Galatians 1
1 This letter comes from Paul, an apostle not appointed by any human organization or human authority. Quite the contrary: I was appointed by Jesus Christ and God the Father who raised Jesus from the dead.
Paulus, Apostel, nicht von Menschen, noch durch einen Menschen, sondern durch Jesus Christus und Gott Vater, Der Ihn von den Toten auferweckt hat,
2 All the brothers and sisters here with me join in sending this letter to the churches in Galatia.
Und alle Brüder, die bei mir sind, an die Gemeinden in Galatien.
3 May the grace and peace of God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ be with you!
Gnade euch und Friede von Gott dem Vater und unserem Herrn Jesus Christus,
4 Jesus gave himself for our sins to set us free from this current world of evil, following the will of our God and Father. (aiōn g165)
Der Sich für unsere Sünden hingegeben hat, auf daß Er uns erlöse von der gegenwärtigen argen Welt nach dem Willen Gottes und unseres Vaters, (aiōn g165)
Welchem sei Ehre in alle Ewigkeit! Amen. (aiōn g165)
6 I'm shocked at how quickly you're abandoning the God who by the grace of Christ called you. You are turning to a different kind of good news
Mich wundert, daß ihr euch von dem, der euch zu Christus Gnade berufen hat, so bald habt abwenden lassen zu einem anderen Evangelium.
7 that isn't good news at all! Some people there are confusing you, wanting to pervert the good news of Christ.
So es doch kein anderes gibt und nur etliche da sind, die euch verwirren und das Evangelium von Christus verkehren wollen.
8 But if anyone, even we ourselves, or even an angel from heaven, should promote any other kind of good news than what we have already told you, let them be condemned!
Aber wenn auch wir oder ein Engel vom Himmel euch ein anderes Evangelium verkündigte, als wir euch verkündigt haben, der sei verflucht.
9 I repeat what we've told you before: if anyone promotes any other kind of good news than what you've already accepted, let them be condemned!
Wie ich schon gesagt, sage ich euch abermals: Wenn euch einer ein anderes Evan- gelium predigt, als ihr empfangen habt, der sei verflucht.
10 Whose approval do you think I want—that of people, or of God? Do you think I'm trying to please people? If I wanted to please people I wouldn't be a servant of Christ!
Rede ich jetzt Menschen oder Gott zu Dienst, oder suche ich Menschen zu gefallen? Wenn ich Menschen gefallen wollte, so wäre ich Christus Knecht nicht.
11 Let me make it clear, my friends, regarding the good news I'm declaring—it did not come from any human being.
Ich tue euch aber kund, Brüder, daß das Evangelium, das von mir gepredigt worden, nicht menschlicher Art ist.
12 I didn't receive it from anyone, and nobody taught it to me—it was Jesus Christ who revealed it to me.
Denn ich habe es auch nicht von einem Menschen empfangen, noch erlernt, sondern durch die Offenbarung von Jesus Christus.
13 You heard how I behaved as a follower of the Jewish religion—how I fanatically persecuted God's church, savagely trying to destroy it.
Denn ihr habt ja wohl von meinem Wandel im Judentum gehört, daß ich die Gemeinde von Christus über die Maßen verfolgte und zu zerstören suchte;
14 I surpassed my contemporaries in the practice of the Jewish religion because I was so fervently devoted to the traditions of my ancestors.
Und es im Judentum vielen meines Alters in meinem Volke zuvor tat und ein heftigerer Eiferer für meine väterlichen Überlieferungen ward.
15 But when God (who had set me apart from birth) called me through his grace, and was pleased
Als es aber Gott wohlgefiel, Der mich von Mutterleibe an ausersehen und durch Seine Gnade berufen hat,
16 to reveal his Son to me so that I could announce the good news to the nations, I didn't discuss this with anyone.
Seinen Sohn in mir zu offenbaren, daß ich Ihn unter den Heiden verkündigen sollte; so ging ich schnurstracks, ohne mit Fleisch und Blut zu Rate zu gehen,
17 I didn't go to Jerusalem to talk to those who preceded me as apostles; instead I left for Arabia, and then later returned to Damascus.
Oder mich nach Jerusalem an die zu wenden, die vor mir Apostel waren, sondern begab mich nach Arabien und kehrte von da wieder gen Damaskus.
18 After three years I went to Jerusalem to visit Peter. I stayed with him for two weeks.
Dann nach drei Jahren zog ich hinauf nach Jerusalem, um Petrus kennenzulernen, und blieb bei ihm fünfzehn Tage.
19 I didn't see any other apostles except James, the Lord's brother.
Einen anderen Apostel bekam ich nicht zu Gesicht außer Jakobus, den Bruder des Herrn.
20 (Let me assure you before God that I'm not lying about what I'm writing to you!)
Was ich euch aber schreibe, siehe, bei Gott, ich lüge nicht.
21 Then I went to Syria and Cilicia.
Danach kam ich in die Gegenden von Syrien und Cilicien.
22 Even so, my face wasn't known to those in the churches of Judea.
Ich war aber den christlichen Gemeinden in Judäa persönlich unbekannt.
23 They had only heard people say, “The man who used to persecute us is now spreading the faith he once tried to destroy!”
Sie hatten nur von mir gehört: Der früher uns verfolgte, predigt jetzt den Glauben, den er weiland verstörte.
24 —and they praised God because of me.
Und sie priesen Gott über mir.
