< Ezekiel 34 >

1 A message from the Lord came to me, saying,
2 “Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds who lead Israel. Prophesy and tell them that this is what the Lord God says: Disaster is coming to the shepherds of Israel, who only look after themselves, and not the sheep! Shouldn't shepherds make sure their flock is fed?
“Foha ʻoe tangata, kikite ki he kau tauhi ʻo ʻIsileli, kikite, pea ke pehē kiate kinautolu, ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua, ki he ngaahi tauhi; Malaʻia ki he kau tauhi ʻo ʻIsileli, ʻoku nau fafanga pe ʻakinautolu! ʻIkai ʻoku totonu ke fafanga ʻe he tauhi ʻa ʻene fanga sipi?
3 You eat the cream, you use the wool for clothes, and you slaughter the fattened sheep, but you don't feed the flock.
‌ʻOku kai ʻekimoutolu ʻae ngako, pea ʻoku mou kofuʻaki ʻae fulufuluʻi sipi, ʻoku mou tāmateʻi ia ʻaia ʻoku sino, ka ʻoku ʻikai te mou fafanga ʻae fanga sipi.
4 You haven't taken care of the weak, healed the sick, bandaged the injured, brought home the strays, or looked for the lost. On the contrary, you ruled them using violence and cruelty.
5 They were scattered because they didn't have a shepherd. When they scattered they were preyed on by all the wild animals for food.
Pea naʻe fakahēʻi ʻakinautolu, koeʻuhi ʻi he ʻikai ha tauhi: pea naʻa nau hoko ko e meʻakai ki he fanga manu fekai kotoa pē ʻoe vao, ʻi heʻenau movetevete.
6 My sheep strayed, going to all the mountains and high hills. They were scattered everywhere, and there was no one to go and look for them.
Naʻe ʻalu hēhē pe ʻa ʻeku fanga sipi ʻi he ngaahi moʻunga kotoa pē, pea ʻi he ngaahi potu māʻolunga kotoa pē: ʻio, naʻe fakahēʻi ʻeku fanga sipi ki he funga ʻo māmani kotoa pē, pea naʻe ʻikai hakule pe kumi ki ai ha taha.
7 So, you shepherds, listen to what the Lord has to say:
“Ko ia, ʻE kau tauhi, fanongo ki he folofola ʻa Sihova.
8 As I live, declares the Lord God, because my sheep didn't have a shepherd and were preyed on by all the wild animals for food, and because my shepherds didn't look after my sheep but instead only fed themselves,
‌ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua, ko au ʻoku ou moʻui, pea ko e moʻoni, koeʻuhi kuo hoko ʻa ʻeku fanga sipi ko e fakamālohia, pea kuo hoko ia ko e meʻakai ki he fanga manu kotoa pē ʻoe vao, koeʻuhi naʻe ʻikai ha tauhi, pea naʻe ʻikai kumi ʻe heʻeku kau tauhi ki heʻeku fanga sipi, pea naʻe kai pe ʻe heʻeku kau tauhi, ka naʻe ʻikai te nau fafanga ʻa ʻeku fanga sipi;
9 so, you shepherds, you listen to what the Lord has to say!
Ko ia, ʻakimoutolu ʻae kau tauhi, fanongo ki he folofola ʻa Sihova;
10 This is what the Lord God says: Watch out, because I'm condemning the shepherds, and I will take my sheep back and stop them looking after the sheep so they won't be able to feed themselves anymore. I will take away my sheep from them, and I won't let them eat the sheep anymore.
‌ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua; Vakai, ʻoku ou tuʻu au ki he kau tauhi pea te u ʻeke ʻa ʻeku fanga sipi mei honau nima pea te u fekau ke tuku ʻenau fafanga ʻae fanga sipi: pea ʻe ʻikai toe kai ʻe he kau tauhi ʻiate kinautolu; he te u fakamoʻui ʻeku fanga sipi mei honau ngutu, ke ʻoua naʻa nau kei meʻakai ʻaki ʻakinautolu.
11 For this is what the Lord God says: Watch as I myself will go looking for my sheep, searching to find them.
“He ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua; Vakai ko au, ʻio, ko au, te u hakule ʻa ʻeku fanga sipi, mo kumi ki ai.
12 Just like a shepherd goes looking for his lost sheep when he is with the flock, so I will look for my sheep. I will rescue them from everywhere they were scattered on a dark and dismal day.
‌ʻO hangē ko e kumi ʻe he tauhi ʻa ʻene fanga sipi, ʻi he ʻaho ʻoku ne ʻalu atu ai ki he fanga sipi kuo movetevete; ʻe pehē ʻa ʻeku kumi mai ʻa ʻeku fanga sipi, mo ʻeku fakamoʻui ʻakinautolu mei he potu kotoa pē kuo nau hē ki ai ʻi he ʻaho ʻalotāmaki mo fakapoʻupoʻuli.
13 I will take them out from among the other nations. I will gather them from the different countries, and bring them back to their own country. Like a shepherd I will have them feed them on the mountains of Israel, in the valleys and everywhere that people live in the country.
Pea te u ʻomi ʻakinautolu mei he kakai, mo tānaki ʻakinautolu mei he ngaahi fonua, pea ʻe ʻomi ʻakinautolu ki honau fonua ʻonautolu, pea ʻe fafanga ʻakinautolu ʻi he ngaahi moʻunga ʻo ʻIsileli ʻi he veʻe vaitafe, pea mo e ngaahi potu kakai ʻoe fonua.
14 I will provide them with good pasture and places to graze in the high mountains of Israel. They will also be able to rest there in the good pasture and in the places to graze in mountains of Israel.
Te u fafanga ʻakinautolu ʻi he potu lau maʻuiʻui, pea ʻe ʻi he ngaahi moʻunga māʻolunga ʻo ʻIsileli ʻa honau lotoʻā: te nau tokoto ai ʻi he lotoʻā lelei, pea te nau kai ʻi he potu lau maʻuiʻui ʻi he ngaahi moʻunga ʻo ʻIsileli.
15 I myself will look after my sheep and give them a place to rest, declares the Lord God.
16 I will go looking for the lost, bring home the strays, bandage the injured, and strengthen the weak. However, I will destroy those who are fat and strong. Because I do what's right, I will be sure to take care of them.
17 My flock, this is what the Lord God says to you: Watch, because I will judge between one sheep and the next, between the rams and the goats.
Pea koeʻuhi ko kimoutolu, ʻa ʻeku fanga sipi, ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua; Vakai te u fili vakavakai ki he manu mo e manu, ki he fanga sipitangata, mo e fanga kosi tangata.
18 Aren't you satisfied with feeding in good pasture? Do you have to trample down the rest of the pasture with your feet? Aren't you satisfied to drink the clear water? Do you have to muddy the rest of it with your feet?
Ko e meʻa siʻi koā ia kiate kimoutolu ke mou kai ke ʻosi ʻae potu lau maʻuiʻui, pea mou toe malaki hifo ai ʻi homou lalo vaʻe ʻa hono toe ʻoe potu ʻoku fafanga ai kimoutolu? Pea kuo mou inu mei he ngaahi vai loloto, ka ko hono toe kuo mou fakaʻuliʻi ʻaki homou vaʻe?
19 Why does my flock have to feed on what your feet have trampled down, and drink the water that your feet have muddied?
Pea ko ʻeku fanga sipi, ʻoku kai ʻekinautolu mei he meʻa kuo mou malaki ʻaki homou vaʻe; pea ʻoku nau inu mei he meʻa kuo fakaʻuliʻi ʻaki homou vaʻe.
20 That's why the Lord God says to them: Watch, because I myself will judge between the fat sheep and the skinny sheep.
“Ko ia ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua kiate kinautolu; Vakai, ko au, ʻio, ko au, te u fili vakavakai ki he manu ʻoku sino mo e manu ʻoku tutue.
21 Since you push others around with your sides and your shoulders, and use your horns to attack all the weak ones until you have chased them away,
Koeʻuhi kuo mou fetuotuai pea kuo mou feteketekeʻi ʻae kau vaivai ʻaki homou nifo pea ko ia kuo nau hē ai ke mamaʻo;
22 I will rescue my flock, and they will no longer be your victims. I will judge between one sheep and the next.
23 I will put one shepherd in charge of them, my servant David, and he will take care of them. He will take care of them and be their shepherd.
24 I the Lord will be their God, and my servant David will be their leader. I the Lord have spoken.
Pea ko au Sihova, te u hoko ko honau ʻOtua; pea ko ʻeku tamaioʻeiki ko Tevita ko e ʻeiki ʻiate kinautolu; ko au Sihova, kuo u lea ki ai.
25 I will make an agreement of peace with them, and get rid of the wild animals from the country, so that they can live safely in the wilderness and sleep securely in the forest.
Pea te nau fai mo au ʻae fuakava ke melino, pea te u fakaʻosi ʻae fanga manu fekai mei he fonua; pea te nau nofo lelei pe ʻi he toafa, pea nau mohe ʻi he ngaahi vao.
26 I will bless them and everywhere around my hill. I will send rain at the right time. They will be showers of blessing.
Pea te u ngaohi ʻakinautolu pea mo e ngaahi potu ʻoku tuʻu takatakai ʻi hoku moʻunga, ko e monūʻiaʻanga; pea te u fakatō hifo ʻae ʻuha ʻi hono ʻaho totonu; ʻe ai ʻae ʻuha lolo ʻoe tāpuaki.
27 The trees in the orchards will produce their fruit; the earth will grow its crops; and my flock will be live in safety in their country. Then they will know that I am the Lord, when I break their yokes of slavery, and set them free from those who made them slaves.
Pea ʻe tupu mei he ʻakau ʻoe ngoue ʻa hono fua, pea ʻe tuku mai ʻe he kelekele ʻa hono tupu, pea te nau malu pe ʻi honau fonua, mo nau ʻilo ko au ko Sihova, ʻo kau ka motuhi ʻae nonoʻo ʻo honau haʻamonga, mo fakamoʻui ʻakinautolu mei he nima ʻonautolu naʻe fakamālohia ʻakinautolu.
28 They won't be the victims of other nations anymore, and wild animals won't eat them. They will live in safety, and no one will terrorize them.
Pea ʻe ʻikai toe tulia ʻakinautolu ʻe he hiteni, pea ʻe ʻikai toe keina ʻakinautolu ʻe he fanga manu ʻoe fonua; ka ʻe malu pe ʻenau nofo, pea ʻe ʻikai ha taha te ne faʻa fakamanaʻi ʻakinautolu.
29 I will make their fields produce remarkable harvests, and they won't suffer famine in their country again or be mocked by others.
Pea te u fakatupu maʻanautolu ʻae ʻakau ke ongoongolelei, pea ʻe ʻikai te nau toe mate fiekaia ʻi he fonua, pea ʻe ʻikai te nau toe fua ʻae mā ʻoe hiteni ʻo taʻengata.
30 Then they will know that I am with them as the Lord their God, and that the people of Israel belong to me, declares the Lord God.
‌ʻE pehē ʻa ʻenau ʻilo ko au ko Sihova ko honau ʻOtua, ʻoku ou ʻiate kinautolu; pea ko kinautolu, ʻio, ʻae fale ʻo ʻIsileli, ko hoku kakai ʻakinautolu, ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua.
31 You are my sheep, the sheep that I feed. You are my people, and I am your God, declares the Lord God.”
“Pea ko kimoutolu ʻa ʻeku fanga sipi, ʻae fanga sipi ʻoku ou tauhi, ko e kau tangata ʻakimoutolu, pea ko homou ʻOtua au,” ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua.
