< Micah 5 >

1 Now shalt thou be laid waste, O daughter of the robber: they have laid siege against us, with a rod shall they strike the cheek of the judge of Israel.
Ko eni, ke ke tānaki fakataha koe ʻi he ngaahi matatau, ʻe ʻofefine ʻoe ngaahi matatau: kuo ne fakanofo mai ʻae tau kiate kitautolu: te nau taaʻi ʻae fakamaau ʻo ʻIsileli, ʻaki ʻae meʻa tā ʻi hono kouʻahe.
2 AND THOU, BETHLEHEM Ephrata, art a little one among the thousands of Juda: out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be the ruler in Israel: and his going forth is from the beginning, from the days of eternity.
Ka ko koe Petelihema Efalata, neongo ʻoku ke siʻi hifo ʻi he ngaahi toko afe ʻo Siuta, ka ʻe haʻu ia meiate koe kiate au, ʻaia ʻe pule ʻi ʻIsileli, ʻaia kuo talu mei muʻa ʻene hāʻele atu, mei he kamataʻanga.”
3 Therefore will he give them up even till the time wherein she that travaileth shall bring forth: and the remnant of his brethren shall be converted to the children of Israel.
Ko ia te ne tukuange ʻakinautolu, kaeʻoua ke hoko ʻae kuonga ʻe fāʻele ʻaia naʻe langā: pea ʻe toki foki atu ki he fānau ʻa ʻIsileli ʻae toe ʻo hono kāinga.
4 And he shall stand, and feed in the strength of the Lord, in the height of the name of the Lord his God: and they shall be converted, for now shall he be magnified even to the ends of the earth.
Pea te ne tuʻu ʻo kai ʻi he mālohi ʻo Sihova, ʻi he nāunau ʻoe huafa ʻo Sihova ko hono ʻOtua; pea te nau nofomaʻu: koeʻuhi ʻe toki hoko ia ʻo lahi, ʻo aʻu ki he ngaahi ngataʻanga ʻo māmani.
5 And this man shall be our peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land, and when he shall set his foot in our houses: and we shall raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men.
Pea ko e tangata ni ʻe hoko ko e melino; ʻoka hoko mai ʻae ʻAsilia ki hotau fonua, pea ʻoka ne ka laka ia ʻi hotau ngaahi fale fakaʻeiʻeiki, te tau fokotuʻu kiate ia ʻae kau tauhi sipi ʻe toko fitu, mo e kau tangata tuʻu ki muʻa ʻe toko valu.
6 And they shall feed the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nemrod with the spears thereof: and he shall deliver us from the Assyrian, when he shall come into our land, and when he shall tread in our borders.
7 And the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many peoples as a dew from the Lord, and as drops upon the grass, which waiteth not for man, nor tarrieth for the children of men.
Pea ko e toenga ʻo Sēkope ʻe ʻi he lotolotonga ʻoe ngaahi kakai, hangē ko e hahau meia Sihova, hangē ko e ʻuha ʻi he mohuku, ʻaia ʻoku ʻikai ke tatali ki he tangata, pe tupu koeʻuhi ko e ngaahi foha ʻoe tangata.
8 And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the Gentiles in the midst of many peoples as a lion among the beasts of the forests, and as a young lion among the flocks of sheep: who when he shall go through and tread down, and take, there is none to deliver.
Pea ko e toenga ʻo Sēkope ʻe ʻi he lotolotonga ʻoe kau Senitaile, ʻi he haʻohaʻonga ʻoe ngaahi kakai, ʻo hangē ha laione ʻi he lotolotonga ʻoe fanga manu ʻoe vao ʻakau, hangē ha laione mui ʻi he lotolotonga ʻoe fanga sipi; ʻaia, ka ne ka laka atu ia ʻoku ne malaki hifo mo haehae foki, pea ʻe ʻikai ha taha ʻe fakahaofi.
9 Thy hand shall be lifted up over thy enemies, and all thy enemies shall be cut off.
‌ʻE hiki hake ho nima ki ho ngaahi fili, pea ʻe motuhi ho kau fili kotoa pē.
10 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord, that I will take away thy horses out of the midst of thee, and will destroy thy chariots.
‌ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova, “ʻE hoko ʻo pehē ʻi he ʻaho ko ia, te u motuhi hoʻo fanga hoosi mei ho lotolotonga, pea te u maumauʻi hoʻo ngaahi saliote.
11 And I will destroy the cities of thy land, and will throw down all thy strong holds,
Pea te u motuhi ʻae ngaahi kolo ʻo ho fonua, mo holoki hifo ho ngaahi potu mālohi kotoa pē:
12 and I will take away sorceries out of thy hand, and there shall be no divinations in thee.
Pea te u motuhi mei ho nima ʻae kau fie mana loi, pea ʻe ʻikai te ke kei maʻu ʻae kau kikite loi:
13 And I will destroy thy graven things, and thy statues out of the midst of thee: and thou shalt no more adore the works of thy hands.
14 And I will pluck up thy groves out of the midst of thee: and will crush thy cities.
Pea te u taʻaki mei ho lotolotonga ʻae ngaahi vao tapu: ʻe pehē ʻeku fakaʻauha ho ngaahi kolo.
15 And I will execute vengeance in wrath and in indignation among all the nations that have not given ear.
Pea te u fai ʻae tautea ʻi he ʻita mo e lili ki he hiteni, ʻi he anga ko ia ʻoku teʻeki ai te nau fanongo ai.”
