< Psalms 101 >

1 A psalm for David himself. Mercy and judgment I will sing to thee, O Lord: I will sing,
Ko e Saame ʻa Tevita. Te u hiva ʻaki ʻae ʻaloʻofa mo e fakamaau: ‌ʻE Sihova, te u hiva kiate koe.
2 And I will understand in the unspotted way, when thou shalt come to me. I walked in the innocence of my heart, in the midst of my house.
Te u fai fakapotopoto ʻi he hala haohaoa. Te ke hāʻele mai ʻafē kiate au? Te u ʻeveʻeva ʻi hoku fale ʻi he loto haohaoa.
3 I did not set before my eyes any unjust thing: I hated the workers of iniquities.
‌ʻE ʻikai te u tuku ha meʻa kovi ʻi hoku ʻao: ʻoku ou fehiʻa ki he ngāue ʻanautolu kuo nau afe; ʻE ʻikai pipiki ia kiate au.
4 The perverse heart did not cleave to me: and the malignant, that turned aside from me, I would not know.
‌ʻE ʻalu ʻiate au ʻaia ʻoku loto kovi: ʻE ʻikai te u ʻiloʻi ha taha ʻoku kovi.
5 The man that in private detracted his neighbour, him did I persecute. With him that had a proud eye, and an unsatiable heart, I would not eat.
Ko ia ʻoku fakakovi fakafufū hono kaungāʻapi, te u tuʻusi ia: ko ia ʻoku fiematamuʻa mo loto laukau ʻe ʻikai te u kātakiʻi.
6 My eyes were upon the faithful of the earth, to sit with me: the man that walked in the perfect way, he served me.
‌ʻE sio maʻu hoku mata ki he kakai angatonu ʻi he fonua, koeʻuhi ke mau nonofo mo au: ko ia ʻoku ʻeveʻeva ʻi he hala haohaoa, ko ia ia ʻe tauhi au.
7 He that worketh pride shall not dwell in the midst of my house: he that speaketh unjust things did not prosper before my eyes.
Ko ia ʻoku ne fai kākā ʻe ʻikai nofo ia ʻi hoku fale: ko ia ʻoku faʻa loi ʻe ʻikai te ne nofo ʻi hoku ʻao.
8 In the morning I put to death all the wicked of the land: that I might cut off all the workers of iniquity from the city of the Lord.
‌ʻE vave ʻeku fakaʻauha ʻae kau angahala kotoa pē ʻoe fonua; koeʻuhi ke u tuʻusi ʻae kakai fai kovi kotoa pē mei he kolo ʻa Sihova.
