Matthew 4
1 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil.
| آنگاه عیسی به‌دست روح به بیابان برده شدتا ابلیس او را تجربه نماید. | ۱ |
2 After fasting forty days and nights, he was hungry.
| و چون چهل شبانه‌روز روزه داشت، آخر گرسنه گردید. | ۲ |
3 The tempter came and said to him, “If you really are the Son of God, order these stones to turn into bread.”
| پس تجربه کننده نزد او آمده، گفت: «اگر پسر خداهستی، بگو تا این سنگها نان شود.» | ۳ |
4 Jesus answered, “As Scripture says, ‘Human beings do not live by only eating bread, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
| در جواب گفت: «مکتوب است انسان نه محض نان زیست می‌کند، بلکه به هر کلمه‌ای که از دهان خدا صادرگردد.» | ۴ |
5 Then the devil took him to the holy city and placed him on the top of the Temple.
| آنگاه ابلیس او را به شهر مقدس برد و برکنگره هیکل برپا داشته، | ۵ |
6 “If you really are the son of God, then throw yourself off,” he told Jesus. “As Scripture says, ‘He will order his angels to save you from harm. They will catch you so that you won't fall by tripping over a stone.’”
| به وی گفت: «اگر پسرخدا هستی، خود را به زیر انداز، زیرا مکتوب است که فرشتگان خود را درباره تو فرمان دهد تاتو را به‌دستهای خود برگیرند، مبادا پایت به سنگی خورد.» | ۶ |
7 Jesus answered, “As Scripture also says, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’”
| عیسی وی را گفت: «و نیزمکتوب است خداوند خدای خود را تجربه مکن.» | ۷ |
8 Then the devil took Jesus to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in all their glory.
| پس ابلیس او را به کوهی بسیار بلند برد وهمه ممالک جهان و جلال آنها را بدو نشان داده، | ۸ |
9 He said to Jesus, “I will give you all these if you fall down on your knees and worship me.”
| به وی گفت: «اگر افتاده مرا سجده کنی، همانا این همه را به تو بخشم.» | ۹ |
10 “Go away, Satan!” said Jesus. “As Scripture says, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God and serve him, and him alone.’”
| آنگاه عیسی وی راگفت: «دور شو‌ای شیطان، زیرا مکتوب است که خداوند خدای خود را سجده کن و او را فقطعبادت نما.» | ۱۰ |
11 Then the devil left him, and angels came to care for him.
| در ساعت ابلیس او را رها کرد واینک فرشتگان آمده، او را پرستاری می‌نمودند. | ۱۱ |
12 When Jesus heard that John had been arrested, he returned to Galilee.
| و چون عیسی شنید که یحیی گرفتار شده است، به جلیل روانه شد، | ۱۲ |
13 Leaving Nazareth, he came to stay in Capernaum, on the shores of the sea in the regions of Zebulun and Naphthali.
| و ناصره را ترک کرده، آمد و به کفرناحوم، به کناره دریا در حدودزبولون و نفتالیم ساکن شد. | ۱۳ |
14 This fulfilled what Isaiah the prophet said,
| تا تمام گردد آنچه به زبان اشعیای نبی گفته شده بود | ۱۴ |
15 “In the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphthali, on the road to the sea, across the Jordan River, in Galilee where the foreigners live:
| که «زمین زبولون و زمین نفتالیم، راه دریا آن طرف اردن، جلیل امت‌ها؛ | ۱۵ |
16 The people living in darkness saw a great light; the light of dawn has shined on those living in the land of the shadow of death.”
| قومی که در ظلمت ساکن بودند، نوری عظیم دیدند و برنشینندگان دیار موت وسایه آن نوری تابید.» | ۱۶ |
17 From that time on Jesus began declaring his message, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has arrived!”
| از آن هنگام عیسی به موعظه شروع کرد و گفت: «توبه کنید زیراملکوت آسمان نزدیک است.» | ۱۷ |
18 As he was walking by the sea of Galilee Jesus saw two brothers. Simon, also called Peter, and his brother Andrew, were casting a net in the sea. They made their living by catching fish.
| و چون عیسی به کناره دریای جلیل می‌خرامید، دو برادر یعنی شمعون مسمی به پطرس و برادرش اندریاس را دید که دامی دردریا می‌اندازند، زیرا صیاد بودند. | ۱۸ |
19 “Come and follow me, and I will teach you how to catch people,” he told them.
| بدیشان گفت: «از عقب من آیید تا شما را صیاد مردم گردانم.» | ۱۹ |
20 They left their nets immediately and followed him.
| در ساعت دامها را گذارده، از عقب او روانه شدند. | ۲۰ |
21 Continuing on he saw two other brothers, James and John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, mending their nets. He called them to follow him.
| و چون از آنجا گذشت دو برادردیگر یعنی یعقوب، پسر زبدی و برادرش یوحنارا دید که در کشتی با پدر خویش زبدی، دامهای خود را اصلاح می‌کنند؛ ایشان را نیز دعوت نمود. | ۲۱ |
22 They left the boat and their father immediately, and followed him.
| در حال، کشتی و پدر خود را ترک کرده، از عقب او روانه شدند. | ۲۲ |
23 Jesus traveled throughout Galilee, teaching in the synagogues, telling the good news of the kingdom, and healing all the diseases and illnesses the people had.
| و عیسی در تمام جلیل می‌گشت و درکنایس ایشان تعلیم داده، به بشارت ملکوت موعظه همی نمود و هر مرض و هر درد قوم راشفا می‌داد. | ۲۳ |
24 News about him spread throughout the province of Syria. They brought everyone who was sick to him: people troubled by seizures, the demon-possessed, those who were mentally ill, people who were paralyzed, and he healed all of them.
| و اسم او در تمام سوریه شهرت یافت، و جمیع مریضانی که به انواع امراض ودردها مبتلا بودند و دیوانگان و مصروعان ومفلوجان را نزد او آوردند، و ایشان را شفا بخشید. | ۲۴ |
25 Large crowds followed him from Galilee, Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and the region beyond Jordan.
| و گروهی بسیار از جلیل و دیکاپولس واورشلیم و یهودیه و آن طرف اردن در عقب اوروانه شدند. | ۲۵ |
