Psalms 29

1 A psalm for David, at the finishing of the tabernacle. Bring to the Lord, O ye children of God: bring to the Lord the offspring of rams.

Psaume de David. Donnez à Yahweh, fils de Dieu, donnez à Yahweh gloire et puissance!

2 Bring to the Lord glory and honour: bring to the Lord glory to his name: adore ye the Lord in his holy court.

Donnez à Yahweh la gloire de son nom! Adorez Yahweh dans de saints ornements.

3 The voice of the Lord is upon the waters; the God of majesty hath thundered, The Lord is upon many waters.

La voix de Yahweh gronde au-dessus des eaux, le Dieu de la gloire tonne, Yahweh est sur les grandes eaux.

4 The voice of the Lord is in power; the voice of the Lord in magnificence.

La voix de Yahweh est puissante, la voix de Yahweh est majestueuse.

5 The voice of the Lord breaketh the cedars: yea, the Lord shall break the cedars of Libanus.

La voix de Yahweh brise les cèdres, Yahweh brise les cèdres du Liban;

6 And shall reduce them to pieces, as a calf of Libanus, and as the beloved son of unicorns.

il les fait bondir comme un jeune taureau, le Liban et le Sirion comme le petit du buffle.

7 The voice of the Lord divideth the flame of fire:

La voix de Yahweh fait jaillir des flammes de feu,

8 The voice of the Lord shaketh the desert: and the Lord shall shake the desert of Cades.

la voix de Yahweh ébranle le désert, Yahweh ébranle le désert de Cadès.

9 The voice of the Lord prepareth the stags: and he will discover the thick woods: and in his temple all shall speak his glory.

La voix de Yahweh fait enfanter les biches, elle dépouille les forêts de leur feuillage, et dans son temple tout dit: « Gloire! »

10 The Lord maketh the flood to dwell: and the Lord shall sit king for ever.

Yahweh, au déluge, est assis sur son trône, Yahweh siège sur son trône, roi pour l’éternité.

11 The Lord will give strength to his people: the Lord will bless his people with peace.

Yahweh donnera la force à son peuple; Yahweh bénira son peuple en lui donnant la paix.
