2 Kings 16
1 In the seventeenth year of Phacee the son of Romelia reigned Achaz the son of Joatham king of Juda.
೧ರೆಮಲ್ಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಪೆಕಹನ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯ ಹದಿನೇಳನೆಯ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೂದ ರಾಜನಾದ ಯೋತಾಮನ ಮಗ ಆಹಾಜನು ಆಳತೊಡಗಿದನು.
2 Achaz was twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: he did not that which was pleasing in the sight of the Lord his God, as David his father.
೨ಆಹಾಜನು ಪಟ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತು ವರ್ಷದವನಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹದಿನಾರು ವರ್ಷ ಆಳಿದನು. ಇವನು ತನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯವನಾಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ತನ್ನ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕನಾದ ದಾವೀದನ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದನು.
3 But he walked in the way of the kings of Israel: moreover he consecrated also his son, making him pass through the fire according to the idols of the nations: which the Lord destroyed before the children of Israel.
೩ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ, ಅವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸುಗಳ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದುದಲ್ಲದೆ, ಯೆಹೋವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಎದುರಿನಿಂದ ಹೊರಡಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟ ಅನ್ಯಜನಾಂಗಗಳ ಅಸಹ್ಯವಾದ ಪೂಜಾಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸಿ ತನ್ನ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಅಗ್ನಿಗೆ ಬಲಿಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
4 He sacrificed also and burnt incense in the high places and on the hills, and under every green tree.
೪ಪೂಜಾಸ್ಥಳಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ದಿನ್ನೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಹಸಿರು ಮರಗಳ ಕೆಳಗಡೆಯೂ ಯಜ್ಞಧೂಪಗಳನ್ನು ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸಿದನು.
5 Then Basin king of Syria, and Phacee son of Romelia king of Israel came up to Jerusalem to fight: and they besieged Achaz, but were not able to overcome him.
೫ಇವನ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಅರಾಮ್ಯರ ಅರಸನಾದ ರೆಚೀನ್, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಅರಸನೂ, ರೆಮಲ್ಯನ ಮಗನೂ ಆದ ಪೆಕಹ ಎಂಬುವವರು ಒಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಬಂದು ಆಹಾಜನನ್ನು ಸುತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಆದರೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ಜಯಿಸುವುದು ಅವರಿಂದ ಆಗಲಿಲ್ಲ.
6 At that time Rasin king of Syria restored Aila to Syria, and drove the men of Juda out of Aila: and the Edomites came into Aila, and dwelt there unto this day.
೬ಇದೇ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಅರಾಮ್ಯರ ಅರಸನಾದ ರೆಚೀನನು ಏಲತ್ ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಅರಾಮ್ ರಾಜ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಅದರಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಓಡಿಸಿದನು. ಎದೋಮ್ಯರು ಬಂದು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸತೊಡಗಿದರು. ಅವರು ಇಂದಿನವರೆಗೂ ಅಲ್ಲೇ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
7 And Achaz sent messengers to Theglathphalasar king of the Assyrians, saying: I am thy servant, and thy son: come up, and save me out of the hand of the king of Syria, and out of the hand of the king of Israel, who are risen up together against me.
೭ಆಹಾಜನು ಅಶ್ಶೂರ್ ದೇಶದ ಅರಸನಾದ ತಿಗ್ಲತ್ಪಿಲೆಸೆರನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ದೂತರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ದಾಸನೂ, ಮಗನೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ನೀನು ಬಂದು ನನ್ನನ್ನು, ನನಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಎದ್ದಿರುವ ಅರಾಮ್ಯರ ಮತ್ತು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಅರಸುಗಳ ಕೈಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕದಂತೆ ತಪ್ಪಿಸು” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿಕೊಂಡನು.
8 And when he had gathered together the silver and gold that could be found in the house of the Lord, and in the king’s treasures, he sent it for a present to the king of the Assyrians.
೮ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ, ಆಹಾಜನು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಲಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಅರಮನೆಯ ಭಂಡಾರದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಇದ್ದ, ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಬಂಗಾರವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯಾಗಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.
9 And he agreed to his desire: for the king of the Assyrians went up against Damascus, and laid it waste: and he carried away the inhabitants thereof to Cyrene, but Basin he slew.
೯ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನು ಇವನ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿ, ದಮಸ್ಕ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಹೋಗಿ ರೆಚೀನನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದು ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸೆರೆಹಿಡಿದು, ಕೀರ್ ಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ತಂದನು.
10 And king Achaz went to Damascus to meet Theglathphalasar king of the Assyrians, and when he had seen the altar of Damascus, king Achaz sent to Urias the priest a pattern of it, and its likeness according to all the work thereof.
೧೦ಅರಸನಾದ ಆಹಾಜನು ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನಾದ ತಿಗ್ಲತ್ಪಿಲೆಸೆರನ ದರ್ಶನಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ದಮಸ್ಕಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದನು. ಅವನು ಅಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಯಜ್ಞವೇದಿಯನ್ನು ಕಂಡು, ಅದರ ಒಂದು ಪ್ರತಿಮೆಯನ್ನೂ, ಅದರ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಅಲಂಕಾರದ ನಕ್ಷೆಯನ್ನೂ ಬರೆಯಿಸಿ, ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಊರೀಯನಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.
11 And Urias the priest built an altar according to all that king Achaz had commanded from Damascus, so did Urias the priest, until king Achaz came from Damascus.
೧೧ಅರಸನಾದ ಆಹಾಜನು ದಮಸ್ಕದಿಂದ ಬರುವಷ್ಟರಲ್ಲಿ ಊರೀಯನು ಅರಸನಿಂದ ತನಗೆ ಬಂದ ಮಾದರಿಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಒಂದು ಯಜ್ಞವೇದಿಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಸಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದನು.
12 And when the king was come from Damascus, he saw the altar and worshipped it: and went up and offered holocausts, and his own sacrifice.
೧೨ಅರಸನು ದಮಸ್ಕದಿಂದ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿ ಬಂದ ಮೇಲೆ ಆ ಯಜ್ಞವೇದಿಯನ್ನು ಕಂಡು, ಸಮೀಪಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ, ಅದರ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಲಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದನು.
13 And offered libations and poured the blood of the peace offerings, which he had offered upon the altar.
೧೩ತಾನು ತಂದ ಸರ್ವಾಂಗಹೋಮದ್ರವ್ಯ, ಧಾನ್ಯನೈವೇದ್ಯ, ಪಾನದ್ರವ್ಯನೈವೇದ್ಯ ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸಿ ಸಮಾಧಾನಯಜ್ಞಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ವಧಿಸಿದ ಪಶುಗಳ ರಕ್ತವನ್ನು ಅದರ ಮೇಲೆ ಚಿಮುಕಿಸಿದನು.
14 But the altar of brass that was before the Lord, he removed from the face of the temple, and from the place of the altar, and from the place of the temple of the Lord: and he set it at the side of the altar toward the north.
೧೪ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ, ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಲಯಕ್ಕೂ, ತನ್ನ ವೇದಿಗೂ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು ಆ ವರೆಗೂ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಸೇವೆಗೆ ಉಪಯೋಗಿಸಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ತಾಮ್ರ ಯಜ್ಞವೇದಿಯನ್ನೂ ಆಲಯದ ಎದುರಿನಿಂದ ತೆಗೆಯಿಸಿ, ತನ್ನ ಯಜ್ಞವೇದಿಯ ಉತ್ತರ ದಿಕ್ಕಿನಲ್ಲಿಡಿಸಿದನು.
15 And king Achaz commanded Urias the priest saying: Upon the great altar offer the morning holocaust, and the evening sacrifice, and the king’s holocaust, and his sacrifice, and the holocaust of the whole people of the land, and their sacrifices, and their libations: and all the blood of the holocaust, and all the blood of the victim thou shalt pour out upon it: but the altar of brass shall be ready at my pleasure.
೧೫ಅರಸನಾದ ಆಹಾಜನು ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಊರೀಯನಿಗೆ, “ಉದಯಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಸರ್ವಾಂಗಹೋಮವನ್ನೂ, ಸಾಯಂಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಧಾನ್ಯನೈವೇದ್ಯವನ್ನೂ, ಅರಸನು ತರುವ ಸರ್ವಾಂಗಹೋಮದ್ರವ್ಯ, ಧಾನ್ಯನೈವೇದ್ಯ ಇವುಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಜನರು ತರುವ ಸರ್ವಾಂಗಹೋಮದ್ರವ್ಯ, ಧಾನ್ಯನೈವೇದ್ಯ, ಪಾನದ್ರವ್ಯ ಇವುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಈ ಮಹಾವೇದಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸಬೇಕು ಮತ್ತು ಸರ್ವಾಂಗಹೋಮಯಜ್ಞಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ವಧಿಸುವ ಪಶುಗಳ ರಕ್ತವನ್ನು ಇದರ ಮೇಲೆಯೇ ಚಿಮುಕಿಸಬೇಕು. ತಾಮ್ರ ಯಜ್ಞವೇದಿಯನ್ನು ಕುರಿತಾಗಿ ನಾನೇ ಆಲೋಚಿಸಿ ನೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವೆನು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
16 So Urias the priest did according to all that king Achaz had commanded him.
೧೬ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಊರೀಯನು ಅರಸನಾದ ಆಹಾಜನು ಹೇಳಿದಂತೆಯೇ ಮಾಡಿದನು.
17 And king Achaz took away the graven bases, and the laver that was upon them: and he took down the sea from the brazen oxen that held it up, and put it upon a pavement of stone.
೧೭ಅರಸನಾದ ಆಹಾಜನು ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವಾಗಿ ಯಜ್ಞವೇದಿಗಳ ಪಟ್ಟಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕತ್ತರಿಸಿದನು, ಅವುಗಳ ಮೇಲಿದ್ದ ಗಂಗಾಳಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದಿಟ್ಟನು. ಕಡಲೆನಿಸುವ ಪಾತ್ರೆಯನ್ನು ತಾಮ್ರದ ಹೋರಿಗಳ ಮೇಲಣಿಂದ ಇಳಿಸಿ ಕಲ್ಲುಕಟ್ಟೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಡಿಸಿದನು.
18 The Musach also for the sabbath, which he had built in the temple: and the king’s entry from without he turned into the temple of the Lord, because of the king of the Assyrians.
೧೮ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಲಯದ ಪ್ರಾಕಾರದೊಳಗೆ ಸಬ್ಬತ್ ದಿನದ ಆರಾಧನೆಗಾಗಿ ರಾಜರಿಗಾಗಿ ಕಟ್ಟಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದ ಮಂಟಪವನ್ನು ಹಾಗೂ ಅರಮನೆಯಿಂದ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗುವ ಹೊರಗಿನ ಬಾಗಿಲನ್ನೂ ಬದಲಾಯಿಸಿದವನು ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಈ ಆಹಾಜನೇ.
19 Now the rest of the acts of Achaz, which he did, are they not written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Juda?
೧೯ಆಹಾಜನ ಉಳಿದ ಚರಿತ್ರೆಯೂ, ಅವನ ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳೂ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ರಾಜಕಾಲ ಇತಿಹಾಸ ಎಂಬ ಗ್ರಂಥದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದು ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದೆ.
20 And Achaz slept with his fathers, and was buried with them in the city of David, and Ezechias his son reigned in his stead.
೨೦ಆಹಾಜನು ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಸೇರಲು ಅವನ ಶವವನ್ನು ದಾವೀದನ ಪಟ್ಟಣದೊಳಗೆ ಅವನ ಕುಟುಂಬ ಸ್ಮಶಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಾಧಿಮಾಡಿದರು. ಅವನ ನಂತರ ಅವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ಅರಸನಾದನು.
