Deuteronomy 1
1 This is the record of what Moses told all the Israelites during their time in the desert to the east of the Jordan. They were in the Arabah near Suph, between Paran on the one side and Tophel, Laban, Hazeroth, and Di-zahab on the other.
၁တောကြီးလွင်ပြင်၊ ယော်ဒန်မြစ်နား၊ သုဖမြို့ တဘက်၊ ပါရန်မြို့၊ တောဖလမြို့၊ လာဗန်မြို့၊ ဟာဇရုတ် မြို့၊ ဒိဇဟတ်မြို့တို့အလယ်၌ မောရှေသည် ဣသရေလ အမျိုးသားတို့အား ဟောပြောသောစကားများကို ပြန်ရ လေသည်မှာ၊
2 (It takes eleven days to go from Horeb to Kadesh-barnea by the road that passes Mount Seir.)
၂ကာဒေရှဗာနာ အရပ်သည်၊ စိရတောင်လမ်း ဖြင့် ဟောရပ်အရပ်နှင့် ဆယ်တရက်ခရီး ကွာသတည်း။
3 On the first day of the eleventh month of the fortieth year, Moses recounted to the Israelites everything that the Lord had instructed him to tell them.
၃မောရှေသည် ဟေရှဘုန်မြို့၌နေသော အာမော ရိရှင်ဘုရင် ရှိဟုန်ကို၎င်း၊
4 This happened after he defeated Sihon king of the Amorites, who ruled in Heshbon, and then at Edrei after he defeated Og king of Bashan, who ruled in Ashtaroth.
၄ဧဒြိပြည်၊ အာရှတရုတ်မြို့ ၌နေသော ဗာရှန်ဘုရင် ဩဃကို၎င်း လုပ်ကြံပြီးမှ၊ သက္ကရာဇ် လေးဆယ်ပြည့်၊ ဧကာသမလ၊
5 Speaking on the east side of the Jordan in the land of Moab, Moses began to explain these instructions, saying:
၅ပဌမနေ့ရက်၌ မောဘပြည်၊ ယော်ဒန် မြစ်နားမှာ ထာဝရဘုရား မှာထားသော် မူနှင့်သမျှ အတိုင်း၊ ဣသရေလအမျိုးသား တို့အား ဆင့်ဆို၍ ဟောပြောသော တရားစကားဟူမူ ကား၊
6 The Lord our God told us at Horeb: “You have remained here beside this mountain for long enough.
၆ငါတို့ဘုရားသခင် ထာဝရဘုရားသည်၊ ဟောရပ် အရပ်၌ ငါတို့အား မိန့်တော်မူသည်ကား၊ သင်တို့သည် ကာလအချိန်စေ့အောင် ဤတောင်၌ နေကြပြီ။
7 Continue your journey and go to the hill country of the Amorites and all their neighbors, into the Jordan Valley, into the hill country, into the foothills, into the Negev, and along the coast to the country of the Canaanites up to Lebanon, as far as the great River Euphrates.
၇လှည့်လည်၍ ခရီးသွားကြလော့။ အာမောရိ တောင်သို့၎င်း၊ ထိုတောင်နှင့် နီးသောအရပ်၊ လွင်ပြင်၊ တောင်ရိုး၊ ချိုင့်၊ တောင်မျက်နှာ၊ ပင်လယ်နားသို့၎င်း၊ ခါနာန်ပြည်၊ လေဗနုန်တောင်၊ ဥဖရတ်မြစ်ကြီး တိုင်အောင်၎င်း သွားကြလော့။
8 Look, I'm giving this land to you. Go and take ownership of the land that the Lord promised he would give to your fathers Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and to their descendants who would follow them.”
၈ထိုပြည်ကို သင်တို့ရှေ့မှာ ငါထားပြီ။ ထာဝရ ဘုရားသည် သင်တို့အဘ အာဗြဟံ၊ ဣဇာက်၊ ယာကုပ်မှ စ၍၊ သူတို့အမျိုးအနွယ်အား ပေးမည်ဟု ကျိန်တော်မူ သောပြည်ကို ဝင်၍ သိမ်းယူကြလော့ဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။
9 That's when I told you, “I can't take responsibility for all of you by myself.
၉ထိုအခါ သင်တို့အား ငါပြောသည်ကား၊ သင်တို့ အမှုကို ငါတယောက်တည်း မထမ်းနိုင်။
10 The Lord your God has increased your numbers so much that today there are as many of you as there are stars in the sky.
၁၀သင်တို့၏ ဘုရားသခင် ထာဝရဘုရားသည် သင်တို့ကို များပြားစေတော်မူ၍၊ သင်တို့သည် အရေ အတွက်အားဖြင့် ကောင်းကင်ကြယ်ကဲ့သို့ ယနေ့ ဖြစ်ကြ၏။
11 May the Lord, the God of your forefathers, multiply you a thousand times and bless you as he has promised.
၁၁သင်တို့အဘများ၏ ဘုရားသခင် ထာဝရဘုရား သည် သင်တို့ကို အဆအထောင်အားဖြင့် များပြားစေ တော်မူပါစေသော။ ဂတိတော်ရှိသည်အတိုင်း ကောင်း ကြီးပေးတော်မူပါစေသော။
12 But how can I take on all your troubles, burdens, and arguments just by myself?
၁၂သင်တို့ပင်ပန်းခြင်း၊ အမှုဆောင်ရွက်ခြင်း၊ ရန် တွေ့ခြင်းဝန်ကို ငါတယောက်တည်း အဘယ်သို့ ထမ်းနိုင် မည်နည်း။
13 You must choose for yourselves wise, experienced men with good judgment from each of your tribes, and I will put them in charge as your leaders.”
၁၃ဥာဏ်ပညာနှင့်ပြည့်စုံ၍ အသရေရှိသောသူတို့ ကို သင်တို့အမျိုးများထဲက ရွေးပေးကြလော့။ သူတို့ကို မင်းအရာ၌ ငါခန့်ထားမည်ဟု ပြောဆိုလျှင်၊
14 You replied to me, saying, “Your proposal is a good one.”
၁၄သင်တို့က ကိုယ်တော်ပြောသည်အတိုင်း ပြုကောင်း ပါသည်ဟု ပြန်ဆိုကြ၏။
15 So I summoned your tribal leaders, men with good judgment, and put them in charge of you, as commanders and officials for your tribes. Some were responsible for thousands, some for hundreds, some for fifties, and some for tens.
၁၅ထိုကြောင့် သင်တို့အမျိုးများ၌ အသရေရှိသော လူကြီး၊ ပညာရှိတို့ကို ငါရွေးချယ်ပြီးလျှင်၊ သင်တို့တွင် မင်းလုပ်ရသောသူတည်း ဟူသော လူတထောင်အုပ်၊ တရာအုပ်၊ ငါးဆယ်အုပ်၊ တဆယ်အုပ်၊ အကြပ်အဆော် အရာ၌ ခန့်ထား၏။
16 At the same time I gave strict instructions to your judges: “Hear the cases brought between your brothers, and make sure you are fair when you judge between a man and his brother or a foreigner living among you.
၁၆တရားသူကြီးတို့အားလည်း၊ သင်တို့ ညီအစ်ကို ၏ အမှုတို့ကို နားထောင်၍ အမျိုးသားချင်း တရားတွေ့ သည်ဖြစ်စေ၊ တပါးအမျိုးသားနှင့် တွေ့သည်ဖြစ်စေ၊ တရားသဖြင့် စီရင်ကြလော့။
17 Don't show any favoritism when you judge—treat the powerful and the common people just the same. Don't let anyone intimidate you, because judgment is done on God's behalf. Bring me any case that is too hard for you, and I will hear it.”
၁၇တရားအမှုကို စီရင်သောအခါ အဘယ်သူ၏ မျက်နှာကို မထောက်ရ။ လူငယ်စကားကို လူကြီးစကားကဲ့ သို့ မှတ်ရမည်။ အဘယ်လူကိုမျှ မကြောက်ရ။ အကြောင်း မူကား၊ တရားအမှုကို ဘုရားသခင်ပိုင်တော်မူသော ကြောင့်တည်း။ ကိုယ်တိုင်မစီရင်တတ်သော အမှုကို ငါ့ထံမှာ အယူခံရမည်။ ငါလည်း နားထောင်မည်ဟု မှာခဲ့၏။
18 This was also the time I instructed you about everything you had to do.

19 Following the orders of the Lord our God, we left Horeb and set off towards the hill country of the Amorites, passing through the whole of the large and terrifying desert that you yourselves have experienced. When we reached Kadesh-barnea,
၁၉ငါတို့သည် ဟောရပ်အရပ်မှ ထွက်သောနောက်၊ အာမောရိတောင်သို့ သွားသော လမ်းနားမှာ ကြောက် မက်ဘွယ်ဖြစ်၍ သင်တို့တွေ့မြင်သော တောကြီးအလယ် ၌၊ ငါတို့ဘုရားသခင် ထာဝရဘုရား မှာထားတော်မူ သည်အတိုင်း ရှောက်သွား၍၊ ကာဒေရှဗာနာအရပ်သို့ ရောက်ကြ၏။
20 I explained to you, “You have reached the hill country of the Amorites, which the Lord our God is giving to us.
၂၀ထိုအခါ ငါကလည်း၊ ငါတို့ဘုရားသခင် ထာဝရ ဘုရားပေးတော်မူသော အာမောရိတောင်သို့ သင်တို့ သည် ရောက်ကြပြီ။
21 Look, the Lord your God has given you the land! Go and take ownership of the land as the Lord, the God of your forefathers, has told you. Don't be frightened or terrified.”
၂၁သင်တို့ဘုရားသခင် ထာဝရဘုရားသည် ပြည် တော်ကို သင်တို့ရှေ့မှာ ထားတော်မူပြီ။ သင်တို့အဘ များ၏ ဘုရားသခင် ထာဝရဘုရား မိန့်တော်မူသည် အတိုင်း၊ တက်သွား၍ သိမ်းယူကြလော့။ မကြောက်ကြ နှင့်။ စိတ်လည်း မပျက်ကြနှင့်ဟု ပြောဆို၏။
22 Then you all came to me and suggested, “Let's send men on ahead to explore the land and report back to us about what route to take and which towns we'll come across.”
၂၂ထိုအခါ သင်တို့ရှိသမျှသည် ငါ့ထံသို့ ချဉ်းကပ် ၍၊ အကျွန်ုပ်တို့ရှေ့၌ လူတို့ကို စေလွှတ်ပါမည်။ သူတို့သည် ထိုပြည်ကို စူးစမ်းပြီးမှ၊ အကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည် အဘယ်လမ်းသို့သွားလျှင် အဘယ်မြို့သို့ ရောက်ရ မည်ကို ကြားပြောကြပါ လိမ့်မည်ဟု၊
23 It seemed like a good plan to me, so I chose twelve of your men, one from each tribe.
၂၃လျှောက်ဆိုသောစကားကို ငါနှစ်သက်၍၊ သင်တို့တွင် တမျိုးတယောက်စီ၊ လူပေါင်း တကျိပ် နှစ်ယောက်တို့ကို ရွေးထား၏။
24 They set off and went up into the hill country as far as the Valley of Eshcol, exploring the land.
၂၄ထိုသူတို့သည် တောင်ပေါ်သို့ လှည့်သွား၍၊ ဧရှကောလချိုင့်သို့ ရောက်သဖြင့် စူးစမ်းကြ၏။
25 They brought back some of the country's fruit, carrying it down to us, and gave us the report: “The Lord our God is giving us good land.”
၂၅ထိုပြည်၌ရသော သစ်သီးကို ထမ်း၍ ဆောင်ခဲ့ လျက်၊ ငါတို့ဘုရားသခင် ထာဝရဘုရားပေးတော်မူ သောပြည်သည် ကောင်းသော ပြည်ဖြစ်၏ဟု ကြားပြော ကြသော်လည်း၊
26 But you didn't want to go. You rebelled against the instructions of the Lord your God.
၂၆သင်တို့သည် မသွားဘဲ၊ သင်တို့ဘုရားသခင် ထာဝရဘုရား၏ အမိန့်တော်ကို ဆန်လျက်၊
27 You complained while you were in your tents and said, “It's because the Lord hates us that he led us out of Egypt in order to hand us over to the Amorites to be wiped out.
၂၇ထာဝရဘုရားသည် ငါတို့ကိုမုန်း၍ ဖျက်ဆီးချင် သောကြောင့်၊ အာမောရိလူတို့ လက်၌ အပ်လိုသောငှါ၊ အဲဂုတ္တုပြည်မှ နှုတ်ဆောင်တော်မူသည်တကား။
28 Where are we going? Our brothers terrified us because they told us: ‘The people are bigger and taller than us; the towns are large, with high walls that reach the sky. We even saw the descendants of the giant Anak there!’”
၂၈ငါတို့သည် အဘယ်သို့ သွားရမည်နည်း။ ညီအစ်ကိုတို့က၊ ထိုပြည်သားတို့သည် ငါတို့ထက်သာ၍ ကြီး၏။ အရပ်လည်း သာ၍မြင့်၏။ မြို့လည်း မိုဃ်း ကောင်းကင်သို့ထိသော မြို့ရိုးလည်းရှိ၏။ ထိုပြည်၌ လည်း၊ အာနကအမျိုးသားတို့ကို မြင်ရ၏ဟု ငါတို့စိတ်ကို ဖျက်ကြပြီဟု သင်တို့သည် တဲများ၌ ဆန့်ကျင်ဘက်ပြု ကြ၏။
29 So I told you, “Don't be frightened or scared of them!
၂၉ထိုအခါ ငါက၊ မထိတ်လန့်ကြနှင့်၊ သူတို့ကို မကြောက်ကြနှင့်။
30 The Lord your God who leads your way will fight for you in the same way you saw him do for you in Egypt.
၃၀သင်တို့ရှေ့မှာကြွတော်မူသော သင်တို့၏ ဘုရား သခင် ထာဝရဘုရားသည် သင်တို့မျက်မှောက်၊ အဲဂုတ္တုပြည်၌၎င်း၊
31 He did the same in the desert—you saw how the Lord your God carried you like a father carries his son during your whole journey until you arrived here.”
၃၁သင်တို့လိုက်လာသော လမ်းတလျှောက်လုံး၊ ဤအရပ်တိုင်အောင် အဘသည် သားကို ချီပိုက်သကဲ့သို့၊ သင်တို့၏ ဘုရားသခင် ထာဝရဘုရားသည် သင်တို့ကို ချီပိုက်တော်မူသော ကျေးဇူးတော်ကို ခံရာတော၌၎င်း၊ သင်တို့အဘို့ ပြုတော်မူသကဲ့သို့၊ သင်တို့ဘက်၌ စစ်ကူ တော်မူမည်ဟု ဆိုသော်လည်း၊
32 Despite all this, you didn't trust the Lord your God,
၃၂သင်တို့တဲစားခန်းချရာအရပ်ကို ရှာ၍ သင်တို့ သွားလတံ့သောလမ်းကို ပြခြင်းငှါ၊ ညဉ့်ခါ မီး၌၎င်း၊ နေ့အခါ မိုဃ်းတိမ်၌၎င်း၊
33 who led you on the journey, present in the fire by night and in the cloud by day, looking to find a place for you to camp and to show you the way to go.
၃၃သင်တို့ရှေ့မှာ ကြွတော်မူသော သင်တို့ဘုရားသခင် ထာဝရဘုရား၏ စကားတော်ကို ထိုအမှု၌ သင်တို့ မယုံကြပါတကား။
34 When the Lord heard what you were saying, he got angry and swore an oath:
၃၄သင်တို့စကားသံကို ထာဝရဘုရားကြား၍ မျက်တော်ထွက်လျက်၊
35 “Not a single one of this evil generation will see the good land I promised to give your forefathers,
၃၅သူတို့ဘိုးဘေးတို့အား ငါပေးမည်ဟု ငါကျိန်ဆို သော ပြည်ကောင်းကို၊ ယေဖုန္နာ၏သား ကာလက်မှ တပါး၊ ဤဆိုးသောလူမျိုး တစုံတယောက်မျှ ဆက်ဆက် မမြင်ရ။
36 except Caleb, son of Jephunneh. He will see it, and I will give him and his descendants the land he explored, because he was completely committed to the Lord.”
၃၆ထိုသူသည် ထာဝရဘုရားနောက်တော်သို့ လုံးလုံးလိုက်သော ကြောင့် မြင်ရ၏။ သူနင်းသောပြည်ကို သူမှစ၍ သူ၏သားမြေးတို့အား ငါပေးမည်ဟု ကျိန်ဆို တော်မူ၏။
37 The Lord also got angry with me because of you. He told me, “Even you won't enter the country.
၃၇သင်တို့အတွက် ထာဝရဘုရားသည် ငါ့ကိုလည်း အမျက်တော်ထွက်၍၊ သင်သည် ထိုပြည်သို့ မဝင်စားရ။
38 However, Joshua, son of Nun, your assistant, will enter it. Encourage him, for he will help Israel to occupy the land.
၃၈သင့်လက်ထောက် နုန်၏သား ယောရှုသည် ဝင်စားရမည်။ သူသည် ဣသရေလအမျိုးသား အမွေခံ စေမည့်သူ ဖြစ်သောကြောင့်၊ သူ့ကို အားပေးလော့။
39 Your small children that you claimed would become prisoners, your children who at the time didn't know good from evil, they will be the ones to enter the land that I will give them, and they will occupy it.
၃၉ရန်သူလုယူရာဖြစ်မည်ဟု သင်တို့ဆိုသော သူငယ်များ၊ ထိုအခါ ကောင်းမကောင်းကို ပိုင်းခြား မသိနိုင်သေးသော သားသမီးများတို့သည် ထိုပြည်ကို ဝင်စား၍၊ ငါပေးသည်အတိုင်း သိမ်းယူကြလိမ့်မည်။
40 But now turn around and head back into the desert on the road that leads to the Red Sea.”
၄၀သင်တို့မူကား၊ လှည့်၍ဧဒုံပင်လယ်လမ်းဖြင့် တောသို့ခရီးသွားကြဦးလော့ဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။
41 But you answered and told me, “We have sinned against the Lord! We will go and we will fight and we will do everything the Lord our God has ordered us to do.” Then you all picked up your weapons and prepared for battle thinking it would be easy to go and fight in the hill country.
၄၁သင်တို့ကလည်း၊ အကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည် ထာဝရ ဘုရားကို ပြစ်မှားမိပါပြီ။ အကျွန်ုပ်တို့ ဘုရားသခင် ထာဝရဘုရား မှာထားတော်မူသမျှအတိုင်း၊ ယခုသွား၍ စစ်တိုက်ပါမည်ဟု ငါ့အား လျှောက်ဆိုလျက်၊ လူအပေါင်း တို့သည် လက်နက်စွဲကိုင်လျက်၊ တောင်ပေါ်သို့ တက်ခြင်း ငှါ အသင့်နေကြ၏။
42 But the Lord instructed me, “Order them not to go and fight because I won't be with you to prevent you from being defeated by your enemies.”
၄၂ထာဝရဘုရားကလည်း၊ တက်၍ မတိုက်ကြနှင့်။ သင်တို့ဘက်၌ ငါမရှိ။ တိုက်လျှင် ရန်သူရှေ့မှာ ရှုံးရကြ လိမ့်မည်ဟု သင်တို့အား ဆင့်ဆိုရမည်အကြောင်း၊ ငါ့အား မိန့်တော်မူသည်အတိုင်း၊
43 I told you this, but you refused to listen. You defied the instructions of the Lord and arrogantly went to fight in the hill country.
၄၃ငါဆင့်ဆိုသော်လည်း သင်တို့သည် နား မထောင်၊ ထာဝရဘုရား၏ အမိန့်တော်ကို ငြင်းဆန်၍ ခိုင်ခံ့သောစိတ်နှင့် တောင်ပေါ်သို့ တက်ကြ၏။
44 Then the Amorites living there in the hills came and attacked you. They chased after you like a swarm of bees, killing you all the way from Seir to Hormah.
၄၄ထိုအခါ တောင်ပေါ်မှာရှိနှင့်သော အာမောရိ အမျိုးသားတို့သည် သင်တို့တဘက်၌ ထွက်လာလျက်၊ ပျားများအုံ၍ လိုက်သကဲ့သို့ သင်တို့ကိုလိုက်၍၊ စိရအရပ်၊ ဟောမာမြို့တိုင်အောင် ဖျက်ဆီးကြ၏။
45 You came back to camp and wept before the Lord, but he refused to listen to what you said or to pay attention to you.
၄၅သင်တို့သည်လည်း ပြန်လာ၍ ထာဝရဘုရား ရှေ့တော်၌ ငိုကြွေးကြ၏။ သို့သော်လည်း သင်တို့စကား ကို ထာဝရဘုရား နားထောင် နားယူတော်မမူ။
46 You stayed there in Kadesh for a long time.
၄၆ထိုကြောင့် ကာဒေရှအရပ်၌ အရင်နေသကဲ့သို့ ကြာမြင့်စွာ နေပြန်ရကြ၏။
