< Deuteronomy 34 >

1 Moses left the plains of Moab and went to Mount Nebo, climbing right to the top of Pisgah that faces in the direction of Jericho. The Lord showed him the whole country, from Gilead all the way to Dan.
And Moses went up from the plains of Moab to mount Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, which is opposite Jericho. And Jehovah shewed him the whole land, Gilead to Dan,
2 This included all the territories of Naphtali, Ephraim and Manasseh, Judah as far as the Mediterranean Sea,
and all Naphtali, and the land of Ephraim, and Manasseh, and all the land of Judah, unto the hindmost sea,
3 the Negev, and the Jordan Valley from Jericho (the city of palms) down to Zoar.
and the south, and the plain of the valley of Jericho, the city of palm-trees, to Zoar.
4 The Lord told him, “This is the country I solemnly promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob when I said, ‘I'm giving it to your descendants.’ I have allowed you to see it for yourself, but you're not going to enter it.”
And Jehovah said unto him, This is the land that I swore unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, saying, Unto thy seed will I give it: I have caused thee to see it with thine eyes, but thou shalt not go over thither.
5 Moses, the servant of the Lord, died there in the country of Moab, just as the Lord had said.
And Moses the servant of Jehovah died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of Jehovah.
6 He buried him in a valley there in Moab that is opposite Beth-peor, but no one knows to this day where Moses' grave is.
And he buried him in the valley in the land of Moab, opposite Beth-Peor; and no man knows his sepulchre to this day.
7 Moses was 120 when he died, yet he was still seeing clearly and he was still strong.
And Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died; his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated.
8 The Israelites mourned for Moses on the plains of Moab for thirty days, until the time of mourning was over.
And the children of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days; and the days of weeping and mourning for Moses were ended.
9 Joshua, son of Nun, was filled with the spirit of wisdom because Moses had placed his hands on him to dedicate him. The Israelites paid attention to him, and followed the instructions the Lord had given to Moses.
And Joshua the son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands upon him; and the children of Israel hearkened unto him, and did as Jehovah had commanded Moses.
10 Since then there has never been a prophet in Israel like Moses who was the Lord's close friend.
And there arose no prophet since in Israel like Moses, whom Jehovah had known face to face;
11 The Lord sent him to carry out all the signs and miracles in Egypt to convince Pharaoh and his officials, and all the people in the country.
according to all the signs and wonders that Jehovah had sent him to do in the land of Egypt, to Pharaoh, and to all his servants, and to all his land;
12 Moses did these amazing things with tremendous power as the Israelites watched.
and according to all that mighty hand; and according to all the great terribleness that Moses had wrought in the sight of all Israel.
