< Luke 3 >

1 Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judea and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, while his brother Philip was tetrarch of the region of Iturea and Trachonitis and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene,
Le Kaisaro Tibero ƒe fiaɖuɖu ƒe ƒe wuiatɔ̃lia me, esi Pontio Pilato nye mɔmefia le Yudea eye Herod nye dziɖula le Galilea, eye nɔvia Filipo hã nye dziɖula le Iturea kple Trakonitis, eye Lisania hã nɔ Abilene dzi ɖum,
2 during the high priesthood of Annas (also Caiaphas), the word of God came upon John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness.
3 So he went into all the region around the Jordan, proclaiming a baptism of repentance for forgiveness of sins;
Yohanes nɔ tsatsam tso teƒe yi teƒe le Yɔdan tɔsisi la ƒe go eveawo dzi, nɔ mawunya gblɔm be amewo nede tsi ta; ne wòafia be wotrɔ dzi me, ale be wòatsɔ woƒe nu vɔ̃wo ake wo.
4 as it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, saying: “A voice calling out: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord in the wilderness, make His paths straight.
Abe ale si woŋlɔe le Nyagblɔɖila Yesaya ƒe nyagblɔɖigbalẽ me ene be, “Ame si le ɣli dom tso gbea dzi ƒe gbee nye esi, ‘Miɖe mɔ na Yehowa be wòazɔ edzi! Miwɔ eƒe mɔwo dzɔdzɔe.
5 Every ravine will be filled up, and every mountain and hill will be leveled; the crooked parts of the roads will be straightened out, and the rough parts will be smoothed out;
Balimewo katã akɔ kpo, eye woabɔbɔ to kple togbɛ ɖe sia ɖe ɖe anyi. Mixe ʋe siwo le baliwo me! Miwɔ mɔ gɔglɔ̃wo woadzɔ! Miwɔ mɔ tsakliwo zɔzrɔ̃e.
6 and all flesh will see the salvation of God.’”
7 Then he said to the crowds that were coming out to be baptized by him: “You sons of poisonous snakes! Who tipped you off to flee from the coming wrath?
Yohanes gblɔ mawunya na ame siwo vaa egbɔ be wòade mawutsi ta na yewo be, “Ame kae xlɔ̃ nu mi dawo ƒe dzidzimeviwo be miasi le Mawu ƒe dɔmedzoe si gbɔna la nu?
8 Well then, produce fruits befitting repentance, and don't even begin to say among yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as father,’ because I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones!
Gbã la, miyi ne miaɖee fia be yewotrɔ dzi me to agbe nyui nɔnɔ me. Migabu be nya vɔ̃ aɖeke madzɔ ɖe mia dzi, elabena mienye Abraham ƒe dzidzimeviwo ta o. Esia ɖeɖe menye naneke o, elabena Mawu ate ŋu ana kpe siawo natrɔ zu viwo na Abraham.
9 But even now the axe is being laid to the root of the trees; so then, every tree not producing good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.”
Woɖo ʋɔnudɔdrɔ̃ ƒe fiá atiwo ƒe kewo dzi. Ɛ̃, le nyateƒe me la, ati sia ati si metse ku nyui o la, woalãe ƒu anyi, eye woatsɔe ade dzo me.”
10 So the people started asking him, “What then must we do?”
Ameha la ɖo eŋu nɛ be, “Nu ka nèdi tso mía si be míawɔ?”
11 In answer he said to them, “He who has two coats, let him share with him who has none; and he who has food should do likewise.”
Yohanes ɖo eŋu na wo be, “Ne awu eve le ame aɖe si la, nena ame si ɖeke mele esi o, eye ame si si nuɖuɖu le la newɔ nenema ke.”
12 Well even tax collectors came to be baptized by him and said to him, “Teacher, what must we do?”
Dugadzɔla siwo nye amebala vɔ̃ɖiwo la gɔ̃ hã va do ɖe egbɔ be wòade mawutsi ta na yewo. Wobiae be, “Nufiala nu ka míawɔ?”
13 So He said to them, “Don't charge more than what was determined to you.”
Yohanes ɖo eŋu na wo be, “Mito nyateƒe le miaƒe dugadzɔdzɔ me. Mikpɔ nyuie be miagadzɔ ga le ame aɖeke si wu ale si woɖo na mi la o.”
14 So the soldiers started asking him too: “What about us? What must we do?” He said to them, “Don't extort or harass anyone, and be content with your wages.”
Ne mienya be ame aɖe mewɔ nane o la, migahe nya ɖe eŋu alakpatɔe o. Fetu si miexɔna la hã nedze mia ŋu!”
15 Now as the people were expectant and all were reasoning in their hearts concerning John, whether he just might be the Messiah,
Ame sia ame kloe nɔ mɔ kpɔm be ava kpuie le ŋkeke mawo me, ale be wotsi dzi vevie be yewoanya nenye be Yohanes ye nye Kristo loo alo menye eyae o?
16 John anticipated them all saying: “I indeed am baptizing you with water, but One mightier than I is coming, whose sandal straps I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with Holy Spirit and fire;
Eya ade mawutsi ta na mi kple dzo kple Gbɔgbɔ Kɔkɔe.
17 whose winnowing shovel is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor and gather the wheat into His barn, but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”
Ame si si lugbɔnu le, be wòatsɔ akplɔ eƒe lugbɔƒe ƒiaƒiaƒia, alɔ lu la ɖe eƒe ava me. Ke atɔ dzo tsroa kple dzo matsimatsi.”
18 (Indeed, with many other exhortations as well he kept on preaching to the people;
Yohanes xlɔ̃ nu amewo vevie kple nya siawo esime wònɔ nyanyui la gblɔm na wo.
19 but Herod the tetrarch—being reproved by him concerning Herodias, his brother's wife, as also about all the wicked things that Herod perpetrated—
20 added this also to them all: he actually locked John up in his prison.)
Herod lé Yohanes hã de gaxɔ me.
21 Now when all the people were baptized, Jesus, having been baptized also, was praying, when the heaven was opened
22 and the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove and rested upon Him, and a Voice came out of heaven saying, “You are my beloved Son; in you I am always well pleased.”
eye Gbɔgbɔ Kɔkɔe la ɖiɖi ɖe edzi le akpakpa ƒe nɔnɔme me, eye gbe aɖe ɖi tso dziƒo be, “Wòe nye vinye si gbɔ nyemelɔ̃a nu le o, wò me mekpɔa ŋudzedze le.”
