Exodus 31

1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

2 Behold, I have called by name Beseleel the son of Uri the son of Hur of the tribe of Juda,

See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah:

3 And I have filled him with the spirit of God, with wisdom and understanding, and knowledge in all manner of work.

And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship,

4 To devise whatsoever may be artificially made of gold, and silver, and brass,

To make beautifully wrought works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass,

5 Of marble, and precious stones, and variety of wood.

And in cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of timber, to work in all manner of workmanship.

6 And I have given him for his companion Ooliab the son of Achisamech of the tribe of Dan. And I have put wisdom in the heart of every skillful man, that they may make all things which I have commanded thee,

And I, behold, I have given with him Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan: and in the hearts of all that are wise hearted I have put wisdom, that they may make all that I have commanded thee;

7 The tabernacle of the covenant, and the ark of the testimony, and the propitiatory that is over it, and all the vessels of the tabernacle,

The tabernacle of the congregation, and the ark of the testimony, and the mercy seat that is upon it, and all the furniture of the tabernacle,

8 And the table and the vessels thereof, the most pure candlestick with the vessels thereof, and the altars of incense,

And the table and its furniture, and the pure lampstand with all its furniture, and the altar of incense,

9 And of holocaust, and all their vessels, the laver with its foot,

And the altar of burnt offering with all its furniture, and the laver and its foot,

10 The holy vestments in the ministry for Aaron the priest, and for his sons, that they may execute their office about the sacred things:

And the cloths of service, and the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons, to minister in the priest’s office,

11 The oil of unction, and the incense of spices in the sanctuary, all things which I have commanded thee, shall they make.

And the anointing oil, and sweet incense for the holy place: according to all that I have commanded thee shall they do.

12 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

13 Speak to the children of Israel, and thou shalt say to them: See that thou keep my sabbath: because it is a sign between me and you in your generations: that you may know that I am the Lord, who sanctify you.

Speak thou also to the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you.

14 Keep you my sabbath: for it is holy unto you: he that shall profane it, shall be put to death: he that shall do my work in it, his soul shall perish out of the midst of his people.

Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy to you: every one that profaneth it shall surely be put to death: for whoever doeth any work in it, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.

15 Six days shall you do work: in the seventh day is the sabbath, the rest holy to the Lord. Every one that shall do any work on this day, shall die.

Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.

16 Let the children of Israel keep the sabbath, and celebrate it in their generations. It is an everlasting covenant

Therefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.

17 Between me and the children of Israel, and a perpetual sign. For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and in the seventh he ceased from work.

It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.

18 And the Lord, when he had ended these words in mount Sinai, gave to Moses two stone tables of testimony, written with the finger of God.

And to Moses, when he finished speaking with him upon mount Sinai, he gave two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.
