< Luke 3 >

1 Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judea and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, while his brother Philip was tetrarch of the region of Iturea and Trachonitis and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene,
Ke yac aksingoul limekosr in we lal Tokosra Fulat Tiberius, Pontius Pilate pa governor in acn Judea, Herod pa leumi acn Galilee, ac Philip, tamulel lal Herod, pa leumi acn Iturea ac Trachonitis; Lysanias el leumi acn Abilene;
2 during the high priesthood of Annas (also Caiaphas), the word of God came upon John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness.
ac Annas ac Caiaphas eltal mwet Tol Fulat. In pacl se inge pa kas lun God tuku nu sel John, wen natul Zechariah, ke el muta yen mwesis.
3 So he went into all the region around the Jordan, proclaiming a baptism of repentance for forgiveness of sins;
Ouinge John el fufahsryesr in acn nukewa su oan apkuran nu ke Infacl Jordan, ac oru luti lal we, ac fahk, “Kowos auliyak ac baptaisla, na God El fah eela ma koluk lowos.”
4 as it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, saying: “A voice calling out: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord in the wilderness, make His paths straight.
Oana ma simla in book lal Isaiah mwet palu: “Sie pusra wowoyak yen mwesis ac fahk, ‘Kowos akoo inkanek lun Leum, Ac aksuwosye Elan fahsr kac!
5 Every ravine will be filled up, and every mountain and hill will be leveled; the crooked parts of the roads will be straightened out, and the rough parts will be smoothed out;
Infahlfal nukewa ac fah nwekyukla, Ac eol ac tohktok nukewa ac fah akfwelyeyuk. Inkanek kururu ac fah aksuwosyeyuk, Ac innek siruprup fah akfwelyeyuk.
6 and all flesh will see the salvation of God.’”
Mwet nukewa fin faclu ac fah liye molela sin God me!’”
7 Then he said to the crowds that were coming out to be baptized by him: “You sons of poisonous snakes! Who tipped you off to flee from the coming wrath?
Un mwet puspis som nu yorol John in tuh baptaisla sel. El fahk nu selos, “Kowos wet pwasin! Su fahk mu kowos ac ku in kaingkunla mwe keok ma God El akola in supwama uh?
8 Well then, produce fruits befitting repentance, and don't even begin to say among yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as father,’ because I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones!
Oru ma ac akpwayei lah kowos forla liki ma koluk lowos an. Ac nimet sifacna nunku mu Abraham el papa tomowos. Nga fahk nu suwos lah God El ku na in eis eot inge ac ekulla nu ke tulik natul Abraham!
9 But even now the axe is being laid to the root of the trees; so then, every tree not producing good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.”
Tuhla uh akola tari in pakiya sak uh nwe ke oka uh. Sak nukewa ma tia oswe fahko wo uh ac fah pakpuki ac sisila nu in e uh.”
10 So the people started asking him, “What then must we do?”
Na mwet uh siyuk sel, “Na mea kut ac oru?”
11 In answer he said to them, “He who has two coats, let him share with him who has none; and he who has food should do likewise.”
El topuk ac fahk, “Kutena mwet su oasr nuknuk luo lal, lela elan sang sie lun el su wangin la, ac kutena mwet su oasr mwe mongo yorol, lela elan sang kutu nun mwet ma wangin ma nac.”
12 Well even tax collectors came to be baptized by him and said to him, “Teacher, what must we do?”
Kutu mwet eisani tax elos tuku in wi baptaisla, ac elos siyuk sel, “Mwet Luti, ac kut — mea kut in oru?”
13 So He said to them, “Don't charge more than what was determined to you.”
El fahk nu selos, “Nimet eis tax yohk liki lupa ma oakwuki ke ma sap an.”
14 So the soldiers started asking him too: “What about us? What must we do?” He said to them, “Don't extort or harass anyone, and be content with your wages.”
Ac kutu mwet mweun elos oayapa siyuk sel, “Ac kut — mea kut ac oru?” El fahk nu selos, “Nimet eisla mani sin kutena mwet ke funmwet, ku orek loh kikiap lain mwet. Kowos in falkinna molin orekma lowos an.”
15 Now as the people were expectant and all were reasoning in their hearts concerning John, whether he just might be the Messiah,
Mutawauk in yokelik finsrak lun mwet uh kacl John lah acnu el pa Messiah.
16 John anticipated them all saying: “I indeed am baptizing you with water, but One mightier than I is coming, whose sandal straps I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with Holy Spirit and fire;
Ouinge John el fahk nu selos nukewa, “Nga baptaisi kowos ke kof, tusruktu oasr sie su ac fah tuku, su arulana fulat ac ku likiyu. Nga kupansuwol in tulala ah losyen fahluk lal ah. El ac fah baptaisi kowos ke Ngun Mutal ac e.

Fork in sraclik lal oasr inpaol, ac el akola in sraclik fiten wheat liki kulun wheat. El ac fah orani wheat lal nu in nien filma lal. Tusruktu kulun wheat uh ac fah isisyak in sie e su ac fah tiana kunla.”
18 (Indeed, with many other exhortations as well he kept on preaching to the people;
In lumah puspis John el fahkak Pweng Wo nu sin mwet uh, ac kwafe nu selos in ekulla ouiyen moul lalos.
19 but Herod the tetrarch—being reproved by him concerning Herodias, his brother's wife, as also about all the wicked things that Herod perpetrated—
Tusruktu John el kael Herod, su leumi Galilee, mweyen el payukyak sel Herodias, mutan se kien tamulel lal, ac oru pac kain koluk puspis saya.
20 added this also to them all: he actually locked John up in his prison.)
Na Herod el eisalang John nu in presin, su koluk liki na ouiya ma el oru meet ah.
21 Now when all the people were baptized, Jesus, having been baptized also, was praying, when the heaven was opened
Tukun mwet nukewa baptaisla tari, Jesus el oayapa baptaisla. Ke pacl se el pre ah, kusrao ikakla,
22 and the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove and rested upon Him, and a Voice came out of heaven saying, “You are my beloved Son; in you I am always well pleased.”
ac Ngun Mutal tuhwi nu facl oana luman sie wuleoa. Ac sie pusra tuku inkusrao me ac fahk, “Kom Wen kulo nutik. Nga arulana insewowo sum.”
