< Matthew 28 >

1 Early Sunday morning, at dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb.
ⲁ̅ⲣⲟⲩϩⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲡⲥⲁⲃⲃⲁⲧⲟⲛ ⲉϩⲧⲟⲟⲩⲉ ⲛⲥⲟⲩⲁ ⲙⲡⲥⲁⲃⲃⲁⲧⲟⲛ. ⲁⲥⲉⲓ ⲛϭⲓⲙⲁⲣⲓⲁ ⲧⲙⲁⲅⲇⲁⲗⲏⲛⲏ ⲙⲛⲧⲕⲉⲙⲁⲣⲓⲁ ⲉⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲡⲧⲁⲫⲟⲥ.
2 All of a sudden there was a tremendous earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and rolled away the stone, and sat on it.
ⲃ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲓⲥϩⲏⲏⲧⲉ ⲉⲓⲥⲟⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲛⲕⲙⲧⲟ ⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲉ. ⲡⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲙⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲁϥⲉⲓ ⲉⲡⲉⲥⲏⲧ ϩⲛⲧⲡⲉ ⲁϥϯⲡⲉϥⲟⲩⲟⲓ ⲁϥⲥⲕⲟⲣⲕⲣ ⲙⲡⲱⲛⲉ. ⲁϥϩⲙⲟⲟⲥ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉϫⲱϥ.
3 His face blazed like lightning, and his clothes were as white as snow.
ⲅ̅ⲡⲉϥⲉⲓⲛⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲉϥⲟ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲉϥⲣⲏϭⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲧⲉϥϩⲃⲥⲱ ⲛⲉⲥⲟⲩⲟⲃϣ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲭⲓⲱⲛ.
4 The guards shook with fear, falling down as if they were dead.
ⲇ̅ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲇⲉ ϩⲛⲧⲉϥϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲁⲩⲛⲟⲉⲓⲛ ⲛϭⲓⲛⲉⲧϩⲁⲣⲉϩ. ⲁⲩϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲙⲟⲟⲩⲧ.
5 The angel told the women, “Don't be afraid! I know you're looking for Jesus, who was crucified.
ⲉ̅ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ ⲇⲉ ⲛϭⲓⲡⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲟⲥ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲛⲉϩⲓⲟⲙⲉ ϫⲉ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲙⲡⲣⲣϩⲟⲧⲉ. ϯⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲅⲁⲣ ϫⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛϣⲓⲛⲉ ⲛⲥⲁⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩⲥxⲟ̅ⲩ̅ ⲙⲙⲟϥ.
6 He's not here. He's risen from the dead, just as he said he would. Come and see where the Lord was lying.
ⲋ̅ⲛϥⲙⲡⲉⲓⲙⲁ ⲁⲛ ⲁϥⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲑⲉ ⲛⲧⲁϥϫⲟⲟⲥ. ⲁⲙⲏⲓⲧⲛ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲡⲙⲁ ⲉⲛⲉϥⲛϩⲏⲧϥ.
7 Now go quickly and tell his disciples that he's risen from the dead and that he's going on ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there, I promise you!”
ⲍ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲃⲱⲕ ϩⲛⲟⲩϭⲉⲡⲏ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛϫⲟⲟⲥ ⲛⲛⲉϥⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ϫⲉ ⲁϥⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛⲛⲉⲧⲙⲟⲟⲩⲧ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲓⲥϩⲏⲏⲧⲉ ϥⲛⲁⲣϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲛ ⲉⲧⲅⲁⲗⲓⲗⲁⲓⲁ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲁⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϩⲙⲡⲙⲁ ⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ. ⲉⲓⲥϩⲏⲏⲧⲉ ⲁⲓϫⲟⲟⲥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ.
8 They left the tomb quickly, both afraid and very happy, running to tell his disciples.
ⲏ̅ⲁⲩⲃⲱⲕ ϩⲛⲟⲩϭⲉⲡⲏ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙⲡⲉⲙϩⲁⲁⲩ ⲁⲩⲡⲱⲧ ϩⲛⲟⲩϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲙⲛⲟⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲛⲣⲁϣⲉ ⲉϫⲓⲡⲟⲩⲱ ⲛⲛⲉϥⲙⲁⲑⲏⲥ.
9 Suddenly Jesus came to meet them, and greeted them. They went over to him, held onto his feet and worshiped him.
ⲑ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲓⲥϩⲏⲏⲧⲉ ⲉⲓⲥⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲁϥⲧⲱⲙⲛⲧ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲭⲁⲓⲣⲁⲓⲧⲉ. ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩϯⲡⲉⲩⲟⲩⲟⲓ ⲁⲩⲁⲙⲁϩⲧⲉ ⲛⲛⲉϥⲟⲩⲉⲣⲏⲧⲉ ⲁⲩⲟⲩⲱϣⲧ ⲛⲁϥ.
10 Then Jesus said to them, “Don't be afraid! Go and tell my brothers to leave for Galilee, and they will see me there.”
ⲓ̅ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲛϭⲓⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ϫⲉ ⲙⲡⲣⲣϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲃⲱⲕ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛϫⲓⲡⲟⲩⲱ ⲛⲛⲁⲥⲛⲏⲩ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲩⲛⲁⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲅⲁⲗⲓⲗⲁⲓⲁ ⲉⲩⲛⲁⲛⲁⲩ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲣⲟⲓ ϩⲙⲡⲙⲁ ⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ.
11 As they left, some of the guards went into the city and explained to the chief priests everything that had happened.
ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲩⲃⲏⲕ ⲉⲓⲥϩⲟⲓⲛⲉ ⲛⲧⲕⲟⲩⲥⲧⲱⲇⲓⲁ ⲁⲩⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲧⲡⲟⲗⲓⲥ ⲁⲩϫⲓⲡⲟⲩⲱ ⲛⲛⲁⲣⲭⲓⲉⲣⲉⲩⲥ ⲛⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ.
12 After the chief priests had met with the elders, and worked out a plan, they bribed the soldiers with a great deal of money.
ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ⲁⲩⲥⲱⲟⲩϩ ⲇⲉ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲛⲛⲉⲡⲣⲉⲥⲃⲩⲧⲉⲣⲟⲥ. ⲁⲩϫⲓ ⲛⲟⲩϣⲟϫⲛⲉ ⲁⲩϯ ⲛϩⲛⲛⲟϭ ⲛϩⲟⲙⲛⲧ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲧⲟⲓ
13 “Say that his disciples came during the night and stole him while we were sleeping,” they told the soldiers.
ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲁϫⲓⲥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲉϥⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩⲉⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲩϣⲏ ⲁⲩϥⲓⲧϥ ⲛϫⲓⲟⲩⲉ ⲉⲛⲛⲕⲟⲧⲕ.
14 “And if the governor hears about this, we'll talk to him and you won't have to worry.”
ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ⲉϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲩϣⲁⲛⲥⲉⲧⲙⲡⲁⲓ ⲛϭⲓⲡϩⲏⲅⲉⲙⲱⲛ ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲧⲛⲛⲁⲡⲉⲓⲑⲉ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲛⲧⲛⲣⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲛⲁⲧⲣⲟⲟⲩϣ.
15 So the soldiers took the money and did what they were told. This story has been spread among the Jewish people to this very day.
ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲟⲩϫⲓ ⲛⲛϩⲟⲙⲛⲧ ⲁⲩⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲑⲉ ⲛⲧⲁⲩϯⲥⲃⲱ ⲛⲁⲩ. ⲡⲉⲓϣⲁϫⲉ ⲁϥϯⲥⲟⲉⲓⲧ ϩⲛⲛⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ ϣⲁⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲡⲟⲟⲩ ⲛϩⲟⲟⲩ.
16 But the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go.
ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ⲡⲙⲛⲧⲟⲩⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲁⲩⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲅⲁⲗⲓⲗⲁⲓⲁ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲡⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲧⲁϥⲧⲁⲥⲥⲉ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲛϭⲓⲓ̅ⲥ̅.
17 When they saw him they worshiped him, though some doubted.
ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲟⲩⲛⲁⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲁⲩⲟⲩⲱϣⲧ ⲛⲁϥ ϩⲟⲓⲛⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩⲇⲓⲥⲇⲁⲍⲉ.
18 Jesus came to them and told them, “All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ⲁϥϯⲡⲉϥⲟⲩⲟⲓ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲛϭⲓⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲁϥϣⲁϫⲉ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ. ϫⲉ ⲁⲩϯ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲛⲉⲝⲟⲩⲥⲓⲁ ⲛⲓⲙ ϩⲛⲧⲡⲉ. ⲁⲩⲱ ϩⲓϫⲙⲡⲕⲁϩ.
19 So go and make disciples of people of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ⲃⲱⲕ ϭⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛϯⲥⲃⲱ ⲛⲛϩⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ. ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲃⲁⲡⲧⲓⲍⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲡⲣⲁⲛ ⲙⲡⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲙⲛⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲛⲡⲉⲡ̅ⲛ̅ⲁ̅ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ.
20 Teach them to follow all the commands I have given you. Remember, I am always with you, to the very end of the world.” (aiōn g165)
ⲕ̅ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛϯⲥⲃⲱ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲉϩⲁⲣⲉϩ ⲉϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲛⲧⲁⲓϩⲟⲛⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲓⲥϩⲏⲏⲧⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ϯϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲛⲙⲙⲏⲧⲛ ⲛⲛⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ϣⲁⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲥⲩⲛⲧⲉⲗⲉⲓⲁ ⲙⲡⲁⲓⲱⲛ. ⲡⲉⲩⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲓⲟⲛ ⲛⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲙⲁⲑⲑⲁⲓⲟⲥ. (aiōn g165)
