Matthew 5
1 Now seeing the crowds He went up on the mountain, and upon His sitting down His disciples approached Him.
Als Er aber das Gedränge sah, stieg Er auf den Berg, und als Er Sich niedersetzte, kamen Seine Jünger herzu zu Ihm.
2 And opening His mouth He started teaching them, saying:
Und Er tat Seinen Mund auf, lehrte sie und sprach:
3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of the heavens.
Selig sind, die im Geiste arm sind, denn das Reich der Himmel ist ihr.
4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Selig sind, die da Leid tragen, denn sie sollen getröstet werden.
5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Selig sind die Sanftmütigen, denn sie werden das Land ererben.
6 Blessed are those hungering and thirsting for righteousness, for they will be filled.
Selig sind, die da hungert und dürstet nach Gerechtigkeit, denn sie sollen satt werden.
7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Selig sind die Barmherzigen, denn sie werden Barmherzigkeit erlangen.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
Selig sind, die reinen Herzens sind, denn sie werden Gott schauen.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.
Selig sind die Friedensstifter, denn sie werden Gottes Söhne heißen.
10 Blessed are those who have been persecuted on account of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of the heavens.
Selig sind, die um Gerechtigkeit willen verfolgt werden, denn das Reich der Himmel ist ihr.
11 “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and speak all kinds of evil against you, lying, because of Me.
Selig seid ihr, wenn sie euch schelten und verfolgen und reden allerlei Übles wider euch um Meinetwillen, so sie daran lügen.
12 Rejoice and exult, because your reward in the heavens is great, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Freuet euch und frohlocket, denn viel ist eures Lohns in den Himmeln; denn also verfolgten sie die Propheten, die vor euch gewesen.
13 You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt becomes insipid with what will it be salted? It is then good for nothing except to be thrown out and trampled down by the people.
Ihr seid das Salz der Erde; so aber das Salz fade wird, womit soll man salzen? Es ist zu nichts mehr nütze, als daß man es hinausirft, und es von den Menschen niedergetreten wird.
14 You are the light of the world. A city located upon a hill cannot be hidden.
Ihr seid das Licht der Welt. Eine Stadt, die auf dem Berge liegt, kann nicht verborgen sein.
15 Nor do they light a lamp and place it under the hamper, but on the lampstand, and it shines on everything in the house.
Noch zündet man eine Kerze an und setzt sie unter einen Scheffel, sondern auf einen Leuchter, und sie leuchtet allen, die im Hause sind.
16 So also let your light shine before the people, so that they may see your good works and may glorify your Father, who is in the heavens.
Also lasset euer Licht leuchten vor den Menschen, daß sie eure guten Werke sehen und euren Vater in den Himmeln verherrlichen.
17 “Do not suppose that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.
Denket nicht, daß Ich gekommen sei, das Gesetz oder die Propheten aufzulösen; Ich bin nicht gekommen aufzulösen, sondern zu erfüllen.
18 For assuredly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not one iota nor one tittle shall pass away from the Law until everything happens.
Denn wahrlich sage Ich euch: Bis daß Himmel und Erde vergehen, soll kein Jod noch ein Strichlein vom Gesetz vergehen, bis daß alles geschehe.
19 Therefore, whoever annuls one of the least of these commandments and teaches that to the people will be called least in the kingdom of the heavens; but whoever does and teaches them, he will be called great in the kingdom of the heavens.
Wer nun eins dieser kleinsten Gebote löset, und lehret die Menschen also, wird der Kleinste heißen im Reiche der Himmel; wer aber tut und lehrt, der wird groß heißen im Reiche der Himmel.
20 For I say to you that unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees you will absolutely not enter the kingdom of the heavens!
Denn Ich sage euch: Es sei denn, daß eure Gerechtigkeit weit übertreffe die der Schriftgelehrten und Pharisäer, so werdet ihr nicht in das Reich der Himmel eingehen.
21 “You have heard that it was said to the ancients, ‘You shall not murder, so whoever murders will be liable to the judgment.’
Ihr habt gehört, daß zu den Alten gesagt ist: Du sollst nicht morden; wer aber mordet, der soll dem Gericht verfallen sein.
22 But I say to you that whoever gets angry with his brother without cause will be liable to the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, ‘Numbskull!’ will be liable to the council. But whoever says, ‘You absolute idiot!’ will be liable to hell fire. (Geenna g1067)
Ich aber sage euch: Wer seinem Bruder zürnt, ist dem Gericht verfallen; wer aber zu seinem Bruder sagt: Raka, der verfällt dem Rat; wer aber sagt: Du Narr, der verfällt der Hölle des Feuers. (Geenna g1067)
23 Therefore, if you bring your gift to the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you,
Wenn du denn deine Gabe auf dem Altar darbringst, und allda gedenkst, daß dein Bruder etwas wider dich hat,
24 leave your gift there before the altar and go; first be reconciled with your brother and then, returning, offer your gift.
So laß allda vor dem Altar deine Gabe und geh erst hin und versöhne dich mit deinem Bruder und dann komm und bringe deine Gabe dar.
25 Be agreeable to your adversary quickly, while you are on the way with him, lest the adversary hand you over to the judge, and the judge hand you over to the officer, and you be thrown into prison.
Sei willfährig gegen deinen Widersacher, schnell, während du mit ihm auf dem Wege bist, auf daß dich der Widersacher nicht dem Richter überantworte und der Richter dich überantworte dem Amtsdiener und du in das Gefängnis geworfen werdest.
26 Assuredly I say to you, you will by no means get out of there until you have paid the last penny.
Wahrlich, Ich sage dir, du wirst nicht von dannen herauskommen, bis daß du auch den letzten Heller bezahlst.
27 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’
Ihr habt gehört, daß zu den Alten gesagt ist: Du sollst nicht ehebrechen.
28 But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
Ich aber sage euch, daß, wer ein Weib ansieht, um ihrer zu begehren, der hat schon mit ihr die Ehe gebrochen in seinem Herzen.
29 So if your right eye is causing you to fall, tear it out and throw it away; because it is better for you that one of your members perish than that your whole body be thrown into hell. (Geenna g1067)
Ärgert dich aber dein rechtes Auge, so reiß es aus und wirf es von dir; denn es ist dir zuträglicher, daß eins deiner Glieder verderbe, denn daß dein ganzer Leib in die Hölle geworfen werde. (Geenna g1067)
30 And if your right hand is causing you to fall, cut it off and throw it away; because it is better for you that one of your members perish than that your whole body be thrown into hell. (Geenna g1067)
Und ärgert dich deine rechte Hand, so haue sie ab und wirf sie von dir; denn es ist dir zuträglicher, daß eins deiner Glieder verderbe, denn daß dein ganzer Leib in die Hölle geworfen werde. (Geenna g1067)
31 It was said, ‘Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.’
Es ist aber gesagt worden: Wer sich von seinem Weibe scheidet, der gebe ihr einen Scheidebrief.
32 But I say to you that whoever divorces his wife, except for a case of fornication, causes her to commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.
Ich aber sage euch: Wer sich von seinem Weibe scheidet, es sei denn wegen Buhlerei, der macht, daß sie die Ehe bricht; und wer eine Geschiedene freit, der bricht die Ehe.
33 “Again you have heard that it was said to the ancients: ‘You shall not swear falsely, but you shall perform your oaths to the Lord.’
Wiederum habt ihr gehört, daß zu den Alten gesagt ist: Du sollst keinen falschen Eid tun, sondern dem Herrn deinen Eid halten.
34 But I say to you not to swear at all: neither by heaven, because it is God's throne;
Ich aber sage euch: Ihr sollt gar nicht schwören, weder bei dem Himmel, denn er ist Gottes Thron;
35 nor by the earth, because it is a stool for His feet; nor by Jerusalem, because it is the city of the great King.
Noch bei der Erde, denn sie ist Seiner Füße Schemel; noch bei Jerusalem, denn sie ist des großen Königs Stadt.
36 Nor shall you swear by your head, because you cannot make one hair white or black.
Auch nicht bei deinem Haupt sollst du schwören, denn du kannst nicht ein Haar weiß oder schwarz machen.
37 But let your word be ‘yes yes’, ‘no no’; for whatever is more than these is from the malignant one.
Euer Wort aber sei: Ja, ja, nein, nein. Was weiter ist, das ist vom Übel.
38 “You have heard that it was said: ‘An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.’
Ihr habt gehört, daß gesagt ist: Aug Ü um Auge und Zahn um Zahn.
39 But I say to you not to resist the evildoer; but whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also.
Ich aber sage euch: Ihr sollt dem Übel nicht widerstehen; sondern so dir einer einen Streich gibt auf deinen rechten Backen, dem wende den andern auch zu.
40 “And if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have the cloak as well.
Dem, der mit dir rechten und dir den Rock nehmen will, dem laß auch das Oberkleid.
41 And whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two.
So dich einer eine Meile nötigt, gehe mit ihm zwei.
42 Give to him who asks you, and do not turn away from him who wants to borrow from you.
Gib dem, der dich bittet, und wende dich nicht ab von dem, der von dir entlehnen will.
43 “You have heard that it was said: ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’
Ihr habt gehört, daß gesagt ist: Du sollst deinen Nächsten lieben und deinen Feind hassen.
44 But I say to you: love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you,
Ich aber sage euch: Liebet eure Feinde, segnet, die euch fluchen, tut wohl denen, die euch hassen, und betet für die, welche euch beleidigen und verfolgen.
45 that you may prove to be sons of your Father in the heavens; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and He sends rain on the just and the unjust.
Auf daß ihr Söhne werdet eures Vaters in den Himmeln; denn Er läßt Seine Sonne aufgehen über Schlechte und Gute, und läßt regnen über Gerechte und Ungerechte.
46 For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?
Denn so ihr liebet, die euch lieben, was für Lohn habt ihr? Tun nicht dasselbe auch die Zöllner?
47 And if you greet only your friends, what are you doing extra? Do not even the tax collectors do so?
Und wenn ihr nur eure Brüder grüßet, was tut ihr weiteres? Tun nicht die Zöllner auch also?
48 Therefore, you be perfect just as your Father in the heavens is perfect.
So sollt nun ihr vollkommen sein, gleichwie euer Vater in den Himmeln vollkommen ist.
