Psalms 5

1 Unto the end, for her that obtaineth the inheritance. A psalm of David. Give ear, O Lord, to my words, understand my cry.

Para el músico principal, con las flautas. Un salmo de David. Presta atención a mis palabras, Yahvé. Considera mi meditación.

2 Hearken to the voice of my prayer, O my King and my God.

Escucha la voz de mi clamor, mi Rey y mi Dios, porque te ruego.

3 For to thee will I pray: O Lord, in the morning thou shalt hear my voice.

Yahvé, por la mañana escucharás mi voz. Por la mañana te expondré mis peticiones, y velaré expectante.

4 In the morning I will stand before thee, and will see: because thou art not a God that willest iniquity.

Porque no eres un Dios que se complace en la maldad. El mal no puede vivir contigo.

5 Neither shall the wicked dwell near thee: nor shall the unjust abide before thy eyes.

El arrogante no se mantendrá ante tus ojos. Odias a todos los obreros de la iniquidad.

6 Thou hatest all the workers of iniquity: Thou wilt destroy all that speak a lie. The bloody and the deceitful man the Lord will abhor.

Destruirás a los que dicen mentiras. Yahvé aborrece al hombre sanguinario y engañoso.

7 But as for me in the multitude of thy mercy, I will come into thy house; I will worship towards thy holy temple, in thy fear.

Pero en cuanto a mí, en la abundancia de tu bondad amorosa entraré en tu casa. Me inclinaré hacia tu santo templo en reverencia a ti.

8 Conduct me, O Lord, in thy justice: because of my enemies, direct my way in thy sight.

Guíame, Yahvé, en tu justicia a causa de mis enemigos. Haz tu camino directo ante mi cara.

9 For there is no truth in their mouth; their heart is vain.

Porque no hay fidelidad en su boca. Su corazón es la destrucción. Su garganta es una tumba abierta. Halagan con su lengua.

10 Their throat is an open sepulchre: they dealt deceitfully with their tongues: judge them, O God. Let them fall from their devices: according to the multitude of their wickedness cast them out: for they have provoked thee, O Lord.

Hazlos culpables, Dios. Que caigan por sus propios consejos. Échalos en la multitud de sus transgresiones, porque se han rebelado contra ti.

11 But let all them be glad that hope in thee: they shall rejoice for ever, and thou shalt dwell in them. And all they that love thy name shall glory in thee:

Pero que se alegren todos los que se refugian en ti. Que siempre griten de alegría, porque tú los defiendes. Que también los que aman tu nombre se alegren en ti.

12 For thou wilt bless the just. O Lord, thou hast crowned us, as with a shield of thy good will.

Porque bendecirás a los justos. Yahvé, lo rodearás de favor como de un escudo.
