1 Chronicles 15
1 And Dauid made him houses in the citie of Dauid, and prepared a place for the Arke of God, and pitched for it a tent.
Una vez que David terminó de construirse casas en la Ciudad de David, hizo un lugar para el Arca de Dios y levantó allí una tienda.
2 Then Dauid saide, None ought to carie the Arke of God, but the Leuites: for the Lord hath chosen them to beare the Arke of the Lord, and to minister vnto him for euer.
Luego dio órdenes: “Nadie debe llevar el Arca de Dios, excepto los levitas, porque el Señor mismo los eligió para llevar el Arca del Señor y servirle para siempre”.
3 And Dauid gathered all Israel together to Ierusalem to bring vp the Arke of the Lord vnto his place, which he had ordeined for it.
Entonces David convocó a todo Israel a Jerusalén para llevar el Arca del Señor al lugar que había preparado para ella.
4 And Dauid assembled the sonnes of Aaron, and the Leuites.
Esta es la lista de los levitas, Los hijos de Aarón, que David convocó para asistir:
5 Of the sonnes of Kohath, Vriel the chiefe, and his brethren sixe score.
De los hijos de Coat, Uriel (el jefe de familia), y 120 de sus parientes;
6 Of the sonnes of Merari, Asaiah the chiefe, and his brethren two hundreth and twentie.
de los hijos de Merari, Asaías (el jefe de familia), con 220 de sus parientes;
7 Of the sonnes of Gershom, Ioel the chiefe, and his brethren an hundreth and thirtie.
de los hijos de Gersón, Joel (el jefe de familia), con 130 de sus parientes;
8 Of the sonnes of Elizaphan, Shemaiah the chiefe, and his brethren two hundreth.
de los hijos de Elizafán, Semaías (el jefe de familia), con 200 de sus parientes;
9 Of the sonnes of Hebron, Eliel the chiefe, and his brethren fourescore.

10 Of the sonnes of Vzziel, Amminadab the chiefe, and his brethren an hundreth and twelue.

11 And Dauid called Zadok and Abiathar the Priestes, and of the Leuites, Vriel, Asaiah and Ioel, Shemaiah, and Eliel, and Amminadab:
Entonces David convocó a los sacerdotes Sadoc y Abiatar, y a los levitas Uriel, Asaías, Joel, Semaías, Eliel y Aminadab.
12 And he saide vnto them, Ye are the chiefe fathers of the Leuites: sanctifie your selues, and your brethren, and bring vp the Arke of the Lord God of Israel vnto the place that I haue prepared for it.
Les dijo: “Ustedes son los jefes de las familias de los levitas. Ustedes mismos y sus parientes deben estar ceremonialmente limpios y puros antes de que traigas de vuelta el Arca de Dios, el Señor de Israel al lugar que he hecho para ella.
13 For because ye were not there at the first, the Lord our God made a breach among vs: for we sought him not after due order.
Por no haber estado allí la primera vez para llevar el Arca, el Señor, nuestro Dios, estalló en violencia contra nosotros. No la tratamos de acuerdo con sus instrucciones”.
14 So the Priestes and the Leuites sanctified them selues to bring vp the Arke of the Lord God of Israel.
Así que los sacerdotes y los levitas se purificaron para poder traer de vuelta el Arca del Señor, el Dios de Israel.
15 And the sonnes of the Leuites bare the Arke of God vpon their shoulders with the barres, as Moses had commanded, according to the worde of the Lord.
Entonces los levitas llevaron el Arca de Dios de la manera que Moisés había ordenado, según lo que Dios había dicho: sobre sus hombros, usando las varas especiales para transportarla.
16 And Dauid spake to the chiefe of the Leuites, that they should appoint certaine of their brethren to sing with instruments of musike, with violes and harpes, and cymbales, that they might make a sounde, and lift vp their voyce with ioye.
David también dio instrucciones a los jefes de los levitas para que asignaran de entre sus parientes a cantores que cantaran con alegría, acompañados por músicos que tocaran liras, arpas y címbalos.
17 So the Leuites appointed Heman the sonne of Ioel, and of his brethren Asaph the sonne of Berechiah, and of the sonnes of Merari their brethren, Ethan the sonne of Kushaiah,
Así que los levitas asignaron a Hemán, hijo de Joel, y de sus parientes a Asaf, hijo de Berequías, y de los hijos de Merari, sus parientes, a Etán, hijo de Cusaías.
18 And with them their brethren in the seconde degree, Zechariah, Ben, and Iaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Iehiel, and Vnni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneah, and Obed Edom, and Ieiel the porters.
El segundo grupo de levitas estaba formado por Zacarías, Jaaziel, Semiramot, Jehiel, Uni, Eliab, Benaía, Maaseías, Matatías, Elifelehu y Micnías; y los porteros Obed-edom y Jeiel.
19 So Heman, Asaph and Ethan were fingers to make a sounde with cymbales of brasse,
Los músicos Hemán, Asaf y Etán debían tocar los címbalos de bronce;
20 And Zechariah, and Aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Iehiel, and Vnni, and Eliab, and Maaseiah, and Benaiah with violes on Alamoth,
Zacarías, Aziel, Semiramot, Jehiel, Uni, Eliab, Maasé y Benaía debían tocar las arpas “según alamot”,
21 And Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneah, and Obed Edom, and Ieiel, and Azaziah, with harpes vpon Sheminith Ienazzeah.
mientras que Matatías, Elifelehu, Micnías, Obed-edom, Jeiel y Azazías debían dirigir la música con liras “según seminit”.
22 But Chenaniah the chiefe of the Leuites had the charge, bearing ye burden in the charge, for he was able to instruct.
Quenanías, el líder de los levitas en el canto, fue elegido para dirigir la música debido a su habilidad.
23 And Berechiah and Elkanah were porters for the Arke.
Berequías y Elcana fueron designados para custodiar el Arca.
24 And Shecaniah and Iehoshaphat and Nethaneel and Amasai, and Zechariah, and Benaiah, and Eliezer the Priestes did blowe with trumpets before the Arke of God, and Obed Edom and Ieiiah were porters for the Arke.
Los sacerdotes Sebanías, Josafat, Natanel, Amasai, Zacarías, Benaía y Eliezer debían tocar las trompetas delante del Arca de Dios. Obed-edom y Jeías también fueron designados para custodiar el Arca.
25 So Dauid and the Elders of Israel and the captaines of thousandes went to bring vp the Arke of the couenant of the Lord from the house of Obed Edom with ioye.
Luego David, los ancianos de Israel y los comandantes del ejército de mayor rango, fueron con gran celebración a traer el Arca del Pacto del Señor desde la casa de Obed-Edom.
26 And because that God helped the Leuites that bare the Arke of the couenant of the Lord, they offered seuen bullockes and seuen rammes.
Como Dios ayudó a los levitas que llevaban el Arca del Pacto del Señor, sacrificaron siete toros y siete carneros.
27 And Dauid had on him a linen garment, as all the Leuites that bare the Arke, and the singers and Chenaniah that had the chiefe charge of the singers: and vpon Dauid was a linnen Ephod.
David se vistió con una túnica de lino fino, al igual que todos los levitas que llevaban el Arca, y los cantores y Quenanías, el líder de la música y los cantores. David también se puso un efod de lino.
28 Thus all Israel brought vp the Arke of the Lordes couenant with shouting and sounde of cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbales, making a sound with violes and with harpes.
Así que todo Israel trajo de vuelta el Arca del Pacto del Señor con mucha gritería, acompañada de cuernos, trompetas y címbalos, y música tocada con arpas y liras.
29 And when the Arke of the couenant of the Lord came into the citie of Dauid, Michal the daughter of Saul looked out at a windowe, and sawe King Dauid dauncing and playing, and she despised him in her heart.
Pero cuando el Arca del Pacto del Señor entró en la Ciudad de David, la hija de Saúl, Mical, miró desde una ventana. Al ver al rey David saltando y bailando de alegría, se llenó de desprecio por él.
