Hosea 13

1 When Ephraim spoke, they were feared, for they were the leading tribe in Israel. But when they were guilty of Baal worship, they died.

“जब एफ्राइम बोल्‍थ्‍यो, तब त्यहाँ कम्पन हुन्थ्यो । त्यसले आफैंलाई इस्राएलमा उच्‍च पार्‍यो, तर बाल देवताको उपासना गरेको कारणले त्यो दोषी ठहरियो, र त्यो मर्‍यो ।

2 Now they constantly sin, making for themselves idols from molten metal. All of these idols are skillfully made from silver by their craftsmen. “Offer sacrifices to these idols,” say the people. “Kiss the bull calf idols.”

अब तिनीहरू झन् धेरै पाप गर्छन् । आफ्ना चाँदीलाई ढालेर तिनीहरू मूर्तिहरू बनाउँछन्, सकेसम्‍म राम्रो सिपले ती मूर्तिहरू बनाउँछन्, र ती सबै शिल्पकारका काम हुन् । मानिसहरूले तिनीहरूका बारेमा भन्छन्, ‘बलिदान चढाउने यी मानिसहरूले बाछाहरूलाई चुम्बन गर्छन् ।’

3 Consequently they will be like the morning mist, like early morning dew, like chaff blowing away from the threshing floor, like smoke from a chimney.

यसैले तिनीहरू बिहानको बादलझैं, चाँडै नै बिलाइजाने शितझैं, खलाबाट हुरीले टाढा उडाएको भुसझैं, र चिम्नीबाट निस्‍कने धूवाँझैं हुनेछन् ।

4 Yet I am the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt. You shall know no other gods but me. None can save you except me.

तर मिश्रदेशदेखि नै म परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वर हुँ । मबाहेक अर्को कुनै परमेश्‍वर छैन भनी तिमीहरूले स्‍वीकार गर्नुपर्छ । र मबाहेक कुनै अर्को उद्धारकर्ता छैन भनी तिमीहरूले स्‍वीकार गर्नुपर्छ ।

5 I looked after you in the wilderness; in that dry desert land it was like pasture to them

उजाड-स्‍थानमा, अति सुक्‍खा भूमिमा नै, मैले तिमीहरूलाई चिनें ।

6 and they were satisfied. But when they were satisfied they became arrogant, and they forgot me.

जब तिमीहरूले खर्कमा खायौ, तब तिमीहरू भरपेट भयौ, र जब तिमीहरूको पेट भरियो, तब तिमीहरूका हृदयमा घमण्ड पलायो । त्यही कारणले तिमीहरूले मलाई भुल्यौ ।

7 So I will be like a lion to them, like a leopard I will lie in wait beside the path.

तिनीहरूका निम्ति म एउटा सिंहझैं हुनेछु, र चितुवाझैं म तिनीहरूको बाटोभरि ढुक्‍नेछु ।

8 I will be like a mother bear whose cubs have been taken, I will rip out their hearts. I shall devour them like a lion, like a wild beast I will tear them apart.

छाउराहरू खोसिएको माउ भालूले झैं म तिनीहरूलाई आक्रमण गर्नेछु । तिनीहरूका छातीहरूलाई म च्यात्‍नेछु, र त्यहाँ म तिनीहरूलाई सिंहले झैं निल्‍नेछु जसरी जङ्गली पशुले तिनीहरूलाई टुक्रा-टुक्रा पार्छ ।

9 You have destroyed yourselves, Israel, for your only help is in me.

ए इस्राएल, म तँलाई नष्‍ट गर्नेछु । कसले तँलाई सहायता गर्नेछ?

10 Where then is your king? Let him save you in all your cities! Where are your leaders who demanded a king and princes from me?

तेरो राजा कहाँ छ, जसले तँलाई सबै सहरहरूमा बचाउन सक्‍ला? तेरा शासकहरू कहाँ छन्, जसको विषयमा तैंले मलाई भनिस्, ‘मलाई एउटा राजा र राजकुमारहरू दिनुहोस्’?

11 In my anger I give you a king, and in my fury I take one.

मैले आफ्‍नो क्रोधमा तँलाई एउटा राजा दिएँ, र मेरो क्रोधमा त्यसलाई मैले हटाएँ ।

12 Ephraim's guilt is packed up; their sin will be eradicated.

एफ्राइमको अपराध थुप्रिएको छ । त्यसको पाप थुप्रिएको छ ।

13 The pain of childbirth has come to them, trying to give birth to a son who is not “wise” because he is not in the right position when the time comes.

प्रसवको पीडा त्यसमाथि आउनेछ, तर त्यो एउटा मूर्ख छोरा हो, किनकि जन्मने समय हुँदा पनि त्यो कोखबाट बाहिर आउँदैन ।

14 I shall redeem them from the power of Sheol; I shall deliver them from death. Where, death, are your plagues? Where, Sheol, is your destruction? Compassion is hidden from my sight. (Sheol h7585)

के म तिनीहरूलाई चिहानको शक्तिदेखि बचाउनेछु र? के म तिनीहरूलाई मृत्‍युबाट बचाउनेछु र? ए मृत्‍यु, तेरा विपत्तिहरू कहाँ छन्? ए चिहान, तेरो विनाश कहाँ छ? मेरा आँखाबाट दया लुकेको छ ।” (Sheol h7585)

15 Even though they flourish among the reeds, an east wind will come, a wind from the Lord that rises in the desert will dry up their springs and their wells will fail. It will rob from their treasury everything of value.

एफ्राइम आफ्ना दाजुभाइका बिचमा समृद्ध भए पनि, पूर्वीय बतास आउनेछ, परमप्रभुको बतास उजाड-स्‍थानबाट बहनेछ । एफ्राइमको मुहान सुक्‍नेछ, र त्यसको इनारमा पानी हुनेछैन । त्यसका हरेक बहुमुल्य थोकको भण्डारलाई त्यसको शत्रुले लुट्‍नेछ ।

16 Samaria will have to bear the consequences of their guilt, because they rebelled against her God. They will be slaughtered by the sword; their children will be dashed to the ground; their pregnant women will be ripped open.

सामरिया दोषी ठहरिनेछ, किनकि त्यसले आफ्नो परमेश्‍वरको विरुद्धमा विद्रोह गरेको छ । तिनीहरू तरवारद्वारा मारिनेछन्, र तिनीहरूका जवान छोराछोरीलाई पछारेर टुक्रा-टुक्रा पारिनेछ, र तिनीहरूका गर्भवती स्‍त्रीहरूका पेट चिरिनेछन् ।
