1 Chronicles 20
1 And when the yere was expired, in the time that Kings goe out a warfare, Ioab caryed out the strength of the armie, and destroyed the countrey of the children of Ammon, and came and besieged Rabbah (but Dauid taryed at Ierusalem) and Ioab smote Rabbah and destroyed it.
Or il arriva l'armée suivante, au temps que les Rois font leur sortie, que Joab conduisit le gros de l'armée, et ravagea le pays des enfants de Hammon; puis il alla assiéger Rabba, tandis que David demeurait à Jérusalem; et Joab battit Rabba, et la détruisit.
2 Then Dauid tooke the crowne of their King from off his head, and founde it the weight of a talent of golde, with precious stones in it: and it was set on Dauids head, and he brought away the spoyle of the citie exceeding much.
Et David prit la couronne de dessus la tête de leur Roi, et il trouva qu'elle pesait un talent d'or, et il y avait des pierres précieuses; et on la mit sur la tête de David, qui emmena un fort grand butin de la ville.
3 And he caryed away the people that were in it, and cut them with sawes, and with harowes of yron, and with axes: euen thus did Dauid with all the cities of the children of Ammon. Then Dauid and all the people came againe to Ierusalem.
Il emmena aussi le peuple qui y était, et les scia avec des scies, et avec des herses de fer et de scies. David traita de la sorte toutes les villes des enfants de Hammon; puis il s'en retourna avec tout le peuple à Jérusalem.
4 And after this also there arose warre at Gezer with the Philistims: then Sibbechai the Hushathite slewe Sippai, of the children of Haraphah, and they were subdued.
Il arriva après cela que la guerre continua à Guézer contre les Philistins; [et] alors Sibbecaï le Husathite frappa Sippaï, qui était des enfants de Rapha, et ils furent abaissés.
5 And there was yet another battell with the Philistims: and Elhanan the sonne of Iair slewe Lahmi, the brother of Goliath the Gittite, whose spearestaffe was like a weauers beame.
Il y eut encore une autre guerre contre les Philistins, dans laquelle Elhanan fils de Jahir frappa Lahmi, frère de Goliath Guittien, qui avait une hallebarde dont la hampe était comme l'ensuble d'un tisserand.
6 And yet againe there was a battel at Gath, where was a man of a great stature, and his fingers were by sixes, euen foure and twentie, and was also the sonne of Haraphah.
Il y eut encore une autre guerre à Gath, où se trouva un homme de grande stature, qui avait six doigts à chaque main, et [six orteils] à chaque pied, de sorte qu'il en avait en tout vingt-quatre; et il était aussi de la race de Rapha.
7 And when he reuiled Israel, Iehonathan the sonne of Shimea Dauids brother did slay him.
Et il défia Israël; mais Jonathan, fils de Simha frère de David, le tua.
8 These were borne vnto Haraphah at Gath, and fell by the hand of Dauid: and by the hands of his seruants.
Ceux-là naquirent à Gath; ils étaient de la race de Rapha, et ils moururent par les mains de David, et par les mains de ses serviteurs.
