1 Chronicles 15

1 And Dauid made him houses in the citie of Dauid, and prepared a place for the Arke of God, and pitched for it a tent.

Or [David] bâtit pour lui des maisons dans la Cité de David, et prépara un lieu pour l'Arche de Dieu; et lui tendit un tabernacle.

2 Then Dauid saide, None ought to carie the Arke of God, but the Leuites: for the Lord hath chosen them to beare the Arke of the Lord, and to minister vnto him for euer.

Et David dit: L'Arche de Dieu ne doit être portée que par les Lévites; car l'Eternel les a choisis pour porter l'Arche de Dieu, et pour faire le service à toujours.

3 And Dauid gathered all Israel together to Ierusalem to bring vp the Arke of the Lord vnto his place, which he had ordeined for it.

David donc assembla tous ceux d'Israël à Jérusalem, pour amener l'Arche de l'Eternel dans le lieu qu'il lui avait préparé.

4 And Dauid assembled the sonnes of Aaron, and the Leuites.

David assembla aussi les enfants d'Aaron, et les Lévites.

5 Of the sonnes of Kohath, Vriel the chiefe, and his brethren sixe score.

Des enfants de Kéhath, Uriël le Chef, et ses frères, six vingts.

6 Of the sonnes of Merari, Asaiah the chiefe, and his brethren two hundreth and twentie.

Des enfants de Mérari, Hasaïa le Chef, et ses frères, deux cent et vingt.

7 Of the sonnes of Gershom, Ioel the chiefe, and his brethren an hundreth and thirtie.

Des enfants de Guersom, Joël le Chef, et ses frères, cent trente.

8 Of the sonnes of Elizaphan, Shemaiah the chiefe, and his brethren two hundreth.

Des enfants d'Elitsaphan, Sémahja le chef, et ses frères, deux cents.

9 Of the sonnes of Hebron, Eliel the chiefe, and his brethren fourescore.

Des enfants de Hébron, Eliël le Chef, et ses frères, quatre-vingts.

10 Of the sonnes of Vzziel, Amminadab the chiefe, and his brethren an hundreth and twelue.

Des enfants de Huziël, Hamminadab le Chef et ses frères, cent et douze.

11 And Dauid called Zadok and Abiathar the Priestes, and of the Leuites, Vriel, Asaiah and Ioel, Shemaiah, and Eliel, and Amminadab:

David donc appela Tsadoc et Abiathar les Sacrificateurs, et ces Lévites-là, [savoir], Uriël, Hasaïa, Joël, Sémahja, Eliël, et Hamminadab;

12 And he saide vnto them, Ye are the chiefe fathers of the Leuites: sanctifie your selues, and your brethren, and bring vp the Arke of the Lord God of Israel vnto the place that I haue prepared for it.

Et il leur dit: Vous qui êtes les Chefs des pères des Lévites, sanctifiez-vous, vous et vos frères; et transportez l'Arche de l'Eternel le Dieu d'Israël, au lieu que je lui ai préparé.

13 For because ye were not there at the first, the Lord our God made a breach among vs: for we sought him not after due order.

Parce que vous n'y avez pas été la première fois, l'Eternel notre Dieu a fait une brèche entre nous; car nous ne l'avons pas recherché comme il est ordonné.

14 So the Priestes and the Leuites sanctified them selues to bring vp the Arke of the Lord God of Israel.

Les Sacrificateurs donc et les Lévites se sanctifièrent pour amener l'Arche de l'Eternel, le Dieu d'Israël.

15 And the sonnes of the Leuites bare the Arke of God vpon their shoulders with the barres, as Moses had commanded, according to the worde of the Lord.

Et les enfants des Lévites portèrent l'Arche de Dieu sur leurs épaules, avec les barres qu'ils avaient sur eux, comme Moïse l'avait commandé suivant la parole de l'Eternel.

16 And Dauid spake to the chiefe of the Leuites, that they should appoint certaine of their brethren to sing with instruments of musike, with violes and harpes, and cymbales, that they might make a sounde, and lift vp their voyce with ioye.

Et David dit aux Chefs des Lévites, d'établir quelques-uns de leurs frères qui chantassent avec des instruments de musique, [savoir] des musettes, des violons, et des cymbales, [et] qui fissent retentir leur voix avec joie.

17 So the Leuites appointed Heman the sonne of Ioel, and of his brethren Asaph the sonne of Berechiah, and of the sonnes of Merari their brethren, Ethan the sonne of Kushaiah,

Les Lévites donc établirent Héman fils de Joël, et d'entre ses frères, Asaph fils de Bérécia; et des enfants de Mérari, qui étaient leurs frères, Ethan fils de Kusaïa;

18 And with them their brethren in the seconde degree, Zechariah, Ben, and Iaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Iehiel, and Vnni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneah, and Obed Edom, and Ieiel the porters.

Et avec eux leurs frères pour être au second rang, Zacharie, Ben, Jahaziël, Sémiramoth, Jéhiël, Hunni, Eliab, Bénéja, Mahaséïa, Mattitia, et Eliphaléhu, Miknéïa, Hobed-Edom, et Jéhiël, portiers.

19 So Heman, Asaph and Ethan were fingers to make a sounde with cymbales of brasse,

Et quant à Héman, Asaph, et Ethan chantres, [ils sonnaient] des cymbales d'airain, en faisant retentir [leur voix].

20 And Zechariah, and Aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Iehiel, and Vnni, and Eliab, and Maaseiah, and Benaiah with violes on Alamoth,

Et Zacharie, Haziël, Sémiramoth, Jéhiël, Hunni, Eliab, Mahaséïa, et Bénéja jouaient de la musette, sur Halamoth.

21 And Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneah, and Obed Edom, and Ieiel, and Azaziah, with harpes vpon Sheminith Ienazzeah.

Et Mattitia, Eliphaléhu, Miknéja, Hobed-Edom, Jéhiël, [et] Hazaria jouaient des violons sur l'octave, pour renforcer le ton.

22 But Chenaniah the chiefe of the Leuites had the charge, bearing ye burden in the charge, for he was able to instruct.

Mais Kénaïa, le principal des Lévites avait la charge de faire porter l'Arche, enseignant comment il la fallait porter; car il était homme fort intelligent.

23 And Berechiah and Elkanah were porters for the Arke.

Et Bérécia et Elkana, étaient portiers pour l'Arche.

24 And Shecaniah and Iehoshaphat and Nethaneel and Amasai, and Zechariah, and Benaiah, and Eliezer the Priestes did blowe with trumpets before the Arke of God, and Obed Edom and Ieiiah were porters for the Arke.

Et Sébania, Jéhosaphat, Nathanaël, Hamasaï, Zacharie, Bénéja, Elihézer, Sacrificateurs, sonnaient des trompettes devant l'Arche de Dieu, et Hobed-Edom et Jéhïa étaient portiers pour l'Arche.

25 So Dauid and the Elders of Israel and the captaines of thousandes went to bring vp the Arke of the couenant of the Lord from the house of Obed Edom with ioye.

David donc et les Anciens d'Israël, avec les Gouverneurs de milliers, marchaient, amenant avec joie l'Arche de l'alliance de l'Eternel, de la maison d'Hobed-Edom.

26 And because that God helped the Leuites that bare the Arke of the couenant of the Lord, they offered seuen bullockes and seuen rammes.

Et selon que Dieu soulageait les Lévites qui portaient l'Arche de l'alliance de l'Eternel, on sacrifiait sept veaux et sept béliers.

27 And Dauid had on him a linen garment, as all the Leuites that bare the Arke, and the singers and Chenaniah that had the chiefe charge of the singers: and vpon Dauid was a linnen Ephod.

Et David était vêtu d'un éphod de fin lin; et tous les Lévites aussi qui portaient l'Arche, et les chantres; et Kénaïa, qui avait la principale charge de faire porter l'Arche, était avec les chantres; et David avait un éphod de lin.

28 Thus all Israel brought vp the Arke of the Lordes couenant with shouting and sounde of cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbales, making a sound with violes and with harpes.

Ainsi tout Israël amena l'Arche de l'alliance de l'Eternel, avec de grands cris de joie, et au son du cor, des trompettes et des cymbales, faisant retentir [leur voix] avec des musettes et des violons.

29 And when the Arke of the couenant of the Lord came into the citie of Dauid, Michal the daughter of Saul looked out at a windowe, and sawe King Dauid dauncing and playing, and she despised him in her heart.

Mais il arriva, comme l'Arche de l'alliance de l'Eternel entrait dans la Cité de David, que Mical fille de Saül, regardant par la fenêtre, vit le Roi David sautant et jouant, et elle le méprisa dans son cœur.
