Psalms 131

1 Lord, my heart is not exalted: nor are my eyes lofty. Neither have I walked in great matters, nor in wonderful things above me.

Cantico di Maalot, di Davide SIGNORE, il mio cuore non è elevato, e gli occhi miei non sono altieri; E non cammino in cose più grandi, E più ardue che a me non si conviene,

2 If I was not humbly minded, but exalted my soul: As a child that is weaned is towards his mother, so reward in my soul.

Se non ho composta ed acchetata l'anima mia, A guisa di fanciullo novellamente spoppato appresso sua madre; [Se] l'anima mia [non è stata] in me, A guisa di fanciullo novellamente spoppato.

3 Let Israel hope in the Lord, from henceforth now and for ever.

Israele speri nel Signore Da ora in eterno.
