Psalms 45

1 Unto the end, for them that shall be changed, for the sons of Core, for understanding. A canticle for the Beloved. My heart hath uttered a good word I speak my works to the king; My tongue is the pen of a scrivener that writeth swiftly.

O meu coração ferve com palavras boas, fallo do que tenho feito no tocante ao Rei: a minha lingua é a penna de um dextro escriptor.

2 Thou art beautiful above the sons of men: grace is poured abroad in thy lips; therefore hath God blessed thee for ever.

Tu és mais formoso do que os filhos dos homens; a graça se derramou em teus labios; portanto Deus te abençoou para sempre.

3 Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O thou most mighty.

Cinge a tua espada á coxa, ó Valente, com a tua gloria e a tua magestade.

4 With thy comeliness and thy beauty set out, proceed prosperously, and reign. Because of truth and meekness and justice: and thy right hand shall conduct thee wonderfully.

E n'este teu esplendor cavalga prosperamente, por causa da verdade, da mansidão e da justiça; e a tua dextra te ensinará coisas terriveis.

5 Thy arrows are sharp: under thee shall people fall, into the hearts of the king’s enemies.

As tuas frechas são agudas no coração dos inimigos do Rei, e por ellas os povos cairam debaixo de ti

6 Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a sceptre of uprightness.

O teu throno, ó Deus, é eterno e perpetuo; o sceptro do teu reino é um sceptro d'equidade.

7 Thou hast loved justice, and hated iniquity: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

Tu amas a justiça e aborreces a impiedade; portanto, Deus, o teu Deus, te ungiu com oleo de alegria, mais do que a teus companheiros.

8 Myrrh and stacte and cassia perfume thy garments, from the ivory houses: out of which

Todos os teus vestidos cheiram a myrrha, e aloes e cassia, desde os palacios de marfim de onde te alegram.

9 The daughters of kings have delighted thee in thy glory. The queen stood on thy right hand, in gilded clothing; surrounded with variety.

As filhas dos reis estavam entre as tuas illustres donzellas; á tua direita estava a rainha ornada de finissimo oiro de Ophir.

10 Hearken, O daughter, and see, and incline thy ear: and forget thy people and thy father’s house.

Ouve, filha, e olha, e inclina os teus ouvidos; esquece-te do teu povo e da casa do teu pae.

11 And the king shall greatly desire thy beauty; for he is the Lord thy God, and him they shall adore.

Então o rei se afeiçoará da tua formosura, pois elle é teu Senhor; adora-o.

12 And the daughters of Tyre with gifts, yea, all the rich among the people, shall entreat thy countenance.

E a filha de Tyro estará ali com presentes; os ricos do povo supplicarão o teu favor.

13 All the glory of the king’s daughter is within in golden borders,

A filha do rei é toda illustre por dentro: o seu vestido é de oiro engastado.

14 Clothed round about with varieties. After her shall virgins be brought to the king: her neighbours shall be brought to thee.

Leval-a-hão ao rei com vestidos bordados; as virgens que a acompanham a trarão a ti.

15 They shall be brought with gladness and rejoicing: they shall be brought into the temple of the king.

Com alegria e regozijo as trarão: ellas entrarão no palacio do rei.

16 Instead of thy fathers, sons are born to thee: thou shalt make them princes over all the earth.

Em logar de teus paes serão teus filhos; d'elles farás principes sobre toda a terra.

17 They shall remember thy name throughout all generations. Therefore shall people praise thee for ever; yea, for ever and ever.

Farei lembrado o teu nome de geração em geração; pelo que os povos te louvarão eternamente.
