2 Chronicles 13
1 In the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam, Abia reigned over Juda.
১যারবিয়াম রাজার আঠারো বছরে অবিয় যিহূদার উপরে রাজত্ব করতে শুরু করলেন।
2 Three years he reigned in Jerusalem, and his mother’s name was Michaia, the daughter of Uriel of Gabaa: and there was war between Abia and Jeroboam.
২তিনি তিন বছর যিরূশালেমে রাজত্ব করলেন; তাঁর মায়ের নাম ছিল মীখায়া, তিনি গিবিয়ার অধিবাসী ঊরীয়েলের মেয়ে। অবিয় আর যারবিয়ামের মধ্যে যুদ্ধ হত।
3 And when Abia had begun battle, and had with him four hundred thousand most valiant and chosen men, Jeroboam put his army in array against him, eight hundred thousand men, who were also chosen and most valiant for war.
৩অবিয় চার লক্ষ মনোনীত বীর যোদ্ধার সঙ্গে যুদ্ধ করতে গেলেন এবং যারবিয়াম আট লক্ষ মনোনীত বলবান বীরের সঙ্গে তাঁর বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধের জন্য সৈন্য সাজালেন।
4 And Abia stood upon mount Semeron, which was in Ephraim, and said: Hear me, O Jeroboam, and all Israel:
৪আর অবিয় পর্বতময় ইফ্রয়িম এলাকার সমারয়িম পর্বতের উপরে দাঁড়িয়ে বললেন, “হে যারবিয়াম, তুমি ও সমস্ত ইস্রায়েলের লোকেরা, আমার কথা শোন।
5 Do you not know that the Lord God of Israel gave to David the kingdom over Israel for ever, to him and to his sons by a covenant of salt?
৫ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভু ইস্রায়েলের রাজপদ চিরকালের জন্য দায়ূদকে দিয়েছেন; তাঁকে ও তাঁর সন্তানদের লবণ নিয়মের মাধ্যমে দিয়েছেন, এটা জানার কি তোমাদের প্রয়োজন নেই?
6 And Jeroboam the son of Nabat, the servant of Solomon the son of David, rose up: and rebelled against his lord.
৬তবুও দায়ূদের ছেলে শলোমনের দাস যে নবাটের ছেলে যারবিয়াম, সেই লোক তাঁর মনিবের বিরুদ্ধে বিদ্রোহ করল।
7 And there were gathered to him vain men, and children of Belial: and they prevailed against Roboam the son of Solomon: for Roboam was unexperienced, and of a fearful heart, and could not resist them.
৭আর নিষ্ঠুর বিবেকবিহীন লোকেরা তার সঙ্গে জড়ো হয়ে শলোমনের ছেলে রহবিয়ামের বিরুদ্ধে নিজেদের শক্তিশালী করল। সেই দিন রহবিয়াম যুবক ও নরম হৃদয়ের ছিলেন, তাদের সামনে নিজেকে বলবান করতে পারলেন না।
8 And now you say that you are able to withstand the kingdom of the Lord, which he possesseth by the sons of David, and you have a great multitude of people, and golden calves, which Jeroboam hath made you for gods.
৮আর এখন তোমরাও দায়ূদের সন্তানদের হাতে সদাপ্রভুর যে রাজ্য, তার বিরুদ্ধে নিজেদেরকে বলবান করতে চাইছেন; তোমরা বিশাল জনতা এবং সেই দুটি সোনার বাছুর তোমাদের সঙ্গে আছে, যা যারবিয়াম তোমাদের জন্য দেবতা হিসাবে তৈরী করেছেন।
9 And you have cast out the priests of the Lord, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites: and you have made you priests, like all the nations of the earth: whosoever cometh and consecrateth his hand with a bullock of the herd, and with seven rams, is made a priest of those who are no gods.
৯তোমরা কি সদাপ্রভুর যাজকদের, হারোণের সন্তানদের ও লেবীয়দেরকে তাড়িয়ে দাও নি? আর অন্য দেশের জাতিদের মত নিজেদের জন্য যাজকদের নিযুক্ত করনি? একটি বাছুর ও সাতটা ভেড়া সঙ্গে নিয়ে যে কেউ নিজেকে পবিত্র করবার জন্য উপস্থিত হয়, সে ওদের যাজক হতে পারে, যারা ঈশ্বর নয়।
10 But the Lord is our God, whom we forsake not, and the priests who minister to the Lord are the sons of Aaron, and the Levites are in their order.
১০কিন্তু আমরা সেই রকম নই, সদাপ্রভুই আমাদের ঈশ্বর; আমরা তাঁকে ত্যাগ করি নি এবং যাজকরা, হারোণের বংশধরেরা সদাপ্রভুর সেবা করছে এবং আর লেবীয়েরাও তাদের কাজে নিযুক্ত আছে।
11 And they offer holocausts to the Lord, every day, morning and evening, and incense made according to the ordinance of the law, and the leaves are set forth on a most clean table, and there is with us the golden candlestick, and the lamps thereof, to be lighted always in the evening: for we keep the precepts of the Lord our God, whom you have forsaken.
১১আর তারা সদাপ্রভুর উদ্দেশ্যে প্রতিদিন সকালে ও সন্ধ্যায় হোমবলি পোড়ায় ও সুগন্ধি ধূপ জ্বালায়, আর শুচি টেবিলের উপরে দর্শন রুটি সাজিয়ে রাখে এবং প্রতিদিন সন্ধ্যাবেলায় জ্বালাবার জন্য বাতিগুলির সঙ্গে সোনার বাতিদান তৈরী করে; বাস্তবিক আমরা আমাদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর আদেশ রক্ষা করি; কিন্তু তোমরা তাঁকে ত্যাগ করেছ।
12 Therefore God is the leader in our army, and his priests who sound with trumpets, and resound against you: O children of Israel, fight not against the Lord the God of your fathers, for it is not good for you.
১২আর দেখ, ঈশ্বর আমাদের সঙ্গে আছেন, তিনি আমাদের সামনে যাচ্ছেন এবং তাঁর যাজকেরা তোমাদের বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধের ডাক দেবার জন্য তূরী নিয়ে আমাদের সঙ্গে আছেন। হে ইস্রায়েলের সন্তানরা, তোমরা তোমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ কোরো না, করলে সফল হবে না।”
13 While he spoke these things, Jeroboam caused an ambushment to come about behind him. And while he stood facing the enemies, he encompassed Juda. who perceived it not, with his army.
১৩পরে যারবিয়াম পিছনের দিকে তাদের আক্রমণের জন্য গোপনে একদল সৈন্য পাঠিয়ে দিলেন; তাতে তাঁর লোকেরা যিহূদার সামনে ও সেই লুকানো দল পিছনে ছিল।
14 And when Juda looked back, they saw the battle coming upon them both before and behind, and they cried to the Lord: and the priests began to sound with the trumpets.
১৪পরে যিহূদার লোকেরা মুখ ফিরিয়ে দেখতে পেল যে, তাদের সামনে ও পিছনে দুদিকে সৈন্য; তখন তারা সদাপ্রভুর কাছে কান্নাকাটি করল এবং যাজকরা তূরী বাজাল।
15 And all the men of Juda shouted: and behold when they shouted, God terrified Jeroboam, and all Israel that stood against Abia and Juda.
১৫পরে যিহূদার লোকেরা যুদ্ধের ডাক দিল; তাতে যিহূদার লোকেদের যুদ্ধের ডাক দেবার দিনের ঈশ্বর অবিয়ের ও যিহূদার সামনে থেকে যারবিয়াম ও সমস্ত ইস্রায়েলকে আঘাত করলেন।
16 And the children of Israel fled before Juda, and the Lord delivered them into their hand.
১৬তখন ইস্রায়েলের লোকেরা যিহূদার সামনে থেকে পালাল এবং ঈশ্বর তাদেরকে যিহূদার হাতে সমর্পণ করলেন।
17 And Abia and his people slew them with a great slaughter, and there fell wounded of Israel five hundred thousand valiant men.
১৭আর অবিয় ও তাঁর সৈন্যরা অনেক লোককে মেরে ফেলল; ফলে ইস্রায়েলের পাঁচ লক্ষ মনোনীত লোক মারা পড়ল।
18 And the children of Israel were brought down, at that time, and the children of Juda were exceedingly strengthened, because they had trusted in the Lord the God of their fathers.
১৮এই ভাবে সেই দিনের ইস্রায়েল সন্তানরা নত হল ও যিহূদা সন্তানরা বলবান হল, কারণ তারা তাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর উপর নির্ভর করল।
19 And Abia pursued after Jeroboam, and took cities from him, Bethel and her daughters, and Jesana with her daughters, Ephron also and her daughters.
১৯পরে অবিয় যারবিয়ামের পিছনে তাড়া করতে গিয়ে তাঁর হাত থেকে বৈথেল ও তার উপনগরগুলি, যিশানা ও তার উপনগরগুলি এবং ইফ্রোণ ও তার উপনগরগুলি দখল করে নিলেন।
20 And Jeroboam was not able to resist any more, in the days of Abia: and the Lord struck him, and he died.
২০অবিয়ের দিনের যারবিয়াম আর বলবান হতে পারেন নি; পরে সদাপ্রভু তাঁকে আঘাত করলে তিনি মারা গেলেন।
21 But Abia, being strengthened in his kingdom, took fourteen wives: and begot two and twenty sons, and sixteen daughters.
২১কিন্তু অবিয় বলবান হয়ে উঠলেন, আর তাঁর চৌদ্দজন স্ত্রী ছিল এবং তিনি বাইশজন ছেলে ও ষোলজন মেয়ে জন্ম দিলেন।
22 And the rest of the acts of Abia, and of his ways and works, are written diligently in the book of Addo the prophet.
২২অবিয়ের অবশিষ্ট কাজের কথা, তার আচার ব্যবহার এবং তাঁর কথা বলেছিলেন ইদ্দো ভাববাদীর ব্যাখামূলক বইয়ে লেখা আছে।
