< 1 Corinthians 10 >

1 Now I do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, that our fathers were all under the cloud and all passed through the sea
Toronoo susue nggara, e! Hei afiꞌ liliiꞌ dudꞌui dalahuluꞌ ra leleꞌ bei-baꞌi tara mia mamana rouꞌ a. Lamatualain natudꞌu dalaꞌ soaꞌ neu basa se, nendiꞌ leleeꞌ mana laoꞌ sia mata nara. Boe ma ana tadꞌa hendi tasi oeꞌ a, de no se tungga naa losa ara seli tasiꞌ a seriꞌ reu no masodꞌaꞌ.
2 —all were baptized into Moses by the cloud and by the sea—
Leleeꞌ a no tasiꞌ naa, dadꞌi nekendandaaꞌ esa. Bei-baꞌi tara ramahere baꞌi Musa de nalalao se, de ara tungga leleeꞌ a, ma masoꞌ tasi oeꞌ rala reu ro e. Naa onaꞌ hita mana tamahere neu Kristus, leleꞌ hita hambu sarani, naa natudꞌu oi, hita dadꞌi Eni atahorin, ma hita rena Eni boe.
3 and all ate the same spiritual food
Hita bei-baꞌi nara basa se raa nanaat fo Lamatualain Dula-dalen sadꞌia fee se raa.
4 and drank the same spiritual drink; because they kept drinking from a spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that Rock was the Christ.
Fatu naa, naeni Kristus.
5 For all that, God was not pleased with most of them—their carcasses were scattered around the desert!
Leleꞌ ara lao ndule mamana rouꞌ ma loaꞌ naa, atahori hetar mate mia naa. Dadꞌi ara raꞌoi atahori naa ra sia mamanaꞌ hetar.
6 Now these things became examples for us, to the intent that we should not lust after evil things as they also lusted.
Basa naa ra dadꞌi fo netudꞌu conto, fo ata afiꞌ hii tao deꞌulakaꞌ onaꞌ se.
7 And do not become idolaters, just like some of them; as it is written: “The people sat down to eat and drink, and got up to amuse themselves.”
Afiꞌ songgo, onaꞌ sira ruma. Sia Lamatualain Susura Meumaren nenesuraꞌ oi, “Atahori Israꞌel ra endoꞌ raa-rinu raꞌabꞌue sia paton sapi anaꞌ a matan. Basa ma ara mulai songgo-tanggu.”
8 And let us not fornicate, just as some of them did—and in one day twenty-three thousand died!
Ata afiꞌ tao leli to atahori fo nda hita saon sa. Huu fai mana laoꞌ naa, ara hohongge onaꞌ naa, de atahori rifon rua nulu telu mate siaꞌ a faiꞌ esa rala.
9 Neither let us test the Christ, just as also some of them did—and were destroyed by the snakes!
Ata afiꞌ sobꞌa-sobꞌa tao deꞌulakaꞌ mataꞌ-mataꞌ, fo tae mete Kristus nae huku-doki nggita, do hokoꞌ. Huu atahori Israꞌel ra ruma rae sobꞌa Lamatualain taꞌo naa, boe ma Ana haitua mengge marasoꞌ hetar rema ero risa se.
10 And do not grumble, just as also some of them did—and were executed by the destroyer!
Ata o afiꞌ unggu-remu. Huu sira ruma unggu-remu rakandooꞌ a, de Lamatualain denu aten esa mia sorga neu tao nisa se.
11 Now all these things happened to them as examples and were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come. (aiōn g165)
Dalaꞌ naa dai atahori Israꞌel ra, fo dadꞌi conto fee nggita. Ara suraꞌ basa se ena, de ata tanori ma afiꞌ tao tungga sala nara. Huu fai mateteꞌen deka-deka nema ena. (aiōn g165)
12 So then, let him who thinks he stands be careful that he does not fall!
Nedꞌa-nedꞌaꞌ, e! Ia na dudꞌuꞌa mae, bisa muꞌutataaꞌ muhereꞌ ena. Te musi besa-bꞌesa, fo afiꞌ tudꞌa.
13 No testing has overtaken you except what is common to man, and God is competent, who will not allow you to be tested beyond what you can stand, but with the testing will also provide the way out, that you may be able to endure it.
Leleꞌ hambu sobꞌa-douꞌ onaꞌ naa, na, Ana fee nggo dalaꞌ sosoiꞌ. Ana nau tao nggo muꞌutataaꞌ muhereꞌ, fo afiꞌ tudꞌa.
14 Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry!
Dadꞌi toronoo susue nggara, e! Mete ma atahori rae raꞌasusuuꞌ nggi fo beꞌutee neu sosonggoꞌ ra, na, mela hela naa leo! Afiꞌ eo-ao fai!
15 I speak as to wise men; judge for yourselves what I say.
Au ola-olaꞌ o hei mana mihine dudꞌuꞌa naruꞌ. Hela fo ama timba-tai ao mara fo bubꞌuluꞌ saa fo au ae olaꞌ naa, tebꞌe.
16 The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a sharing of the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a sharing of the body of Christ?
Dudꞌuꞌa sobꞌa dalaꞌ ia dei: mete ma taa taꞌabꞌue sia Lamatuaꞌ mein, ma haꞌi tala nggalas a, de toꞌe makasi mbali E, ma tinu mia nggalas naa, na sosoan nae, hita nenepaꞌaꞌ to Kristus ena. Leleꞌ Ana fee raan nandali de mate, naa onaꞌ hita o mate boe. Leleꞌ hita bibꞌibꞌi roti a, fo hita taa, naa sosoan ona esaꞌ, naeni, hita nenepaꞌaꞌ to Kristus. Dadꞌi leleꞌ Ana mate, naa onaꞌ hita o mate boe.
17 Since the loaf is one, we, the many, are one body, because we all partake of that single loaf.
Basa hita haꞌi babꞌanggiꞌ mia roti balok esa. Dadꞌi basa mana haꞌi babꞌanggiꞌ mia roti naa, mae hita hetar o, onaꞌ hita nenepaꞌaꞌ teu aoꞌ esa.
18 Consider the physical Israel: are not those who eat the sacrifices partakers of the altar?
Dudꞌuꞌa sobꞌa atahori Israꞌel lele uluꞌ ra. Leleꞌ ara hala banda sia mei tutunu-hohotuꞌ a fo beꞌutee neu Lamatualain, malangga agama mana halaꞌ naa, mana hambu naa sisi a. Eni sosoan, sira nenepaꞌaꞌ ro Lamatualain, boe ma sira o nenepaꞌa ro atahori mana nendi banda tutunu-hohotuꞌ a.
19 So what am I getting at? That an idol is anything, or what is offered to idols is anything?
Au masud ngga taꞌo bee? Leleꞌ atahori nda mana rahine Lamatualain sa rae fee tutunu-hohotuꞌ neu sosonggo nara, naa nda naꞌena sosoan saa sa boe, do? Huu sosonggoꞌ naa ra, akaꞌ paton mates ra! Hokoꞌ! Au masud ngga taꞌo ia: leleꞌ atahori hala banda dadꞌi tutunu-hohotuꞌ fee neu sosonggo nara, ara songgo dula-dale deꞌulakaꞌ ra. Te ara nda beꞌutee neu Lamatualain matetuꞌ a sa. Dadꞌi au nda nau nggi nenepaꞌa mo dula-dale deꞌulakaꞌ onaꞌ naa sa.
20 Rather, that the things pagans sacrifice they sacrifice to demons and not to God. I do not want you to become participants with the demons.
21 You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the Lord's table and of the table of demons.
Mete ma hei nenepaꞌaꞌ mo Lamatuaꞌ, ma minu mia nggalas sia Lamatuaꞌ mei tutunu-hohotun, na, ama afiꞌ mii mibali mo dula-dale deꞌulakaꞌ ra, ma minu mia sira nggalan leleꞌ atahori songgo se. Huu naa sosoan nae, hei nenepaꞌaꞌ mo dula-dale deꞌulakaꞌ ra ena. Huu naa sosoan nae, hei nenepaꞌaꞌ mo dula-dale deꞌulakaꞌ ra! Nggoaꞌ, re!
22 Are we going to provoke the Lord's jealousy? Are we stronger than He?
Hei duꞌa taꞌo bee? Mae tao hita Lamatuan horo-mbala nggi, do? Naa soe ena! Mbei ma duꞌa mae hei maꞌadꞌereꞌ lenaꞌ E, do?
23 All things are ‘permissible’ for me, but not all things are expedient. All things are ‘permissible’ for me, but not all things edify.
Mbei ma hei mae, “Au sudꞌiꞌ a ae tao saa na bole. Huu naa au hak ngga.” Tebꞌe.
24 Let no one seek his own, but each one the other's well-being.
Afiꞌ sangga akaꞌ a hahambuꞌ soaꞌ neuꞌ a aom. Malole lenaꞌ, sangga hahambuꞌ soaꞌ neu atahori laen boe.
25 Eat whatever is being sold in the meat market, asking no question for the sake of conscience;
Sudꞌi boe mitane fai, “Ia sisi sosonggoꞌ, do?” Do duꞌa mae, “Au ua sisi ia, do hokoꞌ?”
26 since “the earth is the Lord's, and all its fullness.”
Te sia Lamatualain Susura Meumaren nenesuraꞌ oi, “Raefafoꞌ no basa isi nara, hita Lamatuan enan.”
27 If some unbeliever invites you and you decide to go, eat whatever is set before you, asking no questions for the sake of conscience.
Sudꞌi boe mutane mae, “Au bisa ua nanaat ia ra, do hokoꞌ?”
28 But if anyone says, “This was offered to idols,” do not eat it for the sake of the speaker and of the conscience; since “the earth is the Lord's, and all its fullness.”
(Te mete ma hambu atahori sa nema utu-utu nae, “Afiꞌ mua, huu ia sisi sosonggoꞌ,” malole lenaꞌ afiꞌ mua. Musi mete malolole atahori mana nendi haraꞌ naa, ana ai, do hokoꞌ.
29 ‘Conscience’ I say, not your own but that of the other. Now just why should my freedom be judged by another's conscience?
Au masud ngga, duꞌa malolole, tungga atahori naa dudꞌuꞌan, bole mua, do afiꞌ.
30 If I partake with thanks, why be slandered over something I give thanks for?
31 Therefore, whether you eat or you drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
Dadꞌi hei mae mia do, minu do, tao sudꞌiꞌ a saa, na, tao basaꞌ e fo mitudꞌu Lamatualain nara malolen.
32 Give no offense, either to Jews or to Greeks or to the Church of God
Afiꞌ tao miꞌisususaꞌ atahori Yahudi, do, atahori nda Yahudi sa, do, Kristus atahori mamahere nara.
33 —even as I try to please everyone in every way, not seeking my own profit but that of the many, that they may be saved.
Tao onaꞌ au sie. Huu au sobꞌa-sobꞌa tao umuhoꞌo se sia basa dalaꞌ ra. Au sobꞌa tao maloleꞌ nda fee neu akaꞌ ao ngga sa. Te au sobꞌa tao maloleꞌ fee neu basa se, fo ara hambu masoi-masodꞌaꞌ boe.
