Ezekiel 37
1 The Lord picked me up and carried me away by his Spirit. He set me down in the middle of a valley that was full of bones.
La main de l'Eternel fut sur moi, et l'Eternel me fit sortir en esprit, et me posa au milieu d'une campagne qui était pleine d'os.
2 He led me around them, and in all directions I saw many, many bones on the valley floor. They were really dry.
Et il me fit passer auprès d'eux tout à l'environ, et voici, ils étaient en fort grand nombre sur le dessus de cette campagne, et étaient fort secs.
3 Then he asked me, “Son of man, can these bones come back to life?” “Lord God, only you know the answer,” I replied.
Puis il me dit: fils d'homme, ces os pourraient-ils bien revivre? Et je répondis: Seigneur Eternel, tu le sais.
4 He told me, “Prophesy to these bones and tell them, Dry bones, listen to this message from the Lord!
Alors il me dit: prophétise sur ces os, et leur dis: os secs, écoutez la parole de l'Eternel.
5 This is what the Lord God says to these bones: I will breathe into you, and you will come back to life.
Ainsi a dit le Seigneur l'Eternel à ces os: voici, je m'en vais faire entrer l'esprit en vous, et vous revivrez.
6 I will give you tendons and have flesh grow over you and cover you with skin. I will breathe into you so that you will come back to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.”
Et je mettrai des nerfs sur vous, et je ferai croître de la chair sur vous, et j'étendrai la peau sur vous; puis je remettrai l'esprit en vous, et vous revivrez; et vous saurez que je suis l'Eternel.
7 So I prophesied just as I had been ordered. When I started prophesying, suddenly I heard a rattling noise. The bones joined together, bone attached to bone.
Alors je prophétisai selon qu'il m'avait été commandé, et sitôt que j'eus prophétisé il se fit un son, et voici, il se fit un mouvement, et ces os s'approchèrent l'un de l'autre.
8 As I watched, I saw tendons and flesh grow on them, and skin covered them; but the bodies didn't breathe.
Puis je regardai, et voici, il vint des nerfs sur eux, et il y crût de la chair, et la peau y fut étendue par dessus; mais l'esprit n'y était point.
9 Then he told me, “Prophesy to the breath! Prophesy, son of man, and tell the breath that this is what the Lord God says: Breath, come from the four winds, and breathe into these bodies, so that they can come back to life!”
Alors il me dit: prophétise à l'esprit, prophétise, fils d'homme, et dis à l'esprit: ainsi a dit le Seigneur l'Eternel: esprit, viens des quatre vents, et souffle sur ces morts, et qu'ils revivent.
10 So I prophesied just as he had ordered me, and the breath went into the bodies, and they came back to life and stood up, a huge army!
Je prophétisai donc comme il m'avait commandé, et l'esprit entra en eux, et ils revécurent, et se tinrent sur leurs pieds; et ce fut une armée extrêmement grande.
11 He told me, “Son of man, these bones represent all the people of Israel. Listen to what the people are saying, ‘Our bones have dried up, and our hope has been crushed. We have been wiped out!’
Alors il me dit: fils d'homme, ces os sont toute la maison d'Israël; voici, ils disent: nos os sont devenus secs, et notre attente est perdue, c'en est fait de nous.
12 So prophesy and tell them that this is what the Lord God says: My people, I'm going to open your graves and lift you out of them, and I will take you back to the country of Israel.
C'est pourquoi prophétise, et leur dis: ainsi a dit le Seigneur l'Eternel: mon peuple, voici, je m'en vais ouvrir vos sépulcres, et je vous tirerai hors de vos sépulcres, et vous ferai rentrer en la terre d'Israël.
13 Then you will know that I am the Lord, when I open your graves and lift you out of them, my people.
Et vous, mon peuple, vous saurez que je suis l'Eternel quand j'aurai ouvert vos sépulcres, et que je vous aurai tirés hors de vos sépulcres.
14 I will put my Spirit in you and you will live again, and I will take you back to your own country. Then you will know that I, the Lord, have spoken, and I will carry it out, declares the Lord.”
Et je mettrai mon esprit en vous, et vous revivrez, et je vous placerai sur votre terre; et vous saurez que moi l'Eternel j'aurai parlé, et que je l'aurai fait, dit l'Eternel.
15 Another message from the Lord came to me, saying,
Puis la parole de l'Eternel me fut [adressée], en disant:
16 “Son of man, get one piece of wood and write on it: ‘This belongs to Judah and the Israelite tribes allied to them.’ Then get another piece of wood and write on it: ‘This belongs to Joseph. This is Ephraim's piece of wood, and to the Israelite tribes allied to them.’
Et toi, fils d'homme, prends un bois, et écris dessus: pour Juda, et pour les enfants d'Israël ses compagnons; prends encore un autre bois, et écris dessus: le bois d'Ephraïm et de toute la maison d'Israël ses compagnons, pour Joseph.
17 Then join the two pieces of wood into one, so that you hold them as one in your hand.
Puis tu les joindras l'un à l'autre pour ne former qu'un même bois, et ils seront unis dans ta main.
18 When your people come and ask you, ‘Are you going to explain what this is all about?’
Et quand les enfants de ton peuple demanderont, en disant: ne nous déclareras-tu pas ce que tu veux dire par ces choses?
19 tell them that this is what the Lord God says: I'm going to take Joseph's piece of wood, which Ephraim is holding, along with the Israelite tribes allied with them, and I'll join them with Judah's piece of wood. I will make them into a single piece of wood, and they will be as one in my hand.
Dis-leur: ainsi a dit le Seigneur l'Eternel: voici, je m'en vais prendre le bois de Joseph qui est en la main d'Ephraïm, et des Tribus d'Israël ses compagnons, et je les mettrai sur celui-ci, savoir sur le bois de Juda; et je les ferai être un seul bois; et ils ne seront qu'un seul bois en ma main.
20 When you're holding the pieces of wood you've written on, and while everyone is watching,
Ainsi les bois sur lesquels tu auras écrit seront en ta main, eux le voyant.
21 tell them that this is what the Lord God says: I'm going to bring the Israelites back from the nations where they've gone. I will gather them from everywhere and take them back to their own country.
Et dis-leur: ainsi a dit le Seigneur l'Eternel: voici, je m'en vais prendre les enfants d'Israël d'entre les nations parmi lesquelles ils sont allés, je les rassemblerai de toutes parts, et je les ferai rentrer en leur terre.
22 I will make them one nation in the country, living in the mountains of Israel, and one king will rule them all. They won't be two nations any longer; never again will they be divided into two kingdoms.
Et je ferai qu'ils seront une seule nation dans le pays, sur les montagnes d'Israël; ils n'auront tous qu'un Roi pour leur Roi, ils ne seront plus deux nations, et ils ne seront plus divisés en deux Royaumes.
23 They won't make themselves unclean anymore with their idols or disgusting images, or with any of their rebellious sins. I will save them from all their sins when they abandoned me, and I will make them clean. They will be my people, and I will be their God.
Et ils ne se souilleront plus par leurs idoles, ni par leurs infamies, ni par tous leurs crimes, et je les retirerai de toutes leurs demeures dans lesquelles ils ont péché, et je les purifierai; et ils seront mon peuple, et je serai leur Dieu.
24 My servant David will be their king. They will be united under one ruler. They will follow my laws, and they will observe and practice my regulations.
Et David mon serviteur sera leur Roi, et ils auront tous un seul Pasteur; et ils marcheront dans mes ordonnances, ils garderont mes statuts, et les feront.
25 They will live in the country I gave to my servant Jacob where your forefathers lived. They will live there with their children and grandchildren forever, and my servant David will be their prince forever.
Et ils habiteront au pays que j'ai donné à Jacob mon serviteur, dans lequel vos pères ont habité; ils y habiteront, dis-je, eux, et leurs enfants, et les enfants de leurs enfants, à toujours; et David mon serviteur sera leur Prince à toujours.
26 I will make an agreement of peace with them. This will be an everlasting agreement. I will make them secure and increase their numbers, and I will keep my sanctuary there with them forever.
Et je traiterai avec eux une alliance de paix, et il y aura une alliance éternelle avec eux, et je les établirai, et les multiplierai, je mettrai mon Sanctuaire au milieu d'eux à toujours.
27 My Tabernacle will be with them. I will be their God, and they will be my people.
Et mon pavillon sera parmi eux; et je serai leur Dieu, et ils seront mon peuple.
28 The nations will acknowledge that I am the Lord who blesses Israel, when my sanctuary is with them forever.”
Et les nations sauront que je suis l'Eternel qui sanctifie Israël, quand mon Sanctuaire sera au milieu d'eux à toujours.
