1 John 5
1 Whoever trusts that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and whoever loves the father also loves his child.
Jeder der glaubt, daß Jesus der Christus ist, ist aus Gott gezeugt. Und jeder, der seinen Erzeuger liebt, liebt auch den, der von ihm gezeugt ist;
2 How do we know that we love God's children? When we love God and follow his commands.
daran erkennen wir, daß wir die Kinder Gottes lieben, wofern wir Gott lieben und seine Gebote thun.
3 Loving God means that we follow his commands, and his commands are not hard to bear.
Denn dies ist die Liebe Gottes, daß wir seine Gebote halten.
4 Everyone who is born of God defeats the world. The way we gain victory and defeat the world is by trusting God.
Und seine Gebote sind nicht drückend, weil alles, was aus Gott gezeugt ist, die Welt überwindet, und dies ist der Sieg, der die Welt überwunden hat: unser Glaube.
5 Who can defeat the world? Only those who trust in Jesus, believing he is the Son of God.
Wer ist es, der die Welt überwindet, als der da glaubt, daß Jesus der Sohn Gottes ist?
6 He is the one who came through water and blood, Jesus Christ. He did not only come by water, but by water and blood. The Spirit gives evidence to confirm this, for the Spirit is the truth.
Dieser ist es, der gekommen ist durch Wasser und Blut: Jesus Christus; nicht mit dem Wasser allein, sondern mit dem Wasser und mit dem Blut; und der Geist ist es, der zeugt, weil der Geist die Wahrheit ist.
7 So there are three that give evidence:
So sind es drei die da zeugen:
8 the Spirit, the water, and the blood, and all three agree as one.
der Geist, das Wasser, und das Blut, und die drei sind einig.
9 If we accept the evidence that human witnesses provide, then the evidence that God provides is much more important. The evidence that God provides is his testimony about his Son.
Wenn wir das Zeugnis der Menschen annehmen, nun das Zeugnis Gottes ist größer; denn dies ist Gottes Zeugnis, daß er gezeugt hat von seinem Sohn.
10 Those trusting in the Son of God have accepted and hold on to this evidence. Those who don't trust God make God out to be a liar, because they don't believe the evidence God has given about his Son.
Wer an den Sohn Gottes glaubt, hat das Zeugnis durch ihn; wer Gott nicht glaubt, hat ihn zum Lügner gemacht, weil er nicht geglaubt hat an das Zeugnis, welches Gott gezeugt hat über seinen Sohn.
11 The evidence is this: God has given eternal life to us, and we have this life through his Son. (aiōnios g166)
Und dies ist das Zeugnis: daß uns Gott ewiges Leben gegeben hat, und dieses Leben in seinem Sohne ist. (aiōnios g166)
12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever doesn't have the Son of God doesn't have life.
Wer den Sohn hat, hat das Leben; wer den Sohn Gottes nicht hat, hat das Leben nicht.
13 I'm writing to tell those of you who trust in the name of the Son of God so you can be certain you have eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
Dieses habe ich euch geschrieben, damit ihr wisset, daß ihr ewiges Leben habt, euch die ihr glaubt an den Namen des Sohnes Gottes. (aiōnios g166)
14 We can be confident that he will listen to us as long as we ask in accordance with his will.
Und dies ist die Zuversicht, die wir zu ihm haben, daß wenn wir etwas bitten nach seinem Willen, er uns erhört.
15 If we know that he hears our requests, we can be sure that we will receive what we've asked him for.
Und wenn wir wissen, daß er uns auf unser Bitten erhört, so wissen wir, daß uns die Bitten sicher sind, die wir von ihm erbeten haben.
16 If you see your Christian brother or sister committing a sin that is not a deadly sin, you ought to pray and God will grant life to the one who's sinned. (But not for a deadly sin. There's a sin that is deadly, and I'm not saying people should pray about that.
Wenn einer seinen Bruder sündigen sieht, eine Sünde nicht zum Tode, so soll er bitten, und er wird ihm Leben geben, nämlich solchen, die nicht zum Tode sündigen. Es gibt eine Sünde zum Tode, davon rede ich nicht, daß man dafür bitten soll.
17 Yes, all that is not right is sin, but there's sin that is not deadly.)
Jede Ungerechtigkeit ist Sünde, so gibt es auch Sünde die nicht zum Tode ist.
18 We recognize that those who are born of God don't keep on sinning. The Son of God protects them and the devil cannot harm them.
Wir wissen, daß jeder, der aus Gott gezeugt ist, nicht sündigt, sondern wer aus Gott gezeugt ward, hält fest an ihm, und der Böse rührt ihn nicht an.
19 We know that we belong to God, and that the world is under the power of the evil one.
Wir wissen, daß wir aus Gott sind, und die ganze Welt im Bösen liegt.
20 We also know that the Son of God has come, and has helped us to understand so we can recognize the one who is true. We live in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God, and is eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
Wir wissen aber, daß der Sohn Gottes gekommen ist, und er hat uns Einsicht verliehen, daß wir den Wahrhaftigen erkennen, und wir sind in dem Wahrhaftigen, in seinem Sohne Jesus Christus; das ist der wahrhaftige Gott und ewiges Leben. (aiōnios g166)
21 Dear friends, stay away from idol worship.
Kinder, hütet euch vor den Götzen.
