Matthew 26
1 After Jesus had said all this, he told his disciples,
੧ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ ਜਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰ ਹਟਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ,
2 “You know that it's Passover in two days time, and the Son of man will be handed over to be crucified.”
੨ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹੋ ਜੋ ਦੋ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਪਸਾਹ ਦਾ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਲੀਬ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਜਾਣ ਲਈ ਫੜਵਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
3 Then the chief priests and the elders of the people gathered in the courtyard of Caiaphas, the high priest.
੩ਤਦ ਮੁੱਖ ਜਾਜਕ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਕਯਾਫ਼ਾ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਜਾਜਕ ਦੇ ਵਿਹੜੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਏ।
4 There they plotted to arrest Jesus on some deceitful pretext and kill him.
੪ਅਤੇ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਬਣਾਈ ਜੋ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਧੋਖੇ ਨਾਲ ਫੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਮਾਰ ਸੁੱਟੀਏ।
5 But they said, “Let's not do this during the festival so that the people don't riot.”
੫ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਖਿਆ ਜੋ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਨਹੀਂ, ਕਿਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੰਗਾਮਾ ਨਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ।
6 While Jesus was staying at Simon the leper's house in Bethany,
੬ਅਤੇ ਜਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਬੈਤਅਨੀਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਮਊਨ ਕੋੜ੍ਹੀ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਸੀ।
7 a woman came over to him carrying an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume. She poured it on Jesus' head while he was sitting eating. But when the disciples saw what she did, they were upset.
੭ਤਾਂ ਇੱਕ ਔਰਤ ਮਹਿੰਗੇ ਮੁੱਲ ਦਾ ਅਤਰ ਸ਼ੀਸ਼ੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਲਿਆਈ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਹ ਰੋਟੀ ਖਾਣ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਡੋਲ੍ਹ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
8 “What a terrible waste!” they objected.
੮ਪਰ ਚੇਲੇ ਇਹ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਖਿਝ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਬੋਲੇ, ਇਹ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਕਿਉਂ ਹੋਇਆ?
9 “This perfume could've been sold for a lot of money and given to the poor!”
੯ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਇਹ ਵੱਡੇ ਮੁੱਲ ਵਿਕਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਕੰਗਾਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ।
10 Jesus was aware of what was going on and told them, “Why are you upset with this woman? She's done something wonderful for me!
੧੦ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਇਸ ਔਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਪਰੇਸ਼ਾਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ? ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਚੰਗਾ ਵਰਤਾਵਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
11 You'll always have the poor with you, but you won't always have me.
੧੧ਕੰਗਾਲ ਤਾਂ ਸਦਾ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਾਂ।
12 By pouring this perfume on my body she's prepared me for burial.
੧੨ਇਹ ਅਤਰ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਦੇਹੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਾਇਆ ਸੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਦਫ਼ਨਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
13 I tell you the truth: wherever in the world this good news is spread, the story of what this woman has done will also be told in memory of her.”
੧੩ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਖੁਸ਼ਖਬਰੀ ਦਾ ਪਰਚਾਰ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ, ਉੱਥੇ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਯਾਦਗਾਰੀ ਲਈ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਖਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
14 Then Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve disciples, went to the chief priests
੧੪ਤਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਾਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਨੇ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਯਹੂਦਾ ਇਸਕਰਿਯੋਤੀ ਸੀ, ਮੁੱਖ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ
15 and asked them, “How much will you pay me for betraying Jesus to you?” They paid him thirty silver coins.
੧੫ਜੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਹੱਥ ਫੜਵਾ ਦਿਆਂ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਦਿਓਗੇ? ਤਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੀਹ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਦੇ ਸਿੱਕੇ ਤੋਲ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
16 From then on he looked for an opportunity to betray Jesus.
੧੬ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉਸੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਫੜਵਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਮੌਕਾ ਲੱਭਣ ਲੱਗਾ।
17 On the first day of the festival of unleavened bread, the disciples came to Jesus and asked him, “Where do you want us to prepare the Passover meal for you to eat?”
੧੭ਅਖ਼ਮੀਰੀ ਰੋਟੀ ਦੇ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਦੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਕੋਲ ਆ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਤੂੰ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਜੋ ਅਸੀਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਖਾਣ ਲਈ ਪਸਾਹ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰੀਏ?
18 Jesus told them, “Go into the city and find this particular man, and tell him that the Teacher says, ‘My time is approaching. I'm coming to celebrate the Passover with my disciples at your house.’”
੧੮ਤਦ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਲ਼ਾਣੇ ਕੋਲ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਖੋ ਕਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਨੇੜੇ ਆ ਗਿਆ। ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਤੇਰੇ ਘਰ ਪਸਾਹ ਦਾ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਮਨਾਵਾਂਗਾ।
19 The disciples did as Jesus told them, and prepared the Passover meal there.
੧੯ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ, ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਪਸਾਹ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤਾ।
20 When evening came he sat down to eat with the Twelve.
੨੦ਜਦ ਸ਼ਾਮ ਹੋਈ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਬਾਰਾਂ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਬੈਠਾ ਖਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ।
21 While they were eating he told them, “I tell you the truth: one of you is going to betray me.”
੨੧ਅਤੇ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਖਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਫੜਵਾਏਗਾ।
22 They were extremely upset. One after the other they asked him, “Lord, it's not me, is it?”
੨੨ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਉਦਾਸ ਹੋਏ ਅਤੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਣ ਲੱਗਾ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਉਹ ਮੈਂ ਹਾਂ?
23 “The one who's dipped his hand into the dish with me will betray me,” Jesus replied.
੨੩ਉਹ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਕਟੋਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੱਥ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹੋ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਫੜਵਾਏਗਾ।
24 “The Son of man will die just as it was prophesied about him, but what a disaster it will be for the man who betrays the Son of man! It would be better for that man if he'd never been born!”
੨੪ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਹਾਏ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਫੜਵਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ! ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਜੇ ਉਹ ਨਾ ਜੰਮਦਾ।
25 Judas, the one who would betray Jesus, asked “It's not me, is it, Rabbi?” “You said it,” Jesus replied.
੨੫ਤਦ ਯਹੂਦਾ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਫੜਵਾਇਆ ਅੱਗੋਂ ਬੋਲਿਆ, ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ, ਕੀ ਉਹ ਮੈਂ ਹਾਂ? ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
26 While they were eating, Jesus took some bread and blessed it. Then he broke it and gave pieces to the disciples. “Take and eat this for it is my body,” said Jesus.
੨੬ਜਦ ਉਹ ਖਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ, ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਰੋਟੀ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਬਰਕਤ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਤੋੜੀ ਅਤੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਲਓ ਖਾਓ, ਇਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਹੈ।
27 Then he picked up the cup, blessed it, and gave it to them. “Drink from it, all of you,” he told them.
੨੭ਫੇਰ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਪਿਆਲਾ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਪੀਓ।
28 “For this is my blood of the agreement, poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.
੨੮ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਨੇਮ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਉਹ ਲਹੂ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਬਹੁਤਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਾਫ਼ੀ ਲਈ ਵਹਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
29 However, I tell you, I won't drink this fruit of the vine until the day I drink it new with you in the kingdom of my Father.”
੨੯ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜੋ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਅੰਗੂਰ ਦੇ ਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਨਾ ਪੀਵਾਂਗਾ ਜਿਸ ਦਿਨ ਤੱਕ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਨਵਾਂ ਨਾ ਪੀਵਾਂ।
30 After they'd sung a song, they left for the Mount of Olives.
੩੦ਫੇਰ ਉਹ ਭਜਨ ਗਾ ਕੇ ਜ਼ੈਤੂਨ ਦੇ ਪਹਾੜ ਨੂੰ ਨਿੱਕਲ ਗਏ।
31 “All of you will abandon me tonight,” Jesus told them. “As Scripture says, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the flock of sheep will be completely scattered.’
੩੧ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਅੱਜ ਰਾਤ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸੱਭੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਠੋਕਰ ਖਾਵੋਗੇ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਹ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਅਯਾਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਜੜ ਦੀਆਂ ਭੇਡਾਂ ਖਿੱਲਰ ਜਾਣਗੀਆਂ।
32 But after I have risen, I'll go ahead of you to Galilee.”
੩੨ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀ ਉੱਠਣ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੋਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਗਲੀਲ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਂਵਾਂਗਾ ।
33 But Peter objected, “Even if everyone else abandons you, I'll never abandon you.”
੩੩ਤਦ ਪਤਰਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਭਾਵੇਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਸੱਭੇ ਠੋਕਰ ਖਾਣ ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਠੋਕਰ ਕਦੇ ਨਾ ਖਾਵਾਂਗਾ।
34 “I'm telling you the truth,” Jesus told him, “This very night, before the cock crows, you'll deny me three times.”
੩੪ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਅੱਜ ਰਾਤ ਮੁਰਗੇ ਦੇ ਬਾਂਗ ਦੇਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਤਿੰਨ ਵਾਰੀ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰੇਂਗਾ।
35 “Even if I have to die with you, I'll never deny you!” Peter insisted. And all the disciples said the same thing.
੩੫ਪਤਰਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਭਾਵੇਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਰਨਾ ਵੀ ਪਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਦੀ ਨਾ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਖਣ ਲੱਗੇ।
36 Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane. He told them, “Sit down here while I go over there and pray.”
੩੬ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਗਥਸਮਨੀ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਥਾਂ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇੱਥੇ ਬੈਠੋ, ਜਿੰਨਾਂ ਚਿਰ ਮੈਂ ਉੱਥੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰਾਂ।
37 He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee with him, and he began to suffer agonizing sorrow and distress.
੩੭ਅਤੇ ਪਤਰਸ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਬਦੀ ਦੇ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਉਦਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਦੁੱਖੀ ਹੋਣ ਲੱਗਾ।
38 Then he said to them, “I am so overwhelmed with sadness that it's killing me. Wait here and keep watch with me.”
੩੮ਫੇਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਬਹੁਤ ਉਦਾਸ ਹੈ, ਸਗੋਂ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਦਰਜੇ ਤੱਕ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇੱਥੇ ਠਹਿਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਗਦੇ ਰਹੋ।
39 He went a little farther forward, fell face down, and prayed. “My Father, please, if it's possible, let this cup of suffering be taken from me,” Jesus asked. “Even so, may it not be what I want but what you want.”
੩੯ਅਤੇ ਥੋੜ੍ਹਾ ਅੱਗੇ ਵਧ ਕੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਭਾਰ ਪੈ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਆਖਿਆ, ਹੇ ਪਿਤਾ, ਜੇ ਹੋ ਸਕੇ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਪਿਆਲਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਟਲ ਜਾਵੇ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
40 He went back to the disciples and found them asleep. He said to Peter, “What, you couldn't stay awake with me for just one hour?
੪੦ਅਤੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਆ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁੱਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਪਤਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਇਹ ਕੀ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ ਘੜੀ ਵੀ ਨਾ ਜਾਗ ਸਕੇ?
41 Stay awake and pray, so that you don't fall into temptation. Yes, the spirit is willing, but the body is weak.”
੪੧ਜਾਗੋ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰੋ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪਰਤਾਵੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾ ਪਓ। ਆਤਮਾ ਤਾਂ ਤਿਆਰ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਸਰੀਰ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ ਹੈ।
42 He went away a second time and prayed. “My Father, if this cup cannot be taken from me without me drinking from it, then your will be done,” he said.
੪੨ਫੇਰ ਉਹ ਦੂਜੀ ਵਾਰ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ, ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ, ਜੇ ਇਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੀਣ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਟਲ ਸਕਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਮਰਜ਼ੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੋਵੇ।
43 He went back and found them sleeping, for they just couldn't stay awake.
੪੩ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਫੇਰ ਸੁੱਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨੀਂਦ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਸਨ।
44 So he left them once more, and went off and prayed a third time, repeating the same things.
੪੪ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਫੇਰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹੋ ਗੱਲ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਤੀਜੀ ਵਾਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ
45 Then he returned to the disciples, and told them, “How can you still be sleeping and resting? Look, the time has come. The Son of man is about to be betrayed into the hands of sinners!
੪੫ਫੇਰ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਕੋਲ ਆ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਹੁਣ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸੁੱਤੇ ਰਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਆਰਾਮ ਕਰੋ। ਵੇਖੋ, ਸਮਾਂ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਪਾਪੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਫੜਵਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
46 Get up, let's go! See, the one who's betraying me has arrived.”
੪੬ਉੱਠੋ, ਚੱਲੀਏ। ਵੇਖੋ, ਮੇਰਾ ਫੜਵਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨੇੜੇ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
47 As he said this, Judas, one of the Twelve, arrived with a large mob armed with swords and clubs sent by the chief priests and elders of the people.
੪੭ਉਹ ਅਜੇ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੀ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਵੇਖੋ ਯਹੂਦਾ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਾਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਸੀ ਆ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗਾਂ ਦੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡੀ ਭੀੜ ਤਲਵਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਡਾਂਗਾਂ ਫੜੀ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੀ।
48 The betrayer had arranged to give them a signal: “The one that I kiss, that's him—arrest him,” he'd told them.
੪੮ਉਹ ਦੇ ਫੜਵਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਕਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਚੁੰਮਾਂ ਉਹੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਫੜ੍ਹ ਲੈਣਾ।
49 Judas came up to Jesus immediately, and said, “Hello, Rabbi,” and kissed him.
੪੯ਅਤੇ ਝੱਟ ਯਿਸੂ ਕੋਲ ਆ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਨਮਸਕਾਰ ਆਖਿਆ! ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਚੁੰਮਿਆ।
50 “My friend, do what you came to do,” Jesus said to Judas. So they came and grabbed hold of Jesus, and arrested him.
੫੦ਤਾਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮਿੱਤਰਾ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਆਇਆ? ਤਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕੋਲ ਆ ਕੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੱਥ ਪਾਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਫੜ੍ਹ ਲਿਆ।
51 One of those who was with Jesus reached for his sword and pulled it out. He struck the high priest's servant, cutting off his ear.
੫੧ਅਤੇ ਵੇਖੋ, ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਦਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਨੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਧਾ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਖਿੱਚ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਜਾਜਕ ਦੇ ਨੌਕਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਕੰਨ ਉਡਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
52 But Jesus told him, “Put your sword away. Everyone who fights with the sword will die by the sword.
੫੨ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਆਪਣੀ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਮਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਸਭ ਜੋ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਖਿੱਚਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤਲਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ।
53 Don't you think I could ask my Father, and he'd immediately send more than twelve legions of angels?
੫੩ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਇਹ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਹੁਣੇ ਦੂਤਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਾਰਾਂ ਫੌਜਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਨਾ ਕਰੇਗਾ?
54 But then how could the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must be like this?”
੫੪ਫੇਰ ਉਹ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਦੀਆਂ ਲਿਖਤਾਂ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਹੋਣਗੀਆਂ, ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਹੋਣਾ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਹੈ?
55 Then Jesus told the mob, “Have you come with swords and clubs to arrest me as if I was some kind of dangerous criminal? Every day I sat in the Temple teaching and you didn't arrest me then.
੫੫ਉਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਭੀੜ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਤਲਵਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਡਾਂਗਾਂ ਫੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਡਾਕੂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਫੜ੍ਹਨ ਨੂੰ ਨਿੱਕਲੇ ਹੋ? ਮੈਂ ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਹੈਕਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਫੜ੍ਹਿਆ।
56 But all this is happening to fulfill what the prophets wrote.” Then all the disciples abandoned him and ran away.
੫੬ਪਰ ਇਹ ਸੱਭੋ ਕੁਝ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਹੋਇਆ ਜੋ ਨਬੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਲਿਖਤਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਹੋਣ। ਤਦ ਸਾਰੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਭੱਜ ਗਏ।
57 Those who'd arrested Jesus took him to the home of Caiaphas, the high priest, where the religious teachers and elders had gathered.
੫੭ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਫੜਿਆ ਸੀ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਜਾਜਕ ਕਯਾਫ਼ਾ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਅਤੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ, ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਗਏ।
58 Peter followed him at a distance, and went into the high priest's courtyard. He sat there with the guards to see how things would end.
੫੮ਅਤੇ ਪਤਰਸ ਕੁਝ ਦੂਰੀ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ-ਪਿੱਛੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਜਾਜਕ ਦੇ ਵਿਹੜੇ ਤੱਕ ਚੱਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਸਿਪਾਹੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਬੈਠਾ, ਕਿ ਅੰਤ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖੇ।
59 The chief priests and the whole council were trying to find some false evidence against Jesus so they could put him to death.
੫੯ਮੁੱਖ ਜਾਜਕ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਮਹਾਂ ਸਭਾ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਨੋਂ ਮਾਰਨ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਲੱਭਦੀ ਸੀ।
60 But they couldn't find anything, even though many false witnesses came forward. Eventually two came forward
੬੦ਪਰ ਨਾ ਲੱਭੀ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਝੂਠੇ ਗਵਾਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਆਏ। ਪਰ ਆਖਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਦੋ ਜਣੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਬੋਲੇ,
61 and reported, “This man said, ‘I can destroy God's Temple, and rebuild it in three days.’”
੬੧ਇਹ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਹੈਕਲ ਨੂੰ ਢਾਹ ਕੇ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਬਣਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
62 The high priest stood up and asked Jesus, “Have you no answer? What do you have to say in your defense?”
੬੨ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਜਾਜਕ ਨੇ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਜ਼ਵਾਬ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੰਦਾ? ਇਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਕੀ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ?
63 But Jesus remained silent. The high priest said to Jesus, “In the name of the living God I place you under oath. Tell us if you are the Messiah, the Son of God.”
੬੩ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਚੁੱਪ ਹੀ ਰਿਹਾ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਜਾਜਕ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਜਿਉਂਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਸਹੁੰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਮਸੀਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸ।
64 “You said it,” Jesus replied. “And I also tell you that in the future you'll see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of the Almighty, and coming on the clouds of heaven.”
੬੪ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਤੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਆਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਦੇ ਸੱਜੇ ਹੱਥ ਬਿਰਾਜਮਾਨ ਹੋਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਦੇ ਬੱਦਲਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਵੇਖੋਗੇ।
65 Then the high priest tore his clothes, and said, “He's speaking blasphemy! Why do we need any witnesses? Look, now you've heard for yourselves his blasphemy!
੬੫ਤਦ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਜਾਜਕ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਪਾੜ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਇਸ ਨੇ ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ, ਹੁਣ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਗਵਾਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਕੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ? ਵੇਖੋ ਹੁਣੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਹ ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਸੁਣੀ ਹੈ । ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਕੀ ਸਲਾਹ ਹੈ?
66 What's your verdict?” “Guilty! He deserves to die!” they answered.
੬੬ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਇਹ ਮਾਰੇ ਜਾਣ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਹੈ।
67 Then they spat in his face and beat him. Some of them slapped him with their hands,
੬੭ਤਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਥੁੱਕਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੱਕੇ ਮਾਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਚਪੇੜਾਂ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ,
68 and said, “Prophesy to us, you ‘Messiah’! Who just hit you?”
੬੮ਹੇ ਮਸੀਹ, ਸਾਨੂੰ ਅਗੰਮ ਭਵਿੱਖਬਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਦੱਸ, ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕਿਸ ਨੇ ਮਾਰਿਆ?
69 Meanwhile Peter was sitting outside in the courtyard. A servant girl came up to him, and said, “You were with Jesus the Galilean too!”
੬੯ਅਤੇ ਪਤਰਸ ਬਾਹਰ ਵਿਹੜੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੈਠਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਦਾਸੀ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਆ ਕੇ ਬੋਲੀ, ਯਿਸੂ ਗਲੀਲੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਤੂੰ ਵੀ ਸੀ।
70 But he denied it in front of everyone. “I don't know what you're talking about,” he said.
੭੦ਪਰ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਮੁੱਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਤੂੰ ਕੀ ਬੋਲਦੀ ਹੈਂ।
71 When he went back to the courtyard entrance another servant girl saw him and said to the people there, “This man was with Jesus of Nazareth.”
੭੧ਜਦ ਉਹ ਬਾਹਰ ਡਿਉੜੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਦੂਜੀ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਸਨ ਆਖਿਆ, ਇਹ ਵੀ ਯਿਸੂ ਨਾਸਰੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੀ।
72 Once again he denied it, saying with an oath, “I don't know him.”
੭੨ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸਹੁੰ ਖਾ ਕੇ ਫੇਰ ਮੁੱਕਰ ਗਿਆ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ।
73 A little while later the people standing there came up to Peter and said, “You definitely are one of them. Your accent gives you away.”
੭੩ਅਤੇ ਥੋੜ੍ਹੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਪਿੱਛੋਂ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਸਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਆ ਕੇ ਪਤਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਸੱਚੀ ਮੁੱਚੀ ਤੂੰ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹੈਂ, ਤੇਰੀ ਬੋਲੀ ਦੱਸਦੀ ਹੈ।
74 Then he started to swear: “Curses on me if I'm a liar! I don't know the man!” Immediately the cock crowed.
੭੪ਤਦ ਉਹ ਸਰਾਪ ਦੇਣ ਅਤੇ ਸਹੁੰ ਖਾਣ ਲੱਗਾ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ। ਅਤੇ ਉਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਮੁਰਗੇ ਨੇ ਬਾਂਗ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
75 Then Peter remembered what Jesus had told him: “Before the cock crows, three times you will deny knowing me.” He went outside and wept bitterly.
੭੫ਤਦੋਂ ਪਤਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਗੱਲ ਯਾਦ ਆਈ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖੀ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਮੁਰਗੇ ਦੇ ਬਾਂਗ ਦੇਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਤਿੰਨ ਵਾਰੀ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰੇਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਬਾਹਰ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਭੁੱਬਾਂ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਰੋਇਆ।
