Mark 10
1 Jesus left Capernaum and went to the region of Judea and Transjordan. Once again people flocked to see him, and he was teaching them like he always did.
ਅਨਨ੍ਤਰੰ ਸ ਤਤ੍ਸ੍ਥਾਨਾਤ੍ ਪ੍ਰਸ੍ਥਾਯ ਯਰ੍ੱਦਨਨਦ੍ਯਾਃ ਪਾਰੇ ਯਿਹੂਦਾਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਉਪਸ੍ਥਿਤਵਾਨ੍, ਤਤ੍ਰ ਤਦਨ੍ਤਿਕੇ ਲੋਕਾਨਾਂ ਸਮਾਗਮੇ ਜਾਤੇ ਸ ਨਿਜਰੀਤ੍ਯਨੁਸਾਰੇਣ ਪੁਨਸ੍ਤਾਨ੍ ਉਪਦਿਦੇਸ਼|
2 Some Pharisees came to see him. They tried to test him by asking the question, “Is divorce legal?”
ਤਦਾ ਫਿਰੂਸ਼ਿਨਸ੍ਤਤ੍ਸਮੀਪਮ੍ ਏਤ੍ਯ ਤੰ ਪਰੀਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਿਤੁੰ ਪਪ੍ਰੱਛਃ ਸ੍ਵਜਾਯਾ ਮਨੁਜਾਨਾਂ ਤ੍ਯਜ੍ਯਾ ਨ ਵੇਤਿ?
3 “What did Moses tell you to do?” he asked in reply.
ਤਤਃ ਸ ਪ੍ਰਤ੍ਯਵਾਦੀਤ੍, ਅਤ੍ਰ ਕਾਰ੍ੱਯੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਨ੍ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਕਿਮਾਜ੍ਞਾਪਯਤ੍?
4 “Moses allowed a man to write a certificate of divorce and send the woman away,” they replied.
ਤ ਊਚੁਃ ਤ੍ਯਾਗਪਤ੍ਰੰ ਲੇਖਿਤੁੰ ਸ੍ਵਪਤ੍ਨੀਂ ਤ੍ਯਕ੍ਤੁਞ੍ਚ ਮੂਸਾ(ਅ)ਨੁਮਨ੍ਯਤੇ|
5 Then Jesus told them, “Moses only wrote down this rule for you because of your hard-hearted attitude.
ਤਦਾ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਃ ਪ੍ਰਤ੍ਯੁਵਾਚ, ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਕੰ ਮਨਸਾਂ ਕਾਠਿਨ੍ਯਾੱਧੇਤੋ ਰ੍ਮੂਸਾ ਨਿਦੇਸ਼ਮਿਮਮ੍ ਅਲਿਖਤ੍|
6 However, in the beginning, from creation, God made male and female.
ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਸ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼਼੍ਟੇਰਾਦੌ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰੋ ਨਰਾਨ੍ ਪੁੰਰੂਪੇਣ ਸ੍ਤ੍ਰੀਰੂਪੇਣ ਚ ਸਸਰ੍ਜ|
7 That's why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined in marriage to his wife,
"ਤਤਃ ਕਾਰਣਾਤ੍ ਪੁਮਾਨ੍ ਪਿਤਰੰ ਮਾਤਰਞ੍ਚ ਤ੍ਯਕ੍ਤ੍ਵਾ ਸ੍ਵਜਾਯਾਯਾਮ੍ ਆਸਕ੍ਤੋ ਭਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤਿ,
8 and the two become one body. They are no longer two but one.
ਤੌ ਦ੍ਵਾਵ੍ ਏਕਾਙ੍ਗੌ ਭਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤਃ| " ਤਸ੍ਮਾਤ੍ ਤਤ੍ਕਾਲਮਾਰਭ੍ਯ ਤੌ ਨ ਦ੍ਵਾਵ੍ ਏਕਾਙ੍ਗੌ|
9 Let no one separate what God has joined together.”
ਅਤਃ ਕਾਰਣਾਦ੍ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰੋ ਯਦਯੋਜਯਤ੍ ਕੋਪਿ ਨਰਸ੍ਤੰਨ ਵਿਯੇਜਯੇਤ੍|
10 When they were back indoors, the disciples began asking him about this.
ਅਥ ਯੀਸ਼ੁ ਰ੍ਗ੍ਰੁʼਹੰ ਪ੍ਰਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਟਸ੍ਤਦਾ ਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਾਃ ਪੁਨਸ੍ਤਤ੍ਕਥਾਂ ਤੰ ਪਪ੍ਰੱਛੁਃ|
11 “Any man who divorces his wife and marries again commits adultery against her,” he told them.
ਤਤਃ ਸੋਵਦਤ੍ ਕਸ਼੍ਚਿਦ੍ ਯਦਿ ਸ੍ਵਭਾਰ੍ੱਯਾਂ ਤ੍ਯਕ੍ਤਵਾਨ੍ਯਾਮ੍ ਉਦ੍ਵਹਤਿ ਤਰ੍ਹਿ ਸ ਸ੍ਵਭਾਰ੍ੱਯਾਯਾਃ ਪ੍ਰਾਤਿਕੂਲ੍ਯੇਨ ਵ੍ਯਭਿਚਾਰੀ ਭਵਤਿ|
12 “And if the wife divorces her husband and marries again she commits adultery.”
ਕਾਚਿੰਨਾਰੀ ਯਦਿ ਸ੍ਵਪਤਿੰ ਹਿਤ੍ਵਾਨ੍ਯਪੁੰਸਾ ਵਿਵਾਹਿਤਾ ਭਵਤਿ ਤਰ੍ਹਿ ਸਾਪਿ ਵ੍ਯਭਿਚਾਰਿਣੀ ਭਵਤਿ|
13 Some people brought their children to Jesus so that he could bless them, but the disciples told them off and tried to keep the children away from Jesus.
ਅਥ ਸ ਯਥਾ ਸ਼ਿਸ਼ੂਨ੍ ਸ੍ਪ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼ੇਤ੍, ਤਦਰ੍ਥੰ ਲੋਕੈਸ੍ਤਦਨ੍ਤਿਕੰ ਸ਼ਿਸ਼ਵ ਆਨੀਯਨ੍ਤ, ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਾਸ੍ਤਾਨਾਨੀਤਵਤਸ੍ਤਰ੍ਜਯਾਮਾਸੁਃ|
14 But when Jesus saw what they were doing, he became very upset and told them, “Let the children come to me! Don't stop them, for the kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children.
ਯੀਸ਼ੁਸ੍ਤਦ੍ ਦ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼਼੍ਟ੍ਵਾ ਕ੍ਰੁਧ੍ਯਨ੍ ਜਗਾਦ, ਮੰਨਿਕਟਮ੍ ਆਗਨ੍ਤੁੰ ਸ਼ਿਸ਼ੂਨ੍ ਮਾ ਵਾਰਯਤ, ਯਤ ਏਤਾਦ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼ਾ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰਰਾਜ੍ਯਾਧਿਕਾਰਿਣਃ|
15 I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn't welcome the kingdom of God like a child won't enter it.”
ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਨਹੰ ਯਥਾਰ੍ਥੰ ਵਚ੍ਮਿ, ਯਃ ਕਸ਼੍ਚਿਤ੍ ਸ਼ਿਸ਼ੁਵਦ੍ ਭੂਤ੍ਵਾ ਰਾਜ੍ਯਮੀਸ਼੍ਵਰਸ੍ਯ ਨ ਗ੍ਰੁʼਹ੍ਲੀਯਾਤ੍ ਸ ਕਦਾਪਿ ਤਦ੍ਰਾਜ੍ਯੰ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼਼੍ਟੁੰ ਨ ਸ਼ਕ੍ਨੋਤਿ|
16 He hugged the children, placed his hands on them, and blessed them.
ਅਨਨਤਰੰ ਸ ਸ਼ਿਸ਼ੂਨਙ੍ਕੇ ਨਿਧਾਯ ਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਗਾਤ੍ਰੇਸ਼਼ੁ ਹਸ੍ਤੌ ਦੱਤ੍ਵਾਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼ੰ ਬਭਾਸ਼਼ੇ|
17 As Jesus set out on his journey, a man came running over and kneeled down before Jesus. “Good teacher, what should I do to make sure I have eternal life?” he asked. (aiōnios g166)
ਅਥ ਸ ਵਰ੍ਤ੍ਮਨਾ ਯਾਤਿ, ਏਤਰ੍ਹਿ ਜਨ ਏਕੋ ਧਾਵਨ੍ ਆਗਤ੍ਯ ਤਤ੍ਸੰਮੁਖੇ ਜਾਨੁਨੀ ਪਾਤਯਿਤ੍ਵਾ ਪ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼਼੍ਟਵਾਨ੍, ਭੋਃ ਪਰਮਗੁਰੋ, ਅਨਨ੍ਤਾਯੁਃ ਪ੍ਰਾਪ੍ਤਯੇ ਮਯਾ ਕਿੰ ਕਰ੍ੱਤਵ੍ਯੰ? (aiōnios g166)
18 “Why do you call me good?” Jesus asked him. “No one is good, only God.
ਤਦਾ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਰੁਵਾਚ, ਮਾਂ ਪਰਮੰ ਕੁਤੋ ਵਦਸਿ? ਵਿਨੇਸ਼੍ਵਰੰ ਕੋਪਿ ਪਰਮੋ ਨ ਭਵਤਿ|
19 You know the commandments: you shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, you shall not cheat, honor your father and mother…”
ਪਰਸ੍ਤ੍ਰੀਂ ਨਾਭਿਗੱਛ; ਨਰੰ ਮਾ ਘਾਤਯ; ਸ੍ਤੇਯੰ ਮਾ ਕੁਰੁ; ਮ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼਼ਾਸਾਕ੍ਸ਼਼੍ਯੰ ਮਾ ਦੇਹਿ; ਹਿੰਸਾਞ੍ਚ ਮਾ ਕੁਰੁ; ਪਿਤਰੌ ਸੰਮਨ੍ਯਸ੍ਵ; ਨਿਦੇਸ਼ਾ ਏਤੇ ਤ੍ਵਯਾ ਜ੍ਞਾਤਾਃ|
20 “Teacher,” the man replied, “I've obeyed all these commandments since I was small.”
ਤਤਸ੍ਤਨ ਪ੍ਰਤ੍ਯੁਕ੍ਤੰ, ਹੇ ਗੁਰੋ ਬਾਲ੍ਯਕਾਲਾਦਹੰ ਸਰ੍ੱਵਾਨੇਤਾਨ੍ ਆਚਰਾਮਿ|
21 Jesus looked at him with love and said, “You're only missing one thing. Go and sell everything you own, give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come and follow me.”
ਤਦਾ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਸ੍ਤੰ ਵਿਲੋਕ੍ਯ ਸ੍ਨੇਹੇਨ ਬਭਾਸ਼਼ੇ, ਤਵੈਕਸ੍ਯਾਭਾਵ ਆਸ੍ਤੇ; ਤ੍ਵੰ ਗਤ੍ਵਾ ਸਰ੍ੱਵਸ੍ਵੰ ਵਿਕ੍ਰੀਯ ਦਰਿਦ੍ਰੇਭ੍ਯੋ ਵਿਸ਼੍ਰਾਣਯ, ਤਤਃ ਸ੍ਵਰ੍ਗੇ ਧਨੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪ੍ਸ੍ਯਸਿ; ਤਤਃ ਪਰਮ੍ ਏਤ੍ਯ ਕ੍ਰੁਸ਼ੰ ਵਹਨ੍ ਮਦਨੁਵਰ੍ੱਤੀ ਭਵ|
22 At this, the man's face fell, and he left feeling very sad, for he was very wealthy.
ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਤਸ੍ਯ ਬਹੁਸਮ੍ਪਦ੍ਵਿਦ੍ਯਮਾਨਤ੍ਵਾਤ੍ ਸ ਇਮਾਂ ਕਥਾਮਾਕਰ੍ਣ੍ਯ ਵਿਸ਼਼ਣੋ ਦੁਃਖਿਤਸ਼੍ਚ ਸਨ੍ ਜਗਾਮ|
23 Jesus looked around, and said to his disciples, “It's only with difficulty that wealthy people enter the kingdom of God!”
ਅਥ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਸ਼੍ਚਤੁਰ੍ਦਿਸ਼ੋ ਨਿਰੀਕ੍ਸ਼਼੍ਯ ਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਾਨ੍ ਅਵਾਦੀਤ੍, ਧਨਿਲੋਕਾਨਾਮ੍ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰਰਾਜ੍ਯਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ਃ ਕੀਦ੍ਰੁʼਗ੍ ਦੁਸ਼਼੍ਕਰਃ|
24 The disciples were shocked at this. But Jesus went on, “My friends, it is difficult to enter God's kingdom.
ਤਸ੍ਯ ਕਥਾਤਃ ਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਾਸ਼੍ਚਮੱਚਕ੍ਰੁਃ, ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਸ ਪੁਨਰਵਦਤ੍, ਹੇ ਬਾਲਕਾ ਯੇ ਧਨੇ ਵਿਸ਼੍ਵਸਨ੍ਤਿ ਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਮ੍ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰਰਾਜ੍ਯਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ਃ ਕੀਦ੍ਰੁʼਗ੍ ਦੁਸ਼਼੍ਕਰਃ|
25 It's easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for the rich to enter God's kingdom.”
ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰਰਾਜ੍ਯੇ ਧਨਿਨਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ਾਤ੍ ਸੂਚਿਰਨ੍ਧ੍ਰੇਣ ਮਹਾਙ੍ਗਸ੍ਯ ਗਮਨਾਗਮਨੰ ਸੁਕਰੰ|
26 The disciples were even more confused. “Then who on earth can be saved?” they asked one another.
ਤਦਾ ਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਾ ਅਤੀਵ ਵਿਸ੍ਮਿਤਾਃ ਪਰਸ੍ਪਰੰ ਪ੍ਰੋਚੁਃ, ਤਰ੍ਹਿ ਕਃ ਪਰਿਤ੍ਰਾਣੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪ੍ਤੁੰ ਸ਼ਕ੍ਨੋਤਿ?
27 Looking right at them, Jesus replied, “From a human point of view, it's impossible—but not with God. Everything is possible with God.”
ਤਤੋ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਸ੍ਤਾਨ੍ ਵਿਲੋਕ੍ਯ ਬਭਾਸ਼਼ੇ, ਤਨ੍ ਨਰਸ੍ਯਾਸਾਧ੍ਯੰ ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਨੇਸ਼੍ਵਰਸ੍ਯ, ਯਤੋ ਹੇਤੋਰੀਸ਼੍ਵਰਸ੍ਯ ਸਰ੍ੱਵੰ ਸਾਧ੍ਯਮ੍|
28 Peter spoke up, “We've left everything to follow you…”
ਤਦਾ ਪਿਤਰ ਉਵਾਚ, ਪਸ਼੍ਯ ਵਯੰ ਸਰ੍ੱਵੰ ਪਰਿਤ੍ਯਜ੍ਯ ਭਵਤੋਨੁਗਾਮਿਨੋ ਜਾਤਾਃ|
29 “I tell you the truth,” Jesus replied, “anyone who has left behind their home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands because of me, and for the sake of the good news,
ਤਤੋ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਃ ਪ੍ਰਤ੍ਯਵਦਤ੍, ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਨਹੰ ਯਥਾਰ੍ਥੰ ਵਦਾਮਿ, ਮਦਰ੍ਥੰ ਸੁਸੰਵਾਦਾਰ੍ਥੰ ਵਾ ਯੋ ਜਨਃ ਸਦਨੰ ਭ੍ਰਾਤਰੰ ਭਗਿਨੀਂ ਪਿਤਰੰ ਮਾਤਰੰ ਜਾਯਾਂ ਸਨ੍ਤਾਨਾਨ੍ ਭੂਮਿ ਵਾ ਤ੍ਯਕ੍ਤ੍ਵਾ
31 However, many of the first will be last, and the last first.”
ਕਿਨ੍ਤ੍ਵਗ੍ਰੀਯਾ ਅਨੇਕੇ ਲੋਕਾਃ ਸ਼ੇਸ਼਼ਾਃ, ਸ਼ੇਸ਼਼ੀਯਾ ਅਨੇਕੇ ਲੋਕਾਸ਼੍ਚਾਗ੍ਰਾ ਭਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਨ੍ਤਿ|
32 They continued on their way to Jerusalem, with Jesus walking on ahead. The disciples were apprehensive and the other followers were afraid. So Jesus took the disciples aside and began to explain to them what was about to happen to him.
ਅਥ ਯਿਰੂਸ਼ਾਲਮ੍ਯਾਨਕਾਲੇ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਸ੍ਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਮ੍ ਅਗ੍ਰਗਾਮੀ ਬਭੂਵ, ਤਸ੍ਮਾੱਤੇ ਚਿਤ੍ਰੰ ਜ੍ਞਾਤ੍ਵਾ ਪਸ਼੍ਚਾਦ੍ਗਾਮਿਨੋ ਭੂਤ੍ਵਾ ਬਿਭ੍ਯੁਃ| ਤਦਾ ਸ ਪੁਨ ਰ੍ਦ੍ਵਾਦਸ਼ਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਾਨ੍ ਗ੍ਰੁʼਹੀਤ੍ਵਾ ਸ੍ਵੀਯੰ ਯਦ੍ਯਦ੍ ਘਟਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤੇ ਤੱਤਤ੍ ਤੇਭ੍ਯਃ ਕਥਯਿਤੁੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਰੇਭੇ;
33 “We're going to Jerusalem,” he told them, “and the Son of man will be betrayed to the chief priests and religious teachers. They will condemn him to death and hand him over to the foreigners.
ਪਸ਼੍ਯਤ ਵਯੰ ਯਿਰੂਸ਼ਾਲਮ੍ਪੁਰੰ ਯਾਮਃ, ਤਤ੍ਰ ਮਨੁਸ਼਼੍ਯਪੁਤ੍ਰਃ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨਯਾਜਕਾਨਾਮ੍ ਉਪਾਧ੍ਯਾਯਾਨਾਞ੍ਚ ਕਰੇਸ਼਼ੁ ਸਮਰ੍ਪਯਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤੇ; ਤੇ ਚ ਵਧਦਣ੍ਡਾਜ੍ਞਾਂ ਦਾਪਯਿਤ੍ਵਾ ਪਰਦੇਸ਼ੀਯਾਨਾਂ ਕਰੇਸ਼਼ੁ ਤੰ ਸਮਰ੍ਪਯਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਨ੍ਤਿ|
34 They will mock him, spit on him, flog him, and kill him. But three days later he will rise again.”
ਤੇ ਤਮੁਪਹਸ੍ਯ ਕਸ਼ਯਾ ਪ੍ਰਹ੍ਰੁʼਤ੍ਯ ਤਦ੍ਵਪੁਸ਼਼ਿ ਨਿਸ਼਼੍ਠੀਵੰ ਨਿਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਿਪ੍ਯ ਤੰ ਹਨਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਨ੍ਤਿ, ਤਤਃ ਸ ਤ੍ਰੁʼਤੀਯਦਿਨੇ ਪ੍ਰੋੱਥਾਸ੍ਯਤਿ|
35 James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to see him. “Teacher,” they said, “We want you to do for us whatever we ask you.”
ਤਤਃ ਸਿਵਦੇਃ ਪੁਤ੍ਰੌ ਯਾਕੂਬ੍ਯੋਹਨੌ ਤਦਨ੍ਤਿਕਮ੍ ਏਤ੍ਯ ਪ੍ਰੋਚਤੁਃ, ਹੇ ਗੁਰੋ ਯਦ੍ ਆਵਾਭ੍ਯਾਂ ਯਾਚਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤੇ ਤਦਸ੍ਮਦਰ੍ਥੰ ਭਵਾਨ੍ ਕਰੋਤੁ ਨਿਵੇਦਨਮਿਦਮਾਵਯੋਃ|
36 “So what do you want me to do for you?” Jesus replied.
ਤਤਃ ਸ ਕਥਿਤਵਾਨ੍, ਯੁਵਾਂ ਕਿਮਿੱਛਥਃ? ਕਿੰ ਮਯਾ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਦਰ੍ਥੰ ਕਰਣੀਯੰ?
37 “When you're victorious and sit on your throne, make sure we sit beside you, one on the right, the other on the left,” they told him.
ਤਦਾ ਤੌ ਪ੍ਰੋਚਤੁਃ, ਆਵਯੋਰੇਕੰ ਦਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਿਣਪਾਰ੍ਸ਼੍ਵੇ ਵਾਮਪਾਰ੍ਸ਼੍ਵੇ ਚੈਕੰ ਤਵੈਸ਼੍ਵਰ੍ੱਯਪਦੇ ਸਮੁਪਵੇਸ਼਼੍ਟੁਮ੍ ਆਜ੍ਞਾਪਯ|
38 “You don't know what you're asking,” replied Jesus. “Can you drink the cup I drink? Can you be baptized with the baptism of pain I will suffer?”
ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਃ ਪ੍ਰਤ੍ਯੁਵਾਚ ਯੁਵਾਮਜ੍ਞਾਤ੍ਵੇਦੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਰ੍ਥਯੇਥੇ, ਯੇਨ ਕੰਸੇਨਾਹੰ ਪਾਸ੍ਯਾਮਿ ਤੇਨ ਯੁਵਾਭ੍ਯਾਂ ਕਿੰ ਪਾਤੁੰ ਸ਼ਕ੍ਸ਼਼੍ਯਤੇ? ਯਸ੍ਮਿਨ੍ ਮੱਜਨੇਨਾਹੰ ਮੱਜਿਸ਼਼੍ਯੇ ਤਨ੍ਮੱਜਨੇ ਮੱਜਯਿਤੁੰ ਕਿੰ ਯੁਵਾਭ੍ਯਾਂ ਸ਼ਕ੍ਸ਼਼੍ਯਤੇ? ਤੌ ਪ੍ਰਤ੍ਯੂਚਤੁਃ ਸ਼ਕ੍ਸ਼਼੍ਯਤੇ|
39 “Yes, we can,” they replied. “You will drink the cup I drink, and you will be baptized with the same baptism as me,” Jesus told them.
ਤਦਾ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਰਵਦਤ੍ ਯੇਨ ਕੰਸੇਨਾਹੰ ਪਾਸ੍ਯਾਮਿ ਤੇਨਾਵਸ਼੍ਯੰ ਯੁਵਾਮਪਿ ਪਾਸ੍ਯਥਃ, ਯੇਨ ਮੱਜਨੇਨ ਚਾਹੰ ਮੱਜਿੱਯੇ ਤਤ੍ਰ ਯੁਵਾਮਪਿ ਮੱਜਿਸ਼਼੍ਯੇਥੇ|
40 “But it's not for me to grant who should sit on my right or on my left. These places are reserved for those for whom they have been prepared.”
ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਯੇਸ਼਼ਾਮਰ੍ਥਮ੍ ਇਦੰ ਨਿਰੂਪਿਤੰ, ਤਾਨ੍ ਵਿਹਾਯਾਨ੍ਯੰ ਕਮਪਿ ਮਮ ਦਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਿਣਪਾਰ੍ਸ਼੍ਵੇ ਵਾਮਪਾਰ੍ਸ਼੍ਵੇ ਵਾ ਸਮੁਪਵੇਸ਼ਯਿਤੁੰ ਮਮਾਧਿਕਾਰੋ ਨਾਸ੍ਤਿ|
41 When the other ten disciples heard about this, they started getting upset with James and John.
ਅਥਾਨ੍ਯਦਸ਼ਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਾ ਇਮਾਂ ਕਥਾਂ ਸ਼੍ਰੁਤ੍ਵਾ ਯਾਕੂਬ੍ਯੋਹਨ੍ਭ੍ਯਾਂ ਚੁਕੁਪੁਃ|
42 Jesus called the disciples together and told them, “You realize that those who claim to rule over nations oppress their people. The rulers act like tyrants.
ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਸ੍ਤਾਨ੍ ਸਮਾਹੂਯ ਬਭਾਸ਼਼ੇ, ਅਨ੍ਯਦੇਸ਼ੀਯਾਨਾਂ ਰਾਜਤ੍ਵੰ ਯੇ ਕੁਰ੍ੱਵਨ੍ਤਿ ਤੇ ਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਮੇਵ ਪ੍ਰਭੁਤ੍ਵੰ ਕੁਰ੍ੱਵਨ੍ਤਿ, ਤਥਾ ਯੇ ਮਹਾਲੋਕਾਸ੍ਤੇ ਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਮ੍ ਅਧਿਪਤਿਤ੍ਵੰ ਕੁਰ੍ੱਵਨ੍ਤੀਤਿ ਯੂਯੰ ਜਾਨੀਥ|
43 But for you it's not like this. Anyone of you who wants you to be a ruler must be your servant,
ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਕੰ ਮਧ੍ਯੇ ਨ ਤਥਾ ਭਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤਿ, ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਕੰ ਮਧ੍ਯੇ ਯਃ ਪ੍ਰਾਧਾਨ੍ਯੰ ਵਾਞ੍ਛਤਿ ਸ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਕੰ ਸੇਵਕੋ ਭਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤਿ,
44 and anyone who wants to be first among you must be the slave of all of you.
ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਕੰ ਯੋ ਮਹਾਨ੍ ਭਵਿਤੁਮਿੱਛਤਿ ਸ ਸਰ੍ੱਵੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਕਿਙ੍ਕਰੋ ਭਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤਿ|
45 For even the Son of man did not come to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
ਯਤੋ ਮਨੁਸ਼਼੍ਯਪੁਤ੍ਰਃ ਸੇਵ੍ਯੋ ਭਵਿਤੁੰ ਨਾਗਤਃ ਸੇਵਾਂ ਕਰ੍ੱਤਾਂ ਤਥਾਨੇਕੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਪਰਿਤ੍ਰਾਣਸ੍ਯ ਮੂਲ੍ਯਰੂਪਸ੍ਵਪ੍ਰਾਣੰ ਦਾਤੁਞ੍ਚਾਗਤਃ|
46 Jesus and his disciples passed through Jericho, and as they were leaving town, accompanied by a large crowd, Bartimaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting at the roadside.
ਅਥ ਤੇ ਯਿਰੀਹੋਨਗਰੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪ੍ਤਾਸ੍ਤਸ੍ਮਾਤ੍ ਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਯੈ ਰ੍ਲੋਕੈਸ਼੍ਚ ਸਹ ਯੀਸ਼ੋ ਰ੍ਗਮਨਕਾਲੇ ਟੀਮਯਸ੍ਯ ਪੁਤ੍ਰੋ ਬਰ੍ਟੀਮਯਨਾਮਾ ਅਨ੍ਧਸ੍ਤਨ੍ਮਾਰ੍ਗਪਾਰ੍ਸ਼੍ਵੇ ਭਿਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਾਰ੍ਥਮ੍ ਉਪਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਟਃ|
47 When he heard it was Jesus of Nazareth, he started shouting out, “Jesus, son of David, please have mercy on me!”
ਸ ਨਾਸਰਤੀਯਸ੍ਯ ਯੀਸ਼ੋਰਾਗਮਨਵਾਰ੍ੱਤਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪ੍ਯ ਪ੍ਰੋਚੈ ਰ੍ਵਕ੍ਤੁਮਾਰੇਭੇ, ਹੇ ਯੀਸ਼ੋ ਦਾਯੂਦਃ ਸਨ੍ਤਾਨ ਮਾਂ ਦਯਸ੍ਵ|
48 Lots of people told him to be quiet, but that only made him shout even more, “Jesus, son of David, please have mercy me!”
ਤਤੋਨੇਕੇ ਲੋਕਾ ਮੌਨੀਭਵੇਤਿ ਤੰ ਤਰ੍ਜਯਾਮਾਸੁਃ, ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਸ ਪੁਨਰਧਿਕਮੁੱਚੈ ਰ੍ਜਗਾਦ, ਹੇ ਯੀਸ਼ੋ ਦਾਯੂਦਃ ਸਨ੍ਤਾਨ ਮਾਂ ਦਯਸ੍ਵ|
49 Jesus stopped, and said, “Tell him to come here.” So they called him over, telling him, “Good news! Get up. He's calling for you.”
ਤਦਾ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਃ ਸ੍ਥਿਤ੍ਵਾ ਤਮਾਹ੍ਵਾਤੁੰ ਸਮਾਦਿਦੇਸ਼, ਤਤੋ ਲੋਕਾਸ੍ਤਮਨ੍ਧਮਾਹੂਯ ਬਭਾਸ਼਼ਿਰੇ, ਹੇ ਨਰ, ਸ੍ਥਿਰੋ ਭਵ, ਉੱਤਿਸ਼਼੍ਠ, ਸ ਤ੍ਵਾਮਾਹ੍ਵਯਤਿ|
50 Bartimaeus jumped up, threw off his coat, and rushed over to Jesus.
ਤਦਾ ਸ ਉੱਤਰੀਯਵਸ੍ਤ੍ਰੰ ਨਿਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਿਪ੍ਯ ਪ੍ਰੋੱਥਾਯ ਯੀਸ਼ੋਃ ਸਮੀਪੰ ਗਤਃ|
51 “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him. “Teacher,” he said to Jesus, “I want to see!”
ਤਤੋ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਸ੍ਤਮਵਦਤ੍ ਤ੍ਵਯਾ ਕਿੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਰ੍ਥ੍ਯਤੇ? ਤੁਭ੍ਯਮਹੰ ਕਿੰ ਕਰਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਾਮੀ? ਤਦਾ ਸੋਨ੍ਧਸ੍ਤਮੁਵਾਚ, ਹੇ ਗੁਰੋ ਮਦੀਯਾ ਦ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼਼੍ਟਿਰ੍ਭਵੇਤ੍|
52 “You can go. Your trust in me has healed you.” Immediately Bartimaeus could see and he followed Jesus as he went on his way.
ਤਤੋ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਸ੍ਤਮੁਵਾਚ ਯਾਹਿ ਤਵ ਵਿਸ਼੍ਵਾਸਸ੍ਤ੍ਵਾਂ ਸ੍ਵਸ੍ਥਮਕਾਰ੍ਸ਼਼ੀਤ੍, ਤਸ੍ਮਾਤ੍ ਤਤ੍ਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਣੰ ਸ ਦ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼਼੍ਟਿੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪ੍ਯ ਪਥਾ ਯੀਸ਼ੋਃ ਪਸ਼੍ਚਾਦ੍ ਯਯੌ|
