< Psalms 78 >

1 A psalm (maskil) of Asaph. Listen to what I have to teach you, my people; hear what I have to say.
Dadkaygiiyow, sharcigayga dhegaysta, Oo dhegahana u dhiga erayada afkayga.
2 I will tell you wise sayings; I will explain mysteries from the past
Afkayga waxaan ku furi doonaa masaal, Oo waxaan ku dhawaaqi doonaa xujooyin hore,
3 that we have heard before and reflected on; stories our forefathers passed down to us.
Kuwaasoo aynu maqalnay oo aynu niqiin, Oo ay awowayaasheen inoo sheegeen.
4 We will not keep them from our children; we will tell the next generation about God's marvelous actions—about his power and the amazing things he has done.
Ka qarin mayno carruurtooda, Laakiin waxaynu farcanka soo socda u sheegaynaa Rabbiga ammaantiisa, Iyo xooggiisa, iyo shuqulladiisii yaabka badnaa oo uu sameeyey.
5 He gave his laws to the descendants of Jacob; his instructions to the people of Israel. He commanded our forefathers to teach them to their children,
Waayo, markhaati buu reer Yacquub ka dhex dhisay, Oo sharci buu reer binu Israa'iil u dejiyey, Kaasoo uu ku amray awowayaasheen, Inay carruurtooda dambe ogeysiiyaan aawadeed,
6 so that the next generation—children yet to be born—would understand and grow up to teach their children.
Iyo in farcanka soo socdaa ay iyaga ogaadaan, kuwaasoo ah carruurta hadda ka dib dhalanaysa, Kuwaasoo iyana kici doona oo carruurtooda u sheegi doona,
7 In this way they should place their trust in God and not forget what God has done, and keep his commandments.
Inay rajadooda Ilaah ku xidhaan, Oo aanay illoobin Ilaah shuqulladiisii, Laakiinse ay xajiyaan amarradiisa,
8 Then they would not be like their forefathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation that was untrustworthy and unfaithful.
Oo aanay sidii awowayaashood oo kale noqon Farcan madax adag oo caasi badan, Kaasoo ah farcan aan qalbigoodu qummanayn, Oo naftooduna aanay xagga Ilaah aamin ku ahayn.
9 The soldiers of Ephraim, though armed with bows, ran away on the day of battle.
Reer Efrayim iyagoo hub iyo qaansooyin sita Ayay maalintii dagaalka dib u noqdeen.
10 They did not keep God's agreement, and refused to follow his laws.
Axdigii Ilaah ma ay xajin, Oo waxay diideen inay sharcigiisii ku socdaan,
11 They ignored what he had done, and the amazing things he had shown them—
Oo waxay illoobeen falimihiisa Iyo shuqulladiisii yaabka badnaa oo uu iyaga tusay.
12 the miracles he had performed for their forefathers near Zoan in Egypt.
Waxyaalo yaab badan ayuu awowayaashood ku hor sameeyey, Markay joogeen dalkii Masar iyo berrinkii Socan.
13 He split the sea in two and led them through, making the water stand like walls on either side.
Isagu badduu kala gooyay, oo iyagii dhex marsiiyey, Oo biyihiina wuxuu ka dhigay inay sidii taallo u taagnaadaan.
14 He led them with a cloud by day, and by night with a light of fire.
Oo weliba maalinnimadii wuxuu ku hoggaamiyey daruur, Oo habeennimadii oo dhanna wuxuu ku hoggaamiyey dab iftiinkiis.
15 He split open rocks in the desert to give his people plenty to drink, water as deep as the ocean.
Wuxuu kala jebiyey dhagaxyadii cidlada, Oo wuxuu iyaga ka siiyey cabniin aad u badan oo ah sidii kan moolka laga helo.
16 He made streams flow from the stone; water rushing down like rivers!
Oo weliba wuxuu dhagaxa weyn ka soo faruuray durdurro, Oo wuxuu biyo u qulquliyey sidii webiyada oo kale.
17 But they repeatedly sinned against him, rebelling against the Most High in the desert.
Laakiinse iyagu weli way ku sii socdeen inay isaga ku dembaabaan, Inay ku caasiyoobaan Ilaaha ugu sarreeya intii ay cidladii joogeen.
18 They deliberately provoked God by demanding the foods they longed for.
Oo weliba Ilaah waxay ku tijaabiyeen qalbigooda Kolkii ay hilib u weyddiisteen damacooda aawadiis.
19 They insulted God by saying, “Can God provide food here in the desert?
Oo Ilaah bay wax ka sheegeen, Oo waxay yidhaahdeen, Ilaah ma miis buu cidlada ku diyaarin karaa?
20 Yes, he can strike a rock so that water gushes out like flowing rivers, but can he give us bread? Can he supply his people with meat?”
Bal eeg, dhagaxii ayuu wax ku dhuftay, markaasaa biyo ka soo buqdeen Oo durdurraa ka soo buuxdhaafay, Haddaba miyuu kibisna bixin karaa? Miyuu dadkiisa hilib siin karaa?
21 When he heard this, the Lord became very angry, burning like fire against the descendants of Jacob, furious with the people of Israel,
Sidaas daraaddeed Rabbigu taas buu maqlay, wuuna cadhooday, Oo reer Yacquub dab baa ku shidmay, Reer binu Israa'iilna cadhaa ku dhacday,
22 for they didn't believe in God and didn't trust him to take care of them.
Maxaa yeelay, Ilaah ma ay rumaysan, Oo badbaadintiisana iskuma ay hallayn.
23 Even so he commanded the skies above and the doors of heaven to open,
Laakiin isagu wuxuu amray cirka sare Oo albaabbadii samadana wuu furay;
24 and he made manna rain down on them to eat, giving them bread from heaven.
Oo wuxuu ku soo daayay maanna ay cunaan, Oo wuxuu iyagii wax ka siiyey hadhuudhkii samada.
25 Human beings ate the bread of angels; he sent them more than enough food.
Dadkii waxay cuneen kibistii malaa'igaha, Oo weliba wuxuu iyaga u soo diray hilib ay ka dhergaan.
26 He sent the east wind blowing across the sky; by his power he drove the south wind.
Isagu wuxuu samada ka kiciyey dabaysha bari, Oo dabaysha koonfureedna xooggiisuu ku hoggaamiyey.
27 He rained down meat on them as plentiful as dust; birds as numerous as sand on a beach.
Oo korkoodana hilib buu ugu soo daadiyey sidii ciidda oo kale, Oo wuxuu ku soo daayay haad baalal leh oo ah sidii cammuudda badaha,
28 He made them fall right in the middle of their camp, all around where they were living.
Oo wuxuu ku soo daadiyey xeradooda dhexdeeda, Iyo rugahooda hareerahooda.
29 They ate until they were full. He gave them the food they longed for.
Sidaas daraaddeed iyagii way cuneen, oo aad bay uga dhergeen, Oo isna wuxuu iyagii siiyey wixii ay u jeellanaayeen.
30 But before they satisfied their appetite, while the meat was still in their mouths,
Iyagu jeelkii damacooda kama ay xiisa dhicin, Oo cuntadoodii weli afkooday ku jirtay,
31 God became angry with them and he killed their strongest men, striking them down in the prime of life.
Markii cadhada Ilaah ay iyaga ku dhacday, Oo ay dishay kuwii iyaga ugu buurbuurnaa, Oo ay laysay raggii dhallinyarada ahaa oo reer binu Israa'iil.
32 Despite all this they went right on sinning. Despite the miracles, they refused to trust him.
In kastoo waxyaalahaas oo dhammu ay ku dheceen, Weli way sii dembaabeen, Oo mana ay rumaysan shuqulladiisii yaabka badnaa.
33 So he snuffed out their futile lives, bringing them to an end in terror.
Sidaas daraaddeed maalmahoodii wuxuu ku dhammeeyey wax aan waxtar lahayn, Cimrigoodiina cabsi.
34 When he began killing them, the rest came back to God in repentance, praying to him.
Markii uu iyaga laayay ayay isaga dooneen, Oo haddiiba way soo noqdeen oo Ilaah goor hore doondooneen.
35 They remembered that God was their rock, that God Most High was their Savior.
Oo waxay xusuusteen in Ilaah ahaa dhagaxoodii weynaa, Iyo in Ilaaha ugu sarreeyaa uu ahaa Bixiyahooda.
36 They flattered him by what they told him, but they were only lying.
Laakiinse waxay isaga ku faansheen afkooda, Oo carrabkoodana been bay ugu sheegeen.
37 Deep down they were not sincere, and did not keep the agreement they had with him.
Waayo, qalbigoodu xaggiisa kuma hagaagsanayn, Oo axdigiisiina daacad uma ay ahayn.
38 But being compassionate he pardoned their guilt and did not destroy all of them. He often held back his anger—he did not pour out all his fury.
Laakiinse isagoo raxmad miidhan ah ayuu xumaantoodii cafiyey, oo mana uu baabbi'in iyagii, Haah, oo marar badan ayuu cadhadiisii ka leexiyey, Oo cadhadiisii oo dhanna ma uu wada kicin.
39 He remembered their mortality—that they were like a puff of wind that would not return.
Oo wuxuu xusuustay inay iyagu yihiin binu-aadmi, Iyo dabayl iska gudubta oo aan mar dambe soo noqon.
40 How often they rebelled against him in the wilderness, giving him grief in the desert!
Immisa jeer bay isaga ku caasiyoobeen markay cidlada joogeen, Oo immisa jeer bay calool xumeeyeen markay lamadegaanka dhex joogeen!
41 Again and again they provoked God, causing pain to the Holy One of Israel.
Oo haddana way soo noqdeen oo waxay tijaabiyeen Ilaah, Oo waxay ka xanaajiyeen reer binu Israa'iil Kooda Quduuska ah.
42 They did not remember his strength when he rescued them from their oppressors,
Sooma ay xusuusan gacantiisii, Iyo maalintii uu iyaga ka soo furtay cadowga toona,
43 performing miracles in Egypt, doing wonderful things on the plain of Zoan.
Iyo xataa siduu calaamooyinkiisii Masar ugu dhex sameeyey, Yaababkiisiina berrinkii Socan.
44 There he turned their rivers and their streams into blood so that no one could drink from them.
Iyo siduu webiyaashoodii dhiigga ugu beddelay, Durdurradoodiina, si aanay waxba uga cabbi karin.
45 He sent flies among them to destroy them, and frogs to ruin everything.
Wuxuu ku soo dhex daayay duqsiyo badan, wayna cuneen, Iyo xataa rahyo, oo iyana way baabbi'iyeen.
46 He gave their crops to locusts; everything they worked had for was taken by locusts.
Oo weliba wixii u baxay wuxuu siiyey diir, Oo waxay ku hawshoodeenna wuxuu siiyey ayax.
47 He destroyed their vines with hail, and their fig trees with freezing rain.
Geedcanabkoodii wuxuu ku baabbi'iyey roobdhagaxyaale, Oo dhirtoodii darayga ahaydna wuxuu ku baabbi'iyey sayax barafoobay.
48 He handed over their cattle to hail and their flocks to lightning bolts.
Xoolahoodii wuxuu ku soo daayay roobdhagaxyaalaha, Adhyahoodiina danabyo kulul.
49 He poured out on them his fierce anger—rage and hostility and anguish—sending a band of destroying angels against them.
Oo wuxuu ku soo daayay kulaylkii cadhadiisa, Iyo xanaaq, iyo dhirif, iyo dhib, Iyo guuto ah malaa'igo shar ah.
50 He sent his unrestrained anger against them; he did not spare them from death, handing them over to the plague.
Isagu cadhadiisii wadduu u sameeyey, Oo naftoodiina dhimasho ugama uu lexejeclaan, Laakiinse noloshoodii wuxuu u daayay belaayada,
51 He struck down all the firstborn of Egypt, the first to be conceived in the tents of Ham.
Oo wuxuu dalkii Masar ku laayay curadyadii oo dhan, Kuwaas oo ahaa xooggoodii u horreeyey oo uu ku dhex laayay teendhooyinkii Xaam,
52 But he led out his people like sheep, and guided them like a flock in the wilderness.
Laakiinse isagu dadkiisii sidii ido oo kale ayuu u hor kacay, Oo cidladuu ku dhex hoggaamiyey iyaga sidii adhi oo kale.
53 He led them to safety, and they were not afraid. He drowned their enemies in the sea.
Oo ammaan buu ku hoggaamiyey, si aanay u baqin, Laakiinse cadaawayaashoodii baddaa qarqisay.
54 He brought them to the border of his holy land, to this mountainous land that he had conquered for them.
Oo wuxuu iyagii keenay xuduudkii meeshiisa quduuska ah, Iyo ilaa buurtan ay midigtiisu iibsatay.
55 He drove out the heathen nations before them. He divided up the land for them to own. He settled the tribes of Israel in their tents.
Oo weliba hortoodana wuxuu ka eryay quruumaha, Oo dhaxal ahaan buu ugu qaybiyey. Oo qabiilooyinkii reer binu Israa'iilna wuxuu dejiyey teendhooyinkoodii.
56 But they provoked God Most High, rebelling against him. They did not follow what he had told them.
Laakiin way jirrabeen oo ku caasiyoobeen Ilaaha ugu sarreeya, Oo markhaatifurkiisiina ma ay xajin,
57 Just like their forefathers they turned away from God and were unfaithful to him, as twisted as a defective bow.
Laakiinse dib bay u noqdeen, oo sidii awowayaashood ayay si aan daacad ahayn ula dhaqmeen, Oo iyagu waxay u leexdeen sidii qaanso khiyaano badan.
58 They made him angry with their pagan high places of worship; they made him jealous with their idols.
Waayo, waxay isaga kaga xanaajiyeen meelahoodii sarsare, Oo waxay isaga uga hinaasiyeen sanamyadooda la qoray.
59 When God heard their worship he became furious and he totally rejected Israel.
Ilaah markuu taas maqlay ayuu cadhooday, Oo aad buu reer binu Israa'iil u karhay,
60 He abandoned his place at Shiloh, the Tabernacle where he lived among the people.
Sidaas daraaddeed taambuuggii Shiiloh wuu dayriyey, Kaasoo ah teendhadii uu dadka dhex dhigay,
61 He surrendered the Ark of his power, allowing it to be captured; handing it over into enemy hands.
Oo xooggiisii wuxuu u gacangeliyey maxaabiisnimo, Ammaantiisiina wuxuu ku riday cadowga gacantiisii.
62 He handed over his people to be slaughtered by the sword; he was furious with his chosen people.
Dadkiisiina wuxuu u gacangeliyey seef, Oo wuxuu u cadhooday dhaxalkiisii.
63 Their young men were destroyed by fire; their young women had no wedding songs.
Raggoodii dhallinyarada ahaa dab baa laastay, Gabdhahoodiina buraanbur aroos looma tirin.
64 Their priests were killed by the sword; their widows were unable to mourn.
Wadaaddadoodii waxay ku dhinteen seef, Carmalladoodiina uma ay barooran.
65 Then the Lord woke up as if from sleep, as a warrior sobering up from drinking wine.
Markaasaa Sayidku wuxuu u kacay sidii mid hurdo ka toosay, Sidii nin xoog badan oo la qaylinaya khamri daraaddiis.
66 He defeated his enemies, striking them on the back, causing them everlasting shame.
Cadaawayaashiisiina wuu ku dhuftay oo dib buu u celiyey, Oo wuxuu saaray ceeb aan weligeed ka hadhayn.
67 He rejected the descendants of Joseph, and did not choose the tribe of Ephraim.
Oo weliba wuu diiday teendhadii reer Yuusuf, Qabiilkii reer Efrayimna ma uu dooran,
68 Instead he chose the tribe of Judah, and Mount Zion which he loves.
Laakiinse wuxuu doortay qabiilkii reer Yahuudah, Iyo Buur Siyoon oo uu jeclaaday.
69 There he built his sanctuary, high like the heavens, on earth that he made to last forever.
Oo meeshiisii quduuska ahayd wuxuu u dhisay sidii meelaha sare, Iyo sidii dhulka uu weligiis adkeeyey.
70 He chose his servant David, taking him from the sheep pens,
Wuxuuna doortay addoonkiisii Daa'uud, Oo wuxuu isaga ka soo waday xeryaha idaha,
71 taking him from caring for the sheep and lambs to be a shepherd to the descendants of Jacob—God's special people, Israel.
Wuxuu ka soo waday laxihii ilmo nuujinayay oo uu raacayay, Inuu daajiyo reer Yacquub oo dadkiisa ah, iyo reer binu Israa'iil oo dhaxalkiisa ah.
72 Like a shepherd, he took care of them with sincere devotion, leading them with skillful hands.
Haddaba wuxuu u daajinayay si waafaqsan daacadnimada qalbigiisa, Oo wuxuu ku hoggaaminayay farsamada gacmihiisa.
