Psalms 91

1 The praise of a canticle for David. He that dwelleth in the aid of the most High, shall abide under the protection of the God of Jacob.

மகா உன்னதமானவரின் அடைக்கலத்தில் வாழ்கிறவன், எல்லாம் வல்லவரின் நிழலில் இளைப்பாறுவான்.

2 He shall say to the Lord: Thou art my protector, and my refuge: my God, in him will I trust.

நான் யெகோவாவைக் குறித்து, “அவரே என் புகலிடம், என் கோட்டை, நான் நம்பியிருக்கிற என் இறைவன்” என்று சொல்வேன்.

3 For he hath delivered me from the snare of the hunters: and from the sharp word.

நிச்சயமாகவே அவர் உன்னை வேடனுடைய கண்ணியிலிருந்தும், கொன்றழிக்கும் கொள்ளைநோயிலிருந்தும் தப்புவிப்பார்.

4 He will overshadow thee with his shoulders: and under his wings thou shalt trust.

யெகோவா தமது சிறகுகளால் உன்னை மூடுவார்; அவருடைய சிறகுகளின் கீழே நீ புகலிடம் காண்பாய்; அவருடைய சத்தியம் உனது கேடயமும் கவசமுமாயிருக்கும்.

5 His truth shall compass thee with a shield: thou shalt not be afraid of the terror of the night.

நீ இரவின் பயங்கரத்திற்கும், பகலில் பறக்கும் அம்புக்கும் பயப்படாதிருப்பாய்.

6 Of the arrow that flieth in the day, of the business that walketh about in the dark: of invasion, or of the noonday devil.

இருளில் பின்தொடரும் கொள்ளைநோய்க்கும், நடுப்பகலில் பாழாக்கும் கொடிய வாதைக்கும் நீ பயப்படாதிருப்பாய்.

7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand: but it shall not come nigh thee.

உன் பக்கத்தில் ஆயிரம்பேரும், உன் வலதுபக்கத்தில் பத்தாயிரம்பேரும் வீழ்ந்தாலும், அது உன்னை நெருங்காது.

8 But thou shalt consider with thy eyes: and shalt see the reward of the wicked.

உன் கண்களால் மட்டுமே நீ அதைப் பார்த்து, கொடியவர்களுக்கு வரும் தண்டனையைக் காண்பாய்.

9 Because thou, O Lord, art my hope: thou hast made the most High thy refuge.

“யெகோவா எனக்குப் புகலிடம்” என்று நீ சொல்வாயானால், மகா உன்னதமானவரை உனது வாழ்விடமாகக் கொள்வாயானால்,

10 There shall no evil come to thee: nor shall the scourge come near thy dwelling.

அப்பொழுது ஒரு தீங்கும் உன்மேல் வராது; கொள்ளைநோய் உன் கூடாரத்தை நெருங்காது.

11 For he hath given his angels charge over thee; to keep thee in all thy ways.

அவர் உன் வழிகளிலெல்லாம் உன்னைக் காக்கும்படி, உன்னைக்குறித்து தமது தூதர்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிடுவார்;

12 In their hands they shall bear thee up: lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

உன் பாதம் கல்லில் மோதாதபடி, அவர்கள் உன்னைத் தங்கள் கரங்களில் தாங்கிக்கொள்வார்கள்.

13 Thou shalt walk upon the asp and the basilisk: and thou shalt trample under foot the lion and the dragon.

நீ சிங்கத்தின்மேலும் விரியன்பாம்பின்மேலும் நடப்பாய்; இளஞ்சிங்கத்தையும் பாம்பையும் மிதிப்பாய்.

14 Because he hoped in me I will deliver him: I will protect him because he hath known my name.

யெகோவா இப்படியாக சொல்கிறார்: “அவன் என்னை நேசிக்கிறபடியால், நான் அவனை விடுவிப்பேன்; அவன் என் பெயரை அறிந்திருக்கிறபடியால், நான் அவனைப் பாதுகாப்பேன்.

15 He shall cry to me, and I will hear him: I am with him in tribulation, I will deliver him, and I will glorify him.

அவன் என்னை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிடுவான், நான் அவனுக்குப் பதில் கொடுப்பேன்; துன்பத்தில் நான் அவனோடிருந்து, அவனை விடுவித்து, அவனைக் கனப்படுத்துவேன்.

16 I will fill him with length of days; and I will shew him my salvation.

நீண்ட ஆயுளால் நான் அவனைத் திருப்தியாக்கி, என் இரட்சிப்பை அவனுக்குக் காண்பிப்பேன்.”
