1 Chronicles 17
1 Nowe afterward when Dauid dwelt in his house, he saide to Nathan the Prophet, Beholde, I dwell in an house of cedar trees, but the Arke of the Lordes couenant remaineth vnder curtaines.
OR Davide, abitando in casa sua, disse al profeta Natan: Ecco, io abito in una casa di cedro, e l'Arca del Patto del Signore [è] sotto un padiglione.
2 Then Nathan said to Dauid, Do all that is in thine heart: for God is with thee.
E Natan disse a Davide: Fa' tutto quello che tu hai in cuore; perciocchè Iddio [è] teco.
3 And the same night euen the word of God came to Nathan, saying,
Ma quella stessa notte la parola del Signore fu [indirizzata] a Natan, dicendo:
4 Goe, and tell Dauid my seruant, Thus saith the Lord, Thou shalt not buylde me an house to dwell in:
Va', e di' al mio servitore Davide: Così ha detto il Signore: Tu non [sarai] quello che mi edificherai la Casa, per abitar[vi dentro].
5 For I haue dwelt in no house, since the day that I brought out the childre of Israel vnto this daye, but I haue bene from tent to tent, and from habitation to habitation.
Conciossiachè io non sia abitato in casa alcuna, dal dì ch'io trassi Israele [fuor di Egitto], fino a questo giorno; anzi sono stato di tabernacolo in tabernacolo, e di padiglione [in padiglione].
6 Wheresoeuer I haue walked with all Israel spake I one word to any of the iudges of Israel (whome I commanded to feede my people) saying, Why haue ye not built mee an house of cedar trees?
Dovunque io son camminato con tutto Israele, ho io mai parlato ad alcuno de' Giudici d'Israele, al quale io abbia comandato di pascere il mio popolo, dicendo: Perchè non mi avete voi edificata una Casa di cedro?
7 Nowe therefore thus shalt thou say vnto my seruant Dauid, Thus saith the Lord of hostes, I tooke thee from the sheepecoat and from following the sheepe, that thou shouldest bee a prince ouer my people Israel.
Ora dunque, così dirai al mio servitore Davide: Così ha detto il Signor degli eserciti: Io ti ho preso dalla mandria, di dietro alla greggia, acciocchè tu sii conduttore del mio popolo Israele;
8 And I haue bene with thee whithersoeuer thou hast walked, and haue destroyed all thine enemies out of thy sight, and haue made thee a name, like the name of the great men that are in the earth.
e sono stato teco dovunque tu sei camminato, ed ho distrutti tutti i tuoi nemici d'innanzi a te; e t'ho acquistato un nome pari al nome de' più grandi che [sieno] in terra.
9 (Also I will appoynt a place for my people Israel, and will plant it, that they may dwell in their place, and moue no more: neither shall the wicked people vexe them any more, as at the beginning,
Ed anche costituirò un luogo al mio popolo Israele, e lo pianterò, ed egli abiterà in casa sua, e non sarà più agitato, e gl'iniqui non continueranno più a consumarlo, come da prima;
10 And since the time that I commanded iudges ouer my people Israel) And I wil subdue all thine enemies: therefore I say vnto thee, that the Lord wil buylde thee an house.
eziandio dal tempo che io ordinai de' Giudici sopra il mio popolo Israele; ed io abbasserò tutti i tuoi nemici. Oltre a ciò, io ti dichiaro che il Signore ti edificherà una casa.
11 And when thy dayes shalbe fulfilled to go with thy fathers, then will I rayse vp thy seede after thee, which shalbe of thy sonnes, and will stablish his kingdome.
E quando i tuoi giorni saranno compiuti, per andartene co' tuoi padri, io farò sorgere [uno del]la tua progenie dopo te, il qual sarà de' tuoi figliuoli; e stabilirò il suo regno.
12 He shall builde me an house, and I will stablish his throne for euer.
Esso mi edificherà una Casa, ed io renderò fermo il suo trono in eterno.
13 I wil be his father, and he shalbe my sonne, aud I will not take my mercie away from him, as I tooke it from him that was before thee.
Io gli sarò padre, ed egli mi sarà figliuolo; ed io non ritrarrò la mia benignità da lui, come l'ho ritratta da colui ch'è stato davanti a te.
14 But I wil establish him in mine house, and in my kingdome for euer, and his throne shalbe stablished for euer,
Ed io lo stabilirò nella mia Casa, e nel mio Regno, in perpetuo; ed il suo trono sarà fermo in eterno.
15 According to all these wordes, and according to al this vision. So Nathan spake to Dauid.
Natan parlò a Davide secondo tutte queste parole, e secondo tutta questa visione.
16 And Dauid the King went in and sate before the Lord and said, Who am I, O Lord God, and what is mine house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?
Allora il re Davide venne, si pose a sedere davanti al Signore, e disse: Chi [sono] io, Signore Iddio? e quale [è] la casa mia, che tu mi abbi fatto pervenire fino a questo?
17 Yet thou esteeming this a small thing, O God, hast also spoken concerning the house of thy seruaut for a great while, and hast regarded me according to the estate of a man of hie degree, O Lord God.
E pure [anche], o Dio, ciò ti è paruto poco; ed hai parlato della casa del tuo servitore per un lungo tempo a venire; e mi hai provveduto di questo grado, come per un ordine [di successione] umana, o Signore Iddio.
18 What can Dauid desire more of thee for the honour of thy seruant? for thou knowest thy seruant.
Che saprebbe Davide [dir]ti di più, intorno all'onore [che tu fai] al tuo servitore? ma tu conosci il tuo servitore.
19 O Lord, for thy seruantes sake, euen according to thine heart hast thou done all this great thing to declare all magnificence.
Signore, per amor del tuo servitore, e secondo il tuo cuore, tu hai fatto tutto questo grande affare, facendo assapere [al tuo servitore] queste gran cose.
20 Lord, there is none like thee, neither is there any God besides thee, according to all that we haue heard with our eares.
Signore, ei non [vi è alcuno] pari a te, e non [vi è] Dio fuor che te, secondo tutto ciò che abbiamo udito con le nostre orecchie.
21 Moreouer what one nation in the earth is like thy people Israel, whose God went to redeeme them to be his people, and to make thy selfe a Name, and to doe great and terrible things by casting out nations from before thy people, whom thou hast deliuered out of Egypt?
E quale [è] l'unica gente in terra pari al tuo popolo Israele? per lo quale Iddio è andato, per riscattarselo per suo popolo; per acquistarti, [o Dio], fama di cose grandi e tremende, scacciando le nazioni d'innanzi al tuo popolo, che tu hai riscosso di Egitto.
22 For thou hast ordeined thy people Israel to be thine owne people for euer, and thou Lord art become their God.
E ti hai costituito il popolo Israele per popolo in perpetuo; e tu, Signore, ti sei fatto lor Dio.
23 Therefore nowe Lord, let the thing that thou hast spoken concerning thy seruant and concerning his house, be confirmed for euer, and doe as thou hast sayd,
Ora dunque, o Signore, sia la parola, che tu hai promessa al tuo servitore, ed alla sua casa, ferma in perpetuo; ed opera come tu hai parlato.
24 And let thy name be stable and magnified for euer, that it may be sayd, The Lord of hostes, God of Israel, is the God of Israel, and let the house of Dauid thy seruant bee stablished before thee.
Sia quella ferma, acciocchè sia magnificato il tuo Nome in eterno; e si dica: Il Signor degli eserciti, l'Iddio d'Israele, [è] Dio ad Israele; e [sia] la casa di Davide, tuo servitore, stabile davanti a te.
25 For thou, O my God, hast reueiled vnto the eare of thy seruant, that thou wilt builde him an house: therefore thy seruant hath bene bolde to pray before thee.
Imperocchè, tu, Dio mio, hai rivelato al tuo servitore che tu gli edificherai una casa; per ciò, il tuo servitore si è disposto a fare orazione nel tuo cospetto.
26 Therefore nowe Lord (for thou art God, and hast spoken this goodnesse vnto thy seruant)
Ora dunque, Signore, tu sei Dio, ed hai promesso questo bene al tuo servitore.
27 Now therfore, it hath pleased thee to blesse the house of thy seruant, that it may bee before thee for euer: for thou, O Lord, hast blessed it, and it shalbe blessed for euer.
Ora dunque, [poichè] ti è piaciuto di benedir la casa del tuo servitore, acciocchè sia davanti a te in perpetuo; poichè, [dico], tu Signore, l'hai benedetta, sia ella benedetta in eterno.
