Genesis 10
1 These are the generations of the sons of Noe: Sem, Cham, and Japheth: and unto them sons were born after the flood.
Ezek pedig nemzetségei Nóé fiainak, Sémnek, Chomnak és Jefesznek: születtek fiaik az özönvíz után.
2 The sons of Japheth: Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Thubal, and Mosoch, and Thiras.
Jefesz fiai: Gómer, Mágóg, Módáj, Jóvon és Tuvol, Mesech és Tirosz.
3 And the sons of Gomer: Ascenez and Riphath and Thogorma.
Gómer fiai pedig: Áskenáz, Rifász és Tógármó.
4 And the sons of Javan: Elisa and Tharsis, Cetthim and Dodanim.
Jóvon fiai: Elisó és Társis, Kittim és Dodónim.
5 By these were divided the islands of the Gentiles in their lands, every one according to his tongue and their families in their nations.
Ezektől oszoltak el a szigeti népek, országaikban, mindegyik a maga nyelve szerint, családjaik szerint, népeikkel.
6 And the sons of Cham: Chus, and Mesram, and Phuth, and Chanaan.
Chom fiai pedig: Kús, Micráim, Pút és Kánaán.
7 And the sons of Chus: Saba, and Hevila, and Sabatha, and Regma, and Sabatacha. The sons of Regma: Saba and Dadan.
Kús fiai pedig: Szevó, Cháviló, Szávto, Rámo és Szávtechó; Rámo fiai pedig: Sevó és Dedón.
8 Now Chus begot Nemrod: he began to be mighty on the earth.
Kús nemzette Nimródot, ő kezdett el hőssé lenni a földön.
9 And he was a stout hunter before the Lord. Hence came a proverb: Even as Nemrod the stout hunter before the Lord.
Ő hős vadász volt az Örökkévaló színe előtt, azért mondják: Mint Nimród, oly hős vadász az Örökkévaló színe előtt.
10 And the beginning of his kingdom was Babylon, and Arach, and Achad, and Chalanne in the land of Sennaar.
Volt pedig birodalmának elseje Bábel és Erech, Ákkád meg Kálne, Sineor országában.
11 Out of that land came forth Assur, and built Ninive, and the streets of the city, and Chale.
Ezen országból ment ki Ássúrba és építette Ninivét és Rechóvosz-Irt, meg Keláchot,
12 Resen also between Ninive and Chale: this is the great city.
és Reszent, Ninive és Kelách között; az a nagyváros.
13 And Mesraim begot Ludim, and Anamim, and Laabim, Nepthuim,
Micráim pedig nemzette Lúdimót, Ánomimot, Lehovimot és Náftúchimot,
14 And Phetrusim, and Chasluim; of whom came forth the Philistines, and the Capthorim.
és Pászrúszimot, meg gászlúchimot – ahonnan a filiszteusok származtak – és a Kaftórimot.
15 And Chanaan begot Sidon, his firstborn, the Hethite,
Kánaán pedig nemzette Cidónt, elsőszülöttét és Chétet,
16 And the Jebusite, and the Amorrhite, and the Gergesite,
és a Jevúszit, az Emórit, a Girgósit
17 The Hevite and the Aracite: the Sinite,
a Chivvit, az Árkit és a Szinit;
18 And the Aradian, the Samarite, and the Hamathite: and afterwards the families of the Chanaanites were spread abroad.
az Árvódit, a Cemorit és a Chámószit; és azután elszéledtek a Kánaáni családjai.
19 And the limits of Chanaan were from Sidon as one comes to Gerara even to Gaza, until thou enter Sodom and Gomorrha, and Adama, and Seboim even to Lesa.
És Kánaán határa volt Cidóntól, Geror mentén Ázzóig, Szodoma, Gomorrha, Ádmó és Cevóim mentén Lesáig.
20 These are the children of Cham in their kindreds, and tongues, and generations, and lands, and nations.
Ezek Chom fiai családjaik szerint, nyelveik szerint, országaikban, népeikkel.
21 Of Sem also, the father of all the children of Heber, the elder brother of Japheth, sons were born.
És Sémnek is születtek (fiai); ő volt atyja Éver minden fiának, nagyobbik fivére Jefesznek.
22 The sons of Sem: Elam and Assur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram.
Sém fiai: Élom, Ássúr, Árpáchsod, Lúd és Áram.
23 The sons of Aram: Us and Hull, and Gether, and Mess.
Áram fiai pedig: Uc, Chúl, Geszer és Más.
24 But Arphaxad begot Sale, of whom was born Heber.
Árpáchsod pedig nemzette Seláchot és Selách nemzette Évert.
25 And to Heber were born two sons: the name of the one was Phaleg, because in his days the earth was divided: and his brother’s name Jectan.
Évernek pedig született két fia; az egyik neve Peleg, mert az ő napjaiban osztatott föl a föld és testvérének neve: Jokton.
26 Which Jectan begot Elmodad, and Saleph, and Asarmoth, Jare,
És Jokton nemzette Álmódodot és Selefet, Chácármóveszt és Jeráchot;
27 And Aduram, and Uzal, and Decla,
Hádoromot, Uzolt és Diklót;
28 And Ebal, and Abimael, Saba,
Óvolt, Ávimóélt és Sevót;
29 And Ophir, and Hevila, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Jectan.
Ófirt és Chávilót és Jóvovot; mindezek Jokton fiai.
30 And their dwelling was from Messa as we go on as far as Sephar, a mountain in the east.

31 These are the children of Sem according to their kindreds and tongues, and countries in their nations.
Ezek Sém fiai családjaik, nyelveink szerint, az ő országaikban, népeik szerint.
32 These are the families of Noe, according to their peoples and nations. By these were the nations divided on the earth after the flood.
Ezek Nóé fiainak családjai nemzetségeik szerint, az ő népeikkel, és ezektől oszoltak el a népek a földön az özönvíz után.
