Mark 9
1 And he said to them: Amen I say to you, that there are some of them that stand here, who shall not taste death, till they see the kingdom of God coming in power.
| ישוע המשיך לדבר אל תלמידיו:”אני אומר לכם, שאחדים מכם העומדים כאן היום יזכו לחיות ולראות את מלכות אלוהים באה בגבורה!“ |
2 And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter and James and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves, and was transfigured before them.
| כעבור שישה ימים לקח ישוע את פטרוס, יעקב ויוחנן ועלה איתם על פסגת הר גבוה. רק ארבעתם היו שם. לפתע זרחו פניו של ישוע בזוהר נפלא; |
3 And his garments became shining and exceeding white as snow, so as no fuller upon earth can make white.
| בגדיו הבריקו והלבינו עד מאוד. |
4 And there appeared to them Elias with Moses; and they were talking with Jesus.
| והנה הופיעו אליהו הנביא ומשה רבנו והחלו לדבר עם ישוע. |
5 And Peter answering, said to Jesus: Rabbi, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles, one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
| ”רבי, כמה טוב שאנחנו כאן!“קרא פטרוס.”אנחנו ניבנה כאן שלוש סוכות לכבוד – לך, למשה ולאליהו!“ |
6 For he knew not what he said: for they were struck with fear.
| פטרוס לא ידע מה לומר, כי התלמידים היו מבוהלים וחסרי מילים. |
7 And there was a cloud overshadowing them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying: This is my most beloved son; hear ye him.
| בעודו מדבר סכך עליהם ענן, ומתוכו קרא קול:”זהו בני האהוב, שמעו בקולו!“ |
8 And immediately looking about, they saw no man any more, but Jesus only with them.
| התלמידים הביטו סביבם וגילו שאליהו ומשה נעלמו, וישוע לבדו נותר עמם. |
9 And as they came down from the mountain, he charged them not to tell any man what things they had seen, till the Son of man shall be risen again from the dead.
| כאשר ירדו מההר ישוע ציווה עליהם שלא יספרו לאיש את מה שראו, עד לאחר שיקום מן המתים. |
10 And they kept the word to themselves; questioning together what that should mean, when he shall be risen from the dead.
| השלושה לא גילו את הדבר לאיש, אולם שוחחו על כך בינם לבין עצמם, ולעיתים קרובות תהו למה התכוון ישוע כשאמר שיקום מן המתים. |
11 And they asked him, saying: Why then do the Pharisees and scribes say that Elias must come first?
| התלמידים שאלו את ישוע מדוע הסופרים אומרים שאליהו הנביא צריך לבוא תחילה (לפני המשיח). |
12 Who answering, said to them: Elias, when he shall come first, shall restore all things; and as it is written of the Son of man, that he must suffer many things and be despised.
| ישוע השיב שאליהו באמת צריך לבוא קודם וישליט סדר בכל, ושלמעשה אליהו כבר בא ואותם האנשים נהגו בו באופן מחפיר – בדיוק כפי שניבאו הנביאים.”למה אתם חושבים שהתכוונו הנביאים כשניבאו שהמשיח יסבול עינויים וחרפה?“שאל. |
13 But I say to you, that Elias also is come, (and they have done to him whatsoever they would, ) as it is written of him.
14 And coming to his disciples, he saw a great multitude about them, and the scribes disputing with them.
| למרגלות ההר הם פגשו את תשעת התלמידים האחרים, מוקפים בקהל רב ומתווכחים עם כמה סופרים. |
15 And presently all the people seeing Jesus, were astonished and struck with fear; and running to him, they saluted him.
| הקהל הביט בישוע בכבוד ובהערצה, וכולם רצו לקבל את פניו. |
16 And he asked them: What do you question about among you?
| ”על מה אתם מתווכחים?“שאל ישוע. |
17 And one of the multitude, answering, said: Master, I have brought my son to thee, having a dumb spirit.
| איש מהקהל השיב:”רבי, הבאתי אליך את בני שתרפא אותו; נכנס בו שד המונע ממנו לדבר. |
18 Who, wheresoever he taketh him, dasheth him, and he foameth, and gnasheth with the teeth, and pineth away; and I spoke to thy disciples to cast him out, and they could not.
| בכל פעם שהשד תוקף את הילד הוא משליך אותו על הרצפה, והילד האומלל מזיל ריר מפיו, שיניו נוקשות וכוחותיו עוזבים אותו. ביקשתי מתלמידיך לגרש את השד, אך הם לא יכלו לעשות זאת.“ |
19 Who answering them, said: O incredulous generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me.
| ”הו, דור חסר־אמונה, “אמר ישוע,”עד מתי יהיה עלי לסבול אתכם? הביאו אלי את הילד.“ |
20 And they brought him. And when he had seen him, immediately the spirit troubled him; and being thrown down upon the ground, he rolled about foaming.
| הם הביאו אליו את הילד, אך ברגע שראה השד את ישוע הוא תקף את הילד, הפיל אותו על הרצפה וריר נזל מפיו. |
21 And he asked his father: How long time is it since this hath happened unto him? But he said: From his infancy:
| ”מתי החלו ההתקפות האלה?“שאל ישוע.”בהיותו ילד קטן“, השיב האב. |
22 And oftentimes hath he cast him into the fire and into waters to destroy him. But if thou canst do any thing, help us, having compassion on us.
| ”לעיתים קרובות מנסה השד לדחוף את הילד לתוך אש או לתוך מים, כדי להרוג אותו. אנא, רחם עלינו ועזור לנו, אם אתה יכול.“ |
23 And Jesus saith to him: If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
| ”אם אני יכול?“אמר ישוע.”אם אתה מאמין, הכול אפשרי ובר ביצוע!“ |
24 And immediately the father of the boy crying out, with tears said: I do believe, Lord: help my unbelief.
| ”אני מאמין! אנא עזור לי וחזק את אמונתי!“התחנן האב בבכי. |
25 And when Jesus saw the multitude running together, he threatened the unclean spirit, saying to him: Deaf and dumb spirit, I command thee, go out of him; and enter not any more into him.
| כשראה ישוע שהקהל הולך ורב, נזף בשד ופקד:”שד חרש ואילם, אני מצווה עליך לעזוב את הילד הזה ולא לשוב אליו לעולם!“ |
26 And crying out, and greatly tearing him, he went out of him, and he became as dead, so that many said: He is dead.
| השד פרץ בצעקה מפחידה ושוב השליך את הילד על הרצפה ויצא ממנו. הוא נראה כגופה לכן עבר לחש בקהל: הילד מת. |
27 But Jesus taking him by the hand, lifted him up; and he arose.
| אולם ישוע אחז בידו ועזר לו לעמוד על רגליו, והילד הזדקף – בריא לגמרי. |
28 And when he was come into the house, his disciples secretly asked him: Why could not we cast him out?
| כאשר נשאר ישוע בבית עם תלמידיו לבדם, הם שאלו אותו:”מדוע לא יכולנו אנחנו לגרש את השד?“ |
29 And he said to them: This kind can go out by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.
| ”זהו מקרה מיוחד שדורש תפילה וצום“, השיב ישוע. |
30 And departing from thence, they passed through Galilee, and he would not that any man should know it.
| הם עזבו את האזור ההוא ועברו דרך הגליל. ישוע לא סיפר לאיש על בואם, כי רצה לבלות זמן מה עם תלמידיו ולהכינם לקראת מה שעומד לקרות לו.”בן־האדם עומד להימסר לידי אויביו“, פתח ישוע.”הם יהרגו אותו, אולם לאחר שלושה ימים יקום לתחייה.“ |
31 And he taught his disciple, and said to them: The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise again the third day.
32 But they understood not the word, and they were afraid to ask him.
| התלמידים לא הבינו למה התכוון, אך חששו לשאול אותו. |
33 And they came to Capharnaum. And when they were in the house, he asked them: What did you treat of in the way?
| כשהגיעו לכפר־נחום ונכנסו לבית מארחיהם שאל ישוע את תלמידיו:”על מה התווכחתם בדרך?“ |
34 But they held their peace, for in the way they had disputed among themselves, which of them should be the greatest.
| הם התביישו לספר לו, משום שהתווכחו מי החשוב ביניהם. |
35 And sitting down, he called the twelve, and saith to them: If any man desire to be first, he shall be the last of all, and the minister of all.
| ישוע התיישב, קרא אליו את התלמידים ואמר:”מי שרוצה להיות הראשון צריך להיות האחרון – עליו לשרת את כולם!“ |
36 And taking a child, he set him in the midst of them. Whom when he had embraced, he saith to them:
| ישוע קרא אליו ילד קטן והציג אותו לפניהם. הוא חיבק את הילד והכריז: |
37 Whosoever shall receive one such child as this in my name, receiveth me. And whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me.
| ”כל המקבל ילד קטן כזה בשמי – כאילו מקבל אותי; וכל המקבל אותי – מקבל את אבי אשר שלח אותי.“ |
38 John answered him, saying: Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, who followeth not us, and we forbade him.
| יוחנן תלמידו פנה אליו ואמר:”רבי, ראינו איש שמגרש שדים בשמך ואמרנו לו לחדול מכך, כי אין הוא שייך לקבוצתנו.“ |
39 But Jesus said: Do not forbid him. For there is no man that doth a miracle in my name, and can soon speak ill of me.
| ”אל תמנעו ממנו, “אמר להם ישוע,”כי מי שעושה דברים כאלה בשמי לא ידבר עלי רעות. |
40 For he that is not against you, is for you.
| כל מי שאינו נגדנו הוא לצידנו. |
41 For whosoever shall give you to drink a cup of water in my name, because you belong to Christ: amen I say to you, he shall not lose his reward.
| מי שייתן לכם אפילו כוס מים בלבד, משום שאתם שלי, אני מבטיח לכם שיקבל את שכרו. |
42 And whosoever shall scandalize one of these little ones that believe in me; it were better for him that a millstone were hanged around his neck, and he were cast into the sea.
| אבל אוי למי שיגרום לילד המאמין בי לאבד את אמונתו! לאדם כזה מוטב שיקשרו אבן כבדה לצווארו ויטביעו אותו בים. |
43 And if thy hand scandalize thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life, maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into unquenchable fire: (Geenna g1067)
| ”אם ידך גורמת לך לחטוא – קצץ אותה! מוטב לחיות עם יד אחת בלבד ולחיות חיי נצח, מאשר ללכת לגיהינום, אל האש שלא תכבה, עם שתי ידיים. (Geenna g1067) |
44 Where there worm dieth not, and the fire is not extinguished.
45 And if thy foot scandalize thee, cut it off. It is better for thee to enter lame into life everlasting, than having two feet, to be cast into the hell of unquenchable fire: (Geenna g1067)
| אם רגלך גורמת לך לחטוא – כרות אותה! מוטב להיות קיטע ולחיות חיי נצח, מאשר להיות בעל שתי רגליים שמוליכות אותך לגיהינום. (Geenna g1067) |
46 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not extinguished.
| שם לא תמות התולעת (שתכרסם בהם), והאש לא תכבה לעולם. |
47 And if thy eye scandalize thee, pluck it out. It is better for thee with one eye to enter into the kingdom of God, than having two eyes to be cast into the hell of fire: (Geenna g1067)
| ”אם עינך גורמת לך לחטוא – עקור אותה! מוטב להיכנס למלכות אלוהים עיוור למחצה, מאשר להישאר בעל שתי עיניים בגיהינום, (Geenna g1067) |
48 Where the worm dieth not, and the fire is not extinguished.
| מקום שבו התולעת לא תמות לעולם, והאש לא תכבה לעולם. |
49 For every one shall be salted with fire: and every victim shall be salted with salt.
| כל אדם יומלח באש. המלח הוא טוב, אך אם הוא מאבד את מליחותו הוא חסר תועלת; כיצד תוכלו להשיב לו את הטעם? על כן שימרו על המלח הנמצא בקרבכם וחיו בשלום איש עם רעהו.“ |
50 Salt is good. But if the salt became unsavoury; wherewith will you season it? Have salt in you, and have peace among you.
