1 Chronicles 19

1 After this also Nahash the King of the children of Ammon dyed, and his sonne reigned in his stead.

त्यसको केही समयपछि अम्‍मोनीहरूका राजा नाहाशको मृत्‍यु भयो, र तिनको सट्टामा तिनका छोरा राजा भए ।

2 And Dauid said, I will shew kindnesse vnto Hanun the sonne of Nahash, because his father shewed kindnesse vnto me. And Dauid sent messengers to comfort him for his father. So the seruants of Dauid came into the lande of the children of Ammon to Hanun to comfort him.

दाऊदले भने, “म नाहाशका छोरा हानूनलाई दया देखाउनेछु, किनकि तिनका पिताले मलाई दया देखाए ।” यसैले तिनका पिताको बारेमा सहानुभूति प्रकट गर्न दाऊदले दूतहरू पठाए । दाऊदका दूतहरू हानूनलाई सहानुभूति प्रकट गर्न अम्‍मोनीहरूको देशमा पसे ।

3 And the princes of the children of Ammon said to Hanun, Thinkest thou that Dauid doeth honour thy father, that he hath sent comforters vnto thee? Are not his seruants come to thee to search, to seeke and to spie out the land?

तर अम्‍मोनी राजकुमारहरूले हानूनलाई भने, “दाऊदले तपाईंलाई सहानुभूति प्रकट गर्न मानिसहरू पठाउँदा तिनले तपाईंका पितालाई आदर गरेका हुन्‌ भनी के तपाईं सम्‍झनुहुन्‍छ? तपाईंको देशलाई पराजित गर्नको निम्ति जाँच गर्नलाई तिनका सेवकहरू आएका होइनन्‌ र?”

4 Wherefore Hanun tooke Dauids seruants, and shaued them, and cut off their garments by the halfe vnto the buttocks, and sent them away.

यसकारण हानूनले दाऊदका सेवकहरूलाई समाते, तिनीहरूका कपाल खौरिदिए, र काँधदेखि कम्मरसम्‍म तिनीहरूका आधा लुगा काटेर तिनीहरूलाई पठाइदिए ।

5 And there went certaine and tolde Dauid concerning the men: and he sent to meete them (for the men were exceedingly ashamed) and the King saide, Tarie at Iericho, vntill your beardes be growen: then returne.

जब तिनीहरूले यो कुरा दाऊदलाई वर्णन गरिदिए, तिनले तिनीहरूसित भेट गर्न पठाए, किनकि तिनीहरूको साह्रै लाजमा पारिएका थिए । राजाले भने, “तिमीहरूका दाह्री फेरि नबढुञ्‍जेल यरीहोमा नै बस र त्यसपछि फर्क ।”

6 When the children of Ammon saw that they stanke in the sight of Dauid, then sent Hanun and the children of Ammon a thousande talents of siluer to hire them charets and horsemen out of Aram Naharaim and out of Aram Maachah, and out of Zobah.

जब अम्‍मोनीहरूले आफूहरूला दाऊदको दृष्‍टिमा दुर्घन्दित भएको देखे, तब हानून र अम्‍मोनीहरूले अराम-नाहारैम, अराम-माका र सोबाबाट रथहरू र सारथिहरू ज्‍यालामा ल्‍याउन एक हजार तोडा चाँदी पठाए ।

7 And they hired them two and thirty thousande charets, and the King of Maachah and his people, which came and pitched before Medeba: and the children of Ammon gathered themselues together from their cities, and came to the battell.

उनीहरूले बत्तीस हजार रथ र सारथिहरू, अनि माकाका राजा र उनका मानिसहरूलाई ज्‍यालामा लिए, र उनीहरू आएर मेदबाको सामुन्‍ने छाउनी बनाए । त्यसपछि अम्‍मोनीहरूचाहिं आ-आफ्‍ना सहरहरूबाट भेला भएर लडाइँ गर्न आए ।

8 And when Dauid heard, he sent Ioab and all the hoste of the valiant men.

जब दाऊदले यो कुरा सुने, तिनले योआब र जम्‍मै सेनालाई तिनीहरूसँग भेट गर्न पठाए ।

9 And the children of Ammon came out, and set their battell in aray at the gate of the citie. And the Kings that were come, were by them selues in the fielde.

अम्‍मोनका मानिसहरू आए र सहरको मूल ढोकामा लडाइँको निम्ति पङ्क्तिवद्ध भए । सहायताका निम्ति आएका राजाहरू भने खुला मैदानमा थिए ।

10 When Ioab saw that the front of the battel was against him before and behinde, then he chose out of all the choyse of Israel, and set him selfe in aray to meete the Aramites.

जब योआबले आफूलाई अगि र पछि दुवैतिर लडाइँले घेरेको थाहा पाए, तब तिनले केही असल इस्राएली फौजलाई लिए र अरामीहरूको विरुद्ध तयार पारे ।

11 And the rest of the people he deliuered vnto the hande of Abishai his brother, and they put them selues in aray against the children of Ammon.

तिनका अरू बाँकी फौजलाई तिनले आफ्‍ना भाइ अबीशैको कमाण्‍डमा दिए, र उनीहरूलाई तिनले अम्‍मोनीहरूको विरुद्ध यद्धमा खडा गरे ।

12 And he saide, If Aram be too strong for me, then thou shalt succour me: and if the children of Ammon preuaile against thee, then I wil succour thee.

योआबले भने, “अरामीहरू मेरो निम्‍ति साह्रै शक्तिशाली भए भने अबीशै तिमीले मेरो उद्धार गर्नुपर्छ । अम्‍मोनीहरू तिम्रो निम्‍ति साह्रै शक्तिशाली भए भने म आएर तिम्रो उद्धार गर्नेछु ।

13 Be strong, and let vs shewe our selues valiant for our people, and for the cities of our God, and let the Lord doe that which is good in his owne sight.

साहसिलो होऊ! हामी आफ्‍ना मानिस र हाम्रा परमेश्‍वरका सहरहरूका निम्‍ति साहसिलो होऔं, किनकि परमप्रभुको दृष्‍टिमा जे असल छ उहाँले त्‍यही गर्नुहुनेछ ।”

14 So Ioab and the people that was with him, came neere before the Aramites vnto the battel, and they fled before him.

यसैले योआब र तिनका सेनाका फौज अरामीहरूका विरुद्ध अगाडि बढे । तिनीहरू इस्राएलको सेनाको सामुबाट भाग्‍न बाध्य पारिए ।

15 And when the children of Ammon sawe that the Aramites fled, they fled also before Abishai his brother, and entred into the citie: so Ioab came to Ierusalem.

जब अम्‍मोनका सेनाले अरामीहरूलाई भागेका देखे, तब उनीहरू पनि तिनका भाइ अबीशैको सामुबाट भागे र सहरभित्र फर्के । यसकारण योआब अम्मोनका मानिसहरूबाट फर्के र यरूशलेममा फिर्ता गए ।

16 And when the Aramites sawe that they were discomfited before Israel, they sent messengers and caused the Aramites to come forth that were beyond the riuer: and Shophach the captaine of the hoste of Hadarezer went before them.

जब अरामीहरूले आफू इस्राएलद्वारा परास्‍त भएका देखे, तब तिनीहरूले यूफ्रेटिस नदीको पारिबाट हददेजेरका कमाण्‍डर शोपकको कमाण्‍डमा भएका अरू अरामी सेनालाई बोलाए ।

17 And when it was shewed Dauid, he gathered all Israel, and went ouer Iorden, and came vnto them, and put him selfe in aray against them: And when Dauid had put him selfe in battel aray to meete the Aramites, they fought with him.

जब दाऊदलाई यसको बारेमा बताइयो, तिनले जम्मै इस्राएललाई जम्मा गरे, यर्दन नदी पार गरे र उनीहरूकहाँ गए । तिनले आरामीहरूको विरुद्ध लडाइँ गर्न सेनाको तयारी गरे र तिनीहरूले तिनीसँग युद्ध गरे ।

18 But the Aramites fled before Israel, and Dauid destroyed of the Aramites seuen thousand charets, and fourtie thousand footemen, and killed Shophach the captaine of the hoste.

आरामीहरू इस्राएलदेखि भागे, र दाऊदले अरामीहरूका सात हजार सारथिहरू र चालीस हजार पैदल सिपाहीहरू मारे । तिनले सेनाका कमाण्‍डर शोपकलाई पनि मारे ।

19 And when the seruants of Hadarezer sawe that they fell before Israel, they made peace with Dauid, and serued him. And the Aramites would no more succour the children of Ammon.

हददेजेरका अधीनमा भएका राजाहरूले जब आफू इस्राएलद्वारा परास्‍त भएका देखे, तब तिनीहरूले दाऊदसँग सन्‍धि गरे र तिनको सेवा गरे । यसैले अरामका मानिसहरूले फेरि कहिल्‍यै अम्‍मोनीहरूलाई सहायता दिनलाई राजी भएनन्‌ ।
