< Luke 17 >

1 Then He said to the disciples: “Things that cause people to fall are bound to come, but woe to him through whom they do come!
Te phoeiah a hnukbang rhoek te, “Thangkui te a thoeng pawt ham om tloel coeng. Tedae anunae anih lamloh aka thoeng sak aih.
2 It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea, than that he should cause one of these little ones to fall.
He camoe rhoek khuikah pakhat a khah ham lakah tah a rhawn ah lungto phaklung a oi tih tuili la voei koinih anih ham hoeikhang lah.
3 Watch out for yourselves: if your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him.
Namamih te ngaithuen uh, na manuca loh a tholh atah amah te toel, a yut atah anih te hlah laeh.
4 Even if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in that day returns, saying, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him.”
Hnin at neh nang soah voei rhih tholh coeng dae namah taengla voei rhih ha bal tih, ‘Ka yut,’ a ti coeng atah anih te hlah laeh,” a ti nah.
5 The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.”
Caeltueih rhoek loh Boeipa taengah, “Kaimih ham tangnah han thap lah,” a ti uh.
6 So the Lord said: “If you had faith like a mustard seed has, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted, and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.
Tedae Boeipa loh, “Tangnah he mukang mu tet na khueh uh koinih, hekah thaihae kung he, ‘Phong uh lamtah tuili ah phung,’ na ti uh mai cakhaw nangmih kah te a ngai ni.
7 “And which of you, having a slave plowing or tending sheep, will say to him when he comes in from the field, ‘Come at once and recline to eat’?
Nangmih khuiah sal aka khueh te tah lai a thol pah tih boiva a dawn pah. Lohma lamkah a paipaek vaengah anih te u long, ‘Ha kun lamtah cawt ngol dae,’ a ti na eh?
8 Will he not rather say to him, ‘Prepare something for me to eat, and gird yourself and serve me until I eat and drink, and afterward you will eat and drink’?
Anih te, ‘Mebang khaw tawn lamtah ka ca eh, te phoeiah cihnin vaep lamtah ka caak ka ok vaengah kai taengah thotat, te phoeiah ni na caak na ok eh,’ ti na mahpawt nim?
9 Does he thank that slave because he did the things commanded? I guess not!
A uen te a saii dongah sal soah lungvatnah khueh mapawt nim?
10 So likewise you, whenever you have done everything you were told to do, say, ‘We are unworthy slaves, because we have only done what we were supposed to.’”
Nangmih khaw, nangmih ng'uen te boeih na saii uh tangloeng dae, ‘Kaimih tah sal hlangkhue hlangvaih rhoek ni, saii ham a kuek te ni n'saii,’ ti uh mai,” a ti nah.
11 Now as He was traveling toward Jerusalem, He went along between Samaria and Galilee.
Jerusalem la a caeh a om vaengah Jesuh tah Samaria neh Galilee laklo longah cet.
12 And as He entered a certain village, ten men met Him—being lepers they stood at a distance.
Te vaengah vangca pakhat la a kun hatah hmaibae hlang parha loh Jesuh te a doe uh tih amamih tah soei pai uh.
13 They called out, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”
Te phoeiah a ol a huel uh tih, “Boeipa Jesuh kaimih n'rhen lah,” a ti uh.
14 And paying attention He said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” It happened that as they went they were cleansed!
Amih te a hmuh vaengah, “Cet uh lamtah namamih te khosoih rhoek taengah tueng uh,” a ti nah. Tedae a caeh uh li vaengah mah amih te boeih cim uh.
15 Well one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, glorifying God with a loud voice;
Tedae amih khuikah pakhat long tah a hoeih te a hmuh vaengah bal tih ol ue la Pathen te a thangpom.
16 then he fell on his face at His feet, thanking Him—and he was a Samaritan!
Te phoeiah anih tah Samaria dae ni a kho kung ah maelhmai a buluk thil tih Jesuh te a uem.
17 So Jesus reacted by saying: “Were not all ten cleansed? So where are the nine?
Te dongah Jesuh loh a doo tih, “Parha la a cim uh moenih a? Pako rhoek ta melae?
18 None were found to return and give glory to God except this foreigner!”
Anih kholong hlang pawt atah Pathen te thangpomnah paek ham aka bal hmu uh boel saeh a?” a ti nah.
19 Then He said to him, “Get up and go; your faith has made you well.”
Te phoeiah anih te, “Thoo, cet laeh, namah kah tangnah loh namah ng'khang coeng,” a ti nah.
20 Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the Kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said: “The Kingdom of God does not come with observation;
Pathen kah ram ha pawk vaengkah te Pharisee rhoek loh a dawt dongah amih te a doo tih, “Pathen kah ram tah hmuhnah neh ha pawk moenih.
21 nor will they say, ‘Look, here!’ or ‘Look, there!’ because indeed the Kingdom of God is within you.”
‘He la he, ke la ke,’ ti uh mahpawh. Pathen kah ram tah namamih khuiah ni a om te,” a ti nah.
22 Then He said to the disciples: “Days are coming when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of the Man, and you will not see it.
Te phoeiah hnukbang rhoek te, “Khohnin ha pawk vaengah hlang capa kah khohnin te hnin at hmuh ham na hue uh suidae na hmuh uh mahpawh.
23 And they will say to you, ‘Look, here!’ or ‘Look, there!’ Do not go along or follow.
Nangmih taengah, ‘Ke la ke, he la he,’ a ti uh akhaw cet uh boeh, hnuktlak uh boeh.
24 Because just like the lightning that lights the whole sky when it flashes, so also will the Son of the Man be in His day.
Khophaa loh phaa tih vaan hmui pakhat lamkah loh vaan hmui pakhat la sae ni. Hlang capa tah amah tue vaengah ha om tangloeng bitni.
25 But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.
Tedae lamhma la muep a patang ham neh tahae cadil loh a hnawt ham khaw a kuek.
26 Also, just as it was in the days of Noah, so will it also be in the days of the Son of the Man.
Noah tue vaengkah a om vanbangla, hlang capa kah a tue vaengah khaw om van ni.
27 They were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.
Noah lawng khuila a kun khohnin duela yuloh rhaihlan neh a caak a ok uh. Te dongah tuilii ha pawk vaengah boeih poci.
28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they were eating, drinking, buying, selling, planting, building—

29 but on the day Lot went out from Sodom, fire and brimstone rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.
Tedae Sodom lamkah loh Lot a caeh khohnin ah, vaan lamkah hmai neh kat a tlan pah tih boeih poci.
30 Even so will it be in the day when the Son of the Man is revealed.
Hlang capa a pumphoe tue vaengah amah boeiloeih la om ni.
31 “In that day, he who is on the housetop, and his goods in the house, let him not go down to get them; and likewise he who is in the field, let him not turn back.
Te khohnin vaengah imphu ah aka om tah, im khuikah a hno te loh hamla suntla boel saeh. Lohma kah long khaw a hnuk la mael van boel saeh.
32 Remember Lot's wife!

33 Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it, and whoever ‘wastes’ it will preserve it.
A hinglu te kutloh ham aka toem long tah poci ni, tedae aka hlong long tah tekah a hing thil ni.
34 I tell you: on that night there will be two men in one bed; one will be taken and the other left.
Nangmih taengah ka thui, tekah khoyin ah panit loh thingkong pakhat dongah om rhoi cakhaw, pakhat te a khuen vetih pakhat te a hlun ni.
35 Two women will be grinding together; one will be taken and the other left.”

Te dongah amah te a doo uh tih, “Melae Boeipa,” a ti na uh.
37 They reacted by saying to Him, “Where, Lord?” He said to them, “Where there is a carcass, there will the vultures also be gathered.”
Tedae amih te, “Rhok te tah langta loh pahoi a bo van ni,” a ti nah.
