord your God, and arise, and builde the Sanctuarie of the Lord God to bring the Arke of the couenant of the Lord, and the holy vessels of God into the house built for the Name of the Lord.
So vend no dykkar hjarta og hug til å søkja Herren dykkar Gud, og tak til og bygg Herren Guds heilagdom, so de kann få føra Herrens sambandskista og alt det andre som høyrer til Guds heilagdom, inn i det huset som skal byggjast åt Herrens namn.»
