< Mark 1 >

1 A beginning of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Son of God!
Yesu Kristo, si nye Mawu ƒe Vi la, ƒe nyanyui la ƒe gɔmedzedzee nye esi.
2 As it is written in the prophets —“Take note, I am sending my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way before you.”
Abe ale si woŋlɔe ɖi le Nyagblɔɖila Yesaya ƒe agbalẽ me ene be, “Madɔ nye dɔla ɖe ŋgɔwò be wòadzra wò mɔ la ɖo,
3 “A voice calling out: ‘In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord, make His paths straight!’”—
ame si ƒe gbe le ɖiɖim le gbea dzi be, ‘Midzra Yehowa ƒe mɔ ɖo, miwɔ eƒe mɔtatawo woanɔ dzɔdzɔe nɛ.’”
4 John started baptizing in the wilderness and proclaiming a baptism of repentance for forgiveness of sins.
Yohanes Mawutsidetanamelae nye dɔla sia. Enɔ gbedzi, eye wònɔ mawunya gblɔm be amewo nede tsi ta; ne wòafia be wotrɔ dzi me, ale be wòatsɔ woƒe nu vɔ̃wo ake wo.
5 Well, the whole Judean countryside and the Jerusalemites started going out to him, and were all being baptized by him in the Jordan River, confessing their sins.
Ame geɖe ŋutɔ tso Yerusalem kple Yudea nutowo me yi gbea dzi be yewoakpɔ Yohanes, eye yewoase gbedeasi si wòtsɔ vɛ la. Esi ame siawo ʋu woƒe nu vɔ̃wo me nɛ vɔ la, ede mawutsi ta na wo le Yɔdan tɔsisi la me.
6 Now John was clothed with camel's hair and with a leather belt around his waist; and he was eating locusts and wild honey.
Wotɔ awu si Yohanes do la kple kposɔfu, eye wòtsɔ lãgbalẽlidziblaka bla awua dzii. Eƒe nuɖuɖu koe nye ʋetsuviwo kple gbemenyitsi.
7 And he was proclaiming: “After me my Superior is coming, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to stoop down and loosen.
Egblɔ na eƒe nyaselawo be, “Ame aɖe gbɔna kpuie, si de ŋgɔ wum sãa, nyemedze be mabɔbɔ atu eƒe atokotaŋuka gɔ̃ hã o.
8 I indeed baptized you with water, but He will baptize you with Holy Spirit.”
Nye la, tsi ko metsɔ de mawutsi ta na mi, gake eya adee na mi kple Gbɔgbɔ Kɔkɔe la!”
9 Well it happened in those days that Jesus came from Natsareth of Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan.
Ɣe ma ɣi la, Yesu tso Nazaret le Galilea va Yohanes gbɔ, eye Yohanes de mawutsi ta nɛ le Yɔdan tɔsisi la me.
10 And immediately upon coming up from the water He saw the heavens being torn open and the Spirit, like a dove, descending upon Him.
Esi Yesu nɔ dodom tso tsia me la, ekpɔ be dziƒowo nu ʋu, eye Gbɔgbɔ Kɔkɔe si nɔ akpakpa ƒe nɔnɔme me la nɔ ɖiɖim ɖe edzi.
11 And a Voice came from the heavens: “You are my Son, the beloved, in whom I am well pleased!”
Gbe aɖe hã ɖi tso dziƒo be, “Wòe nye vinye si gbɔ nyemelɔ̃a nu le o, wò me mekpɔa ŋudzedze le.”
12 Immediately the Spirit impelled Him into the wilderness.
Enumake Gbɔgbɔ Kɔkɔe la do dui wòyi gbedzi.
13 And He was there in the wilderness forty days being tested by Satan, and was with the wild animals; and the angels were ministering to Him.
Enɔ gbea dzi ŋkeke blaene, eye Satan va tee kpɔ. Enɔ lã wɔadãwo dome, eye mawudɔlawo va do ŋusẽe to subɔsubɔ me.
14 Now after John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee proclaiming the Gospel of the Kingdom of God,
Esi Fia Herod lé Yohanes de gaxɔ me vɔ megbe la, Yesu yi Galilea be yeagblɔ Mawu ƒe nyanyui la.
15 and saying: “The time has been fulfilled and the Kingdom of God has approached. Repent and believe in the Gospel.”
Eɖe gbeƒã be, “Ɣeyiɣi la de azɔ! mawufiaɖuƒe la gogo! Mitrɔ dzi me ne mianɔ agbe ɖe nyanyui la ƒe ɖoɖowo nu.”
16 Then, as He was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew his brother, of Simon, casting a circular net onto the water, for they were fishermen.
Gbe ɖeka esi Yesu ɖi tsa to Galilea ƒuta va yina la, ekpɔ Simɔn kple nɔvia Andrea wonɔ asabu dam ɖe ƒua me, elabena ɖɔkplɔlawo wonye.
17 So Jesus said to them: “Come, follow me and I will turn you into fishers of men.”
Yesu yɔ wo hegblɔ na wo be, “Miva dze yonyeme ne mawɔ mi miazu amewo ɖelawo.”
18 At once they left their nets and followed Him.
Enumake wogblẽ woƒe asabu ɖi hedze eyome.
19 And going on from there a little ways He saw James, son of Zebedee, and his brother John; they were in their boat mending their nets.
Esi wozɔ ƒuta la yina sẽe la, Yesu gakpɔ Zebedeo ƒe viŋutsuwo, Yakobo kple nɔvia Yohanes hã wonɔ ʋu me nɔ woƒe ɖɔwo sam.
20 Right away He called them, and leaving their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men they followed Him.
Eyɔ woawo hã be woadze ye yome, ale wogblẽ wo fofo Zebedeo kple ɖɔkplɔlawo ɖe ʋua me hedze Yesu yome enumake.
21 Then they went into Capernaum. The very next Sabbath He entered the synagogue and began to teach.
Yesu kple ame siwo nɔ eŋu la va ɖo Kapernaum, eye woyi Yudatɔwo ƒe ƒuƒoƒe la le Dzudzɔgbe ŋkeke la dzi. Yesu fia nu amewo le afi ma.
22 And they kept on being amazed at His teaching, because He was teaching them as one having authority, and not like the scribes.
Ame siwo nɔ ƒuƒoƒea la ƒe mo wɔ yaa le Yesu ƒe nufiafia ŋuti, elabena efia nu wo kple kakaɖedzi blibo. Le nyateƒe me la, ale si wòfia nui la to vovo sãa tso ale si woƒe agbalẽfialawo fianɛ la gbɔ.
23 Now there was a man in their synagogue with an unclean spirit; and he cried out,
Ŋutsu aɖe si me gbɔgbɔ vɔ̃ nɔ la hã nɔ ƒuƒoƒe la gbe ma gbe. Ame sia de asi ɣlidodo me be,
24 saying: “Hey, what do you want with us, Jesus Natsarene?! Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God!”
“Yesu Nazaretitɔ, nu ka ta nèle fu ɖem na mí ɖo? Ɖe nèva be yeatsrɔ̃ mía? Menya ame si nènye, wòe nye Mawu ƒe Vi Kɔkɔetɔ la.”
25 So Jesus rebuked him saying: “Shut up and get out of him!”
Yesu blu ɖe eta gblɔ be, “Zi ɖoɖoe, eye nàdo go le eme.”
26 The unclean spirit, convulsing him and crying with a loud voice, came out of him.
Le Yesu ƒe gbeɖeɖea nu la, gbɔgbɔ vɔ̃ la do ɣli sesĩe, tsɔ amea xlã ɖe anyi ŋɔdzitɔe, eye wòdo go le eme.
27 And all were astounded, so that they questioned among themselves, saying: “What is this? What can this new doctrine be? Because with authority he commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him!”
Nuwɔna sia wɔ nuku na eteƒekpɔlawo ŋutɔ, eye woƒo nu le eŋu. Wobia wo nɔewo bena, nufiafia yeye kae nye esia? Etsɔ ŋusẽ dea se na gbɔgbɔ vɔ̃wo eye woɖoa toe.
28 So His fame spread directly into the whole surrounding area of Galilee.
Nu si Yesu wɔ la na be eƒe ŋkɔ ɖi hoo le Galilea nutowo katã me le ɣeyiɣi kpui aɖe megbe.
29 Immediately upon exiting the synagogue they went into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.
Yesu kple eŋutimeawo do go le ƒuƒoƒe la, Yakobo kple Yohanes kpe ɖe wo ŋu eye woyi Simɔn kple Andrea ƒe aƒe me,
30 Simon's mother-in-law was lying down with a fever, so without delay they told Him about her.
Ŋudza lé Simɔn lɔ̃xo, eye wònɔ dɔba dzi hafi wode, ale wogblɔe na Yesu.
31 So He went and grasping her hand lifted her up; immediately the fever left her and she began to serve them.
Yesu yi dɔnɔ la ƒe aba gbɔ, elé eƒe alɔnu, eye wònɔ alinu. Dzoxɔxɔ sesẽ si nɔ nyɔnu la ƒe lãme la nu bɔbɔ enumake eye eƒe lãme sẽ. Ale wòtso yi ɖaɖa nu va ɖo wo kɔme.
32 That evening, when the sun had set, they started bringing to Him all who were sick and the demonized.
Esi ɣe nɔ to ɖom la, wokplɔ dɔléla vovovowo kple ame siwo me gbɔgbɔ vɔ̃wo le la va egbɔ le aƒe si me wònɔ la be wòada gbe le wo ŋu.
33 So much so that the whole town was gathered at the door,
Kapernaum du blibo la katã kloe va ƒo ƒu ɖe ʋɔtrua nu be yewoakpɔ nu.
34 and He healed many who were sick with various diseases and cast out many demons; and He did not allow the demons to speak, because they knew He was Messiah.
Yesu da gbe le dɔléla geɖewo ŋu, eye wònya gbɔgbɔ vɔ̃wo do goe le ame aɖewo me fiẽ ma. Meɖe mɔ na gbɔgbɔ vɔ̃awo be woaƒo nu o, elabena wonya ame si wònye.
35 Now very early, still night, He got up, slipped out, and went off to a solitary place, where He was praying.
Le fɔŋli la, Yesu ɖeka do go, eye wòɖe eɖokui ɖe aga be yeado gbe ɖa.
36 Simon and those with him hunted for Him,
Le ɣeyiɣi aɖe megbe la, Simɔn kple ame bubuawo do go yi ɖadii.
37 and upon finding Him they said to Him, “Everyone is looking for you.”
Esi wokpɔe la, wogblɔ nɛ be, “Aƒetɔ, ameha la le diwòm.”
38 But He said to them: “Let us go to the neighboring towns, so I can preach there also; that is why I have come.”
Yesu ɖo eŋu na wo be, “Ele be míayi du bubuwo hã me be magblɔ nyanyui la na woawo hã, elabena esia ta meva ɖo.”
39 He was constantly preaching in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and also casting out demons.
Ale wòzɔ mɔ tsa le Galilea nutowo katã me, henɔ mawunya gblɔm le woƒe ƒuƒoƒewo, eye wònɔ ga ɖem ame siwo gbɔgbɔ vɔ̃wo de gae la hã.
40 A leper came to Him, imploring Him, kneeling before Him and saying to Him, “If you want to, you are able to cleanse me.”
Gbe ɖeka la, anyidzela aɖe va dze klo ɖe Yesu ƒe akɔme, eye wòɖe kuku nɛ vevie be wòada gbe le ye ŋu. Egblɔ na Yesu be, “Ne èlɔ̃ la, na ŋutinye nakɔ.”
41 So being moved with compassion, Jesus stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him: “I want to; be cleansed!”
Anyidzela la ƒe nu wɔ nublanui na Yesu ŋutɔ, eya ta wòka asi eŋu hegblɔ nɛ be, “Mèlɔ̃, ŋutiwò nekɔ.”
42 And when He said this, immediately the leprosy left him, and he was cleansed.
Enumake anyidzela la ƒe lãme sẽ.
43 And He sent him away at once, sternly warning him,
Yesu dɔe enumake kple sedede vevi sia be,
44 by saying: “See that you say nothing to anyone; but go, show yourself to the priest and offer for your cleansing the things that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”
“Kpɔ egbɔ be mègblɔ nu sia na ame aɖeke o, ke boŋ yi nàtsɔ ɖokuiwò afia nunɔla la, eye nàna vɔsanu siwo Mose ɖo ɖi na ameŋukɔkɔ abe ɖaseɖiɖi na wo ene.”
45 However he went out and began to proclaim it freely, spreading the news, so that He was no longer able to enter a town openly, but remained outside in deserted places; yet they kept coming to Him from all over.
Gake esi ŋutsu la dzo yina la, eɖe gbeƒã eƒe lãmesẽkpɔkpɔ la na amewo le mɔa dzi. Le esia ta ameha gã aɖe nye zi ɖe Yesu dzi, ale be megate ŋu yi du aɖeke me o, ke boŋ etsi gbea dzi. Ke le afi sia hã la, amewo tso teƒeteƒewo va egbɔ.
