Romans 8
1 So there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
Eben darum gibt es jetzt keine Verdammnis mehr für die, die in Christus Jesus sind:
2 The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and death.
denn das Gesetz des Geistes des Lebens hat in Christus Jesus freigemacht von dem Gesetze der Sünde und des Todes.
3 What the law couldn't do because it was powerless due to our sinful nature, God was able to do! By sending his own Son in human form, God dealt with the whole problem of sin and destroyed sin's power in our sinful human nature.
Denn was das Gesetz nicht vermochte, kraftlos wie es hierin war durch das Fleisch: Gott, indem er seinen Sohn sandte in Sündenfleischesbild und um der Sünde willen, hat die Sünde im Fleische verdammt,
4 In this way we could fulfill the good requirements of the law by following the Spirit and not our sinful nature.
damit das Recht des Gesetzes zur Erfüllung komme an uns, sofern wir nicht nach dem Fleische wandeln, sondern nach dem Geiste.
5 Those who follow their sinful nature are preoccupied with sinful things, but those who follow the Spirit concentrate on spiritual things.
Denn wer nach des Fleisches Art ist, der geht auf des Fleisches Ziele aus, wer nach des Geistes Art ist, auf des Geistes Ziele.
6 The sinful human mind results in death, but having the mind led by the Spirit results in life and peace.
Das Fleisch nämlich geht aus auf Tod - der Geist auf Leben und Friede -
7 The sinful human mind is hostile to God because it refuses to obey the law of God—in fact it never can,
darum weil das Fleisch ausgeht auf Feindschaft gegen Gott; denn es unterwirft sich dem Gesetze Gottes nicht, vermag es auch nicht;
8 and those who follow their sinful nature can never please God.
wer denn im Fleische zu Hause ist, kann Gott nicht gefallen.
9 But you're not following your sinful nature, but the Spirit—if it's true that the Spirit of God is living in you. For those that don't have the Spirit of Christ in them don't belong to him.
Ihr aber seid nicht im Fleisch zu Hause, sondern im Geiste, wenn anders Gottes Geist in euch wohnt:
10 However, if Christ is in you, even though your body is going to die because of sin, the Spirit gives you life because you're now right with God.
wer aber Christus' Geist nicht hat, der ist nicht sein. Ist aber Christus in euch, so heißt es beim Leibe: tot um der Sünde willen, beim Geist aber: Leben, um der Gerechtigkeit willen;
11 The Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you. He who raised Jesus from the dead will also give life to your dead bodies through his Spirit that lives in you.
wohnt aber der Geist dessen, der Jesus von den Toten erweckt hat, in euch, so wird der, der Christus Jesus von den Toten erweckte, auch eure sterblichen Leiber mittelst seines in euch wohnenden Geistes lebendig machen.
12 So brothers and sisters, we don't have to follow our sinful nature that operates according to our human desires.
So sind wir nun, Brüder, Schuldner nicht dem Fleisch, nach dem Fleisch zu leben;
13 For if you live under the control of your sinful nature, you're going to die. But if you follow the way of the Spirit, putting to death the evil things you do, then you will live.
denn wenn ihr nach dem Fleisch lebt, so geht ihr in den Tod. Wenn ihr aber durch den Geist des Leibes Gewohnheiten tötet, so werdet ihr leben.
14 All those who are led by the Spirit of God are God's children.
Denn die durch Gottes Geist getrieben werden, das sind Gottes Söhne.
15 You were not given a spirit to enslave and terrify you once more. No, what you received was the spirit that makes you children in God's family. Now we can shout out, “God is our Father!”
Ihr habt ja nicht empfangen einen Geist der Knechtschaft wiederum zur Furcht sondern einen Geist der Kindschaft habt ihr empfangen, indem wir rufen: Abba, Vater.
16 The Spirit himself agrees with us that we're God's children.
Da zeugt der Geist selbst zusammen mit unserem Geiste, daß wir Kinder Gottes sind.
17 If we're his children, then we're his heirs. We are heirs of God, and heirs together with Christ. But if we want to share in his glory we must share in his sufferings.
Sind wir aber Kinder, so sind wir auch Erben: Erben Gottes, und Miterben Christus', soferne wir anders mit leiden, auf daß wir auch mit verherrlicht werden.
18 Yet I'm convinced that what we suffer in the present is nothing compared to the future glory that will be revealed to us.
Denn ich achte, daß die Leiden der Gegenwart nichts wert sind gegen die Herrlichkeit, die sich künftig an uns offenbaren soll.
19 All of creation is patiently waiting, longing for God to reveal his children.
Denn das sehnsüchtige Harren der Schöpfung wartet auf die Offenbarung der Söhne Gottes.
20 For God allowed the purpose of creation to be frustrated.
Denn die Schöpfung war der Vergänglichkeit unterworfen, nicht freiwillig, sondern um deswillen, der sie unterwarf, auf Hoffnung dahin,
21 But creation itself waits in hope for the time when it will be set free from the slavery of decay and share the glorious freedom of God's children.
daß auch sie, die Schöpfung von dem Dienste der Verwesung soll befreit werden zur Freiheit der Herrlichkeit der Kinder Gottes.
22 We know that all creation groans with longing, suffering birth-pains even up till now.
Wissen wir ja, daß die ganze Schöpfung mitseufzt und mit in Wehen liegt bis jetzt.
23 Not only creation, but we too, who have a foretaste of the Spirit, we groan inwardly as we wait for God to “adopt” us—the redemption of our bodies.
Und nicht nur das, sondern auch wir selbst, die wir die Erstlingsgabe des Geistes haben, seufzen bei uns selbst in Erwartung unserer Sohnesrechte, der Erlösung unseres Leibes.
24 For we were saved by hope. Yet hope that's already seen isn't hope at all. Who hopes for what they can already see?
Denn durch Hoffnung sind wir gerettet, Hoffnung aber, die man sieht, ist nicht Hoffnung. Was man sieht, wozu soll man es erst hoffen?
25 Since we're hoping for what we haven't yet seen, we wait for it patiently.
Hoffen wir aber auf das, was wir nicht sehen, so harren wir in Geduld.
26 Similarly the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We don't know how to speak with God, but the Spirit himself intercedes with and through us by groans that can't be put into words.
Entsprechend aber greift auch der Geist ein, unserer Schwachheit zur Hilfe. Denn was wir beten sollen nach Gebühr, wissen wir nicht;
27 The one who examines the minds of everyone knows the Spirit's motives, because the Spirit pleads God's cause on behalf of the believers.
da tritt der Geist selbst ein mit unaussprechlichem Seufzen. Der aber die Herzen erforscht, weiß was der Geist will, weil er in Gottes Sinn für Heilige eintritt.
28 We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, those who he has called to be part of his plan.
Wir wissen aber, daß denen die Gott lieben, Gott in allem zum Besten hilft, als die da sind nach dem Vorsatz Berufene.
29 For God, choosing them in advance, set them apart to be like his Son, so that the Son would be the first of many brothers and sisters.
Denn die er zuvor versehen, die hat er auch vorausbestimmt zur Eingestaltung in seines Sohnes Bild, auf daß er der Erstgeborene unter vielen Brüdern sei.
30 Those that he chose, he also called; and those that he called, he also made right; and those that he made right, he also glorified.
Die er aber vorausbestimmt, die hat er auch berufen, die er berufen, auch gerechtfertigt, die er gerechtfertigt, auch herrlich gemacht.
31 So what's our response to all this? If God is for us, who can be against us?
Was wollen wir nun dazu sagen? Ist Gott für uns, wer ist wider uns?
32 God, who did not hold back his own Son, but gave him up for all of us, won't he also freely give us everything?
Der seines eigenen Sohnes nicht verschont hat, sondern hat ihn für uns alle dahingegeben, wie sollte er uns mit ihm nicht alles schenken?
33 Who can accuse God's special people of anything? It's God who sets us right,
Wer wird klagen wider Auserwählte Gottes? Gott ist da zum Rechtfertigen;
34 so who can condemn us? It's Christ Jesus who died—more importantly, who was raised from the dead—who stands at God's right-hand, presenting our case.
wer ist da zum Verdammen? Christus Jesus ist da, der gestorben, vielmehr der auferweckt ist, der da ist zur Rechten Gottes, und er tritt für uns ein.
35 Who can separate us from Christ's love? Can oppression, distress, or persecution? Or hunger, poverty, danger, or violence?
Wer will uns scheiden von der Liebe des Christus? Trübsal oder Bedrängnis oder Verfolgung oder Hunger oder Blöße oder Gefahr oder Schwert?
36 Just as Scripture says, “For your sake we're in danger of being killed all the time. We're treated like sheep to be slaughtered.”
Wie geschrieben steht: Um deinetwillen werden wir getötet den ganzen Tag, wir sind geachtet wie Schlachtschafe.
37 No—in all that happens to us we're more than conquerors through him who loved us.
Aber in dem allem überwinden wir weit durch den der uns geliebt hat.
38 I'm absolutely convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor devils, neither the present nor the future, nor powers,
Denn ich bin gewiß, daß weder Tod noch Leben, weder Engel noch Gewalten, weder Gegenwärtiges und Zukünftiges noch irgend welche Mächte,
39 neither height nor depth, in fact nothing in all creation can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
weder Höhe noch Tiefe, noch irgend ein anderes Wesen, uns scheiden mag von der Liebe Gottes, die da ist in Christus Jesus unserem Herrn.
