1 Chronicles 17

1 Nowe afterward when Dauid dwelt in his house, he saide to Nathan the Prophet, Beholde, I dwell in an house of cedar trees, but the Arke of the Lordes couenant remaineth vnder curtaines.

૧દાઉદ પોતાના મહેલમાં રહેવા ગયો, ત્યાર પછી તેણે નાથાન પ્રબોધકને કહ્યું, “જો, હું દેવદારના મહેલમાં રહું છું, પરંતુ ઈશ્વરનો કરારકોશ મંડપમાં રહે છે.”

2 Then Nathan said to Dauid, Do all that is in thine heart: for God is with thee.

૨પછી નાથાને દાઉદને કહ્યું, “જા, તારા મનમાં જે હોય તે કર, કેમ કે ઈશ્વર તારી સાથે છે.”

3 And the same night euen the word of God came to Nathan, saying,

૩પણ તે જ રાત્રે ઈશ્વરની વાણી નાથાનની પાસે આવી,

4 Goe, and tell Dauid my seruant, Thus saith the Lord, Thou shalt not buylde me an house to dwell in:

૪“જા અને મારા સેવક દાઉદને કહે કે, ‘યહોવાહ એવું કહે છે: તારે મારે માટે રહેવાનું ભક્તિસ્થાન બાંધવું નહિ.

5 For I haue dwelt in no house, since the day that I brought out the childre of Israel vnto this daye, but I haue bene from tent to tent, and from habitation to habitation.

૫કેમ કે હું ઇઝરાયલને કાઢી લાવ્યો તે દિવસથી તે આજ સુધી હું ભક્તિસ્થાનમાં રહ્યો નથી. પણ એક તંબુથી તે બીજા તંબુમાં તથા એક મંડપથી તે બીજા મંડપમાં ફરતો રહ્યો છું.

6 Wheresoeuer I haue walked with all Israel spake I one word to any of the iudges of Israel (whome I commanded to feede my people) saying, Why haue ye not built mee an house of cedar trees?

૬જે બધી જગ્યાઓમાં હું સર્વ ઇઝરાયલીઓ સાથે ચાલ્યો છું, ત્યાં ઇઝરાયલના જે આગેવાનોને મેં મારા લોકોનું પોષણ કરવાની આજ્ઞા આપી હતી, તેઓમાંના કોઈને મેં કદી પૂછ્યું છે કે, “મારા માટે તમે દેવદારનું ભક્તિસ્થાન કેમ બાંધ્યું નથી?”

7 Nowe therefore thus shalt thou say vnto my seruant Dauid, Thus saith the Lord of hostes, I tooke thee from the sheepecoat and from following the sheepe, that thou shouldest bee a prince ouer my people Israel.

૭માટે હવે, મારા સેવક દાઉદને કહે, ‘સર્વસમર્થ યહોવાહનાં આ વચન છે: “તું ઘેટાંને ચરાવતો હતો ત્યાંથી મેં તને મારા ઇઝરાયલીઓનો ઉપરી થવા માટે બોલાવી લીધો.

8 And I haue bene with thee whithersoeuer thou hast walked, and haue destroyed all thine enemies out of thy sight, and haue made thee a name, like the name of the great men that are in the earth.

૮અને તું જ્યાં કહીં ગયો, ત્યાં હું તારી સાથે રહ્યો છું, તારી આગળથી તારા શત્રુઓનો મેં નાશ કર્યો છે. હવે પછી હું તને પૃથ્વીના મહાન પુરુષો જેવો વિખ્યાત બનાવીશ.

9 (Also I will appoynt a place for my people Israel, and will plant it, that they may dwell in their place, and moue no more: neither shall the wicked people vexe them any more, as at the beginning,

૯હું મારા ઇઝરાયલી લોકોને માટે એક સ્થાન ઠરાવીને તેઓને ત્યાં ઠરીઠામ કરીશ કે જેથી તેઓ પોતાના સ્થળમાં રહે અને તેઓ મુશ્કેલીમાં ન આવે. ફરીથી તેમને કદી કોઈ ખસેડનાર નહિ હોય.

10 And since the time that I commanded iudges ouer my people Israel) And I wil subdue all thine enemies: therefore I say vnto thee, that the Lord wil buylde thee an house.

૧૦અગાઉની માફક તથા જે સમયે મેં ન્યાયાધીશોને મારા ઇઝરાયલીઓ પર આધિપત્ય કરવાનો હુકમ કર્યો ત્યારથી થતું આવ્યું છે તેમ, હવે પછી દુષ્ટ માણસો તેમનો ક્ષય કરશે નહિ. હું તારા સર્વ શત્રુઓને વશ કરીશ. વળી હું તને કહું છું કે યહોવાહ તારું કુટુંબ કાયમ રાખશે.

11 And when thy dayes shalbe fulfilled to go with thy fathers, then will I rayse vp thy seede after thee, which shalbe of thy sonnes, and will stablish his kingdome.

૧૧એમ થશે કે તારા દિવસો પૂરા થતાં તારે તારા પિતૃઓની સાથે જવું પડશે, ત્યારે હું તારા પછી તારા વંશજોને તારી જગ્યાએ સ્થાપિત કરીશ અને તારા વંશજોમાંથી જે રાજા થશે તેનું રાજ્ય હું કાયમ રાખીશ.

12 He shall builde me an house, and I will stablish his throne for euer.

૧૨તે મારે માટે ભક્તિસ્થાન બાંધશે અને હું તેનું રાજ્યાસન સદાકાળ રાખીશ.

13 I wil be his father, and he shalbe my sonne, aud I will not take my mercie away from him, as I tooke it from him that was before thee.

૧૩હું તેનો પિતા થઈશ અને તે મારો પુત્ર થશે. તેની પાસેથી મારા કરારનું વિશ્વાસુપણું હું લઈ લઈશ નહિ જેમ મેં તારી અગાઉના શાસક, શાઉલ પ્રત્યેથી લઈ લીધું હતું તેમ.

14 But I wil establish him in mine house, and in my kingdome for euer, and his throne shalbe stablished for euer,

૧૪હું તેને મારા ઘર તથા મારા રાજ્યમાં સદાકાળ રાખીશ અને તેનું રાજ્યાસન સદાના માટે સ્થાપીશ.”

15 According to all these wordes, and according to al this vision. So Nathan spake to Dauid.

૧૫નાથાને દાઉદને આ સર્વ વચનોનો અહેવાલ તથા સર્વ દર્શન સંબંધી કહ્યું.

16 And Dauid the King went in and sate before the Lord and said, Who am I, O Lord God, and what is mine house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?

૧૬પછી દાઉદ રાજા અંદર જઈને યહોવાહની સમક્ષ બેઠો અને બોલ્યો, “હે ઈશ્વર યહોવાહ, હું કોણ અને મારું કુટુંબ કોણ કે, તમે મને આવા ઉચ્ચસ્થાને લાવ્યા છો?

17 Yet thou esteeming this a small thing, O God, hast also spoken concerning the house of thy seruaut for a great while, and hast regarded me according to the estate of a man of hie degree, O Lord God.

૧૭હે ઈશ્વર એ પણ તમારી દ્રષ્ટિમાં ઓછું જણાયું, એટલે તમારા સેવકના કુટુંબ સંબંધીના ઉજળા ભાવિ વિષે તમે મને વચન આપ્યું છે. હે ઈશ્વર યહોવાહ, તમે મને ઉચ્ચ પદવીના માણસની પંક્તિમાં મૂક્યો છે.

18 What can Dauid desire more of thee for the honour of thy seruant? for thou knowest thy seruant.

૧૮તમે આ તમારા સેવક દાઉદને જે માન આપ્યું છે તે વિષે તો હું વધુ શું કહું? તમે તમારા સેવકને ખાસ ઓળખો છો.

19 O Lord, for thy seruantes sake, euen according to thine heart hast thou done all this great thing to declare all magnificence.

૧૯હે યહોવાહ, તમારા સેવકની ખાતર તમારા ઉદ્દેશ પૂરા કરો, તમારા અંતઃકરણ પ્રમાણે તમે આ સર્વ મહાન કાર્યો પ્રગટ કર્યાં છે.

20 Lord, there is none like thee, neither is there any God besides thee, according to all that we haue heard with our eares.

૨૦હે યહોવાહ, અમારા સાંભળવા પ્રમાણે તમારા જેવા બીજા કોઈ નથી અને તમારા સિવાય અન્ય કોઈ ઈશ્વર નથી.

21 Moreouer what one nation in the earth is like thy people Israel, whose God went to redeeme them to be his people, and to make thy selfe a Name, and to doe great and terrible things by casting out nations from before thy people, whom thou hast deliuered out of Egypt?

૨૧પૃથ્વી પર તમારા લોક ઇઝરાયલ કે જેને તમે, ઈશ્વર, મહાન અને અદ્દભુત કૃત્યો કરીને, પોતાના નામના મહિમા સારુ મિસરમાંથી છોડાવ્યા હોય, તેના જેવી બીજી કઈ પ્રજા છે? તમારા લોક જેઓને તમે મિસરમાંથી છોડાવી લાવ્યા તેઓની આગળથી બીજી પ્રજાઓને હાંકી કાઢી.

22 For thou hast ordeined thy people Israel to be thine owne people for euer, and thou Lord art become their God.

૨૨તમે તમારા ઇઝરાયલ લોકોને સદાને માટે તમારા પોતાના લોક ગણ્યા છે અને હે યહોવાહ, તમે તેઓના ઈશ્વર બન્યા છો.

23 Therefore nowe Lord, let the thing that thou hast spoken concerning thy seruant and concerning his house, be confirmed for euer, and doe as thou hast sayd,

૨૩તેથી હવે, હે યહોવાહ, તમે તમારા સેવક તથા તેના કુટુંબ સંબંધી જે બોલ્યા છો તે પૂરું કરો.

24 And let thy name be stable and magnified for euer, that it may be sayd, The Lord of hostes, God of Israel, is the God of Israel, and let the house of Dauid thy seruant bee stablished before thee.

૨૪જેથી સદાકાળ તમારા નામનો મહિમા થાય અને લોકો કહે કે, ‘સૈન્યોના યહોવાહ, ઇઝરાયલના ઈશ્વર છે’ હા, ઇઝરાયલના હકમાં તેઓ ઈશ્વર છે. અને તમારા સેવક દાઉદનું કુટુંબ તમારી આગળ સ્થાપિત થાઓ.

25 For thou, O my God, hast reueiled vnto the eare of thy seruant, that thou wilt builde him an house: therefore thy seruant hath bene bolde to pray before thee.

૨૫હે મારા ઈશ્વર, તમારા આ સેવકને તમે સ્પષ્ટ કહ્યું છે કે તમે તેના કુટુંબને ટકાવી રાખશો. માટે આ તમારા સેવકે તમારી આગળ પ્રાર્થના કરવાની હિંમત કરી છે.

26 Therefore nowe Lord (for thou art God, and hast spoken this goodnesse vnto thy seruant)

૨૬હવે હે યહોવાહ, તમે જ ઈશ્વર છો અને તમે તમારા સેવકને ખાતરી દાયક વચન આપ્યું છે:

27 Now therfore, it hath pleased thee to blesse the house of thy seruant, that it may bee before thee for euer: for thou, O Lord, hast blessed it, and it shalbe blessed for euer.

૨૭હવે તમારા સેવકનું કુટુંબ તમારી આગળ સર્વકાળ ટકી રહે, માટે તેને આશીર્વાદ આપવાનું તમને સારું લાગ્યું. હે યહોવાહ, તમે તેને આશીર્વાદ આપ્યો છે અને તે સદાને માટે આશીર્વાદિત થયું છે.”
