< Exodus 31 >

1 The Lord told Moses,
Then spake Yahweh unto Moses, saying:
2 “I have chosen by name Bezalel, son of Uri, son of Hur, from the tribe of Judah.
See, I have called by name, Bezaleel, son of Uri, son of Hur of the tribe of Judah;
3 I have filled him with the Spirit of God giving him ability, creativity, and expertise in all kinds of craftsmanship.
and have filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom and in understanding, and in knowledge and in all manner of workmanship;
4 He can produce designs in gold, silver, and bronze,
to devise skilful designs, to work in gold and in silver, and in bronze;
5 he can cut gemstones to place in settings, and he can carve wood. He is a master of every craft.
and in the cutting of stones for setting, and in the carving of wood, —to work in all manner of workmanship,
6 I have also chosen Oholiab, son of Ahisamach, from the tribe of Dan, to help him. I have also given all the craftsmen the skills needed to make everything that I have ordered you to make:
I myself, therefore, lo! I have given with him Oholiab, son of Ahisamach of the tribe of Dan, and in the heart of every one that is wise-hearted, have I put wisdom, —so shall they make all that I have commanded thee—
7 the Tent of Meeting, the Ark of the Testimony and its atonement cover, and all the other furniture in the Tent:
the tent of meeting, and the ark of the testimony; and the propitiatory which is thereupon, and all the utensils of the tent;
8 the table with its equipment, the pure gold lampstand with all its equipment, the altar of incense,
and the table, and its utensils, and the pure lampstand, and all its utensils, —and the incense altar;
9 the altar of burnt offering with all its utensils, and the basin plus its stand;
and the altar for the ascending-sacrifice, and all its utensils, and the laver, and its stand;
10 as well as the woven clothes for both Aaron the priest and for his sons to serve as priests,
and the cloths of variegated stuff, and the holy garments, for Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons, for ministering as priests;
11 as well as anointing oil and fragrant incense for the Holy Place. They are to make them following all the instructions I have given you.”
and the anointing oil and the fragrant incense for the holy place, according to all which I have commanded thee, shall they do.
12 The Lord told Moses,
Then spake Yahweh unto Moses saying—
13 “Tell the Israelites, ‘It's absolutely essential that you keep my Sabbaths. The Sabbath will be a sign between me and you for generations to come, so that you'll know that I am the Lord who makes you holy.
Thou thyself, therefore, speak unto the sons of Israel, saying, Surely, my sabbaths, shall ye keep, for, a sign it is betwixt me and you to your generations, that ye may know that I Yahweh do hallow you.
14 You shall keep the Sabbath because it is holy to you. Anyone who dishonors it must be killed. Anyone who works on that day must be cut off from their people.
Therefore shall ye keep the sabbath, for holy, it is unto you, he that profaneth it shall be surely put to death; verily whosoever doeth therein any work that soul shall be cut off from the midst of its people:
15 Six days you can work, but the seventh day is to be a Sabbath of rest, holy to the Lord. Anyone who does any work on the Sabbath day must be killed.
Six days, shall work be done, but on the seventh day, is a holy sabbath-keeping of rest unto Yahweh, —whosoever doeth work on the sabbath day, shall be, surely put to death.
16 The Israelites must keep the Sabbath, observing the Sabbath as an everlasting agreement for generations to come.
Therefore shall the sons of Israel keep the sabbath, —by making it a Day of Rest to your generations, as an age-abiding covenant:
17 It's a sign between me and the Israelites forever, for the Lord made the heavens and the earth in six days, but on the seventh day he stopped and he rested.’”
between me and the sons of Israel, a sign it is unto times age-abiding, —for in six days, did Yahweh make the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day, he rested, and was refreshed.
18 When the Lord finished speaking with Moses on Mount Sinai, he gave him the two tablets of the Testimony, stone tablets written on by the finger of God.
Then gave he unto Moses, as he finished speaking with him in Mount Sinai, the two tables of the testimony, —tables of stone, written with the finger of God,
