< Hebrews 7 >

1 For this Melchisedech was king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him:
Hae Melkhizedik loe Salem siangpahrang ah oh moe, kasang koek Sithaw ih qaima ah oh, siangpahrangnawk hum pacoengah kamlaem Abraham to anih mah hnuk naah tahamhoihaih a paek;
2 To whom also Abraham divided the tithes of all: who first indeed by interpretation, is king of justice: and then also king of Salem, that is, king of peace:
Abraham mah anih khaeah hato thungah maeto paek; hmaloe koekah anih ih ahmin thuih koehhaih loe toenghaih Siangpahrang, tiah oh, to pacoengah Salem Siangpahrang loe angdaehhaih Siangpahrang, tiah doeh kawk ih to oh;
3 Without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but likened unto the Son of God, continueth a priest for ever.
amno kaom ai, ampa kaom ai, acaeng anghumhaih kawng doeh katawn ai, amtonghaih ni kaom ai, kaboeng thaih hinghaih doeh katawn ai; Sithaw Capa baktih toengah, dungzan qaima ah oh poe.
4 Now consider how great this man is, to whom also Abraham the patriarch gave tithes out of the principal things.
Hae kami loe kawkruk maw len, tito poek oh, Cunkung Abraham mah mataeng doeh a lak ih hmuennawk hato thungah maeto anih khaeah paek.
5 And indeed they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is to say, of their brethren: though they themselves also came out of the loins of Abraham.
Qaima toksah Levi caanawk loe Abraham atii hoi tacawt kami ah oh o, kaminawk loe angmacae ih nawkamya ah oh o; toe kaalok baktiah nihcae khae hoi hato thungah maeto lakthaihaih akaa to tawnh o.
6 But he, whose pedigree is not numbered among them, received tithes of Abraham, and blessed him that had the promises.
Toe Anih loe Levi caa ah om ai, toe Abraham khae hoiah hato thungah maeto a lak moe, lokkamhaih kahnuh Abraham to tahamhoihaih paek.
7 And without all contradiction, that which is less, is blessed by the better.
Palunghaenghaih tawn ai, kalen kue mah ni kathoeng kue hanah tahamhoihaih to paek.
8 And here indeed, men that die, receive thithes: but there he hath witness, that he liveth.
Hae ah loe kadueh thaih kaminawk mah hato thungah maeto lak o; ho ah loe Anih loe hing, tiah thuih ih Melkhizedik mah ni hato thungah maeto lak.
9 And (as it may be said) even Levi who received tithes, paid tithes in Abraham:
Hato thungah maeto la kami Levi loe Abraham rang hoiah hato thungah maeto paek, tiah thuih han oh.
10 For he was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchisedech met him.
Abraham mah Melkhizedik to hnuk naah, Levi loe ampa ih takpum thungah ni oh vop.
11 If then perfection was by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law, ) what further need was there that another priest should rise according to the order of Melchisedech, and not be called according to the order of Aaron?
Levinawk mah qaima toksakhaih rang hoiah akoephaih hnu o nahaeloe, (anih khae hoiah ni kaminawk mah kaalok to hnuk o) tipongah Aaron baktiah kawk ai ah, Melkhizedik baktiah kalah qaima angzoh han angai vop loe?
12 For the priesthood being translated, it is necessary that a translation also be made of the law.
Qaima angthlaeng pongah, kaalok doeh angthlaeng han oh.
13 For he, of whom these things are spoken, is of another tribe, of which no one attended on the altar.
Hae hmuennawk pongah thuih ih Anih loe kalah acaeng kami ah oh, to acaeng thung hoiah loe mi doeh hmaicam ah toksah o vai ai vop.
14 For it is evident that our Lord sprung out of Juda: in which tribe Moses spoke nothing concerning priests.
Aicae Angraeng loe Judah kaminawk thung hoiah ni tacawt, tito amtueng; toe Mosi mah to kaminawk thung hoiah kaom han koi qaima toksakhaih kawng to thui ai.
15 And it is yet far more evident: if according to the similitude of Melchisedech there ariseth another priest,
Melkhizedik baktiah kaom kalah qaima to tacawt nahaeloe, qaima acaeng angthlaeng ving boeh, tito amtueng boeh.
16 Who is made not according to the law of a carnal commandment, but according to the power of an indissoluble life:
Anih loe taksa koehhaih daan baktiah angzo ai, kaboeng kanghmang tha kacak hinghaih hoiah ni angzoh.
17 For he testifieth: Thou art a priest for ever, according to the order of Melchisedech. (aiōn g165)
Nang loe Melkhizedik baktiah, dungzan qaima ah na oh, tiah thuih ih lok to oh. (aiōn g165)
18 There is indeed a setting aside of the former commandment, because of the weakness and unprofitableness thereof:
Kaom hmaloe kaalok loe thazok moe, atho om ai pongah, takhoe ving boeh.
19 (For the law brought nothing to perfection, ) but a bringing in of a better hope, by which we draw nigh to God.
Kaalok mah loe akoephaih tidoeh paek ai, toe kahoih kue oephaih to ohsak, to oephaih rang hoiah ni aicae mah Sithaw khaeah anghnaih o.
20 And inasmuch as it is not without an oath, (for the others indeed were made priests without an oath;
Anih loe lokkamhaih om ai ah qaima tok to sah ai:
21 But this with an oath, by him that said unto him: The Lord hath sworn, and he will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever.) (aiōn g165)

22 By so much is Jesus made a surety of a better testament.
Jesu mah loe kahoih kue kacak lokmaihaih to sak.
23 And the others indeed were made many priests, because by reason of death they were not suffered to continue:
Nihcae loe duekhaih mah kae pongah qaima pop o parai:
24 But this, for that he continueth for ever, hath an everlasting priesthood, (aiōn g165)
toe hae Kami loe hing poe pongah, amkhrai thai ai qaima ah oh. (aiōn g165)
25 Whereby he is able also to save for ever them that come to God by him; always living to make intercession for us.
To pongah Sithaw khaeah angzo kaminawk to Anih rang hoiah pahlong thaih, nihcae han toksak pae hanah Anih loe dungzan ah hing poe.
26 For it was fitting that we should have such a high priest, holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;
To tiah kaom Qaima loe coek koi om ai, ciimcai, amhnong ai, kazae kaminawk thung hoiah amhoe moe, van pongah a sang kue;
27 Who needeth not daily (as the other priests) to offer sacrifices first for his own sins, and then for the people’s: for this he did once, in offering himself.
kalah qaimanawk loe angmacae zaehaih baktih toengah angmah hanah zae angbawnhaih sak hmaloe pacoengah, nithokkruek kaminawk hanah angbawnhaih sak pae han angaih, toe anih loe nithokkruek angbawnhaih sak han angai ai, Anih loe angmah hoi angmah angpaek naah vaito ah a sak king boeh.
28 For the law maketh men priests, who have infirmity: but the word of the oath, which was since the law, the Son who is perfected for evermore. (aiōn g165)
